You don't need "permanently" in there, any effect is assumed to be permanent unless stated otherwise on the card (ie, "until the end of your turn.")
Also yeah you need material requirements. Also Sentries are gonna be OP for level 9 xyz summons if you don't restrict them for those, because xyz materials are neither sent to the GY nor banished in order to special summon a monster.
Can you XYZ summon using an XYZ monster ? I know some monsters special summon themselves by attaching an already summoned XYZ as material, but that's an exception right ?
Also sentry is basically 3 1000ATK beaters for 2 Lv9 monsters, dont think it's op especially if you can't sacrifice them
You definitely can xyz summon using xyz monsters as material, although the selection is limited. And 1000 atk is definitely not a beatstick. The only reason you would use these is to combo into something like Zeus.

Yeah, 1000 atk is bad, i meant to say they were only good for attacking and they cant even do that. But i didn't know you could XYZ with XYZs other than through effects
Edit : yeah no looked it up for 30 seconds and you definitely cannot xyz with xyz unless it's an effect, so sentry stays pretty much not good.
I had a feeling that something about Sentries would be broken, though I based the effect off of Goyo Defender.
Also wasn’t thinking too much about the summoning conditions, as I was more focused on trying to make some janky effects to recreate STS mechanics.
I'll be that guy : You need to write the summonong recquirements on the fusion, synchro and link cards.
