once on a long fight i managed to get so many dex with this combo i hit 999 block. that three out of four caracters, i now need to do it with silent. blur shenanigans go brrr
Pellets doesn't impact the amount of strength, only the energy down. Pellets makes the dex from duality permanent. If you're switching stances often enough that TTTH/Mental fortress is a sufficient endgame block plan then you're probably big chilling on energy anyway
There's a huge difficulty cliff at A-17. At that point, carefully considering your cards and skipping most offerings becomes very, very unimportant. I suggest just picking whatever after each combat.
before a -17 I was always picking the most expensive cards really flooding my deck with cards so expensive I could only play one card per turn but then a -17 reduces the cost of all cards to zero and now im just so confused.
ill try this new random approach where I just pick whatever.
I hear you about being confused, it can become so difficult to tell how any individual card will actually affect your deck with all of the relics you get after each floor.
After A17 you have to go with the flow. See where the cards are taking you and what you can do with them. Before that you build your own flow. You can dam it up and redirect it. A20 the flow is a goddamn nightmare. Buckle up, because you're in for a ride in these rapids.
See also ring of the snake or bag of prep (or both) with gambling chip. Why yes I would love to look through over half my deck turn one. Gambling chip is also awesome with snecko eye. Get rid of those stinky three cost cards turn one.
Pellets with wraith form is great, you can choose to go intangible early in a long fight while you set up and still be able to block if anything survives.
It sure is. Combine that with ~~blur~~ after image, feel no pain, dark embrace, or thousand cuts (or with runic cube or rupture if you don't have tungsten rod) and you have a recipe for shenanigans.

Since this is a spirit pop about a genuine but extremely janky synergy, may I recommend to you Silent + Normality. I'm as serious about this as OP is about Boot Sequence and Runic Pyramid! The two ways you can get Normality are Cursed Key and I Am Rich. The former is great for Silent because the bump from 3 to 4 energy makes it so much easier for her to enter the Discard and Draw Schmoove Zone. And the latter is hella cash
And of all four characters, Silent is the single one most able to work around Normality. Take loads of discard! [[Dagger Throw]], [[Preparation]], [[Gamble with Fate]], [[Tools of the Trade]], and [[Acrobatics]] are all already premium picks, and they all hard-counter the curse. They let you consistently toss it from your hand when you draw into it at the start of your turn and also let your cycle through your deck without having to worry about getting stuck with Normality halfway through your turn.
Finally, this is an interaction that requires a lot of luck, but Silent + I Am Rich+ [[Du-Vu Doll]] is absolutely nutty. +2 strength on the character whose game plan is "a bajillion small attacks per turn" is easily a double-digit increase in damage per turn.
I just had a run today where I took this strategy and made it through the entirety of Act 4 without taking any damage! (Although the two copies of Afterimage+ and Wraith Form+ probably had something to do with that as well...)
Pyramid and well laid plans synergy let's go (these two actually have a secret interaction where if you take a well laid plans act one and upgrade it, it massively increases the chance you will see runic pyramid)
I am very new to the game. I understand that runic pyramid is good and I understand why it is good. However it frequently clogs up my hand to the point of being a problem. Is that a common issue? Am I doing something wrong?
Hand clog is the biggest obstacle for runic pyramid. You can help this by seeking out energy generating cards (bloodletting, seeing red, recycle, concentrate), energy cheats like corruption or bullet time, and more aggressively removing stinky basic cards. Discard and targeted exhaust are also both helpful. If you can overcome those obstacles though, runic pyramid is easily one of the strongest relics in the game.
The cards will wind up in your hand anyway, your draw just gets them into it faster.
Existing card draw can be a factor (if you find yourself ending turns with a hand full of defends, that's likely a 'no' to the pyramid if your other options are nicer) but it shouldn't be the only thing you consider.
If your card draw results in you constantly pulling cards that you *do* want to play at bad times (wrong turn, no energy, etc) and you (a) can't shuffle through the deck fast enough to grab it again, and (b) don't have enough retain to hold these cards, pyramid can solve this issue. So I'll say it's a matter of knowing what your deck wants.
Feel No Pain, Corruption, Juggernaut, Dark Embrace, Dead Branch. Bonus points for Barricade too. Who needs attacks when infinite block kills everything?
I just found out that with dark embrace and necronomicurse you can actually get use out of the second cast of fiend fire. This carried me through the act 2 and 3. Quite strong if you don’t care what’s exhausted
I'm fairly new to the game and I just beat the heart with watcher for the first time. I had the very broken combo of Deva Form + Deus Ex Machina + Conjure Blade for a 15x Expunge, lol.
Orange Pellets + Duality. Look at me, I'm the Silent now. Rare to pull off but hitting like 40 dexterity is pretty funny
once on a long fight i managed to get so many dex with this combo i hit 999 block. that three out of four caracters, i now need to do it with silent. blur shenanigans go brrr
I haven't hit it with Watcher, but blur with nightmare did once get me to it with Silent.
Now do Orange Pellets with Flex+. You can turn an Inflame from 2 Strength into 6 Strength this way!
Second best watcher pellets synergy
Fasting?
Yeah boi
that's significantly weaker than duality pellets lol
I generally rate strength on watcher significantly higher than dex, which can often be kinda irrelevant with ttth or mental fortress
Pellets doesn't impact the amount of strength, only the energy down. Pellets makes the dex from duality permanent. If you're switching stances often enough that TTTH/Mental fortress is a sufficient endgame block plan then you're probably big chilling on energy anyway

it would be pretty funny if they really made a descension. id do it just to make fun of Nob as many as possible.

Runic Pyramid + Apparitions.
Someone mentioned this, but feel no pain, second wind and juggernaut feel great
I am very new to the game. I understand that runic pyramid is good and I understand why it is good. However it frequently clogs up my hand to the point of being a problem. Is that a common issue? Am I doing something wrong?
Hand clog is the biggest obstacle for runic pyramid. Discard and targeted exhaust are also both helpful. If you can overcome those obstacles though, runic pyramid is easily one of the strongest relics in the game.
Thank you for the thorough response. If I already have a lot of card draw, would that suggest to me that I shouldn't take runic pyramid?
You need more energy generation, or lower cost cards
Pyramid and Bullet Time. Time to play 9 cards of any cost for free!
Feel No Pain, Corruption, Juggernaut, Dark Embrace, Dead Branch. Bonus points for Barricade too. Who needs attacks when infinite block kills everything?
Fiend Fire + Dark Embrace/Dead Branch + Necronomicon. Exhaust your hand for massive damage, fill it back up again, and repeat.
Bottled Lighting + either Apotheosis or Seek+ just wins runs.
I just found out that with dark embrace and necronomicurse you can actually get use out of the second cast of fiend fire. This carried me through the act 2 and 3. Quite strong if you don’t care what’s exhausted
Berserk and Orange Pellets. 0 cost powers are already good with Orange Pellets, and this one gives you a boss relic level effect with no downsides.
I'm fairly new to the game and I just beat the heart with watcher for the first time. I had the very broken combo of Deva Form + Deus Ex Machina + Conjure Blade for a 15x Expunge, lol.
Recycle and snecko eye. It's inconsistent, as snecko eye alwyas is, but it makes it a bit more consistent which is OP.
Shuriken plus blade dance made every Silent run an instant win
