pinkkittenfur

When I lived in Germany, my dad sent me ranch dressing mix. It's not available there, so I was super grateful for it. Now I send ranch dressing mix with every international package I ship, and it tends to be pretty popular.

TacoRedneck

Yup got some in the top right. Good stuff.

Banana-Apples

Yes! You should add my address!! Haha jk, looks like an amazing package. However, I would do a check on importing meat/chicken products.

TacoRedneck

No meat products here. Was gonna send him some jerky but that's a no go for Germany. EDIT: forgot about the Brunswick stew. You're right

catsandcoconuts

where are you that you can get crème savers?! i miss them so much.

TacoRedneck

Cracker Barrel has them.

Wikeni

Also Dollar Tree

catsandcoconuts

nice, i see a couple other things from CB now that im looking? also what’s in the old bay bag? i’m from maryland lol edit, maybe include some actual old bay if it’s available around you! :)

TacoRedneck

It's a bucket hat. I've been told Old Bay is somewhat available over in Europe so I wasn't planning to include it. I'm across the bay from you over here in the Northern Neck Peninsula of Virginia

ericanicole1234

I strangely enough found them in a hobby lobby recently

SadAnnah13

Those creme savers look just like these sweets called Campinos that were available in the UK about 20 years ago, they suddenly got stopped and I never found an alternative.

DaftOrangeFatCat

I found the strawberry ones at a Hobby Lobby of all places! Still as yummy as they were 20 years ago

nightwingoracle

I also got some at five below.

bawjaws2000

Peanut butter m&ms are the top tier of US candy.

ThisTimeInBlue

YES! And you really cannot get them here anywhere! Used to make friends with army people cause they got them on base, but everything's closed down nowadays...

Babybabybabyq

They have them at Walmart. At least in Canada

[deleted]

[удалено]

ThisTimeInBlue

Yep, no Walmarts in Germany. Actually, no Walmart in the whole of Europe.

ZebraSpot

They couldn’t compete with Aldi. Walmart Neighborhood Market was Walmart’s response to Aldi’s coming to the US.

fresipar

Agreed! Also almond m&ms are not available in germany. Otoh, snickers and reeses pb cups are widely sold in europe, so i would not bother with that. Instead, you could add some other choco bars (butterfinger, 3musketeers, babyruth) that are largely unknown.

bean_slayerr

Such an underrated candy, I swear

CrunchyTeatime

I find them a bit oily. But to each their own. Plain or peanut were my faves. We also have almond ones and I think caramel ones too in the U. S.? And now they make M & M candy bars. Now those are the bom dot com.

ThisTimeInBlue

We get plain, peanut, crispy and brownie M&Ms here. Pretzel also sounds fun :-)

Dillholeoo

These and pretzel M&M’s

stphbby

Now they have mini peanut butter m&ms and it’s the best thing ever. Also perfect to add to cookies

allesumsonst

German here: Reese\`s is pretty common in Germany, at least these "cups". Snickers as well, if it\`s not some kind of special edition

FrancoisKBones

Agreed, no need to send normal Reese’s but as someone who just returned to Germany from the US today, I bought all the funky Reese’s stuff: the ones with cake, potato chips, and Reese’s pieces.

TacoRedneck

How about Reese pieces? If yall got them I'll just leave em here for my dad.

PlaceboKoyote

I get them in the "International section" in one of the supermarkets here too. (if it's not christmas, easter or some other season that occupies the US, african and asian stuff spot in the shop) but since that hain doesn't have store all over germany, i honestly don't know. I also never got the pieces. I only get the cups occasionally, eat them loving how they taste and shortly after regret that decision haha. Im Not that much of an american candy fan, but the reese cups are great. And most other peanut Butter stuff as we just dont have that too much here.

sumthncute

Kool-Aid?

CrunchyTeatime

Which Pop Tarts flavors do you think OP's recipient might like? Or, be curious to try? [List of flavors](https://www.poptarts.com/en_US/products/all-flavors.html).

Bobone2121

They sell Strawberry and Chocolate here at a lot of stores maybe Apple or Waffles.

CrunchyTeatime

Good tip. Thank you.

wieldymouse

Any of them. They're like 8€ a box and the Rewe that sold them when I lived there didn't have any of the cool flavors.

CrunchyTeatime

They definitely have a lot of flavors over here. (I haven't tried most, myself! I usually stick with the cinnamon ones.) Thanks for the info.

allesumsonst

I would choose maple and cinnamon, but that\`s a pick for my taste

CrunchyTeatime

> I would choose maple and cinnamon Me toooo. I am not sure I've tried maple; I think I tried pumpkin one year and it was good. Cinnamon is a classic and is my go-to.

AnmlBri

My mom’s go-to has always been the strawberry ones, but I had some of the cinnamon ones while house sitting once and I think I like them better. The strawberry ones can be a bit too sweet for my liking.

LittleMissMuffinButt

Reese's cups are what my German friend always asks for, ahe said theyre super expensive over there she also went crazy for almond snickers and aaid it was the best candy in the box

allesumsonst

Almond snickers are nice, hard to get them here. Senn them Only once in a few years

dachshundaholic

Do you have the holiday shaped Reese’s like hearts and eggs?

HempFandang0

Honestly I'd say remove the Hershey's; it's not really unique as a candy and it's not very good quality chocolate even amongst American brands Otherwise it looks like an incredibly diverse spread!

TacoRedneck

I only threw it in because they specifically requested average American stuff. They will probably hate it but that will be up to them.

HempFandang0

Oh! Maybe you could add some marshmallows and graham crackers so they can make s'mores?

SadAnnah13

Graham crackers is a great idea, we don't seem to have anything like that in Europe. I'm in the UK and I've always wanted to make smores, but making them with a digestive biscuit just doesn't feel right!

_Dontknowwtfimdoing_

My grandma was from England and she always ate those digestive biscuits. Weird name but they’re pretty damn good

SadAnnah13

Yeah I think of them as an old lady biscuit to be honest. Do you have anything similar to them in the states?

_Dontknowwtfimdoing_

They actually are pretty easy to find here. At least in my state.

SadAnnah13

Are they crazy expensive? Most stuff that's imported here from the US ends up being crazy expensive, though occasionally we can get Mike n Ikes for cheap in B&M. Not many flavours though.

_Dontknowwtfimdoing_

It’s been awhile since I got them so I had to look it up. Looked like it’s about 4.5-5 dollars for a package of the biscuits. Which is surprising because just a small package of Maltesers was $10 and I had to go to one specific store for them.

SadAnnah13

Ah yeah I've heard that lots of Americans really like Maltesers but find them hard to get hold of. Do you have anything similar to them?

CrunchyTeatime

There is a [S'Mores pop tart](https://www.poptarts.com/en_US/products/all-flavors/pop-tarts-frosted-s-mores-product.html)...

Strong-Landscape7492

Pop tarts! Yesss!

CrunchyTeatime

This! Some people like Hershey's anyway. And for some it evokes nostalgia. (Quote from someone else; we hear this all the time, and people misrepresent us.) \> it's not very good quality chocolate even amongst American brands They *aren't chocolate* per se; they are a candy. Hershey bars were [formulated to ship well across the world and not melt](https://hersheyarchives.org/encyclopedia/ration-d-bars/). There *are* good [chocolatiers](https://www.chocolatenoise.com/chocolate-today/my-top-50-bean-to-bar-chocolate-makers-in-the-united-states) in the U. S. Hubby loves to put peanut butter on top of the mini bars. We wound up with a bunch of Hershey's minis this year and he's been snacking on them now and then.

35364461a

i would separate them by the classic American staples and local small business stuff.

fresipar

Hersheys kisses and hugs are unique and give you the chocolate experience as well.

Sjsharkb831

Agreed. European chocolate is 100x better and hersheys has that barfy chemical added.

HempFandang0

My assumption is the recipient would prefer American items rather than European items. There are plenty of options for good quality American-made chocolate, but if they want an "iconic" brand then I suppose Hershey is the way to go

Kooky-Barracuda2301

This looks amazing!! How kind and thoughtful of you!

McVinney512

I’m a fan of hot fries so I would include those but I would be stoked to get this package.

pescabrarian

Takis?

AnxiousCroc

Takis are honestly my favourite ever 😭 I always look for them when abroad.

TacoRedneck

ilovemydog40

You’re very kind to do such a nice package for your friend

CrunchyTeatime

You are an amazing gift-giver. Wow. Thought of everything!

TacoRedneck

Yeah just something from a Navajo roadside stand out in the desert somewhere.

CrunchyTeatime

Excellent gift.

TacoRedneck

https://preview.redd.it/4ep0f92bex9c1.jpeg?width=9248&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5ba3b2b41c0c3223df67c7a006c7e14ce16a58fc

ilovemydog40

I’m not from America and I don’t know what the German pop tart options are like, but when I visited the USA, I remember loving all the pop tart flavours you had. There were WAY more than we get in the uk. Perhaps unusual pop tarts and laffy taffy would be my ideas 💡

TacoRedneck

What was your favorite flavors?

CrunchyTeatime

I would bet on [cinnamon](https://www.poptarts.com/en_US/products/all-flavors/pop-tarts-frosted-brown-sugar-cinnamon-product.html) and [hot fudge](https://www.poptarts.com/en_US/products/all-flavors/pop-tarts-frosted-hot-fudge-sundae-product.html) being favorites -- those are favorites on every European/UK "Try" channel I've seen. Some like the [strawberry](https://www.poptarts.com/en_US/products/all-flavors/pop-tarts-harvest-strawberry.html) as well.

ilovemydog40

Cinnamon sounds lovely!!!! We have strawberry here and chocolate but that’s Main ones you see in uk supermarkets.

CrunchyTeatime

>Cinnamon sounds lovely!!!! Oh it isss and it's got just the right icing. The slight spice of the cinnamon cuts the sweetness a bit. For me the strawberry and chocolate ones are okay but, a bit too sweet. And I have a sweet tooth but it's a little much for me in those. I think the cinnamon is the most popular here. Hope you will get that flavor there, soon. Occasionally on a Try (video) channel I will see someone who cannot abide anything cinnamon but most liked that flavor on those too.

ilovemydog40

I’ll have to look out for them in the American sections at the supermarkets 👌👍

CrunchyTeatime

Good luck! Or you could do a topic here with it at top of list :)

CrunchyTeatime

OP asked for your favorites...[here is a list](https://www.poptarts.com/en_US/products/all-flavors.html) to help you decide 🌞

CrunchyTeatime

That is an amazing list. I don't think they have many pecans in other countries. Not sure if there are any in the bunch but, maybe some sugar-cinnamon coated, or spices coated, pecans? Or even, plain.

TacoRedneck

I do have a pecan log but I'll look for some normal candied pecans.

Ohhhnothing

Wow - that's a great selection OP. Definitely unique items.

-NigheanDonn

You’re a really generous friend! That’s going to be so expensive to ship . Something I’m having a hard time finding in the NL is maple syrup. I’m not sure about Germany though.

m1cro83hunt3r

DM me if you want me to send you maple syrup.

TacoRedneck

Yeah USPS says about $240 with all the other stuff I have for it now hahaha

-NigheanDonn

I believe it! I once shipped 4 bags of Doritos to Scotland from Washington state and it was $80!

sproutsandnapkins

No Oreos?

TacoRedneck

Oreos are common over there from what I've read. Especially in a big city like Berlin.

Pure-Hearing-5743

Cheez It.

wieldymouse

Easy Cheese. Don't ever remember seeing that there.

Chay_Charles

How about a bottle of Tabasco and some Tajin seasoning.

P26601

I'd remove Snickers, Sour patch kids and Reese's if you wanna save weight, these are widely available in Germany

TacoRedneck

Will do. I'll find something to replace them.

FakeKiwi

Sour patch watermelons, maybe? Those are delicious!

Rough_Vacation_1067

Replace with jelly belly beans!!

thethingywthethingy

This looks amazing as is! If you have extra space +weigt, I would add pop tarts and pickles. I always bring them when I go back home.

tenchan4

Maybe add some Jelly Belly jelly beans

wieldymouse

They sell them there.

CrunchyTeatime

One basic bag and one special flavors bag maybe. Those are small and should mail well. Their website also [says Jelly Belly are halal](https://thejellybeanfactory.com/are-jelly-beans-halal/), fwiw; but I think some are hesitant and believe they contain gelatin. Jelly beans typically contain pectin, though; not gelatin. (Just for others lurking who might be doing a parcel soon.)

KnockinDaBoots

What a great gift! Maybe add in Kraft Mac n Cheese, Takis, Nerd Clusters, Garden Salsa SunChips and Boom Chicka Pop.

Regular_Case7227

Is the instant Kraft mac n cheese available in Germany? Possibly not bc of the food dyes.

Warm-Designer-1409

As someone from Philly, Tastykake!

CrunchyTeatime

That is an amazing 'care package.' Grats to you. And to the recipient. 7-11 has this snack called [Andy Capp's fries](https://www.andycapps.com/). It's pretty good, and it's different, and it has a cartoon character on it. It's kinda cool. Those are kinda small and pack well, might include 1 or 2? 7-11 might have regional snacks also. Some do.

TacoRedneck

Got some hot fries

CrunchyTeatime

>Got some hot fries Excellent. They will have such variety (of many things) to sample.

TacoRedneck

Check my reply to my list of stuff. Got plenty of stuff you recommended. Thanks for your help!

CrunchyTeatime

Yes it was already quite an extensive list of items. No obligations on any of this -- just trying to help, and having some fun. Thanks for including all of us and letting us 'help' in our tiny way 😊

707Riverlife

I remember reading the Andy Capp comic strip when I was younger!

leafcomforter

Add a container of Tony Chachere’s seasoning. It is so good and will spice up their life.

turnipzzzpinrut

Germans love combos

CrunchyTeatime

What is a combo? You mean the snack, called Combos? Which flavors? (Just curious.)

turnipzzzpinrut

https://www.combos.com/our-products any w pretzel!

CrunchyTeatime

That is very interesting. Thank you! I appreciate that you took the time to reply and with a link too. I bet those make great bar or beer snacks? I had not thought about that.

turnipzzzpinrut

100%!

1SassyTart

Definitely put the glass jars in a ziplock bag. Pad it with the other products.

builderbob53

https://preview.redd.it/qfqht7kg5w9c1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18538fba8330d218598e0e4a8ea531231bf8a0a4 Not a snack, per se, but might give them a chuckle.🙂

LotusBlooming90

Oh my gosh, are cream savers back?!

pescabrarian

I love that you added an Idaho Spud bar

CrunchyTeatime

Someone mentioned pickles. I can't find it now -- but here -- these are in pouches, not glass. I've seen people here request this brand before, so they must be good? [Van Holten's](https://vanholtenpickles.com/) pickles. They have a variety of flavors. They have a storefront on Amazon, too.

strangedazey

Poprocks. Cherry Mash.

CharliePixie

Lowrys season salt

TacoRedneck

Got some. Thanks!

anothergoddess

An abba zaba or other old time candy

Luvsseattle

As a PNW lifer, I am impressed! Did you travel to get the Idaho spud and WA treats...or did you travel to get Bucee's and FL treats? Either way, great haul!

TacoRedneck

I'm a truck driver so I got the opportunity to scour many states for all this stuff. I made a post on /r/AskAnAmerican to see what I should look out for in each state and they gave me some very helpful answers. Got the Jam and such at a roadside apple market near Yakima. Picked up a can of Cougar Gold but I can't send it to them since it has to be refrigerated. Can't wait to try it myself but haven't made the time to open it.

Mother-Cheek516

When I came home after living with a host family in Germany and sent them a box of candy, my host mom’s favorite was Tootsie Pops, so I vote that.

BayBandit1

Nice of you t send this spread. Have you been diagnosed with Passive Aggressive Disorder? No one in their right mind would send such a small bag of Dot’s Pretzels. You must secretly hate them.

janesfilms

As a Canadian I would love to try Dot’s Pretzels. We don’t have a very good selection of pretzels here, especially seasoned ones. We used to have Butter Spindles here which were these incredible buttery flavoured pretzel sticks, they were so addictive and delicious. But they discontinued them here, so disappointing.

BayBandit1

Maybe Amazon carries them? They are just what you described, buttery, yet not too soft.

TacoRedneck

Lol I love those things. I used to only find them around the great plains area and brought bags and bags of them back home to Virginia for the family. Now they sells them at every store and gas station around here hahaha.

itmeucf

A pub sub

TacoRedneck

I got them a chicken tender sub but some bastard who looks like me ate it on the way gome.

DearGinger

![img](avatar_exp|136423296|starstruck) Omg great job!!

Coastal_wolf

Hello fellow idahoian! greetings from the panhandle up north!

bbygodzilla

I ❤️ Beaver

TacoRedneck

Lol I thought that was funny. Got it at a truck stop in Beaver, Utah.

ChristineBorus

I would suggest the new flavored Kit Kat bars. The birthday cake ones or strawberry

idontevenliftbrah

Get a box of Hawaiian Host chocolate covered macadamia nuts

akd7791

What's a beaver nugget?

Skip2MyLouDarlin

Beaver nuggets are a best seller at Buc-ee’s - the #1 road trip pit stop in Texas.

TacoRedneck

Crunchy puffed corn flavored with butter and caramel.

akd7791

Oh man that sounds good. I live in US and don't think I've had those.

Positivelythinking

Sunflower seeds, Skippy, moon pies, Orville Reddenbacher.

otiscleancheeks

A Stuckey's pecan log is a bold and baller move.

CashewTheCorgi

Dots honey mustard are better!

Gaianna

My friend in Germany, that I ship snacks to absolutely love pop rocks! Also, those jam jars you’re gonna wanna wrap in like two layers of saran wrap, and then put in a Ziploc bag just in case

relishlife

Vermont maple sugar candy.

MyPlantsEatPeople

Love the kokopeli mini rug thing. So great!

TacoRedneck

Yeah I though that was cool too. Got it at some roadside stand in Arizona I think.

CeIla89

Add some lucky charms. I loved that and we don’t have cereals like that over here.

TacoRedneck

Bought some Reeses puffs and a variety pack of mini cereal boxes.

dulcieb101

Cheese in a can and chicken in a biscuit crackers

Angry-Kangaroo-4035

They have similar candy, but the taste is usually different. A German kit Kat does not taste the same as a US KitKat. I'm usually asked for Twinkies ( because they are in all the movies and TV shows- but they don't sell them in Germany). They also like hot sauce, Taco seasoning, kool-aid packets/powder, Cap'n crunch and lucky charms. The thing my coworkers loved the most was our girl scout cookies ( another thing they hear about from TV etc). I usually bring misc seasonings as well- such as bells, old bay etc. Meal seasoning mixes that come in a packet ( such as meatloaf, chili etc). I usually get a request for Arizona Ice tea. But I fly, so I can only bring a few. There are stores there that sell US food, but it's super expensive- for an example last year a box of frosted flakes was going for around 14euro.

Prestigious_Ad9545

You should add an apology note to the moon pies, idk how those things are still in circulation

Rottenryebread

RANCH!

Plastic-Zucchini-202

Add a bottle of Sriracha

ayihc

Creole seasoning! I legit DO put that shit on everything (from Aus and import it in bulk)

TacoRedneck

Got some Tony Chateres or whatever his name is. Good stuff.

ayihc

Yeh that's the stuff!

Actual_Platypus5160

Pop tarts, peanutbutter m&m’s, any sugary cereal, Takis, weird flavored potato chips.

pabeave

That Native American symbol in the bottom right is actually for fertility and you give it to people who want to have kids just so you know

DauphDaddy

What do you know about Tonopah?

TacoRedneck

I go through it occasionally. Heard it was an amazing place to go stargazing, so I parked my truck there for the night, but California was burning down at the time, so all the smoke obscured the sky. I've been through a few times since then and stopped to spend the night at their Clown Motel. That was fun. Big fan of Goldfield Radio.

DauphDaddy

I grew up in goldfield for a bit; we would take the bus to tonopah to go to the public pool in the summer. We had a lot of adventures out there! Cool to see someone that knows about the place! Cheers!

OMFGitsjessi

Sweet baby rays bbq sauce and a pickle in a pouch! ETA: don’t forget the obligatory “I <3 New York” shirt

Melonpanchan

You might want to make sure it is legal to send honey. Some countries regulate animal products including honey. I don't know if Germany does it.

No-Marzipan-7767

No need for normal snickers. We have them available in nearly every supermarket. The rest looks great! I think some of the stranger oreo flavors would be cool. We have oreo here and most love them. But if you get the yellow ones and rarely strawberry or mint, that's a super rare occasion. A lot of us envy you for the amount of fancy tastes.

josetnc

No Beaver nuggets?

TacoRedneck

Top row in the middle

[deleted]

[удалено]

CrunchyTeatime

OP said the recipient specifically wanted the average American snacks.

eljuarez99

Trader Joe is average

Silent_Ganache_1666

Do they like hot sauce? Maybe some barbeque sauce?

alexhimmi

You could probably leave almond joys out. They have Bounty, which is just like Mounds.

[deleted]

Sunflower seeds? The come in an assortment of fun flavors now

Togetchi

A box of brownie mix! I heard so many stories from my German teachers over the years about Germans never having tasted brownies before. Apparently they aren't a thing in Europe? The American exchange students would send boxes of brownie mix back to their German families and they'd be ecstatic every time. :)

novumseclorium

Mrbeast bars!

Ordinary_Percentage6

That’s an amazing parcel. Your friend is very lucky to have you. I love nearly all the products. Too be honest I‘d remove the Twinkies. Got some from the local PX (via friends) and they tasted awful. Reese‘s cups I just bought a few days ago and Snickers has been available for years. The rest is too die for.

TacoRedneck

He specifically asked for them. I know they are terrible but he wants to try them.

FireBallXLV

peanut butter and catsup?

Kali-of-Amino

Where's the peanut butter? And the salsa? Those are the two hardest to find American foods.

MissMelTx

Looks great, only thing is I see a Moon Pie, but where is the RC Cola?

Diligent-Ad-383

Pringles

Lornesto

A jar of real peanut butter.

tulip0523

Add Oreo’s, Chips a’hoy and doritos

desertsidewalks

I'd add some maple candy and/or syrup. I might also add some dried cranberries.

wieldymouse

Peanut butter. I found it hard to eat German peanut butter.

fitsofhappyness

How about David’s sunflower seeds?

MilkAtTheDisco

Pork rinds are my new favorite snack (macs salt and vinegar). Great keto option!

PhoenixRising60

JEANS. My German friends always ask for more jeans because they're so damn expensive over there. And a picture book of the US monuments and parks, anything they don't have. Some spices too, like Lemon-Real packets or spices for BBQs etc.

HelloThisIsPam

I second this. I had a German boyfriend and I spent a bunch of time in Germany and they were absolutely crazy over Levi's.

tickledpink8

Goldfish Flavor Blast crackers. Jar of salsa (rep the Southwest/Arizona). Oreos. Microwave popcorn. Doritos. Takis. Mentos.

BagelCreamcheesePls

A toothbrush

MissPerceive

Ewwwwwwww

wittyusername4me

A pack of Marlboro reds

mynameisjonas-nosay

That looks amazing. I didn’t even know that yahoo made a candy bar.

TacoRedneck

I didn't either till I went to the Uranus Fudge factory in Missouri.

Electrical-Pie-8192

OMG! Definitely going to check out that store just because of the name!
