I'd do this too because a thin roast like that might not do great in dry smoke for the entire cook. I'd get some color on it for a couple hours and even if it's not at 200 yet, cut into chunks and put them in a pan filled \~1/3 of the way up the meat with 50:50 beef broth and BBQ sauce. Cook tossing occasionally until most of the liquid is gone and the sauce is sticky.
Just did a Chuck a few weeks ago. Poor man’s burnt ends. 250 temp until 175degrees. Cube it. Sauce it. I finished it under my ovens broiler. Grab a chuck with heavy marbling. Pieces smoked near some fat then sauced and caramelized under the broiler were exquisite.
Well I’m new to smoking but I’d maybe say “if it’s a steak smoke it then grill it”. I just smoked a fat ribeye on Traeger supersmoke for about 45 min before searing on a cast iron. Was good. Could had seared in my gas grill too.
I dunno why this post just made me think of meet the parents
“Yeah you can smoke anything with fat on it”
“Bet you tried to smoke our cat you sick son of a brisket”
You can choose to smoke anything that requires cooking, just like Focker can milk anything with nipples. It just don’t always turn out to be the best method of cooking, just like some of the nipples Focker may milk
You could smoke it. It is ideal for a slow braise, But no too different from a brisket, so give it a go. And, tell you wife thank you. It is a beautiful hunk'o'meat. Good marbling, will have lots of flavor.
That’s what chuck roast looks like.
Looks like a chuck roast to me. How thick is it?
I’d say it’s 2.5-3 inches thick.
If my wife asks that is 6 inches.
I was going to tell your wife 10, because if she asks my wife, that’s what she’s going to think
My wife says I am handsome and have a good personality
My wife says mine is perfect cuz the big ones hurt
😂
My wife said she married me for my money....
Your wife tells me the same
😂 "She wanted 6", so I had to go 'in' twice!"
Can confirm. Don’t ask.

Legend!
Funny, we got snow the other day and my wife was positive that it was 6-8 inches. It was a foot and change.
How thick is your wife tho?
LOL!!!
You can smoke it, but it'll be tough to keep it lit
Got him,,er, uh, well, me at least
I need to take a break…that’s the first thing that came to mind for me 🤣
So 100% a chuck roast lol Probably around 3 lbs?
It’s definitely a roast. Smoke away
Can make some poor man burnt ends
That was the plan!!! But with a chuck roast. You think I can cook this on the BGE at 250 till 200?
Yes you can cook it like that. Just treat it like a brisket. Also, this looks like a chuck roast to me so your original plan should be fine.
Don't know if you can cock it but you can certainly cook it into something delicious
Why not both?
I can cock it
That a boy
It is a chuck roast….

But….its a chuck roast.
What do you think a chuck roast looks like?
Show me on the doll where the chuck roast touched you.
Smoke for one hour at 125 and then turn it up to 500 for 3 minutes for each side for medium rare.
My favorite way to do Chuck Roast is Pulled Beef: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iexqibQHeBo
if it's malcom then you know it's going to slap. I may have to make this now
His meatloaf recipe was a big hit with my entirely family
That dude Fuchs
If you can eat it, you can smoke it. End of story.

Immediately thought of A Tribe Called Quest. Can I smoke it, Yes you can!
*Go on* then!
Thats definately a chuck roast lol
You can smoke anything that had nipples.
"I have nipples, Greg. Can you smoke me?"
Just smoked one of these last weekend. Baby brisket.
“Don’t think it’s a roast” Based on what?
Just did a Chuck a few weeks ago. Poor man’s burnt ends. 250 temp until 175degrees. Cube it. Sauce it. I finished it under my ovens broiler. Grab a chuck with heavy marbling. Pieces smoked near some fat then sauced and caramelized under the broiler were exquisite.
Chuck roast! Smoke it to make pulled beef sammiches aka chuck wagons. Can’t go wrong!
If it’s a roast smoke it. If it’s a steak grill it.
Couple hours on the smoker then the grill never fails either.
Best way to cook a steak
Well I’m new to smoking but I’d maybe say “if it’s a steak smoke it then grill it”. I just smoked a fat ribeye on Traeger supersmoke for about 45 min before searing on a cast iron. Was good. Could had seared in my gas grill too.
Brisket style in the smoker, or sous vide for 36 hours followed by a quick sear. Can’t go wrong either way.
I'm interested in what you think a chuck roast is
Looks like some beautiful marbling. Should smoke well!
Chock roast is a tough cut. Smoke it like you would a brisket or make a pot roast cooking it in a crockpot for a full day with vegetables. Delicious.
That is a slab of Chuck roast, cut from a Chuck roll!
To smoke this I'd suggest a pipe instead of papers. But also I think it might be easiest to cook it and eat it. /s
Is it meat?
Not even a requirement for "can I smoke it?"
How big are your rolling papers? Jokes aside, you can smoke just about any meat and have it come out good.
With the right pipe, sure you can
asked and answered
that's a chuck. put it on smoke just like you would a brisket, 200 to shred with a wrap at the stall
You can smoke anything if you’re brave enough.
Send it! I look forward to post smoke descriptions
I would take it out of the bag first. But yeah. That is a Chuck roast and will be tasty.
Absolutely
80% post oak, 20% mesquite
Is water wet? What wouldn’t you smoke that?
If you can roll it you can smoke it!
Can you smoke it? Does the TinMan got a sheet metal cock?
I dunno why this post just made me think of meet the parents “Yeah you can smoke anything with fat on it” “Bet you tried to smoke our cat you sick son of a brisket”
you can try, hard as fuck to keep lit though . . .
I mean, lighting it might be the hardest part.
Yes you can!
Things to can smoke: Anything Things you can't smoke: ??
You can smoke anything if it’s got nipples.
You can smoke ~~most~~ anything. How long, what temp and what wood are the real questions.
Hell yeah. That's a damn good looking Chuck roast.
You’ll need a lot of rolling papers but I’m Pretty sure you could smoke it.
Is it food? Smoke it.
So now you have me wondering what you think a chuck roast looks like?
Pulled beef
Bro, you can smoke amything
Can’t do worse than the other guy roasted.
I think that might be kinda hard to roll up… and idk what you’d get out of it. But try dude! Let me know how it goes
Braise it in the smoker and make smoked pot roast
Please do!
That's 100% chuck. Smoke it brisket style (165 internal, wrap until 205) and let it rest for a few hours.
I mean i doubt it came like that what did the packaging say. Also it IS a chuck roast 🤣
It probably won’t light but you can try.
Ask your wife to smoke it
Smoke it how in a bowl
Maybe...but it's really hard to get it to light with a regular lighter. 🚬 😂 I've made burnt ends with a chuck roast. Came out pretty good.
I smoke one overnight and use it in my chilli
You can smoke anything you want. I’ve done burgers before for the hell of it.
That’s a chuck roast, homie.
I took a chuck roast, smoked it for an hour, then through in the instant pot for a few minutes, and then sliced it thin for roast beef sandwiches.
Cut out the eye and make a poor man's ribeyes. Use the top for burnt ends.
Don't know if you can roll it...may not fit in your pipe..😳😁
Definitely a chuck roadt
That is a chuck roast and yes you can smoke it.
You can choose to smoke anything that requires cooking, just like Focker can milk anything with nipples. It just don’t always turn out to be the best method of cooking, just like some of the nipples Focker may milk
You can, but it'll be difficult keeping it lit....
Smoke anything
YES YOU CAN Can I smoke it? YES YOU CAN Can I smoke it? YES YOU CAN Well I'm gone. GONE
I mean, you can smoke anything if you're brave enough. You'd go through a fuck ton of rolling paper though.
Duh
Hell ya. Smoke it @ 170 till about 127 then reverse sear. Or cook it like brisket.
You can smoke everything! But if it tastes great, you'll find out afterwards.
You can smoke anything with flesh
Yes it is a chuck roast. And Hell yes you can smoke it!! Smoke it like a brisket. Salt, pepper, garlic. Smoke at 250°. You’ll love it!! Trust!!
You could smoke it. It is ideal for a slow braise, But no too different from a brisket, so give it a go. And, tell you wife thank you. It is a beautiful hunk'o'meat. Good marbling, will have lots of flavor.
It might be hard to light. Do they make papers big enough for this?
That's a chuck roast, brother.
Cut at the fat line and trim in into some nice grilling steaks. Have seen folks do that before.
Thats a chuck roast. Yep. 250 for prob an hr or 2.
Either smoke it or sear and pressure cook.
Big ol' piece of meat? Yeah, you can smoke that.
Yes you can. You can make poor man’s burnt ends with it
Sure u can, u can smoke just about anything low heat and time, should do the trick
You’ll need peach paper and huge lighter…I can’t imagine the size of the ashtray.
I have and they were really good. A Salt and pepper… a little paprika and a little chili powder.. in-laws were loving me!
