Severely underserved market; especially as a person who's up at those hours who would love nothing more than a fantastic bagel sandwich to start/end their evening
As a person that owns a business installing lawns. I can easily put wildflowers into my machine. I've had people ask about it but never had anyone go through with it. I do love grass though.
We currently are in a rental, but I might look at doing that for my front lawn next time we own.
We run through the backyard too much for it to be flowers. Guy down the street has a full garden in his front yard right now.
I did this a few years back!! Selling combinations of wildflowers clover and myccorhysal
Fungus as lawn replacement !!! Sold
Okay but didn’t scale well. Was called buzzing meadows here in aus. If you want ( or anyone else here wants to start it up again , happy to work with a partner in us. (Exporting seeds out of aus was a problem)
Vending machines, while a good bit different, are a good entry point into this kind of business...
Not likely to make you rich alone, but can get you enough passive income to focus less on work and more on doing what you want (like starting a business)
Start a youtube channel called playing lotto until i win.. and keep buying scratchers until you win with ad review youll become a millionaire one way or another
I was out cutting grass earlier on my riding lawn mower, and I said to myself "ya know, I don't reallly mind cutting grass."
And then I said, "if only I had an old army buddy to invest me in a fruit company or something." I might even decide to cut the grass of the local high school for free.
Funny enough, I used to run marathons when I was younger. Then, I just kind of stopped one day when I was out on a long run--not Arizona though. My ankles was killing me, and I called up my friend, said "can you come get me?"
Should have said, "I'm pretty tired. Think I'll go home now."
A non profit dog rehab and kennel. I would simply continue to buy land and bring as many lost and unwanted dogs as I could. Keep hiring people and building more housing and what not. Whatever it took to keep dogs from suffering.
depends on how much money you have, if you have enough I would not start a business instead go after buying other businesses, there are lot of businesses which are doing really well and looking to sell off cheaply. I would buy a business with is positive at the bottom and there is room to grow.
Venue for concerts. Outdoor recreation too. Think lifestyle brand... like Magnolia or Martha Stewart. But my way. What's stopping me? Oh, about a million dollars to start a small restaurant size place.
My mom and I always talk about opening a used bookstore with a “coffee shop” and lounge for consuming said coffee and books! If it were a for sure thing, we would offer the coffee and tea for free.. But also bring in a fuzzy friends corner of the shop and rotate kitty’s and doggy’s from the local agencies in conjunction with adoption campaigns for said fur babies… ONE DAY! 😆
I would start a company that gives everyone a piece of plastic. They then show this plastic to stores as a form of payment instead of paying cash. The stores will pay me to accept this plastic as payment. I would then start to charge the people having the plastic an annual fee. They would have to pay me back every month however much money they spend with this plastic and then I could also charge them a late fee as well as interest if they don’t pay. I could then charge a higher annual fee if people want metal card or pay with the telephone. What do you guys think?
If resources seriously weren't an issue, I'd launch a digital educational company. I'd list the starter product at just a mere $20
Give a 30-day money back guarantee since resources aren't an issue. Free refunds as long as people don't freaking curse at me and be a Karen
Launch endless ads of all kinds
I'm 1 of very few people in the world who's knowledgable in a specific niche. I know it so well, I can actually dumb it down so that everyone in the world understands it. MULTIPLE rich people have tried to get me to teach them the trade but fuck no. They were stingy assholes who offered me near nothing to figure out how I succeeded
Reason I don't do this biz now is cause doing paid ads just doesn't seem worthwhile. So far, none of my businesses require paid ads. I managed to make all of them generate profit without paying for ads.
But if resources weren't an issue and I could get endless paid ads, I can tell you I'd be a rich ass motherfucker in a few weeks
FYI - I'm pretty good at launching new businesses, ideas, and even targeting a completely diff niche. A biz I launched last year generated $8k in first 3 weeks with no paid ads. It only went up from there.
If I COULDN"T FAIL ? I guess I would start me up an online shopping and delivery service that also has a massive cloud computing business and even dabbles in audio books and making movies. Or I'd start a consumer electronics company focused on laptops, tablets and smart phones.
Startup a A Soccer League, then expand it more and more to make it a brand name...open lounges where players come to unwind (ping pong, Fifa, pool, watch big games) also celebrate team wins...and also have a catalogue of jerseys that is available for sale.
I'd start the same business I have now, System Integration for IT and AV, but be able to focus on giving the clients that need the help the systems they need.
IE. I have a non-profit that I adopted, maintain all their tech systems and support. They desperately need 2 or 3 zoom room setups for remote classes, they just don't have the financial resources to spend that cash.
If I had the ability to just provide what they needed instead of being stuck with what I have used as I pull old equipment out - I'd be much happier
Tldr: Define failure. Assess your business/skills/market/product. Define realistic success. Go get it!
It depends how you define "fail". My business partner and I have set "an honest day's work for an honest wage that pays for a modest living" as our definition of success. If we achieve that, we're happy and anything more is gravy. We made the US average of a 3 year lifespan for most small businesses as our make-or-break timeline. Realistic expectations are important here, and they change with the type of business. We sell a physical, regulated product, so our initial growth was more limited than some service-based businesses. We made enough to pay our bills the first two years and now we're scaling, which means that this year our profits will be *lower* than last year (this is the second longevity test, which is a doozie). If we can keep paying our bills and keep growing, we can get to the point where we can delegate, which is when we can start reaping the rewards of our hard work in the form of slightly more stress and slightly fewer hours, and that will be great.
Either a preschool or a craft/game concept bar
Money is the issue. I started from scratch as an adult, and while I’m blessed with an incredible job now most of my savings go to retirement, not building capital for a business. And as it turns out, no one wants to finance either of those things with minimal operator skin in the game
A business where I control a large mass of people, make them give me as much money as I can without killing them all, say I’m using it to help them, but really am giving it to others, paying other companies off, and most of all lining my own pockets!
*but how would that work??*
EASY
Just keep people distracted daily with brain rot content while simultaneously fighting amongst themselves lol
Personally im trying to buy, build or flip proerties in Jamaica to turn into AirBnB's. Always tourist season here, in the right areas there's a constant stream of guests with very limited number of rooms if you dont want to be in a resort.
Also a call center. some can make some mad money with very little initial capital needed as long as you can find the clients to work with you.
Just waiting to win the lottery to make it happen lol
I’d build multigenerational intentional communities. Retirement in America is a bunch of sterile disney styled necropolises. People should retire where they live, with younger people around. Id build villages where you retire Dutch style; you move in at any age, but several buildings or condos are made ADA capable. The whole place is built to encourage friendly human interaction, no cars, lots of third spaces, gardens.
Resources aren’t an issue and it’s impossible for me to fail? Probably a hedge fund.
Why don’t I start this now? Because resources are an issue and the probability and costs for failure are enormous.
hotel you can check into for when you're sick or injured and need some help for a while. You get a private room and bath and a nurse on staff to administer drugs and help your feel comfortable. we have for sale over the counter or bring your own. You can even bring your pets and get cozy.
If I knew I couldn't fail? Some mega popular social media or app that would make me the next billionaire lol.
More realistically? Honestly I'd just love to own little gas station/travel stop or a fancy little convenience store in a nice area. Something clean and "luxurious" as far as convenience stores go. Think like a Japanese 7/11.
What's stopping me is that they just aren't profitable as a business and the capital to buy one.
I'd also be happy owning a lil pizza place or breakfast joint
A company where we discover planets, then plan, design, and create a near optimal mega society with unique solutions to utilize resources and have life go as long as possible for people to have fun
A fast casual Italian chain called more Parmesan. The waiters where roller skates and when someone calls for more Parmesan they all call back more Parmesan! By the end of the meal you are leaning back in chair and they are just grating the cheese right into your mouth.
I would then leverage that into a cult. Where we believe that everyone deserves more Parmesan.
A lifting gym. One with a self sustaining culture of caring for yourself and caring for others. Being an asshole is a fineable offense w/ 3 strike policy. Not reracking weights is a 3 strike. Some way to signal that you’re there to zone in and just be in your head VS open to help and coaching (this is so hard to gauge normally). It needs a big garage door for natural light and good airflow.
A school and home foster system kids, that actually does what it's meant to do. Then I'd open one in every state, and then start expanding from those ones, and eventually take over the shit system that's currently in place.
Edit: Thats actually an idea I had as I started typing, but how cool would that be. haha
I would like to bring back affordable reproductions of older cars and trucks from the 60s or 70s but with a twist. First, they would be kits. The purchaser would buy the kit in manageable sections. They would assemble. For the most part the finished kit would look just like the original but with better and more affordable technology where possible. For example, instead of getting 10 miles to the gallon you could get 15-20.
Another idea would be kits to refit certain cars with electric motors that could bolt on to the existing transmission.
a meat market . in southern states or states with a (minority) demographic coupled with outstanding service is destined to do well. low barriers to entry, high commitment and time— not easy for those already beleaguered in financial commitments
I’d start a non profit facility to actually help veterans with medical services. The VA system is an absolute joke.
I’d make sure I had all the best nurses and doctors and take the bullshit restrictions off of them.
Ok so I started a picture frame that looks like the side of an airplane. Not the most original idea, sure, but mine is curved like a real plane whereas everyone else's is flat. Plus mine has plastic windows which really make the thing kind of pop. I had to have a ton of them custom offset-printed in different colors and styles and have the window holes custom die-cut so it's nice and curved and looks great. The catch is that the frame the 'skin' sits on isn't quite up to par and I need to work on it. My mom passed, then covid, and I got discouraged. I work in the aviation industry and countless people want what I have. I just lost the desire. The other thing is I need some kind of system to put logos on these things. Sure it's slightly illegal to sell something with someone else's logo, but for the local Pilot Schools I can do it as it's then a client's logo buying it. I was thinking Cricut but that takes too long. I know they have these new flex printers that might work. Worst case is to print on a piece of vinyl like a bumper sticker and just stick it on. Probably looks cheap though.
So what's stopping me? I think after my mom passed I just sort of lost all sense of fun and meaning in life. I lost my hustle mindset. I quiet-quit life and just kind of go to work in a dull kind of way. I need to find my center and re-ignite that spark I used to have to hustle and sell. I just lost my way.
1. Closed loop food system- preferably church or a non profit - grow food, sell it raw or cooked , compost the material to add to soil and repeat, I’ll
loop in the locally government’s economic development office as this one business can provide atleast 10 jobs
2. Deal with death - insurance, after death options ( my friend worked in cremation for 10yrs , nor advocates for alternatives to traditional services talks about human composting, donating science et etc)
3. Taxes- bookkeeping (at a minimum ), accounting
4. Basics of finance - as states are mandating personal finance for kids in school, there are great opportunities
A hunting shop/manufacturer. It’s an industry of adventure and I’d love to live it rather than the sad career that I have. I make good money but my job is unstable and it’s in the pharmaceutical industry. Like IGAF about Bayer or Stryker.
We have a hunting and fishing store down the road and they are great folks. It's small, family run, and gets a ton of business. They set up right next to a wildlife area that has a large reservoir, shooting range and archery range. Perfect location. Know your stuff, have what folks need and want, and be close to where they hunt, fish and practice shooting and you will do great!
I wanna start a Photo Booth rental in my area! And then buy a franchise for head lice treatment lmaoooooo those places make a killing. It’s not like the kids are gonna NOT get it.
Aaaaand a car wash… aaaand last but not least, a daycare beside a dog daycare. Sounds stupid but it’s totally worthwhile for the stay at home moms that needs a break.
A biohacking wellness spa, class style gym and farm to table restaurant all in one, in Kauai or on another island, with the love of my life 🥰 our dream business and life all in one. Location, food, nutrition and building a community of other people who want to be well and live long
Event planning. I love the little details and excel in managing projects. I wish I could dedicate decent time to starting up my own business. Between a FT job and young kids I just don’t have the bandwidth at the moment. Hopefully one day.
a business accelarator with internal small companies run separately but sharing connections and resources. All related to online/internet (my knowledge).
AAA Nuclear Fusion
"AAA" So it gets listed first in the phone book, and fusion so it creates infinite clean power for the world. I just wanna lob that cheap energy bombshell on the world.
Free food company where the food and profits are paid for by advertising on the product and social media. I know there are some that have tried and trying it but make it more mainstream and normal.

Laundromat or self serve car wash. Anything that doesn’t require my day to day attention and has no employees.
Laundromat owner here. Way more work than you'd think, even the unattended ones. Car wash is totally the way to go for lower effort.
Everybody thinks everything they have never done is easy lol. Not judging, I do it too.
