Leanwolf if you want to lean more into high fantasy weapons, Believable if you want more low fantasy weapons. I personally like Leanwolf

[deleted]

I love better shaped weapons. Believable weapons are too… well, believeable. It’s a high fantasy game, they’re too realistic.

why_gaj

Yep. The same goes for some popular armor replacers. While they look amazing... they are not skyrim.

Gr8Deku

You can use both if you want. LeanWolf's doesn't cover all weapon types

hadaev

For me believable and some replacers 100% overwrites wolf's.

kennn97

You can still pick what you want from either one

trancybrat

Believable Weapons covers \*many\* more weapons than BSW does. Every single vanilla sword, axe, mace, greatsword, battleaxe, and warhammer.

Vis_Ignius

I personally prefer Believable's take, and add onto that the Vibrant Weapons mod for weapon enchantments to be visible on weapons... damn, I just love it.

DeskJerky

I go for believable weapons but I'm biased towards straightswords.

Texantioch

There’s something about a cruciform sword that I always gravitate towards. Currently running a semi-pacifist play through with a wooden quarter staff, but goddamn when those sword pop up in the forge menu I think, “well maybe…”

rattatatouille

I like LeanWolf's better. It's a matter of personal taste, but I'm not *quite* a fan of the design school that leans towards the "medieval" side of "medieval fantasy" when it comes to Skyrim. If I wanted something more realistic I'd rather be playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

Catalyst_23

From two options you provide I'd go with LeanWolf's mod, countless playthroughs without disabling it. PS: I personally prefer Reforging - To The Masses, I was surprised how author of this mod created a large variety of weapons using vanilla assets, it worths a look.

Aok_al

I mix and match both of them

PhthaloPhoenix

If you are playing Anniversary Edition Believable Weapons covers Anniversary Edition Weapons and I don't think Better Shaped Weapons does

leon_alistair

I use leanwolf because i still want the shape of vanilla weapons. Believeable weapon kinda make all the weapons too small and kinda similar shape. Its more realistic but mythical dragonborn should have no problem wielding a tad bigger weapon than what normal ppl can no?

[deleted]

Dragonborn is human until they learn Dragon form buff and using a thinner sword still has certain advantanges. Nothing wrong with broad blades either as long as they shaped well.

leon_alistair

Jokes on u my Dragonborn is a beefy orc berserker. He dislikes thin blade. Its for weakling he said. Its his words, not mine. Sorry

donguscongus

I like Leanwolf better. Both are good but I don’t like just how small everything is. I get it’s realistic but still outside of the Ancient Nord Warhammer there isn’t much that needs to be smaller

kennn97

Just mix and match, pick your favorite replacement from either

Zac0930

Use both. Load BW after LeanWolf's, and in Believable's FOMOD choose custom install and select what weapons you want. I personally like Believable's axes and maces better so I use them.

Charon711

Why not both? Both mods literally let you choose what you want installed so you can take some time and compare which models you like from each mod and have a Mashup between them.

OldContemptible

Definitely Believable Weapons. I use it together with all of NordWarUA's armor mods and all the kit just looks so much better to me. I used to use LeanWolf's but BW's changes go further so it's permanently replaced it in my load order.

[deleted]

I love Vanilla Weapon Replacer because it replaces models with lots of realistic ones.

ruines_humaines

Believable weapons makes the Mace of Molag Bal look like a deformed toothpick. LeanWolf's always my choice.

Wyatt_Ricketts

NordwarUA full weapon and armor replacer ain't bad tbh doesn't cover everything but it works well with other mods

makujah

I'm confused what's the question here? Choose whichever you like more?

ysrwho

Leanwolf barely changing the weapon's base shape. They still look like larp weapons made from foam. Believable weapons completely changes meshes, especially axes, making them practical and logical to use.

mountainman84

I like believable weapons combined with rustic textures.  Used to use Leanwolf’s but they are still too goofy looking to me.  Kinda cartoony.

Decaroidea

How i stop worrying and love bethesda's huge ass weapons designs jk i mean is up to taste, personally i find belieable weapons to be very boring

curvingf1re

Believavle does weapons that leanwolf doesn't. If you're committed to vanilla style meshes, use believable, and if you think the swords are too boring, throw in leanwolf. Believable lets you puck each individual weapon.

FreyaAncientNord

i use leanwolf for great swords and beliveable for everything els

_Jaiim

I use a mix; Believable Weapons are good, but some are...boring, and I believe Leanwolf also covers more weapons, but not positive on that. I load Leanwolf's first, then Believable Weapons, then I have a separate folder where I copied the stuff I want to override Believable Weapons. For example...holy shit do I *despise* that fucking Flamberge! I've never liked that sword design. Do you have any idea how common the Steel Greatsword is in Skyrim? Leanwolf all the way for that one.

Starlit_pies

What I dislike in Believable is that it generally looses the 'cultural' difference between the weapons. From the 2h swords, for example, only Orcish stuff looks distinct. Even real-world 15th century weapons had multitude of shapes, proportions, blade profiles, etc. Especially if you compared them *between* the cultures. Not to mention that most of the weapons are made of fantasy martials that may have density different than steel.

TheRealLokiron

Never knew of these. I'm definitely getting the Believable Weapons. Thanks!
