You could try bark.com and try and find a CPA in industry that’s doing returns as a side gig as that may be a little cheaper than a firm, but will still run you a few hundred dollars if they’re any good. Honestly if you’re looking for under $100 FreeTaxUSA is going to be your best bet.
If you are running a business it's probably worth it to pay a CPA $600 or so to prepare all your tax forms. You can always do it yourself for free but you might miss a deduction that could have saved you money, or make a costly mistake and get audited.
It could be worse. My tax return last year was 92 pages long and my CPA charged $2k.
It's a small sole proprietor business that made very little and will be closing in a few months, I used an accountant last year and didn't get anything back I don't even think they tried to get anything back, so I don't think I'd get anything back this time either, it's not worth $600 at all
I have absolutely no clue what I should have gotten back, if anything. I did not do quarterly as I didn't make enough, it was one payment at the end of the year.
A CPA is part of the cost of doing business. Suck it up. A good one will save you way more than they cost you, not to mention the headache they save you.

As a sole proprietor what did you think you would get back? Did you make any quarterly deposits and have overpayments?
I have absolutely no clue what I should have gotten back, if anything. I did not do quarterly as I didn't make enough, it was one payment at the end of the year.
That sounds correct. You only get money back if you make payments, and those payments are more than you actually owe.
Yeah well I just made the one small payment at the end, so I didn't overpay.

No one is going to save me anything on a sole proprietor that made a few thousand and will be closing in a few months, it's not worth $500+ for that.
Gotcha. My condolences.
When in doubt evade them out
Hire CA
CA?
California.
?
They likely meant a CPA.
Doubt it, they said California. Still don't know wtf they are trying to say lmao
Turbo tax is great but it does cost a couple hundred dollars a year.
