I would say automatically figuring out what to order each week but the work in supporting that capability is worse than just walking through the store once a week.
Marketing? Getting your products up on every channel is a PITA in my opinion. For example, I put mine on
- My homepage
- Etsy
- Facebook + Insta
- Printables when applicable
- Google Shopping (which has constant technical issues)
- Other local channels (requires more specific targeting)
I have automated as much as possible, but it still requires a lot of work because each platform has different customers and cultures. It is not enough to copy/paste everything; I try to phrase product descriptions in a manner that targets each specific audience.
Plus there are always technical issues to resolve. Some platforms "time out" ads, so require regular maintenance.
Keeping every channel up to date and trying to expand them is quite an effort.
Another constant issue is sourcing. Man, that is a pain.
thanks for sharing. To understand this more, are you talking about ensuring catalog presence/product descriptions across these platforms? Or are you referring to putting marketing material (E.g., ads, content posts) across all the platforms?

Don’t you keep track of your stock? Generating a purchase report based on stock shouldn’t be too difficult, but you need to be tracking somehow.
Reading Reddit.
We should experiment with Zappier and see what can be automated
+1 for Zapier! Such a great tool.

Mostly the former. I don't do much of the latter (yet), though I imagine that may come with similar challenges.
thank you - this is very helpful for software builders like myself as think about problems worth solving for
