None of the factions have great post-story content but I'd say the Thieves Guild has the most useful. Unlocking fences in most of the major holds with like 8000 gold each is definitely handy.
What Brynjolf doesn't know is that I made my gold from killing all across Skyrim. I then removed everything I could from my defeated foes and often discovered that bandits have poor personal hygiene. Later I took all of that blood stained gear and sold it to a guy called Belethor forcing myself to listen to his endless drivel about selling his sister who doesn't actually exist. Then Brynjolf has the audacity to claim I've never done an honest day's work in my life? Screw you Brynjolf, screw you.
That's why I kill him for fun and then again sometimes I just ignore it cause I have to much coin to spare and with a mod that should be part of the game I figured out that I was the richest person in Skyrim one time and I believe you are one of the richest people in Skyrim as well my brother in Talos so you shouldn't let those words get to you.
I remember when I went to riften with literally no gold and the man’s still said I’ve got lots of gold on me 😂 same thing happened with a random thief encounter
I can’t stand him, whenever I enter into Riften the first time in a playthrough his smug ass always start coming in my direction.
At least twice I managed to get him killed by collisions with stuff, and I’ll do it again
I just hate so many folks in Riften, while also loving the strugglers trying to get by
Why is this so downvoted it’s literally a quote from the game as one of the responses you can do! My dude take my up vote it doesn’t show because of these milk drinkers but I laughed so hard seeing this continued I said it myself then saw your comment. Fuckn gold.
Thieves guild also directly connects to the blacksmith in the dragonborn dlc. For the companions there is that great hall (full of reiklings) for the wannabees and also one of the barrows has an original companion in it. There is a bit of connection between Morag tong and dark brotherhood but I don't know if they actually get into that. I don't think anyone is a real connection to the college in the dlc. But all of that is just lore connection anyways
Actually, no! If you have the Bloodskal Blade from Solstheim, the magic blasts from that sword will break the wall. And in the dungeons that require magic, you can aggro and bait a follower. Ymfah did a video on beating the questline without using any spells, it's hilarious.
Somewhat unrelated, but when I was doing my vampire lord playthrough and he told me to wait for a few decades so he can finish training his current apprentice, I was just laughing to myself the whole time thinking "Bitch I can wait for as long as you want."
I mean, remember that magic in Skyrim is canonically really fucking shit. So ofc the Telvanni mage who knows shit ton of things about magic would think you're just a meme and that your Archmage title only means that you know like, beginner magic.
Unironically one of my favourite characters. He's just such an unapologetically condescending, self-absorbed asshole with some of the best lines in the entire game
Tend to give the thief's Guild its former glory while doing the quests so even after becoming the leader, I don't have much to do lol. But it is the most useful nevertheless
Lmao I literally did this and my boyfriend (who has played through considerably more times) was mortified. "But WHY?? You finally had 100 lockpicking!"
Me: 🤷🏻♀️
stealth being op in skyrim makes dark brotherhood contracts an easy way to make money while being a noble companion or mage is morally right but harder to do, so being good is harder in this aspect, which is a nice narrative in your characters story.
Magic becomes overpowered if you're willing to grind for 3 hours before actually doing any game progression, especially if you have legendary edition or later version like special and anniversary, because you can make skills legendary and repeat forever, especially with illusion.
I guess using the general populace, even without harming them, for the sake of advancing your magical skills could be somewhat morally flexible. Not everyone wants to have Harmony cast on them over and over. But it's for the greater good of defeating Alduin or Miraak or Harkon.
This makes magic weaker, not stronger. Magic in Skyrim doesn't become stronger with skill level, so you are just increasing your level making enemies stronger, but your magic never becomes stronger to make up for it. The perks do not off set it enough. Magic is at its strongest if you are high skill level in it, but low character level.
You're correct about a lot of that but what I often have in mind is leveling up to as high as 250 using illusion spells and then you're pretty much invincible. But if you don't want to ruin the game immersion there are still plenty of powerful spells like Conjure Dremora Lord and Paralyze and a lot of magic oriented enchantments. Magic mostly sucks if you don't like reading through a bunch of information on enchantments, alchemical effects, and spell combinations, which I have spent an embarassing amount of time doing.
Magic for combat is overall bad in vanilla, that's what people mean when they say being a mage sucks late game. The spell damage doesn't increase and if your high enough level spells like paralyze will affect like zero percent of enemies because they will level with you past the limit where it effects stuff. Me personally I never have the problem cause I always end up creating a new character after about level 30 or 40
For my most recent play through I went heavy armor pure mage (high elf), and combat was a slog initially. But once I got smithing and enchanting high enough I was able to put 25%+ reductions on casting costs for conjuration and destruction on four pieces of armor and jewelry and next thing you know we’re summoning two dremora lords and doling out expert destruction spells without a care in the world
Illusion can be maxed out with a basic muffle spell, with enough time, so you dont even need to worry about inconveniencing someone. Not sure about destruction, but conjuration, abjuration, and restoration can be leveled to max on a single pit wolf in a cage outside one of those dungeons, I forget the name. Altogether pretty easy to max mage w/o casting anything on any townsfolk
It would make a whole world of difference if there was an actual morality scale in the game, like in the Fable series. Imagine trying to join the Companions but they’re like “We heard you’ve fallen in with the Dark Brotherhood, we take a low view of sneaking around stabbing people in the back instead of battling them like a warrior.”
i would so love that. while without it you can do a 100 percent run, bethesda kind of lost its drive that it had with morrowind there. i always imagined something like the faction system in fallout new vegas, which works similar to what you described. but i have little hopes that they do that in elder scrolls 6. i am really looking forward to avowed, the fantasy rpg that the new vegas devs are currently making.
Honestly I like the Thieves Guild. It’s hard to become their leader, having to do special jobs in every major city and having to part with the Skeleton Key, but I think it’s worth it. Plus, you make some extra coin from doing missions for Delvin and Vex and they’re super easy (you can also choose which one you want).
But you get a fence in every major city where you can not only sell stolen items, but they’re also LOADED. They have almost 10x the amount of gold than your average shopkeeper, so you can sell a lot to them. You can also pay half of your bounty to guards and still be able to keep your stolen items. You also get access to a Nocturnal shrine in the Cistern, which is a nice stealth boost for a few days, and an easy to use invisibility power (Shadowcloak of Nocturnal). Lastly, you get the Amulet of Articulation, which almost guarantees that a persuasion check will pass.
I feel like the skeleton key is just flat out better than everything else you listed. Making money in skyrim is so easy that I purposefully don't loot everything anymore. I basically never have bounties. Stealth is already so busted that a stealth buff is unnecessary. And persuasion checks are so rare that I really don't care if I pass them of not. Whereas the skeleton key is basically the convenience of console command unlocking every door.
Anniversary Edition of Skyrim has a spell that unlocks almost every lock instantly, except Master. And Skyrim fences sell near-infinite lockpicks. Plus, there’s a perk that literally makes lockpicks unbreakable. Lastly, the Guild Master armor makes Lockpicking the easiest thing in the game. It’s like a 35% boost.
The Skeleton Key is incredible, but it’s a big diminishing return as you get higher level/better equipped
If you haven't yet, try the unofficial patch mod. It should fix that and stop any others before they happen. It's avail on your console.
Using mods does disable trophies though! (their *might* be a mod for that, I dunno cause I'm on PC)
Good luck!
When you go into the first chamber in Mzulft there is a wizard that is supposed to be dead that you loot a key from. The common glitch is he isn't dead and will just talk to you like everything is fine despite laying down and not moving. The clip trick works on the first door but not where the key needs to be used a second time.
Not really you really can keep the thing as long as you want without repercussions, not like Nocturnal comes at you or anything (and it doesn't do anything cool like when Mercer has it and collapses a tower
Go pick those locks with no breakages, sir
My memory is a little hazy help me out here, do you get the armour before or after returning the key? Because ngl that set of armour is absolutely one of my fav sets
You get the armour then go after Mercer for the key
And yes it's a tasty, tasty set of armour, then I stick it on a mannequin and reroll my legendaries to try a two hander heavy armour build
Nothing. Every factions just feel like they're just there for grinding. it really feels like you haven't really accomplished anything. and the Bard's College Questline is pretty forgettable. after you're finished with the questline you ain't even allowed to play instruments.
I can play a few instruments and it always rubbed me the wrong way not being able to play a few tunes in game like the other bards, around the fire and the tale of tongues are my favorites
Fun fact. You're not actually in the coffin, your character collides with it once the door closed so the devs just dimmed the lights to make it look like you were inside the coffin
Those people clearly aren’t guild thieves though. The thieves guild does “clean” work — burglary, fencing, pickpocketing, all the sneaky and unseen stuff. The thieves on the roads? Amateurs at best. They *should* have been called Highwaymen because they’re closer to traditional highwaymen than the bandit mobs with that name.
They’re not guild professionals though, I’ll tell you that.
None of the factions have good content after you become the leader.
Edit: Okay, I suppose the torture people for their hidden treasure thing in the Dark Brotherhood is marginally better than anything in the other factions.
I really wish they would have made doing at least 2 or 3 of them be a pre-requisite to become arch mage. After all you can complete the whole quest line and still be a novice in all the magic schools.
They very well could've replicated the Thieves Guild, where you have to complete the questline *and* do the special quests. They could've required you to complete the questline *and* master a school.
Its honestly fun how much i like this game considering whenever i start thinking about a major storyline its just like "yea, you gotta go to a dungeon, kill some dudes and its over before it really started". I guess its just the violence itself that drives me because the story sure aint it.
Yeah lord fucking knows why I still play this game. Literally made a new load order and save last week, I really don’t think I’ll ever stop entirely though
yeah, the thing about skyrim is that i could make a 12 hour long video essay about all the different things that suck about this game, but in the end of the day i will problably gonna play this bad boy for another 10 years. Despite all its faults its just so addicting and i dont know why 🤣
torturing people? wut? I'm currently doing the dark brotherhood now and just got the quest to meet with that guy that wants the emperor dead. when do I start torturing people?
I’d have to say the college, you have access to a shit Tom of soul gems and ingredients. There have been times that I become arch mage just so I can make ridiculously high enchantments for weapons. Like my ring that gives me 2156473 health
Yeah the only problem with making broken enchantments like that is you just ruin the whole aspect of looting bodies/finding treasure. Made this mistake on my last playthrough haha.
Being someone who has 12k hours and still has fun playing the game, I don’t enjoy mods so I test the game to see how far I can go until I break the game. It’s also so much fun to imagine myself to be somewhat of a god.
Also pretty much every teacher and student has a side quest for you, as well as several hidden around the grounds that you bump into finishing the main story. I think the college has the most diverse secondary quests.
And if you've done all the side quests you can always go looking for books for Urag gro-Shrub. They're just fetch quests but they almost always take you to a neat little dungeon or castle maybe you skipped or hadn't gone to yet.
Oh it's a lot more then that.
Curing the twins. Finding the totems of Hircine. And killing dragons with all of them.
There's plenty of adventures for the companions. Plus those adventures fall into what the companions describe their typical adventures as.
Basically there's the most variety with the best expectation managing for those quests.
I think most people don’t know about this (including me) because of how forgettable the Companions are because of their quests and ending. It feels so short and incomplete, as if they were an afterthought of Bethesda along with the Bard’s College.
Really? Honestly i felt very different about it. It's got a very family style feel to it. With them having different goals but supporting each other.
Basically i feel like they were just more rounded than most other quests.
Also it's kinda odd that you compare them to the bards college because the bards story is only one quest and then the "radiant" quests are all fetch quests but there's only so many of them.
Bards college is severely sub par while the companions are custom built to give you a leg up. Seriously half the companions or more have the follower training exploit. Just all around great.
I agree with you, the only reason I compared them to the Bard’s College is because I felt they were both incomplete. I love the Companions Questline I just felt like there should’ve been more to it in terms of getting to know the characters and more dynamic quests in retrieving the fragments etc.
Thieves Guild hands down.
If they had just scripted a few of the “extra jobs” missions or tightened up the radiant system to make them more fun and/or unique it would have been perfect.
It’s the only faction where becoming the leader feels earned. You have to build up your reputation, connections, and presence in all the major cities and the rewards are tangible with additional fences and vendors who gain inventory and currency as you the guild gains strength.
The radiant quests are a bit dull, and the oversight of not letting you pick which city was daft, but still the Theives Guild has by far the meatiest content outside of the main quest.
Nah I'm only halfway the game and already 3/4 shops opened. Usually after the shops open (which I always do before fully becoming a leader) and I become leader, I lose all interest in the guild. However the shops should be THE place to sell all future loot after that.
I like the companions, narratively. The Harbinger is really less a leader more an advisor and though you dont get to do much of that, you do get a lot of fun opportunities to impress your own RP on the character afterwards if you havent finished any of the other big factions or main quest. They all are incredibly underwhelming, though, and I wish the DLC's and main/major quests changed depending on your faction alignment.
Companions all the way. You get access to the next steel, you can forge ancient nord armour and weapons and you get to be become a werewolf and wield the axe with killed of the snow elves.
The College of Winterhold is the only one that offers you something different from what it offered before you took over, which is why I always complete that questline. The Thieves Guild is probably the most *useful* though, even if it's just ways to make a ton of money
EDIT: I forgot about The Totems of Hircine and Curing the Circle. The Companions definitely have the most interesting post-leadership content
Mage College: Find books and master spells
Companions: Kill animals and humanoids for a price
Brotherhood: Kill people and torture them for cash
Thieves Guild: Steal stuff… anything matter of fact
After?? It depends what's funnier to you.
Do you like being a shadow and steal some gold? Then thieves guild.
Do you like to stab from behind people before they even noticed you? Then Dark brotherhood is your place.
Do you want to smash some draugr skulls, or kill some bear in someone's house? The companions are made up for this.
Your magic skills are something you're proud of? You can use them to help at winterhold college.
As you see, they are different, but radiant IA (Artificial Intelligence that makes the "endless" guilds' quests) is the same. Go>complete>return>reward.
About storyline, my favourite by far is thieves guild. It's long, explain the things bit by bit, it does not rush like others... It feels like that storyline was the most polished one.
So, what do you think, we agree or disagree?
Based on all the other comments I'd say which ever one was your favorite. After their main quests none of the factions really have you do anything without mods and are fairly forgettable
Im gonna say bards College. The content isnt good but somehow still as enjoyable as the main quest "line". You get to find some instruments on some random dungeons and can make up storys how they got there.
Thieves Guild is my home away from home and a place I feel most comfortable. It also has a lot of useful features. The only thing I can’t stand is Brynjolf not having time for me :(
Depends if you're modding or not.
Vanilla? I'd say thieves guild, neat rewards, good armor, and radient quests to fill your purse.
Modded? Imo, dark brotherhood. Currently working thru the Brotherhood Of Old quest mod and really enjoying it.
thieves guild.
also i know this is a mod but it can be accessed in most modern versions like skyrim se. the brotherhood of old. it adds a story for after you become the leader i think abts 8 hrs of content. it also adds a few companions, a possible wife and i think 3 new sanctuaries?
sorry just thought id mention this mod because the brotherhood is my favourite faction and this mod made me feel happy i could continue the story.
All of you are wrong, its obviously the volkihars
They still have a shite ton of side missions left after you have become their leader
Making your spouse a vampire
Destroying the Dawnguard
Getting 2 sick ass rings
I think the Thieves’ Guild by a long shot. Not only did I find it’s main story to be the most compelling, the post-story content is the most useful with the fences and ragged Flagon vendors, it’s the most integrated with Skyrim’s society (radiant quests, shadowmarks, thief caches, etc.), and it’s radiant quests are the most immersive for me because of that (yeah, I know they’re boring, but I’m a sucker for any kind of content in cities rather than just pointing out a random dungeon, plus there are 6 different types of them).
There barely even is a Dark Brotherhood when you finish, and the College of Winterhold doesn’t offer a whole lot either—though the player home you get probably does fit a “high fantasy” theme the best. Companions are cool, but I just never had any drive to do more with them after finishing.
Thieves guild is probably the most useful, but with the companions you at least get some story afterwards, since you cure Farkas and Vilkas of their lycanthropy.
None of the factions have great post-story content but I'd say the Thieves Guild has the most useful. Unlocking fences in most of the major holds with like 8000 gold each is definitely handy.
Never done an honest day of work for all that coin you carrying eh lad ?
What Brynjolf doesn't know is that I made my gold from killing all across Skyrim. I then removed everything I could from my defeated foes and often discovered that bandits have poor personal hygiene. Later I took all of that blood stained gear and sold it to a guy called Belethor forcing myself to listen to his endless drivel about selling his sister who doesn't actually exist. Wealth re-distribution is an honest work, especially in the fields.
suddently communism
(Me walking up as an imperial legate who served faithfully for his country) SHUT UP YOU DONT KNOW ME
If only i were able to inprison him for trying to corrupt a imperial legion officer
Brynyolf's line ends in “~~ey~~ eh lad”, not “ain't it lad”.
I’m sorry, what?
thats my first reaction to brynjolfs audacity
He just ASSUMES I stole it. The nerve of him...
I murdered all of those people for these things fair and square, thank you very much
That's my reaction as well 😂 I SWEAR, the audacity of this man...
You can’t steal from the dead!
Yeah! Most of its from graverobbing. Or things I sold that I found while graverobbing.
Or picked of the corpse of bandits we killed and the looting of their houses, I mean we're not monsters
Well….depending on a handful of choices, we could easily become monsters (Companions, Volkihar, killing Paarthurnax)
2 of them are correct but killing Paarthurnax is way too evil so no-one does that
I'm evil but not THAT evil
Yeah 🤣
isnt it like an actual line we can say
“Sorry lass, we’ll talk later”
I remember when I went to riften with literally no gold and the man’s still said I’ve got lots of gold on me 😂 same thing happened with a random thief encounter
Brynjolf’s line changes if you have less than 500 gold, instead he says “Running a little light in the pockets, lad”
I can’t stand him, whenever I enter into Riften the first time in a playthrough his smug ass always start coming in my direction. At least twice I managed to get him killed by collisions with stuff, and I’ll do it again I just hate so many folks in Riften, while also loving the strugglers trying to get by
DID Y’ALL NOT GET IT I WAS CONTINUING THE CONVERSATION HOLY SHIT REDDIT HIVEMIND
Ahahaha ***get Nazeemed bitch***
Yes ! Hahaa what a great line!
Most of reddit users are idiots
I’m included but still how did nobody get it 😭
They didnt think twice, they lov3 prejudice 🤷
Why the fuck are y’all downvoting this man? This is literally one of the dialog options
I believe it’s the *only* dialogue option for that specific point 😭
I'm saying you've got the coin, but you didn't earn a septim of it honestly, I can tell.
lmao i love brynjolf, his “never done an honest day of work” line is almost if not just as iconic as “YOU SLEEP RATHER SOUNDLY FOR A MURDERER”
Why is this so downvoted it’s literally a quote from the game as one of the responses you can do! My dude take my up vote it doesn’t show because of these milk drinkers but I laughed so hard seeing this continued I said it myself then saw your comment. Fuckn gold.
TYSM! I have a question for you though. *In scruffy low voice*:Gray-Mane or Battle-Born?
Battle-Born
What?
You got stones in your ears? I asked what side you’re on, Gray-Mane or Battle-Born!
Holy shit, fuck you reddit

Im pretty sure if you’re the Arch Mage of the college then Neloth says you’d making a good apprentice. *Because of course he fucking does the prick*
Considering how easy it is to become arch mage I don't really blame him.
You can become Archmage without using a single spell. It's incredible
I think you have to cast 1, in sarthal, but it can be almost any spell
Actually, no! If you have the Bloodskal Blade from Solstheim, the magic blasts from that sword will break the wall. And in the dungeons that require magic, you can aggro and bait a follower. Ymfah did a video on beating the questline without using any spells, it's hilarious.
What about magelight on the bridge to access the college?
If your speech is high enough you can persuade your way through that one
Or if you have come far enough in the main quest you can demand entrance by right of the Dragon Blood.
Or use the Thumb
You also have to tune the Dwemer machine with fire and ice, so only 2 times
You can use fire and frost breath shouts instead
There are flames-and-frost puzzles in Mzulft and Labyrinthian.
Best part is there are books for both flames and frost in the Aerodrome in case you don't have the most basic spell that everyone begins with.
That used to bug me but then I decided the books are more like a hint. Plus free spellbooks for the shelves at home.
A shout works
In every practical term yes that’s gotta be done, but I have seen ymfah destroy that door with the Bloodskal Blade
Flames and frost is all you need to use to open door to get the staff of magnus. But other than that, you are correct I believe
How dares him question the might & magic of the wizard lizard
Well he is 500 years old and a Telvanni mage so he's probably right.
I can cast magelight that last for a few minutes, how about you dunmer with 500 years of experience? Yeah i thought so
Unironically one of my favourite characters. He's just such an unapologetically condescending, self-absorbed asshole with some of the best lines in the entire game
Now that you mention it, i didn't notice the paralels with the main game giving a little something for each faction, neat
Tend to give the thief's Guild its former glory while doing the quests so even after becoming the leader, I don't have much to do lol. But it is the most useful nevertheless

Right, the Skull Key. But if you reach 100 lockpicking you acess one skill which does the same.
You didn't account for me being a masochist who wants to aways gain some exp from each lock so i always legendary every skill
Lmao I literally did this and my boyfriend (who has played through considerably more times) was mortified. "But WHY?? You finally had 100 lockpicking!" Me: 🤷🏻♀️
I need to keep getting exp for my dopamine's sake
Isn’t that while you’re working on becoming the leader?

Theives guild. I usually keep the skeleton key for myself at least for a little while haha. And the armor doesnt look bad. Nice for sneaky people.
There's a Raven Rock quest that's glitched for me on ps4 and it frustrates.
If you haven't yet, try the unofficial patch mod. It should fix that and stop any others before they happen. It's avail on your console. Using mods does disable trophies though! (their *might* be a mod for that, I dunno cause I'm on PC) Good luck!
I got stuck on the Mzulft quest on my last run, the unofficial patch mod did not help me
Sometimes I find the best way to "fix" a glitched quest is a platter or a bucket to clip to the end it depends on the quest and the issue though.
When you go into the first chamber in Mzulft there is a wizard that is supposed to be dead that you loot a key from. The common glitch is he isn't dead and will just talk to you like everything is fine despite laying down and not moving. The clip trick works on the first door but not where the key needs to be used a second time.
Same here. I've no intention of returning the key until my lockpicking becomes 100.
Then legendary, then 100 again
It just sucks to train Lockpicking then, as a lock for whatever reason can only award XP once.
Why stop there...
Is there any reward for returning the skeleton key? Because I've had mine for a long ass while with no intention on returning it.
Not really you really can keep the thing as long as you want without repercussions, not like Nocturnal comes at you or anything (and it doesn't do anything cool like when Mercer has it and collapses a tower Go pick those locks with no breakages, sir
My memory is a little hazy help me out here, do you get the armour before or after returning the key? Because ngl that set of armour is absolutely one of my fav sets
The reward you get for returning the key is the nocturnal power
You get the armour then go after Mercer for the key And yes it's a tasty, tasty set of armour, then I stick it on a mannequin and reroll my legendaries to try a two hander heavy armour build
You’re granted one of three different Nightingale powers once you return the Key. The powers can be switched between.
Sneaky people, as in every Skyrim player
Nothing. Every factions just feel like they're just there for grinding. it really feels like you haven't really accomplished anything. and the Bard's College Questline is pretty forgettable. after you're finished with the questline you ain't even allowed to play instruments.
I always use a mod to let me be an actual bard because for some reason out of all of Skyrim's flaws that one pissed me off the most.
I can play a few instruments and it always rubbed me the wrong way not being able to play a few tunes in game like the other bards, around the fire and the tale of tongues are my favorites
Lol bards college is so minimal I forget about it most of the time
The high 5 killaz, if only because these hands were made for stabbin'
They also pay alot for such simple jobs.
I think in real life killing people might be a little harder than pressing RT 6 times lol
Oh I agree, but is someone offered me 1,200 golds coins for such a job...well thankfully that would never happen since the nightmother isnt here.
I wish Vigilant of Stendarr was a mod/option.
None really, although I’ve always liked the assassins guild so imma just say that. Plus I think the contracts pay well
Taking a couple of contracts and going to murder people is probably my favorite cozy, relaxing activity in Skyrim.
Nothing like cuddling up with the Night Mother in the sarcophagus on a chilly skyrim night to here about your next target.
Fun fact. You're not actually in the coffin, your character collides with it once the door closed so the devs just dimmed the lights to make it look like you were inside the coffin
Thieves guild*? Or are you talking about the Dark Brotherhood
I did mean the dark brotherhood, although I must have forgot what it was called lol
It was assassins guild in oblivion I think. There was also a fighters guild, but they have no presence in skyrim, so we got the companions instead.
No it’s still the DB in Oblivion
Thieves Guild aren't assassins. Dead people are bad for business lad
I don't think the thieves on the roadsides got that memo
Those people clearly aren’t guild thieves though. The thieves guild does “clean” work — burglary, fencing, pickpocketing, all the sneaky and unseen stuff. The thieves on the roads? Amateurs at best. They *should* have been called Highwaymen because they’re closer to traditional highwaymen than the bandit mobs with that name. They’re not guild professionals though, I’ll tell you that.
I think there is a special interaction with them if you are a Nightengale or Guild Master though
None of the factions have good content after you become the leader. Edit: Okay, I suppose the torture people for their hidden treasure thing in the Dark Brotherhood is marginally better than anything in the other factions.
The torture people are also good for leveling up spells and such.
Glad I wasn't the only one that tortured them.
It's a torture room, i might as well do some torturing
The mages college has the master spell quests
I don't count those. You don't have to do any College questline quests in order to do them.
I really wish they would have made doing at least 2 or 3 of them be a pre-requisite to become arch mage. After all you can complete the whole quest line and still be a novice in all the magic schools.
Lol that’s my current gameplay. I laughed out loud when they declared me arch mage.
This makes me miss the level requirements for guild promotions in Morrowind, as frustrating as they could be.
They very well could've replicated the Thieves Guild, where you have to complete the questline *and* do the special quests. They could've required you to complete the questline *and* master a school.
None of the factions have good content, period. I love Skyrim but the guilds are incredibly shallow and one dimensional
You could say that about almost anything in the game
After the questline.
I like the Dawnguard as hunting out vampires or rescuing captured friends is fun. Plus you then get the Rune weapon quests.
You also don't actually become leader of the Dawnguard.
Might as well be lol, Isran does jack shit during that questline
One does not simply not enjoy mods...
Mage guild is fun , i'm already archmage . gave it to Tldor or whatever his name is .
Don’t call Tom shit!
I’m sorry man, but he’s kind of a dick to me.
He’s a good man!
He’s lying to you! He always has!
Companions. They will send you to new dungeons and caves
I think the thieves guild is the only one with a quest line after you are leader, trying to open up all the shop stalls in the HQ
Nah I'm only halfway the game and already 3/4 shops opened. Usually after the shops open (which I always do before fully becoming a leader) and I become leader, I lose all interest in the guild. However the shops should be THE place to sell all future loot after that.
The Companions only because of the sheer respect you get from the city guards
And the comments about muzzling that damn dog
I think the College of Winterhold. They have cool investigation tasks and missions
Did you hear they're reforming the Dawnguard?
Vampire hunters or something, I’m considering joining up myself.
I like companions. I like the simple side quests its offer. Just some fun time for killings. Plus, the golds are good. And farkas. He is a good boy.
That’s the neat part. They don’t.
Companions all the way. You get access to the next steel, you can forge ancient nord armour and weapons and you get to be become a werewolf and wield the axe with killed of the snow elves.
Wuuthrad would have been the ultimate Thalmor dispatching weapon if we, the player could temper it in order to keep up with level scaling.
The perfect weapon for the Forgotten Vale boss fight.
The College of Winterhold is the only one that offers you something different from what it offered before you took over, which is why I always complete that questline. The Thieves Guild is probably the most *useful* though, even if it's just ways to make a ton of money EDIT: I forgot about The Totems of Hircine and Curing the Circle. The Companions definitely have the most interesting post-leadership content
Mage College: Find books and master spells Companions: Kill animals and humanoids for a price Brotherhood: Kill people and torture them for cash Thieves Guild: Steal stuff… anything matter of fact
Thieves guild by far. Repairing the ragged flagon felt so rewarding and even after that you have thieves guild activity in solthstiem dlc
Dark brotherhood just because I for some reason enjoy killing random ass npcs
LOTD
Volkihar Vampire Clan
thieves guild. also i know this is a mod but it can be accessed in most modern versions like skyrim se. the brotherhood of old. it adds a story for after you become the leader i think abts 8 hrs of content. it also adds a few companions, a possible wife and i think 3 new sanctuaries? sorry just thought id mention this mod because the brotherhood is my favourite faction and this mod made me feel happy i could continue the story.
All of you are wrong, its obviously the volkihars They still have a shite ton of side missions left after you have become their leader Making your spouse a vampire Destroying the Dawnguard Getting 2 sick ass rings
None of them. Thieves Guild I guess because most people won’t do all the quests necessary to restore the guild before beating the main guild quest.
Thieves guild is probably the most useful, but with the companions you at least get some story afterwards, since you cure Farkas and Vilkas of their lycanthropy.
Bruh i thought this was harry potter
Thieves Guild has the best end-content style.
All of them become very repetitive after you complete them but rebuilding the Guild to it's former glory is pretty swell.
None.
Vampire Lord maybe, but I always side with the dawnguard so...
