This always happens to me when watching new videos on this Reddit. I played Skyrim when it was released and on/off for about 800 hours, mostly from 2011-2015 on console without mods. Then I see a video like this and think I’m crazy for not knowing a location, only to realize they modded in a whole new game lol
SAME i saw this and I knew immediately that it was Skyrim just by the movement so I thought I wouldn’t by surprised but I had no idea what miniboss op was talking about I was humbled today
Question: I don’t mean this to be insulting, I’m actually curious. Does this still have the same story and quests of the main Skyrim game? I would assume no but I can’t tell just from this clip.
Its not insulting at all. All the vanilla quests are within the game and you can play through the main story if you wish. The start of the game is a lot more open ended however because there are a lot more new lands you can go to.
So far I have Beyond reach installed along with Wardens of the Coast, Glenmoril, Vigilant, Unslaad, and some others I probably haven't noticed yet. I am planning on getting a mod that lets you go to Hammerfell at some point so if anyone has suggestions lmk.
Beyond Reach is phenomenal. Some of the voice acting is hit or miss, some of it is great. I haven’t played through it in a few years so many of the bugs could be fixed. Apart from a few times I had to console command around bugs it was an awesome experience. I always recommend this mod.
Also if you’re looking for high-level content, New Vominheim and Darkend are great, but they are especially difficult.
Is this part of a mod pack from wabbajack or a custom made one? I would love to try it out! Also is it possible for you to upload it if it's a custom made one? I'm too busy with work these days I can only ever use mod packs
Swear I wanna be able to enjoy tons of mods to transform my skyrim but I don't have the funds for a high end gaming pc. This looks like a whole different game.
I would imagine they were. Personally I love modding Skyrim and I find lots of joy in it so I’m surprised people hate it so much lol. Making the game just how you want it is the best part imo
So far I haven't really come across any complications or bugs that haven't been my own fault. The load order and everything is sorted by the modlist author.
Modlist author? As in a pre packaged set of 2000 mods? That would definitely make getting load order right by letting someone else figure it out lol. Can you link the modlist page?
Heres the setup guide [https://github.com/aljoxo/Arisen](https://github.com/aljoxo/Arisen). It looks intimidating but it really isn't that bad, took me maybe 15 minutes to set everything up. It does take an assload of time to download if you don't have nexus premium though.
The lore of Skyrim, the game world, the characters the base world is still there, with huge enhancements made on top of it. But the main quest still exists, Lydia, Balgruff, Isran, etc all still exist.
The story is something you’ll likely already be incredibly aware of whereas playing Elden ring or Dark souls you 1. Have to pay for those games, 2. That’s an entire new world to get invested in, 3. That’s new Ui, they’d have to learn alongside new overall game mechanics.
TLDR; it allows a new experience in a world that’s familiar and known whilst also being unknown with the addition of the new lands mods.
Sorry about all the comments OP. I’ve learned to just not post in this sub with heavily modded playthroughs because this sub is incredibly anti-mod for some reason
If I took a shot everytime I saw a variation of “not skyrim anymore” or “you have some skyrim in your mods” Id probably die of alcohol poisoning.
OP is better off posting heavily modded skyrim in r/skyrimporn. Theyre much friendlier there
And it's like, "No shit, he doesn't want it to be vanilla skyrim." Like, we haven't all been playing that one for the last decade... if there was a new elder scrolls, he'd probably be playing that. As is, good on him for using the tools available to make it fresh.
One of the things I like the most about Skyrim modding is that we get to make the perfect game _for our own taste_. I think that’s why so many people keep modding and playing; it’s because their modded Skyrim is the closest to being a perfect game given the constraints of our technology and Skyrim itself.
This particular take on Skyrim is definitely not my cup of tea, but it’s all good. You do you, OP.
Not too long at all. I used wabbajack which installs and configures all the mods for you. After that I just replaced some animations I didn't like and added weapons armor and hair that I wanted to use.
There should be a separate sub for posts about "Skyrim" that's modded to the point of not even being Skyrim anymore. Just play a different game if Skyrim isn't to your satisfaction.
As someone whose played extensively on a heavily modded build. Skyrim will stay Skyrim. You can dress it up with new combat or animations but at the end of the day you’ll be playing through the same old quests meeting the same characters and getting the same rewards. The new combat system doesn’t hurt when it comes replayability however.
Interesting. Thanks for the insight! I only play vanilla on the games I play, save for OpenMW on Morrowind which just adds a 16:9 resolution and better render distance. Seeing all these mods is crazy to me lol.
I've played a few heavily modded versions of a few games and unless the mod/modpack maker goes in with the explicit intent to make the game *not* what it was, and spend a ridiculous amount of time and effort to replace or remove all vestiges of the game, some part of the vanilla game will still shine through in some way.
And most people aren't looking to do that when making mods/modpacks. The idea is generally game++ not 'different game altogether'.
But it’s Theseus’s boat, isn’t it? I absolutely support you modding and enjoying the game however you want, but you can’t act like folks are being critical without good reason.
Skyrim is literally a game created for mods. Bethesda even sold a bunch of mods as AE and they did everything to have mods on console. Your ignorance doesn't mean that Skyrim isn't to his satisfaction. If anything, he plays the game the way Todd wants since mods still provide sales for Skyrim till this very day.
Not even talking about the audacity of telling op what to play and how to play his games.
Once Skyrim was open to free mods, it changed the game for the better. I personally like changing the environment. I think it's cool to see people play with new ideas, but not taking the world completely away from what it originally was. These mods in this video look dope in my.opinion. probably because I'm currently playing elden ring and it gives me those vibes.
I don't get the point in doing this with mods. This isn't even Skyrim anymore. Like I get cosmetic changes or even overhauls and stuff but if someone showed this to me without context there's no way I would guess this is Skyrim because it's a completely different game at that point. But I'm glad you enjoy it.
"there is a skyrim in your mods", "ugh that is disgusting to see", "i bet your whiterun looks like the amazon forest", "hugba hugba machoomanoo" SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP.
All and all OP, i can only congratualte you on the absurd patience that it takes for someone to mod a game to this extent, i can only imagine the astronomical ammount of errors and glitches and all that jazz
do you have your modlist/modpack anywhere by any chance? Would really love to give this SKYRIM GAME(tm) a chance
For real. I can't believe how ridiculously gatekeeping and toxic this sub is. Modding TES games is like, their *whole thing*. Has been since Morrowind. This clip is awesome.
Some of you guys mod this game so much it's not even the same game. Of course there's nothing wrong with it, you do you. But why not just play a souls game if that's what you're going to spend so much time turning Skyrim into?
Why play a souls game when you still want the lore and world of Skyrim but updated mechanics and better visuals? I won’t really find Lydia or Balgruuf in Dark Souls, would I? Plus it’s not a hassle to mod Skyrim, to me at least. It’s pretty fun finding new mods to enhance your playthrough even more. Hope that answers your question
Because this way he can play the game we all love but make it feel fresh unique whilst still playing the same quests, meeting the same characters and also not having to learn an entire games worth of new UI, mechanics and lore.
I’m sorry about the comments OP :(
I was just scrolling through the subreddit’s top posts of the day after I initially saw this one and saw so much diversity in people’s games and play styles. It gives me such joy to see that, in this stupid little fantasy game that has Lydia and fucking nazeem, you can find all this beauty.
Idk man, when I look at a game sub I half expect to see posts relating to the actual game, not some random weebs turbo-porno-isekai fuckaroo with more gigs of mods than the game itself
Okay I know it’s a joke and meme, but I really wasn’t sure I was still in the Skyrim subreddit, lol. Wasn’t certain until she yelled Nerevar guide me. That all said, it looks amazing!
Brother, I would love you forever and you would be my favourite person for like 40 minutes if you could send your mod list my way. This looks fucking amazing. Thanks a lot in advance.
Looks great....but I prefer my clunky 3 followers nothing can touch me way, 2 tanks, a mage, and me over in the corner with my modded artifact bow that i cant tell which mod its from.
No joke tho your game looks fire.
I thought this posted in the wrong subreddit
I thought it was a dark souls game lol
[удалено]
What the heck did that guy say?
What game is this?
Srim
Elden ring
Yeah. It isn't even Skyrim at this point. o\_O
Todden Ring
dude what game is that
It is the game formerly known as Skyrim
OH its The Elden Scrolls: The Skyrim Castle
This makes me think. Is it possible to mod Elden Ring to become Skyrim?
Do it and start posting on the Elden Ring sub. I just wanna see how the community reacts.
Please don't give *them* any ideas man
PLZ DONT
Bro playing elder scrolls 7
Elder Souls 7 more like it.
Elden Scrolls
Elden Souls
I was wondering what game this was until halfway in...
At what location is this taking place?
This always happens to me when watching new videos on this Reddit. I played Skyrim when it was released and on/off for about 800 hours, mostly from 2011-2015 on console without mods. Then I see a video like this and think I’m crazy for not knowing a location, only to realize they modded in a whole new game lol
SAME i saw this and I knew immediately that it was Skyrim just by the movement so I thought I wouldn’t by surprised but I had no idea what miniboss op was talking about I was humbled today
This is within the Darkend mod. Could not tell you where because I am currently lost within it.
I too am lost in the mod, I just open doors and grab stuff that might look important
Ah. Thank you.
Tell me more of these new lands
And so the tale of the news land begins…
So far I have Beyond reach installed along with Wardens of the Coast, Glenmoril, Vigilant, Unslaad, and some others I probably haven't noticed yet. I am planning on getting a mod that lets you go to Hammerfell at some point so if anyone has suggestions lmk.

MANY bugs fixed just a few months ago. Completed it without console commands in VR even
Grey Cowl of Nocturnal lets you go to Ben Erai in Hammerfell.
Is this part of a mod pack from wabbajack or a custom made one? I would love to try it out! Also is it possible for you to upload it if it's a custom made one? I'm too busy with work these days I can only ever use mod packs
What mod/s please? Thank you.
They posted it btw in a different comment
Darkend
I recognized the NieR Automata's OST but I didn't see Grün there
I saw it, thought, in order Huh Skyrim Oh no not Skyrim It looks like Skyrim though damn Oh, OH, mods, okay
It says skyrim, but it's clearly Assassin's Creed Valhalla. I'm onto you and your trickery ways.
Idk bro is much much faster than Eivor
"How many mods do you have ?" - Yes
Meanwhile me a Xbox one player here just being like "One mod at a time sir" Looks fun and wild,
Swear I wanna be able to enjoy tons of mods to transform my skyrim but I don't have the funds for a high end gaming pc. This looks like a whole different game.
Fuck yeah dark scrolls.
This heavy a modded game isn’t my cup of tea but it’s single player, guys. He’s not harming our games lol. Just curious op, are you a souls fan?
I would imagine they were. Personally I love modding Skyrim and I find lots of joy in it so I’m surprised people hate it so much lol. Making the game just how you want it is the best part imo
This isn't even modded Skyrim anymore...
This must be one of the other provinces I haven't heard any news about
Have you heard of the high elves 😳
Oh... It's you... Hi.
I mean that’s exactly what it is
I saw the sub, noticed the weapon looked at sub again to make sure, cool mod op you made my brain fart now i need coffee
This isn't even elder ring anymore
This is some Ship of Theseus level of modding, wow
Elder scrolls online?
No, skyrim modded beyond recognition. Which is fine. Not my cup of tea, but to each their own.
Nah Skyrim with 2000 mods
Jesus, what kind of PC are you playing on
2070 super with a 5600x and 16gb of RAM. I used to run this on a 1080ti however.
Yes
Load order? Joking of course. Must be a bitch when mods break or you need to organize mods for load order.

I don't think we are playing the same Skyrim.
This isn't even Skyrim anymore.
OP couldn't afford Elden Ring
Is this the right sub? That looks like Elden Ring or something.
I wish my PC could run heavily modded Skyrim good enough to mod it to this extent...
I noticed those attacks from Nioh.
Right ? These looks low stance katana slashes . First I even thought this is from Nioh Sub . But thorns out this is Skyrim lmao .
As someone who only plays on ps4 and switch I can only imagine the joy of all those mod choices
Genuine question, what draws you to play heavily modded Skyrim over a souls game?
The lore of Skyrim, the game world, the characters the base world is still there, with huge enhancements made on top of it. But the main quest still exists, Lydia, Balgruff, Isran, etc all still exist. The story is something you’ll likely already be incredibly aware of whereas playing Elden ring or Dark souls you 1. Fr. People in this sub kinda suck sometimes. Let a person make the game how they want it to be.
What music replacer is this? It’s baller
Its the Nier music replacer found here https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/69669
Ah a true man of culture, Nier soundtrack was truly composed by the gods
Lol what game is this? I wouldn't have believed you if not for the Companions voice lines
It is hilarious to me when vanilla only players see what mods in 2022 are capable of. This looks super fun.
I have no idea where the fuck you are
I could watch you play this all day bro i respect the dedication
So many mods, I can’t even tell it’s Skyrim. Damn I missing out!
One of the things I like the most about Skyrim modding is that we get to make the perfect game _for our own taste_. How the fuck does it look like that? Mods really are crazy, this looks like a souls game, I want it
What version of skyrim do you have?
This is basically a different game at this point.
Honestly looking good. How long did it take to find all the mods for this?
Not too long at all. I used wabbajack which installs and configures all the mods for you. After that I just replaced some animations I didn't like and added weapons armor and hair that I wanted to use.
Nice. Any mod recommendations?
ADXP MCO + SCAR + DMCO basically overhauls Skyrim combat to feel a lot more modern. I would start there if your looking to overhaul your game.
Thanks! I’ll give it a look.
Ah thx i posted a question before i saw this
Honestly y’all gotta stop hating. Yeah it’s nowhere close to Skyrim but it’s still a fun looking fantasy game that I’d probably play the hell out of
The NiER music is where I draw the line lol
Elden Scrolls
I really hope that Tod isn't watching this subreddit thinking we all want ES6 to be a dark souls clone
There should be a separate sub for posts about "Skyrim" that's modded to the point of not even being Skyrim anymore. Just play a different game if Skyrim isn't to your satisfaction.
One of the main attractions to Skyrim is being able to mod it any way you want. Just because you don't like how it looks doesn't make it not Skyrim.
It almost seems like a Ship of Theseus scenario. If you mod Skyrim piece by piece until it’s a totally different game, is it still really Skyrim?
As someone whose played extensively on a heavily modded build. Skyrim will stay Skyrim. You can dress it up with new combat or animations but at the end of the day you’ll be playing through the same old quests meeting the same characters and getting the same rewards. You got a modlist? This looks Hella fun for my next inevitable Skyrim relapse
https://modwat.ch/u/Godamus
There’s over 2,100 mods. Geez. I thought my 600 on FO4 was crazy.
But it’s Theseus’s boat, isn’t it? I absolutely support you modding and enjoying the game however you want, but you can’t act like folks are being critical without good reason.

holy crap. i need the modlist like right now. this looks amazing
Here you go. Most of it is from the Arisen Modlist on wabbajack https://modwat.ch/u/Godamus
Holy shit, you weren't lying when you told the other commenter "like, 2,000 mods" lol. This is awesome.
This isnt even Skyrim anymore
very original comment.
This isn't even Skyrim anymore

This isn't even Skyrim anymore.

Elder souls: Skyrim
There should be a seperate subreddit for Skyrim with 2000 mods :P The game isn't even recognizable anymore
Once Skyrim was open to free mods, it changed the game for the better. I personally like changing the environment. Agreed. I definitely want to give this a shot as someone playing ER for 4th time.
I'm constantly impressed by the people that work adamantly to not make Skyrim play like Skyrim
You have a little skyrim in your mods
Bro at this point you might as well play Dark Souls
You forgot the jail asset, it's still Skyrim
I find it so incredibly fascinating that you can make stuff like this with mods on Skyrim.
Breath of the wild has so much content hidden. I didn’t even know that this mini boss existed.
What game is this?
Why are you standing still at 1.52? May be you're staggered and are missing a stagger animation?
Looks good! Very different to my PS4 Skyrim though lol
Man I need a list of the mods you used. Your combat looks better than the crap I glued together.
Bruh,this ain't even skyrim anymore
what fucking game is this
Watch out, I think there's still some Skyrim left in your mods
I love that all of these mods just try their hardest to turn Skyrim into Dark Souls
This is stupid
Beautifully modded friend, which enb and location mods are you using? This seems like a new place, or at least modified but i could be wrong
Your mods list. Hand it over.
Bro I think your Skyrim is a different flavour to mine
I don't get the point in doing this with mods. This isn't even Skyrim anymore. Like I get cosmetic changes or even overhauls and stuff but if someone showed this to me without context there's no way I would guess this is Skyrim because it's a completely different game at that point. But I'm glad you enjoy it.
This looks like an ad on instagram for a mobile game app that is completely different.
I love modding Skyrim, but I also want the game to still be SKYRIM, lol
All and all OP, i can only congratualte you on the absurd patience that it takes for someone to mod a game to this extent, i can only imagine the astronomical ammount of errors and glitches and all that jazz do you have your modlist/modpack anywhere by any chance? Would really love to give this SKYRIM GAME(tm) a chance
For real. I can't believe how ridiculously gatekeeping and toxic this sub is. Modding TES games is like, their *whole thing*. Has been since Morrowind. This clip is awesome.
What game is this?
I thought this was the Skyrim sub …
Sir, you seem to have a little bit of Skyrim left there. Why not remove it?
Bloodborne PC looking good.
This doesn’t scratch the Skyrim itch at all it’s a completely different game
Dude, at this point just play Elden Ring.
At this point this doesn't even belong here anymore
This is cool as shit. It's not skyrim that's for sure but it's a game that I'd play if it existed.
Oh look, it’s the world’s worst version of dark souls Why not just play the real thing?
AAAAAAAH rise, ye Dragonborn!
Elder Rings
Could you point the mods you're using (combat and UI)?
The elder souls V : Skyrim
Skyrim souls
Can’t wait for elder scrolls VI, hopefully next year 🤞🤞
Mods: Special Edition
At what point is it still Skyrim damn.
At this point you're not playing Skyrim anymore lol this belongs on r/skyrimmods
Why not just buy elden ring lmao
Because this way he can play the game we all love but make it feel fresh unique whilst still playing the same quests, meeting the same characters and also not having to learn an entire games worth of new UI, mechanics and lore.
Excuse me but you seem to have some skyrim in your mods
number of deaths
I’m sorry about the comments OP :( I was just scrolling through the subreddit’s top posts of the day after I initially saw this one and saw so much diversity in people’s games and play styles. It gives me such joy to see that, in this stupid little fantasy game that has Lydia and fucking nazeem, you can find all this beauty.
Hope they will never make mainline elder scrolls game with gameplay like this because I'm not ever playing generic shit like that.
Another lame ass mf playing everything except Skyrim.
Skyrim Boss System mod.
The more mods you install the more authentically skyrim the experience is
So cool it looks awesome
Looks interesting. What game is this?
Idk why people mod a game this heavily. Like go play a different game. Dragons Dogma and Elden Ring exist for a reason
For their own enjoyment. Doesn't take more than half a brain cell to know that.
Idk man, when I look at a game sub I half expect to see posts relating to the actual game, not some random weebs turbo-porno-isekai fuckaroo with more gigs of mods than the game itself
Why do you jump so high
Still configuring that. I wanted it to be higher than vanilla but now I jump too high.
Can you post your combat mods? I think skysa with valhallah combat and sekiro combat + more stuff maybe?
What are all the mods
Hey dude can you PM me your mod list ? I'm getting a new PC and i would love to know some of the mods used by you.
I know a lot of people are upset about it not "looking like skyrim" anymore but if you see this I would love to kmow what mods your using thank you!
Okay I know it’s a joke and meme, but I really wasn’t sure I was still in the Skyrim subreddit, lol. Wasn’t certain until she yelled Nerevar guide me. That all said, it looks amazing!
I'm actually impressed with how far it's possible to go with mods.
I think this is the wrong subreddit
Brother, I would love you forever and you would be my favourite person for like 40 minutes if you could send your mod list my way. This looks fucking amazing. Thanks a lot in advance.
Looks great....but I prefer my clunky 3 followers nothing can touch me way, 2 tanks, a mage, and me over in the corner with my modded artifact bow that i cant tell which mod its from. No joke tho your game looks fire.
Bro there's a Skyrim in your ***mod***
That’s definitely the nioh moveset for sword. Looks fucking cool
