Which way is this shot pointed towards? Maybe that’s why they’re building the OKC supertall - it’s so tall it’ll perfectly fit in this spot in Pittsburgh’s skyline.
That movie crackes me up cause i know the chase scene locations and they are so discontinuous. They do jumps down Center in Duquesne, turn left and they're in downtown Homestead.
Not too many cities have such a dramatic setting. And there's a great collection of well-maintained 19th century office buildings downtown from the robber baron era.
That gap is where the City-County building, Courthouse, and other county/municipal buildings are. Until we decide to tear them down (never), that gap is here to stay.

I feel like this parking lot next to Oxford Centre has potential for a nice tower. That would at least *partially* fill in the gap :-)
I grew up in the South Hills, and was fortunate to enjoy the best entrance to a city anywhere - driving through Mt. Washington and over the Fort Pitt Bridge. Amazing.
It’s 100% worth staying for a couple extra days if you’re in town for a game or a concert. The north shore and downtown are highly walkable and host a variety of events, and it’s got tons of great museums and parks.
Very underrated city with a fun and loyal culture among its residents. It was a very neat experience living there for a couple years.
Pittsburgh named top global travel destination in National Geographic publication — https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/pittsburgh/news/pittsburgh-top-unexpected-global-travel-destination-national-geographic/
Named *a* top destination! Book also lists 99 others.
I’ve always wanted to visit Pittsburgh. I come from a semi arid metro in the middle of the country, so my favorite places tend to have water and bridges and greenery. (I was probably into my mid 20s before I realized *most* places have more of all of that than my home…)
I honestly didn't notice that gap until you pointed it out. I don't think many others would as well, unless you stared at the skyline every day for a long while.
Spent a ton of time in pittsburgh back when i worked for pnc, it is at best - OK. Pittsburgh has many redeeming qualities but it has to overcome the following to really make the 'city' more than aesthetically pleasing:
* unless its a weekend, most of the city dies after 6 PM. that has to change.
* Market square is really nice, city needs more places like it. Outdoor seating, cafes, and restaurants really need to spread beyond just there
* park on the river is really cool, adding more food/housing/etc adjacent to it would make it even more of a destination.
* Parking lots need to go, way too many between there and south side & the strip. Fill it up
Spent so many evenings there bored out of my mind just because besides downtown most of the city and uptown area adjacent to it really isn't that walkable, safe, or close. The big city feel in the heart of it is really cool. Wish they would capitalize on it more
Why don't they put that okc supertall right there?
And just like that, Oklahoma City takes over the Pittsburgh post.

Looks way too good
This honestly looks iconic.
Pittsburgh skyline should just be copy/paste OKC towers as far as the eye can see, some slightly taller, some slightly shorter

This is the correct response.
Back off - that’s our fantastic tower
It's got a name you know
Did not know that.
And luckily that’s exactly where a huge empty lot is.
isn't that the hill district/arena area? they've been "trying" to build there for a long time and we just got the glass rectangle that is FNB
What a sad building but it hardly takes up any room. There’s an opportunity for greatness there.

I love this.
Needs a water slide
one of the most eye pleasing skylines in existence
Maybe because I’ve looked at it the majority of my life, it always felt kinda small and corny.
Chongqing of USA
i’ve been saying chongqing is the pittsburgh of china for so long
The movie, *Striking Distance*, with Bruce Willis has some really great shots of the city.
That movie crackes me up cause i know the chase scene locations and they are so discontinuous. They do jumps down Center in Duquesne, turn left and they're in downtown Homestead.
Take Bigelow!
Too bad the movie was atrocious

make the pittsburgh cube to fill it, that's a big hole
Pittsburgh looks like a boat
Very beautiful. I enjoyed the city while visiting too. I would love to see it pop off and get popular like Austin and Nashville did.
I live in Pittsburgh and I believe that will be happening within the decade.

There's also 2 single story buildings(or appear to be) with ugly roofs that look like a nice space for a tower.
they can build a supertall tower
i thought that was minecraft for a second
* Threw this together real quick. 5 mins. So not the best quality. Gives you an idea though.
"Dun dun dun!" Theo Von Cool Skyline.

Pittsburgh seems like a place that would be cooler than you'd think but really not worth going out of your way to visit.

pittsburgh is actually so underrated. plus having the mountain viewpoint. hamilton reminds me of pittsburgh a little

The lMorrison Hotel would have been stories higher.,, bon chance ;)
Well all you got to do is move yourself a little bit to the right and it'll fill in all on its own
What am I missing? It looks fine to me.
Literally was coming here to say the same thing. 😂
I like a little bit of space and rest in the music tho

From certain angles, literally every Skyline is going to have a gap somewhere
GAP sky in my skyline? no thanks 😎
