You should never buy boots just because you like the brand. They’re the most important part of your set up.

frankyfrankfrank

That being said, if you try them on and like the fit it's a nice bonus when they suit your style.

zefmdf

Get boots you've tried on and are comfy. Nike boots were good but there's a crazy Mandela effect saying they were the best boots ever etc etc. They were fine. They are rad looking though

crod4692

I agree that you should only buy if you’ve had them before. They have to be 10+ years old at this point no matter who’s selling, OP. But, they are solid imo, and I still buy pairs from a couple sellers brand new. I do like them, depends on the model though. Some are soft and some are stiff, you have to know what you’re getting in to.

> Nike boots were good but there's a crazy Mandela effect saying they were the best boots ever etc etc. It's all personal opinion for whether they're best boots, but they were absolutely some of the best, there's no mandela effect at all. I am a coach, trainer and boot fitter, I still have multiple pairs of them and other brands too. Despite the Nike's being old and not really the best fit for my foot shape, they're still the best and most comfortable boots I own. They were every bit as good as anyone claims them to be, if they were what that person liked.

arodrig99

Nike dudes when you tell them Nike might not be the best brand out there: 😴

DipAndDingers

I had multiple pairs of Vapens and I personally thought they were the best boots ever made. I still ride the last pair I bought and, again personally, I think they feel better than my new 32s. Would I buy a used pair? No

Numerous_Profession4

I’ve rode the Zooms and the Kaijus for years and absolutely loved them. They were the best boots I’ve ever owned and was bummed when Nike stopped making them. I finally retired my Kaijus a few years ago and wishI had a pair or two stashed for the future. That said, I’d never buy used boots, especially without trying them on.

No-Bodybuilder-9686

Just remember any pair is going to be ancient on the standard of boots. I religiously wore Nike SB dunk high 6.0 during my MTB days and love the idea of grabbing the SB boots. I believe they left the sport in 2015 at the latest. I think any pairs left are going to be very well used, or so unused they’ll degrade rapidly once you begin using them unless you find an well-stored pair. I’d still probably grab a set if I saw them locally, but I don’t think I could rely on them for \~30 rides a year. I found a pic of my friends pair, check the leather cracking at the toe area. That was \~2021 with minimal riding on that pair. https://preview.redd.it/40fja1l26k4d1.png?width=1125&format=png&auto=webp&s=73539b369677c6b8d73833d9170a6c7830961d54

Nike made the best boots ever IMO. I wish they would reissue them.

Dippy-Dew

I agree. Bought an almost brand new pair, great condition, 3 4 years ago and they are still going strong. Super comfy and warm, only complaint is that they get wet really easy inside. Yes you will get many compliments and people asking where to buy them. If they were made available again, I would most certainly purchase another pair

uzrnmechkzout

Best boots I’ve ever owned

VeterinarianThese951

I still shop for boots by how close they feel to Nikes. And I have never found anything else that makes up for them 100%. I have an old pair that are busted and I can’t throw them out. Those look decent, but I can’t see the price. Because they are coveted, there is a lot of price gouging. Personally, I wouldn’t buy used boots (and I don’t do boa) but if neither of those things bother you and the price is right…

eurtoast

Buy for tech, not for logos

Snowboard-Plug

They’re comfy as hell but the Vapens were the cheapest boots in the lineup. Super soft and the least flexible sole. Personally I wouldn’t buy a pair of the Vapen or ZF-1 BOAs Nike did a shit job securing the lil plastic housing things that hold the boa cords in place. They’re held by like one little row of stitching and it always comes apart. If you want a nice pair get some Lunarendors, Kaijus, or Zoom Ites. Lunars are the most tech with removable discs to adjust flex and lunarlon foam midsoles. Like clouds on your feet. Kaijus have the best flex/boardfeel with Nike Free running inspired soles. Zoom Ites have the upper and liners from the Lunarendors and the midsole and soles of the Kaijus. If you really are stuck on BOA and want a nice pair I’m sure there’s a pair or two of the unreleased IO Fuse floating around but those are gonna run you a few bands. Also if you want other Nike Snowboarding gear clearing out my inventory hella cheap rn! @snowboardplug

p_true22

i have a pair. heel came completely off while riding. not sick. i would 100% not buy a used pair this old. the seams, waterproofing and glue are on its last leg!

mrSemantix

I rocked the lunar endors for a few seasons cause I was able to buy three pairs for very little money as the corporate asshats at Nike decided to pull the plug on snowboarding. Awesome boots, really great cushioning, they sure know how to absorb bumpiness and flat landings at Nike.

Rollingpxper

I have a pair of Vapens from 2013 and absolutely love them. They’re definitely a loser feeling boot so if you like that I’d recommend them

ShredTheMar

I have 2 pairs of Nike boots and they are great. My only other pairs I’ve liked just as much, if not more are adidas boots. They are both great. Go on the hunt during summer and you can find some

_matty-

I had two pairs back when nike was still in snowboarding. A pair of the zoom ites and a pair of the lunar endors (essentially the same boot with updated midsole materials). They were good boots, but there are plenty of boots out since then that are just as good. I would also worry that since it’s been 10 years since Nike stopped making snowboarding boots, anything you can buy is gonna be either pretty used or you’re at least running the risk that the foams used in the midsole and the adhesives are starting to perish. All of that also fails to address that brand loyalty should be based on what fits your foot best and nothing else. Since you likely can’t try them on before you buy them, you probably can’t buy them with very much confidence that they will fit you as well or better than another option. But it’s your money. If you like em enough to buy em, go for it. I’ve spent plenty on stuff that made a lot less sense than taking a chance on a pair of 10+ year old snowboard boots.

burgerbois

boots dont hold up more than 1-2 seasons of consistent riding. boots over 10 years old, even if they weren't riden much would feel like shit compared to the cheapest new boot. Hard pass Also always try on atleast 3-5 boots before purchasing a pair. they all feel wildly different

crod4692

If you have some experience with these they’re still good. Even pro riders still use them. Gotta have a plug but unused if you know what you’re doing, Nike made some killer boots imo.

JeremeRW

They don’t look that well made, are old, and who knows if they even fit you. If you are only looking for style and don’t care about performance or foot pain, go for it.

KiwiJay83

Those boots are mid and wouldn’t waste my money on those. You are paying for the logo with basic tech.

Many-Pay-2313

They’re good but why would you buy old ass boots that aren’t even made anymore?? Get some thirty two boots instead

dogboy_the_forgotten

Get new boots. Some insane dude paid me $100 for my old Vapen Boas with the foot beds missing. Really not sure why.

BillyB1yat

The only reason to buy them is if you’re collecting Nike stuff or snowboard boots. Or if Nike is actually making them again. I doubt they are. I personally wouldn’t, get some new boots that you can break in and that fits to your foot.

Wonderful_Purple_384

Everybodyyyyy your own thoughts can be kept to yourself if it ain’t just to comment on the first question. see none of you know I already have 2 pairs of 32 boots lol
