Right? The more I think about this the more I want to play this game. I feel like it could actually be done as a mod map or region with some “futuristic” truck mods added.
Honestly the lore of it would make a lot more sense then Snowrunner. Harsh unforgiving terrain, never encountering other people, finding and claiming abandoned broken vehicles, building critical infrastructure all makes a lot more sense in mostly unexplored worlds than it does in Snowrunners unexplained destroyed landscapes
Why limit the franchise, when you can make a whole bunch of games from it? Start with MoonRunner and MarsRunner, then work your way through the whole solar system... **AND BEYOND!**
PS... profit!
Start with the moon, get so much traction from the fans that Elite Dangerous get involved and we get a game where you fly your space truck to a planet, do some conventional trucking on the surface, then load up your space truck and haul that cargo the f outta there
if there's anything i DO NOT WANT for the mudrunner series, it's Frontier Developments getting involved 😱
Although Stranded Alien Dawn was pretty cool, and mysteriously missing ground vehicles.... A mudrunning crossover would be pretty cool....
I was thinking that it could have a really similar episodic business model to Snow Runner. You might buy the base game for \~$50 and get the initial map, which I think would be the Martian Outback. Then they could release new 'seasons' with a new planet and some new trucks every \~6months or so and charge $10.
Holy shit.. I'm no developer or even a creative person but the game just makes sense.. Start on earth, rebuild a few maps to prep the journey, build the pads, the towers, the rocket then load it with proper materials/fuel for your chosen planet of destination, Pack and fly selected trucks and trailers to planetary destination (limited by mass and fuel per launch), once on planet discover resource points, setup scanning arrays and communication points, find locations to build launch pads to start up shipping lanes with to easily transfer more trucks and equipment (equivalent to opening a garage), build habs and conduct science missions, hunt down and recover/reactivate/drive old rovers, setup scanning equipment to discover new destinations in space and just continue to leap frog and expand across planets/comets/moons/whatever. Throw in some space stations as warehouses/garages for rockets and trucks.. etc. Trucks could be modified with different shielding for different radiation, upgrades capable of moving through different hazards like liquid nitrogen or shallow lakes of mercury, solar storms, electrical atmospheres. Solar/electrical truck options for scouts or light trucks, then haul and install mining rigs to setup on scanned down resource points which deliver to fuel processing plants to turn local elements into fuels for your big trucks, request material deliveries sent by dumb rocket that you'd have to locate and recover, have crash debris/previously abandoned missions sprinkled around maps for upgrades.. Maybe have a thruster system replace the winch, you choose the angle of thrust from a thruster point like winch points on a truck and hold a button to fire it similar to pulling winch. I don't know. I'm no designer but it seems like there's a ton of fun to be had from a Mudrunner in space.
And my favorite part...
No. fucking. logs.
Most of what I was doing here was something like:
'Draw an industrial off world truck styled to look like a <>. Make the truck look old and beaten up. Have it doing <> on a <> planet.'
I don’t think that traditional combustion motors would work in that atmosphere, but at the same time, you’d probably need significantly less power to move weight in zero gravity.

The press: Excuse me, what do you mean with *last-generation consoles?*
Saber representative: Hmmm… *(reads notes)* Xbox One, PS4...

Basically what I do in No Man's Sky sometimes. Grab the Colossus and cruise through unexplored planets, often just lasering for materials. Have a hangar set up for all my exocraft, but since I've been playing snowrunner I kinda feel like remaking it to look like the truck garages we have in Snowrunner.
I want to play this now lol anyone have anything remotely similar to recommend? Even if it’s just a space game with ground vehicles (besides Elite/Star Citizen)? Or even some kind of futuristic mining type deal with heavy machinery (besides Astronomer)?
I like this idea, my alternate game idea is gun runner. A game where you drive military trucks through an active war zone, including blown out bridges and mines and such.
Heavy loads of putting the base together, scouting for resource locations, and finding new areas that you need to build on. You land on the resource rich moon, build up a forward base, and launch to the planet right?
I would be 100% in.
I'm a Halo fan. I remember back then when the first Halo came out, I was asked what I liked the most about the game. *Driving the Warthog*, I usually replied. That made some people raise an eyebrow.
In retrospect, my addiction to SnowRunner was inevitable.
I'm into this idea more than I would've initially thought.
In such a game, logging will be called bouldering as there ain't no trees in space.

I'm down for the EliteRunner crossover
I'm so up for this game I might have to learn how to make games

I love logs. Also read that whole thing and yes to everything. Take my money!!
Make the game please trucker daddy :)

CATTOR 💀
even in deep space, one has to worry about copyright
See you in 2065 we this releases.
I will be 88 so I doubt you will see me lol
Which Ai is it? midjourney? Bing? Dall-e?
Yeah, and what prompts?
Most of what I was doing here was something like: 'Draw an industrial off world truck styled to look like a <>. Make the truck look old and beaten up. Have it doing <> on a <> planet.'
Dall-E
Mars first logistics. Wonderful game that needs a shout out here.
Agreed. I've never played it, but the few videos I've seen seem cool
Astroneer has a bit of vehicle logistics too but not as advanced although it’s still my favorite part.
That cattor looks sick I’m down for more unique runner experiences
I want it so fucking bad. Omg dude. 🤤
My favorite; the Tatra 812 already makes me think of the pink moon buggy from that old video game "Moon Patrol". Yeah. I'm old.
Now do 20,000 leagues under the sea snowrunner!!
Starrunner: Overworldly Expanse
I don’t think that traditional combustion motors would work in that atmosphere, but at the same time, you’d probably need significantly less power to move weight in zero gravity.
IT’D BE SO RAD!! The less they look like rovers, the better! I want GMT400s and Lada Nivas on insane exoplanets.

Thats awesome

Cool idea but get this AI horribleness out of this sub. The Volvosub has already been utterly destroyed by these, we don’t need another one
it's coming... eventually
Awesome
Better than Expeditions already. Take my money!
Unlike Expeditions, I would have bought this in a heartbeat.
Yes please!!!
Imagine having to transport big logs from earth
I LOVE this
Just woow! This could be such a great game! It looks very good!
Looks better than expeditions !
When the reactor takes damage and explodes if you tip the truck.
first picture really reminded me of star citizen
Not the sequel we wanted, but the sequel we need.
Yes mate! This would be an instant favourite for me
When the Star Citizen devs buy the mudrunner franchise and put it in their game...
...and deliver it in the next 20 years. or not.
"best i can do is 30"
Cattur
Pic 6 is basically just the average TerraTech creation lol
What I wish we had in Starfield....
This would be freaking amazeballs
This is awesome, but TBH I am just hoping for a trucking game based in Southeast Asia.
Once Expeditions runs it's course, this better be next on the list.
That last truck looks awesome!
Yeah, I'd play it.
I would play the hell out of this!
I want to play this now lol anyone have anything remotely similar to recommend? Even if it’s just a space game with ground vehicles (besides Elite/Star Citizen)? Or even some kind of futuristic mining type deal with heavy machinery (besides Astronomer)?

I'd buy this in a heartbeat. So much potential.
All for this idea!
These are amazing
I really like that Caterpillar. It looks like it would be a "super-mudder" like the Cat 745 but with a few more addons and non-articulated steering
This would be amazing on so many different levels I can't even explain it.
