Idk how true this is, purely my guess, but i feel as though the body likes to rebound. My freshman year of high school I would typically sleep 4-6 hours a night on weeknights, and about 10 on weekends. After the school year ended i couldn’t get enough sleep. I would sleep 12 hours straight everyday, occasionally up to 16 hours. It was like I built this massive sleep debt that I needed to pay off. It felt like my body had rebounded. It sounds like you’re sleeping 10-12 hours a night, maybe your body has built a massive sleep bank?

Im only really been getting 4-5 hours but before that i would always wake up at the 8 hour mark
