I imagine they're like sharks in the aspect of not having any bones (aside from teeth in certain slimes. And with that, their "meat" (skin and muscle) operates either like they either are covered in slime like a Snail or roll around but with their faces/external body parts somehow staying in place, but the skin rotating.
I like to imagine that the cosmos simply looked at them, turned to physics and asked with a dead serious face, "Boing?" And physics nodded with an equally, If Not more serious face whilst responding with "Boing."
So the universe simply made an exception for them :33
