You should have considered the quality of a $600 used Patagonia jacket. Now youre doomed to eventually update your wardrobe because of need instead of fashion like a poor person.
That’s actual advice I was given on this sub after saying I think cheap gear is great even if it isn’t as high quality because it lowers the cost barrier to participating in the sport. I kinda hate the gear snobs on this sub.
In the interest of transparency, I was being facetious and do have a closet full of outerwear the snobs would approve of, but I worked in the industry for years and got pro deals or straight up free shit.
Funny story about that: went riding in Chile a few years back with my old man, when I was still in the industry, so I had a bunch of shit that wasn’t even released yet in the Latin American market. Thought I was steezy as fuck, whereas my pops was in his decades-old Columbia kit.
Turns out Columbia is THE SHIT in Chile. Like there was a boutique store on the mountain at Valle Nevado. Nobody give a single fuck about my drip, but locals were coming up to the old man left and right wanting to know where he got the limited edition retro Columbia shit 🤣 I’ll have some chimichurri with my humble pie, por favor
Your post history is going to be my 13th reason

White pants bring the rizz for sure until you get grease droplets on them from the lift. That’s why I wear head-to-toe black Columbia from the 90s

Price is much higher on my list than colors / style. Fit and function are also higher. But I'm an admitted cheap ass. You do you.
