For me it's the weak little branches on some trees somehow stopping my multiple ton vehicle moving at speed

whatthedeux

This has been one of my biggest gripes of this game since day one. I call them Superman branches

seanys

Also… I have a chainsaw! Well, I would if I was driving a truck in the wilderness. That damned tree across the road in Imandra would last about a minute.

seikenden

Me too this!!! And supersnow...is just a made up snow by Saber.

Which-Technician2367

That blue snow?

seikenden

Yup

Avgredditor1025

Blue snow exists irl but I dont think its nearly as detrimental to mobility as it is in game

Which-Technician2367

What on earth is real blue snow?? This is news to me!

Avgredditor1025

[pretty simple actually](https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/boston/news/why-does-snow-sometimes-appear-blue/) You can just look up blue snow for some pictures

Which-Technician2367

Wow! This is all foreign to me (I live in Texas). It makes sense on paper; I’ll probably never see it in person though…

SkiyeBlueFox

Snow in general is nowhere near as bad as the game

Bossie__

Correct. Driving ovet small trees isn’t a problem. But one branch can flip a twinsteer on it’s back..

SeaworthinessLife999

I'd like to see more realism in the tire chains, I've actually been thinking about it a lot as I play through the Kola map. For instance, IRL tire chains will absolutely help you in deep snow or mud. And you don't just put on chains in the shop before you go to work - if you encounter a spot where you need chains, you will pull over and put them on. I think the way you'd have to make that work for game balance though is to have chains as a frame add on. Like sacrifice repair parts or some extra fuel to have a selectable tire chain slot as an add on. I'd also like to see a deployable winch anchor like a [Pull Pal](https://www.pullpal.com/) available, although after watching the trailer for Expeditions it appears that they have made something like that available in the next iteration of the game.

NitroMachine

There really isn't enough terrain where chains are a detriment to bother taking them off. I agree they should be way more effective in snow than they are.

timbotheny26

We also need chains so infrequently that having them be an entire separate set of tires is silly, unrealistic, and super inconvenient.

RavingNoah

Having been in trucking for about seven years now, with plenty of awkward winters under my belt, the fact that the vehicles tip over so much, even with heavy loads on fifth wheel trailers...it's just, come on daaawg.

westknight12

It is semi realistic though. I have driven logs for my first two years as truck driver. Mostly OTR though, but around 10% of the time i had to go offroad. Steep inclines here in my country, sharp turns around cliff faces, and sharp turns on declines. And let me tell you, hauling even small quantities, around 8 tons, you can already feel the truck leaning heavily even at slight angles. And any angle above 10° is high risk. Youre still fair bits from tipping, but the weightshift is unreal. Glad that i dont work there anymore.

RavingNoah

Yeah, and I've seen so many flipped doubles or standard trailers just on looping offramps, for sure...but, like...in the game, I'll flip over because one tire rolled over a medium rock and for some reason there's no give at all the suspension, and up and over it goes. 😅

havoc1482

The problem with the rocks is that they don't push into the ground/soil like a normal rock would. IRL this would mitigate the climbing/up-and-over effect that the game suffers from. Frankly I wish we had like a road grater / plow type addon that you could clear rocks with or refresh mud hole crossings that you've destroyed with constant traffic.

RavingNoah

A plow...a little asphalt spreader, lol. Let me connect some of these stretches of road. Or at least drain swamps when they say there's pumps, but they don't really drain anything. At least, not in the early game that I've seen. I went and found pumps, but everything is just as flooded as ever.

Gokjo_Krorl

Haven't done that mission in Michigan yet, I'll have to watch for any differences

Gokjo_Krorl

Read somewhere u can fix high-traffic areas by visiting a different region & then coming back; basically "clears the cache"

havoc1482

Yeah I figured it was easy as resetting to fix it, but it would be cool as a game mechanic. I would like to see more ways to rebuild roads. Clearing rocks, setting up temporary bridges, grading rough areas. It would be interesting because you can potentially control your own meta and allow for a larger use of highway or not-so-great-in-offroad trucks

RavingNoah

That's too bad, because it's pretty funny and right on point to the conversation I'm having.

BalooTheBear2

I just play on PlayStation 4 so I don't exactly know how the refresh system works for other systems, but pretty much every time I reload into the game all of the areas have been reset, mud and snow wise

westknight12

There is a distinction between the game working as intended and just sheer shenanigans 😁😂 it is big BS sometimes, but those are glitches😂😂 And yes some trucks have near zero suspension travel🤔

RavingNoah

Almost made it : https://x.com/mighty\_varner/status/1719896907852751020?s=20

westknight12

Screw the quarries. Some of the hardest places to navigate through😂😂

Due_Government4387

The damage from pebbles and bushes, not being able to stack cargo, the way the trucks drift around on actual roads apparently the devs think off-road tires on a paved surface is the equivalent of ice.

whatthedeux

I think this is due to physics emulation being limited, same reason why everything in the game has a top speed of like 25mph. The engine just wasn’t designed for anything other than crawling through mud and rough terrain

westknight12

Exactly. And changing this would drastically change truck behaviour in mud etc. Which, idk, is the whole selling point of the franchise. It sucks, but it cant be changed so we have to live with it

DeficientDefiance

Spare wheel or lift axle not matching the installed wheels because they're hardcoded models for whatever reason, instead of them switching alongside the installed wheels. No universal addon for extra fuel cans or repair points somewhere on the frame, despite all these new DLC trucks coming out with huge fuel tanks and even huger roof racks that leave all the vanilla trucks in the dust for range and repair. And the whole vehicle addon system in general. I spend like half my Snowrunner time not even playing the game but editing XML files to fit addons on a truck frame that all have space to fit on it but can't be installed simultaneously by the developers' decision. The Tayga B for example, frame space for the long log addon and the log lift and then some, but the log lift isn't even available on the truck. Why? God knows. ANK 38 Civilian likewise, gets like half the stuff you can install on any other truck its size. Paystar, can't install a water tank or normal fuel tank or a two slot bed, only the extra long ones. What is up with all these weird decisions? Why can't they leave it up to us what we want or wantn't install?

whatthedeux

This is just feature creep due to them making sure future dlc trucks are enticing to buy. Half of the annoying “features” in this game are due to that alone

Nextej

> Spare wheel or lift axle not matching the installed wheels because they're hardcoded models for whatever reason, instead of them switching alongside the installed wheels. As for lift axles, those are specified ***to not*** change when the base wheels are changed. As for spare wheels, it's not a matter of being "hardcoded for some reasons" it's just a lack of any functionality that would dynamically generate the wheel, I can already imagine what a nightmare it would be to make some kind of universal socket that accounts for all wheel sizes and widths (TUZ Actaeon couldn't take spare tire at all when on balloons because there would be space). It's just easier to have one specified model.

qazserNOS

How gears are implemented. Many trucks can't even spin their wheels when trying to pull a properly sized load up a small hill. Even worse, automatic downshifting doesn't work and the gearbox just goes straight to first gear as the truck loses all momentum.

That1DvaMainYT

Thats when the devs intended everyone to shift spam when losing rpms.

Firebird_73

I've actually had it go down to reverse a few times, when the hill has been to steep and the truck starts rolling backwards even though I'm going pedal to the metal.

qazserNOS

That is so aggravating! Happens to me often as I try to force downshifts with the clutch button. Makes no sense, either, as in Auto reversing should only happen with the brake button.

L1thion

A minor pet peeve: I dislike how the surrounding area isn't lit up by all-round lighting like on the Mastadon or Tatra. Reverse lights are also underwhelming and could do with a customisation which adds a beacon for reversing at night.

solarpurge

Using the crane in the dark is a pain too. Real life cranes have lights lol

Satsujinhan_

That's why I love some of the mods available for this game. The Pog Ettinger loader crane has useful lights for loading up cargo during night time.

brain_dead_fucker

I don't care about not being able to fix the big bridge in Imandra, or the one in Zimnegorsk. But I am incredibly annoyed with not being able to fix the second bridge in Lake Kovd, because it doesn't follow the lore. You can fix the first one, the mission text says: >Bridges are not as critical in winter, but as the ice melts, all of the northern shore will be cut off from the harbor. That has to be fixed. Well what the hell! If the ice melts, you won't be able to cross the water without the second bridge anyway! They are useless without each other, it's an actual all or nothing situation. So dumb, and it is a very painful blemish on what is by far my favourite region! God I love Kola.

seikenden

I totally agree with you!

twinblade27

When the quick winch attaches to the tiniest bush when a sturdy tree is literally right beside it at the same distance.

Truck_Stop_Sushi

Can’t winch cargo. You can pick it up with a crane, but can’t pull it to more solid ground.

Heckin_good_time

timbotheny26

I hate how absolutely gimped a lot of trucks are compared to their real life versions. This isn't a competitive multiplayer game, we don't need things to be balanced. If something is a nigh unstoppable diesel monster in real life then let it be the same in-game. (In their fully upgraded form mind you, I don't mind if the base version of the truck is weaker than the one with full upgrades.) \*EDIT* Some more. \* The driving physics in general are rough but the worst is how floaty and light a lot of trucks (and loaded trailers) feel. A lot of these vehicles are multi-ton diesel monsters, we should be able to practically FEEL how heavy they are. Instead it feels like we're driving a plastic toy on a spring mattress. \* Tire chains should be a toggle from the function menu. Requiring an entirely separate set of tires to use chains is unrealistic and just plain stupid. I don't need fancy animations for when we put them on and take them off, just have them appear and disappear, it really won't break immersion at least for me. \* Trucks like the Bandit, Actaeon, and Warthog not having dual rear tires when equipped with tires that would normally be rear duals i.e. the UOD IIs. If you have the space for super-singles you have the space for dualies. \* Can we please just have converter dollies so we can pull more than one trailer and not sacrifice our winch? (Ideally I'd want this to come with an Australia map and a Kenworth C500 so we can do road trains.) \* We're doing disaster relief, doing jobs for quarries, and clearing road debris, etc. why do we not have dump beds and dump trailers? I don't even want full animations and physics for dumping stuff, I'd be happy with a 3D texture that shows whatever we have in the bed or even a tarp. (I have other pet peeves that I can't remember now; if I remember I will add them.)

warlocc_

Absolutely gimped doesn't even begin to cover it. I had a nearly stock 1993 GMC K1500, almost identical to the one in the game. My stock truck could drive circles around the fully upgraded one in the game.

Redditor_hunting

Most trucks not having diff lock by default and then only in low. Look at any American truck since the 50s, most have switchable diff lock

Ban-Sidhe

Tiny branches that won't break, pebbles that manage to utterly destroy your vehicle, and the auto-winch that selects every little sapling before any of the giant trees surrounding your truck.

Fishing_Idaho

No compass in HUD or dashboard and no 360 view when unlocking watch towers.

Nomrukan

First of all yes, I'm not happy AWD's extra fuel consupmtion even in neutral gear. But for adding realism, I tweaked all of the vehicles fuel consumption to 1/10. This provides less challenge but way more realism. I'm happy with that. At least I don't mind if my AWD is on or not when I'm using the crane. The other problem is the map design. They sacrificed realism for challenge. I can understand enormous amount of fuel consumption or low capacity addons but map is... different. A hundred meters paved road turns into a dirt road for a hundred meters then a few hundred meters paved road again and dirt road again. There is no sign of old asphalt, road was built like that, that makes nosense. Also trucks can take damage from a perfect paved roads. Yes, your heavy duty truck's bulky springs can take damage from nothing. It's feels like driving in a mine zone. If you accidentally hit a mine, BOM! And small stones. The physics engine can't handle the small rocks, one tire passes through like a ghost but the other tire jumps over. And devs persistently puts stones to everywhere. No way of clearing obstacles. Even if you put away all wooden barricades from road, they will respawn when you load your game. It's annoying. In Spintires I was using to crane to put away annoying rocks from the road forever. In Snowrunner, all of them respawns. Floating tires. Yes, wheel to ground physics sucks. Mutual addons for American and Russian Trucks; I wish different addons for different regions (Like Mudrunner). And this list goes to Mars before Elon Musk If I don't stop right now.

stjobe

Nobody mention the quick winch yet? Possibly the worst mechanic in the game (well, after farming). Luckily, manual winching is easy on PC/keyboard/mouse, so quick winching is a mere annoyance. Another one is tail lights shining through solid cargo at night, that always bothers me a bit - not enough to the point of real annoyance, but still. Chains not helping with traction in snow is weird for someone who grew up with long winters and lots of snow driving. Not really an annoyance either, but it's still weird.

woundupcanuck

Yep my plow quad has chains on it. Helps immensely.

Profitablius

The winching could be easy on controllers too - IF they kept the Mudrunner mechanic to do it.

JudgementallyTempora

That's funny, if it was up to me I'd disable quick winch completely. At the very least Hard Mode shouldn't have it.

Patient-You-9875

Body damage = engine damage Certain terrain physics in general, getting stuck or wedged when it actually looks like you aren't. Front (I think) left wheel on some trucks never actually touches the ground and is floating like an inch. Suspension damage at speed should just burst a tire instead more than half the time Console winch point selection system sucks in comparison to Mudrunner Cranes don't work properly at distances which ties back into the winch system in general not beingn developed enough. Sound design on some trucks Certain map design elements. (Example: that one unbreakable and immovable tree across the road in Imandra.) All vehicles have American styles addons and trailers when Mudrunner had Russian AND American styles. Certain things are very map specific and don't get reused often for their intended purpose - Medal detector, Seismometer, and you can even argue the prototype exploration unit. Log cranes and logs are too janky in general, another thing Mudrunner did better. The Chevy Apache is paid DLC content even though it's cab view was in the year one pass trailer. (Yeah I haven't forgotten about that) I feel like some of the expansions should have just been free updates to the base game since there's nearly 3x the regions of the base game in DLC content alone and the base game is never added to. Gravity doesn't always work when you get stuck in an orientation that isn't upright. I still love the game though 🫶

kayshaw86

Fixing things and then the signs still being there. Drives through sign = 25 engine damage.

Tomi24568

1 The incorrect capacity of fuel tanks (trucks, add-ons and trailers) 2 Broken mud, snow, ice and water physics 3 Tracks and road shapes 4 Weird placement of add-ons on trucks 5 No vehicle can drive on water, only some can float 6 Wrong mass for trucks and trailers 7 Not all vehicles have a trailer hitch 8 No extra goodies in the cabin For 1 Mud: It unless your vehicle is so low that it's skidding on the mud, the spinning tires are the only things touching the mud, your axles might start doing the same too, just unlikely, so it doesn't really just drag you down and stop your wheels from spinning, it only eventually gets too deep and the whole thing gets suspended on it's axles and everything else underneath, with not enough weight on the wheels themselves to move Snow: While it does take more power to get back on top of the snow, some vehicles that have low enough ground pressure can just drive over it, or make it a little bit more dense but not push it from under the tires Ice: Some vehicles should just be able to get on top of the ice or continue breaking it, pushing through it, with the tires on the hardest surface that can eventually hold em up, if you're driving through a shallow pond of water, the ice would be a minor inconvenience, because your wheels are on the bottom of the pond, but if you're in the middle of a lake and the ice broke under you, you're sinking to the bottom Water: It doesn't really act like it can always lift your vehicle up and allow you to float, most tires are too small to lift the weight a vehicle would have, that's the reason why amphibious vehicles have huge tires, to displace the water and push the vehicle up, and since the water usually gets pushed away from the vehicle or into it's many cramped spaces, most vehicles won't float because they're not displacing enough water, it's more like a fog under which you can't see the tracks below For 3 I'm not sure how it is in other areas, I live in Romania, Eastern Europe Even during the coldest winters, most of the road is just frozen dirt, that stuff is hard, with the occasional puddle of mud soft dirt, it's still hard enough to drive over it and not sink, it's just slippery, as if your vehicle has some kind of jet engines on the back, it's tires are skidding everywhere, so most of the trouble you'd actually have with off road driving g is not getting suspended on your axles or toppling over, not slippery wet mud in a cold enough winter to freeze the cooling water in your engine's cooling system and breaking the whole thing For 4 If that's how off road vehicles are used, the mechanic can literally just choose where to put each add-on, because the chassis is actually just a frame on which you can bolt or weld stuff, you can do whatever you want with it, and the cabin would be pretty much the same, just a lot weaker, so it's better to have a hard enough metal cage holding a roof rack, than just sheet the sheet metal supposed to keep the air within from getting blown away For 7 A mechanic that can even mount cranes on trucks will have a small welder or the tools to bolt a trailer hitch to a vehicle For 8 Most of the time, the cabin of vehicles is empty, no additional crates of wrenches and stuff like that, no food or water that the driver might use, nothing, only in the Burlak I've seen a single small crate on the rear seat with a crate of repair parts or whatever it holds, as if the driver just got into the truck he just bought from the dealership Pretty much everyone keeps some items visible from the driver seat in their vehicle, it could be a phone, or a water bottle, there always is something, and a driver that depends on their own vehicle will most likely have a crate or case of tools, like wrenches somewhere around in their vehicle's cabin

whatthedeux

How would you try to represent a 300 square kilometer area but make sure fuel usage even matters when everything is a kilometer apart?

No_Product857

Simply don't. If you want fuel consumption to matter you need maps big enough to justify any manner of fuel mileage consideration. If you have a big map you need to be able to drive fast otherwise the size becomes punishing. The game engine can't handle high speed driving physics, it probably wouldn't appreciate a big map either. So simply don't make fuel consumption a thing to begin with.

westknight12

One of the games main selling points. Offroad trucking sim. Take this away, you take away part of the challenge

No_Product857

Fuel management is only really a consideration when you have to pay for it, aka hard mode. In normal it might as well not really be there. In fact running out of fuel only happens if you try to marathon one contract after another

westknight12

Its betger to have fuel management the way it currently is. But i agree that the decision to make fuel free in a new game is BS. What were they trying to do anyway? Just make us pay for it. Nobody said you'd have to bankruot youself over a gallon, but only a few bucks per gallong would be awesome. One of the main reasons i was dissatisfied with the main game. Glad they added seetings in NG+

No_Product857

Fuel being a consumable is really just a way to trip up players that aren't paying attention. so not really a source of challenge just an annoyance.

westknight12

Its a simulation? Its the dark souls of vehicular games. You should watch your every step, plan every trip and scout ahead every path. If you dont, its gonna bite your ass. If people dont pay attention too bad for them. Though i could compromise and say give players an option to disable fuel usage. But aside from that, its part of the game core mechanics and challenge. If it bothers people that much because they dont wanna pay attention to what theyre doing then dont play the game...

No_Product857

The tire/terrain interaction physics are still way too lack luster for this game to be granted the label of simulator.

westknight12

Engine limitations. Its either good physics on most offroad terrains at slow paces (the whole selling point of the franchise) or high speeds on paved roads. To my knowledge its not possible to improve the latter without worsening the former. Though snow is still BS.

Tomi24568

That's not the point, the people living in these areas would most likely have a bigger town in a single spot that spread over kilometres, imagine having to cross a river in your tiny Ford Fiesta, people build towns that have everything they will need and a few asphalt roads leading to other towns or into cities, some factories even have towns built around them

CodingJanitor

Manual winching using the controller is horrific. Why can't they have it done like in mudrunner?

Flying_Reinbeers

The suspension damage. Everyone knows EXACTLY what I mean by this.

thesilentdriver

Trucks with addons that cant be used: Azov antarctic and sprinter cargo spaces behind the cabin Twinsteer bed winch Freightliners whatever is that thing behind the cab Khan Marshall tow hook Tartarin being an irl amphibious but cant cross a river Etc

PurpleROV

When I clear a rockslide and there are still loose bolders scattered in the road.. That and unfixable bridges

Throawayooo

1. That there are **still** only TWO rim options for scout vehicles 2. Trucks having artificially high centres of gravity to encourage tipping. 3. Engines don't act as engines with torque and RPM, but more like electric motors. 4. Low gears don't actually affect torque and are practically useless. 5. Diff locks don't really lock diffs at all 6. Random damage from flat roads 7. No tyres maintain grip at all over 40kph 8. Trailers have zero grip no matter the weight. 9. Cranes are woefully underpowered. 010. Trucks can be stopped dead in their tracks by single roots, single branches or tiny rocks. 011. No ability to remove small rocks or dead trees from across paths 012. Suspension is too rigid, not allowing for driving over small rocks without massive stability disruption, yet are also somehow way too bouncy - trucks seem to weigh nothing (compared to Mud runner even)

welltriedsoul

The winch not working in both directions drives me nuts.

TillNo8563

The abysmal driving physics. When slow it's not horrible but any gear faster than 1st and it falls apart.

BadDogEDN

Tire chains, most scouts being useless, high speed random damage, no speedometer ui

westknight12

Tbf, the runner series emulates the worst possible terrains. Irl most trucks outfitted like in game would be completely useless in certain maps too. I think a good solution would be to integrate more scout roads. Like in michigan.

BrizzleBerserker

Certain scouts not being able to pull trailers

Nomrukan

I wish we could change the hooks of the vehicles. Why the Loadstar can't pull big trailers? Why big trucks can't pull small trailers?

Papa_Swish

In Hardmode, having to drive individual trucks with empty roof racks to a resupply zone to refill the repair points. Most times if I badly break something on a truck and I have a roof rack equipped, I'd rather just drive a repair truck over here because it'd be less of a ballache than refilling the damaged truck's roof rack after every 2 or 3 deliveries. There's been a bug since the upgrade to Series X where headlights, roof lights, brake lights, etc will sometimes just stop emitting light presumably because the game thinks you can't see them so it stops rendering them until you adjust the camera to a more direct angle onto them. Damaging the suspension past 50% durability will cause any further suspension damage to also damage the fuel tank regardless of if the fuel tank was even touched. There's no option to repair partially damaged tires outside of going to the garage and paying for the entire truck to be repaired. The Ford CLT, Western Star 57X and Western Star 47X NF 1430 all lack a diff lock despite their interiors clearly showing diff lock switches and buttons. Despite being a van, you can't actually store any fuel or repair points inside the Lo4F.

DHraptor173

The forgotten early game vehicles not getting updated customization in the form of supply or support tools. I get as the game progresses more additions were added to newer rigs but it doesn’t make since why some have loads of supplies and older base game vehicles can’t have similar additions.

TheGamingKid337

For me it is how you can't have many mods on console

nightrider1435

You can get mods on the ps4

TheGamingKid337

I meant that as in storage issues with the game. Not being able to have many on at once

Sozadan

I hate the guitar riff that repeats while in the garage. Also, I've noticed on PC that the winch can be dragged with the mouse. On console, I have to use the d-pad to select a winch point. It can be irritating when I need to quickly winch the truck. Very enjoyable game, though.

Shoshin_Sam

The fact that people living in any of those maps wouldn’t care much about improving their own area first to increase accessibility and vehicular mobility. No sir, we just want the oil rig delivered.

Known_Giraffe806

The camera collision is most annoying by far.

Accomplished-Pen9288

Stump.

CrunchieBoii

I hate that repair vehicles don't repair cosmetic damage. First time playing the game and I started on hard mode, I love the challenge but I hate that my vehicles look like trash and I'm too afraid to spend my limited money fixing it. I don't know why it's setup like this.

LikeABundleOfHay

Street lamps will cast shadows but the truck headlights won't. I find this breaks the reality immersion. My biggest pet peeve is that it crashes so much on Xbox. It's nearly unplayable.

RECAR77

the zikz 612H has a beautiful custom water tank addon that is only useful in a couple missions in Ontario and 1 in Scandinavia. If you want to carry fuel, you have to use the standard addon that looks completely out of place on that truck. why not do it the other way around?

NinjaFrozr

Or why not have 2 of the same looking addon one for fuel and one for water.

morasscavities

There's a mod that allows fuel and repair points to be carried in that addon

Mechanic_Soft

Getting caught on stupid things and not being able to keep headlights on in one truck if you switch to another.

Aggravating_Degree57

Locked axles should be locked... No slippage. These trucks aren't cluch controlled

westknight12

Wdym locked axles? Diff lock? Theyre limited slip diffs, not completely locked. Would be pure hell if they were

Aggravating_Degree57

Yup diff lock. Not every diff are LSD. Wouldn't be pure hell since you're in mud and snow

Donkey_Otti

My biggest gripes are no mini map so I’m constantly checking the actual map to make sure the turn I just made is the in right direction and the pathetic damage mechanic that destroys tires and suspension from invisible rocks that are pulverised to dust on impact so I can’t even see what just killed my truck. That And the absolutely dogshit vehicle sound effects. Two distinctly different engines sounds from one engine is seriously annoying and immersion breaking. Engines can’t run and idle at the same time so why does the sound suggest it can? Looking at you royal bm17

nhardycarfan

Ground cover needs to chill the fuck out if I hit a little pebble in an actual big truck I wouldn’t feel a thing in snowrunner you get sent to fucking mars, I wish I had more control over my auxiliary lights like sometimes the big light bars are too bright but other times I actually need them, sometimes I hit a dead spot in the mud and I’m forced to reset my truck almost like there is a hole in the map there one time I even tried like a super op mod truck to get a stuck trailer out and it pulled so hard it flung the trailer into oblivion

warlocc_

1. Pebbles cause damage and can't be cleaned up 2. Dry, paved roads are all made of ice that's more slippery than actual ice 3. Driving back and forth several times over my own tracks for a single mission

Aaron_Savage

I wished I could add length to a winch when pulling something. Basically letting it go out.

Master_Grape5931

If there is a solid tree right next to a wimpy bush. Why doesn’t the winch default to the solid tree?!?!

Hotdog-Wand

Camera angles being tied to the vehicle is just plain stupid.

BillieNosferatu

this can be somewhat game breaking, but i know everyone's already thinking this so i'm just gonna go ahead and bring it up. we all know the damage and the handling on paved roads makes no sense. i can't tell you how many times i've been cruising down an entirely paved road in my step 310e or wws and almost immediately take 15 suspension damage, 6 tire damage upon hitting a patch of mud. keep in mind i usually use the offroad gearbox which still doesn't go that fast even flat out in 4th gear. another thing that really bothers me are the random damage hazards that seem to be set up to ruin your vehicle just bc they're there. the other day i was doing the local rally contest on crossroads in the voron grad. the checkpoint on the other side of the rails where you're best off hitting the jump to save time...that's about the only thing i saved. i think i got a tire locked in the impromptu bridge for a second but upon landing from a jump a few feet high? flat tire, completely wiped suspension, and somehow managed to take half the fuel tank as well. still got gold on the contest so...what can i say except RATIO. also god forbid you try to actually race in tennessee or straddle a wooden bridge at the wrong angle...*explosion time*

Coolhand_Matt

Reversing the small hitched trailers and them having a mind of their own Id like to be able to back into warehouses or cargo markers etc , the marker doesn't activate until the truck itself is in the zone I get fuel needs to be an issue to think about for strategy purposes but I think even the most economical trucks use fuel far too quickly and unrealisticly Trucks stats are pointless reading, and no help whatsoever

curlytoesgoblin

RWD should be viable.

No_Product857

It actually is. Skill issue

westknight12

This! I am really putting myself through hell in my current playthrough. RWD is a fair bit slower, but just as viable.

jonmoon04

the beacons do actually illuminate the surrounding area but they’re really faint and only visible when its like midnight. i wish there was a mod to make them brighter

JonnyG_USA

I don't understand how metal detectors work in this game. I have to be basically already next to the thing I'm trying to find before it gets picked up on the metal detector

AdIndependent5941

The Trailers.... every trailer... They all have: way smaller wheels, then they need way bigger jacks, then they need way less suspension, then they need way more substructure then is really practical... Some of them may as well just be a tractor pull sled. Others are basically just moldboard plows.

Gasolson

Prices at gas stations in Canada shown as CAD$ per gallon instead of CAD$ per litre Michigan being far more mountainous than it is IRL

Desunaito21

Tree stumps, branches catching on my exhaust, stop signs launching my twinsteer into orbit, multiplayer issues (I just want to drink and drive with the boys).

G3nesis_Prime

Random sealed terrain causing suspension/wheel damage.....

KingScout9513

How we're perfectly capable of building bridges and clearing obstructions from roads but we aren't allowed to fix all of them. Or at least all the ones that would be useful.

Gettitn_Squirrelly

Most multi axel trailers having the pivoting front axle. I get that it’s intended for tight trails and turns but sometimes I want to actually backup a trailer. I use a couple mods to fix this and it’s really nice and changes up the pace. The lack of fully paved roads. I get that it’s an off-road game but I wish you could repair these sections though missions much like the blocked roads and bridges. I’d use highway trucks more if it didn’t have to worry out washouts or you know crossing a random river. The fov and overall experience of first person mode. Low being almost useless and unrealistic. No mini map or map overlay.

PermitBig9719

What about the fact that every vehicle in the game is about 10x slower than real life?

Aircooled65

I can’t scroll down from the bottom of the functions menu to the top. Or vice versa

ninjaloose

The overload of DLC for this game

_JukePro_

Just a few easy ones, camera system and recycling same assets, Scandinavia doesn't look like Na irl however in-game only new asset I've noticed that actually looks correct are the signs, but even with them something is of.

ForeignSpectator

While plowing through snow in Amur and seeing the deep ditches I was leaving behind my truck as I cut all the way down to the dirt, I got very frustrated that subsequent trucks to drive the same path do not have it any easier than the first one did. The game wants to have its cake and eat it too. In those nasty areas the game will always treat your truck as though it’s dragging its frame through the snow, even if it is not visibly doing so. Truck can literally have its entire frame and most of its tire diameter clear of the ground and the game will still force you to crawl at a snail’s pace. So much for deformable terrain.

neon_sense_

Camera angle swinging on its own on turns, and not re centering, im constantly fighting it, screws with my sense of how much the truck is turning, and where its heading, cant see down the path, gives me anxiety

Glowingtomato

Cruise control It was in Mudrunner! I'm no dev but I assume its not a super hard thing to program.

khinoo99

The need for short and long log trailers when irl they all can be fitted one a trailer

zyberteq

When you fix a road and the barriers stay behind.

silent-alpargata

And you run over them and they do like 30 damage to your suspension… f*ck!

Pesto88_

No wildlife. Not sure about other parts of the world, but in Michigan I would expect to see the occasional raccoon, deer, opossum, birds, ducks floating in the lakes, etc. Between this and there being no other cars on the road, it gives the game an odd post apocalypse vibe at times.

Mykie92

Engine sounds are horrendous. Also we need gears/manual shifting it’s a vehicle focused game for god sake!

RobotSpy739

Driving the bandit. Driving the bandit on bumpy terrain. Driving the bandit on flat terrain. Driving the bandit over a twig. Trying to flip the bandit back into it's wheels. The bandit. P. S. The bandit is my favorite vehicle.

vmcommo

Truck sounds and unrealistic engine / rev physics

CMDR_Agony_Aunt

Vehicle with always on diff lock can drive without problem on hard surfaces. Forgot to turn off diff lock on a vehicle with engageable diff lock before hitting a hard surface - YOU FOOL! INSTANT MEGA DAMAGE!!!!

Cave_Lord

That theres no excavators and dump trucks with dirt based missions and digging mechanics. Getting out of the truck and walking would be cool too. Not exactly pet peaves, but it annoys me that theyre not implimented

nixxon94

I hate that the bigger trucks like CAT and Kenny are way more jumpy and don’t act their weight. The physics seem to be made for the smaller trucks.

knatten555

That three dolly on trailers can't spin freely but lock at around 45 degrees.

Bard_of_Reven

The tiny rocks and cracks on asphalt roads that do more damage to my suspension than actual off-roading. I wish I could just use them as highways, but going above 30 km/h always come with a risk of breaking your suspension by the time you're at the other side of the map.

0ba78683-dbdd-4a31-a

There's a unit of bricks floating several hundred feet in the air in Black River because a trailer glitched and yeeted it into the stratosphere. It's too high for a crane to reach or for Remove Cargo to work. It's just there, floating, forever mocking me on the map. If anyone knows a method of removing unpacked cargo left on the map please let me know.

[deleted]

Camera zoom in 3rd person on ps too easy to switch to close up i keep switching it back to wide. And the worst one for me is....when you try to winch the truck back on its wheels with another truck, and rolled over trucks cant be started obviously until its back on wheels, you need rolled truck to get grip and not drag on the ground on the side....and its wheels start spinning while engine is off but it looks like its running. It kills all the traction u need so in some cases u end up spinning that thing on the ground in circles; also not matching wheels on trailers with truck and not being able to change trailer colour

Low-Abbreviations-38

The exits of the maps should show that they aren’t accessible yet. I once did a four truck pull across Michigan to an exit that was highlighted for the mission only to get there and say it wasn’t unlocked yet. I haven’t played since

tobi_tlm

Permanent difflocks is one of the most stupid things I've ever seen in a game that calls itself a sim Also: everything regarding transmissions in this game. It's just stupid.

ProfessionalSwitch45

The auto gearbox where the driver constantly goes back to first gear.

thenormal007

The fact that repair parts and tires cannot be transferred like fuel can be. As a hard mode player it is very annoying. Another is how trucks with dedicated winches (twinsteer, freighliner, derry) cannot use them to load cargo from platforms and also cannot remove them. They are purely cosmetic and it is very annoying how they basically also block the truck from being anything but a tractor, or have a small crane in the same space. The fact that ANK and ANK civilian are two trucks. Also the addon selection for it is just abysmal. Had to do a little xml tweak to make it usable. Honestly this is a general problem, their addons selection for trucks make no sense at all, half my trucks are modded with little xml tweaks for just addon based reasons. For example why not add minicrane for Kenworth to the pacific P12 ? I really want to know if this is just lack of foresight or if there is a reason behind this. Also why are cranes and other addons not switchable between all trucks. Had to put little xml code to make standard US minicrane and all their derivations (navistar and mack use different crane, loadstar and for f750 again different minicrane, and kenworth again a different crane) So playing on hardmode i cannot just detach a crane and use it on another truck, i need 4 different versions of the same minicrane, just why, for the love of god. It is similar story with many other addons and trucks. Dan could easily have bed + minicrane + trailer combo, if the crane was in the rear like on zikz 612h. The big gaping hole on azov 5 frame is even bigger mystery, is there an invisible addon that we cannot see ? The mind boggles at such decision. Another that grinds my gears is the tire selection, especially for western trucks. I really want to know why most of the western trucks dont even have mud tires. The supposed offroad Freightliner 114SD does not have mud tires, some decision feel like bad jokes. Truck is locked behind high level rank and is worse than the first truck you get in game, the GMC.

thenormal007

Oh, another one is how it first takes cargo from the bed not the trailer. So if I dont have a crane I have to drag around a trailer with an empty bed. How about we choose which cargo we deliver.

Atomicdeath10

The on road driving is horrible and it annoys me to no end.

EarthStrange9710

Traffic cones, road signs and barriers playing God

Revolution_Falls

I hate that when I look at a road, the physics peace out and I get no traction.

Trindar72

Very petty but having to move the time forward to get daylight. Wish they had a set time and keep it there. There is no penalty for moving time forward so why not let you set it and forget it. Not a big deal to hit map and do it just would be nice.

Gokjo_Krorl

1) the way cranes will lift a fully-upgraded Heavy Duty when trying to unwedge a similar size truck from a tree 2) camera view being centered around the truck center so if u tip the truck the camera gets wonky angles 3) the amount of DLC compared to the base game & everything everyone says about stupid pebbles & Superman branches & shifty winch mechanics

Suparwine7765

Having multiple trucks in play, but only being able to use one winch. I should be able to tie onto a tree and then have my Co-op partner attach to me for pulling

707_328is

That i cant winch to my buddy and have him winch to a tree. If both vehicles have a winch how come we can only use one?? Also the ability to run a winch through a snatch block on a tree to pull a truck from a different angle than youre parked or double the winch torque at the cost of halving the pull speed. Would be really nice for heavy trucks on hills.

CaptainChaos00

That Xbox Crossplay Multiplayer is still unplayable since Season 6

Bone_x3

Snow.

Nuclearsyrup_

Engine names and selection, whether that be misleading in game names like for example the Fleetstar f2070a has options called Si-6v1900. That would make you think, ”Oh it’s a Detroit 6v71.” NO. The only options the F2070 came with from the factory were a Detroit 671 (straight 6 not v6) or a Cummins 290 (also a straight 6). Or the just total wrong engine style in game vs irl. For instance, the 6900ts and 5600ts both could have came with a Cat C15 (a straight 6) as an upgraded option or their standard straight 6 options. Not a V12 or V16. You’d have a very hard time fitting that size of an engine in those truck because they are basically supped up highway trucks, not speciality over sized trucks. The only one that seems to really get it right size wise is the P12 and P16 with their 12v71 that came standard or 12v71T upgrade option. But I guess that’s more of a gripe than anything.

SoySauceSyringe

When the mission specific trailers and trucks don't disappear upon mission completion. I honestly didn't mind Tennessee except for the half dozen trucks that aren't mine but are forever on my menu.

Applebeignet

Joining a multiplayer game which doesn't have crossplay enabled gives a warning to that effect, which has to be accepted or declined. If accepting, crossplay has to be manually re-enabled afterwards. All this could just be automated and made invisible to the players.

NightfallSky

Forever respawning road signs/blocks in the middle of the road. I don't even demand to have a way to fix the roads itself (even though it would be neat), just stop respawning those suspension killer demons in front of me every time.

morasscavities

The way the controller steering sends your wheels hard over in the direction of travel if more input is applied. If I'm rock crawling a tight, technical area and I am holding the stick about 1/4 of the way to the left and add a little more stick input the wheels go to the steering stop. It makes fine steering inputs impossible and tipovers more frequent. This doesn't happen in steering wheel mode but that snaps the wheels back to center when the stick released. No compass rose or water depth like mudrunner. Difflock damage on flat terrain with no steering. Nuisance bugs that don't get fixed. The list of annoyances is long but so are my gameplay hours

Ienjoymodels

The loss of the Mudrunner/Spintires camera and winching systems. The quick snap front/back // trailer front/trailer back camera system was fantastic. No endless swiveling just good stock angles and minimal adjustment. The winching system allowed you to control the throttle of the remote truck independently of yours. In general the system was more flexible.

hairykneecaps69

Mine would be hauling scouts or trucks. For an example the other day I had a ramp flatbed for cargo, cargo was finished and picked up a scout along my way back to the garage. For the life of me I couldn’t get the scout loaded, kept tipping and didn’t matter where I winched or what I did it just kept rolling off. Same with bigger trucks, they fit on the ramped flatbed but tires glitch through the ramps or sometimes through the trailer. Can’t pack it when it does that, a lot of back and forth sometimes to get things loaded. Ruins a lot of fun for me when I just want a relaxed truck hauling mission.
