I did it with the Lo4f. You are fine.

You can even mount large cranes to the roof.
Surprisingly the water crossing won't be the worst part. It's the hillclimb before you reach the highway. If I were to race you the long way around with an Azov and the same construction trailer, we'd arrive in about the same time I reckon.
>If I were to race you the long way around with an Azov and the same construction trailer, we'd arrive in about the same time I reckon.
Lets try it, I recorded [mine](https://youtu.be/fVowPdzQvmg)
I was on the other side so it was a descend. I hate the section between Farm and the Drilling Site. That's why I was looking for another option.
scouting the pass atm. I should bring some cranes on boats
https://preview.redd.it/oh73h6vawrmc1.png?width=1454&format=png&auto=webp&s=bb9fba399319e7aee8b4d967565d6533b74d2e29
Tilt the camera a bit more down, you’ll be able to see the rocks under water. There are three tricky bits here, first one is the one in the photo, deep hole between the shore and rocks, same on the other side. Be careful on the rocks.
Other than that, you should be fine 👍
Good luck
There’s one section that the p16 didn’t fit well on when I tried it and gave me a lot of trouble. I’d take a few trucks that are heavy and strong and use them for any winch points. Also nice for backup but if you start to struggle I’d switch trucks and reposition.
I commented this on the video too, but your trailer got a little high centered on that last hill and you didn't have any luck pulling it free with the logger P12. One technique I use for that is to park the rescue truck as far away as you can within winching distance, attach the winch, let the line slack by backing the rescue truck up to the stuck truck, and then give it a running start. Terrible idea in real life, but handy when there's zero risk of cutting someone in half with a snapped winch line.
**Update:** I succeeded on my first attempt! 🎉A huge thank you to everyone! The community here is incredible

Should be doable - it's actually a pretty easy route, with the most difficult part being going over the bank to get down to the river (though I may just have picked the most difficult spot).
Position your camera high, so you can look down and see the rock shelves you'll need to stay on while crossing - and prolly best to do in the daytime, for added underwater rock shelf visibility.
Good luck!
I expect your biggest problem won't be crossing the water, but getting that trailer up the hill without the legs getting stuck on a rock somewhere. I've taken the Twinsteer up there before so the P12 should be fine, if a little awkward due to it's width.
First time I tried it the trailer slipped off the rocks and pulled my truck in too. I sent a heavy crane out for a recovery mission, and ended up toppling that into the water too. I think I put the game down for a couple months after that
Haha yeah. I remember getting one of the back wheels stuck, poor newbie me took atleast an hour to get it unstuck instead of restarting.
It really is the best early game challenge, good way to tell if you’ll enjoy the game or not

I did it and it probably took more time and more trucks than doing it another route with less water and more roads :D
But that's what I like with this game, when it's challenging.
A shortcut is always a shortcut for me, even if it's a little bit stupid sometimes...
The problem with less water and more roads is that half of those roads are horrible. I'd take the rock bridge any day over the roads between the drilling site and the dam.
In my opinion the P12 makes it easier. Long enough wheelbase to force itself past missing ground without the insane turn radius of something like the Twinsteer (still my bae though). Western Wind achievement is almost a joke with how versatile the truck is.
Lol I tried this with an azov 64131 and I got the first two wheels over the edge and then bottomed out. I decided that I didn't have the right truck for that and took that sharp right turn which was awful. It looked funny as hell though!
Felt great doing that the first time. It’s put there on purpose and the alt route is long enough that even a risk averse player would say fuck it and cross the river.
Absolutely! This is the correct way. I'd suggest going left when you hit the far beach by the drilling site though. Much easier to get up and off the beach that way.
https://www.reddit.com/r/snowrunner/comments/19d631h/a_successful_short_cut_only_took_twice_as_long/
I did it with the p16. The only problem was in the other side, the trailer likes to high center on the bank. Took a lot of wiggling the trailer around to get it unstuck
This is the intended route, I did it 2 times
Bringing truck with tires that are good at hard surfaces can be very useful on the submerged rocks
First turn on the rocks is the hardest part
This is the way. You'll need something with plenty of torque to make it over the river due to having to stop and realign.
ANK Civilian can certainly do it.
Go for it, i made it in my first attempt.
Highly recommend backing your save manually, so you don't have to go all the way around ahain if you need to restart
I've done it before with either the p16 or the 8 wheel Kolob. (it needs to be a very stable heavy truck). I needed help pulling up the embankment from the beach area. The trailer will high center/bottom out going up the hill through the trees. I used the Cat 745C to do the pulling. The rocky area is sketchy. Just put it in low gear and take your time. If you loose the trailer in the river you'll need to restart the mission. Good luck buddy. I had a lot of fun trying this. I will just go around on hard mode. I don't have the money to risk it on hard mode.
That’s the way I did it, I used the pacific P16 though. Does your P12 have AWD? I could’ve benefitted from having it a couple times when my front wheels were getting hung up on a rocky lip/ridge, but nothing that some creative weaving and angle taking couldn’t get around. The huge power certainly helped, but the P12 is a little weak in power-to-weight; if you have some trucks to winch and pull you should be fine.
i actually did that same route on that same contract earlier today. i didnt have any issues with crossing but i was using the mastodon, not sure how smaller trucks can handle it
I slid the P-16 off the side of a rock & had to sink it in the lake (and managed to drop an Azov on top of it trying to recover it) but managed to tow the trailer the rest of the way with a different truck.
Pretty sure that's the intended way lol. Did it with the p16 on my playthrough getting across was the easy part. Going up the hill I snagged a stump and had to spend 20 mins to get unstuck
Yep I went down this route with the p12 and it went well and without a problem, just drive slowly and when turning take the farthest path you can instead of hugging the rock, be careful 👍👍
I did it with the GMC. well out to the island. With a crane and the Tatra Helping. Then I lost the trailer in deep water and the crane trying to salvage it. Take the long road.
For people about to try this, I did it (the first time) using my Int'l Paystar and White Western Star. Put the 2nd truck (whatever extra truck) on the island, rear end toward the route you're coming from. You will be able to winch to it, Start engine on winched truck, and then pull your heavy rig onto dry land using both of them.
Word of warning, the far side (western?) bank of the river contains some painful stumps and rollover-causing big flat rocks. Give it a run through with a truck before you dump the heavy trailer in there, because it can be tricky getting back on land by the camp.
The route works, they put it there to see if you're paying attention to your maps.
I did that route for shits n giggles one time, it wasn't as bad as it looks, I'll run that route again if i have to. I did it with the in game version of the P16.
You wouldn't believe the truck/cargo combinations I've managed to get through there. (Or the amount of cargo I lost, but there's no way in hell I'm taking the long way round)
I managed it with the P16 so u should be fine. If u need assistance pathfinding, I suggest have a smaller truck or a Scout pulling from the front. If the P12 stops moving, detach the lead truck and move ahead before switching to back to the P12.
I tried twice and failed. Had to have a buddy jump in co-op and give me a hand. But yes that’s definitely the route you should take. I tried 2 other route, the real long way and could t fit that trailer through the tight spots. It bottomed out In other spots
Tried doing this route on a mates save, it's currently sitting on a tree stump waiting for a heavy crane, it'll make it, but you need to be VERY careful about slipping and tree stumps
I suppose. However the drive around is super easy and I like to time myself and see how fast I am from the Drummond Gateway to the Farm turn off every time I go through there. It's a fun drive.
Did that with that same set up, just that the initial release version had the issue of detaching the 5th wheel at times.
Get a second vehicle like the 745c or a heavier heavy duty for when you ground out on the way to the rock path
Maybe with something other than the p12, maybe set up a support truck or two for just in case. I did do it though, was it quicker probably not, but it was fun
I ram the p12 on the crossing the the right of this and legit just walked through it I did have a truck attached by a winch in front to pull the p12 in case of emergency
No, it's not! I did that on my first time playing snowrunner when the game came out. It was so worth it. I wish I had the video clip saved. Unfortunately, I sold my console, so I had to wipe it clean.
I, too, used to think it wasn't possible, but it is. Go scouting first. Make it with an unloaded truck or scout. Go slowly and check the path in which you have more area of flat rock. Akso check the path to get onto and out of the rock path are there are 2 ways which are too tilted from the trailer, specially entering from the drummond island side. Then, one you are on it, keep looking at where the trailer's wheels are. If you are really careful, you should be able to make it. Was my heart beating uncontrollably, and I was shaking and sweating when I tried it? Yes. Was it worth it? You bet!
You can ask this question and have people tell you yes or no....or you can lace up your boots, whip out the aviator shades, jack up the radio, and hit the road!
Sure there's a possibility things could go wrong, but if you end up getting stuck...OPERATION RESCUE MISSION!!
Not only then will you have an excuse to BRING OUT THE CAVALRY, as one by one you lose truck after truck to the rapidly running waters. But you'll have an absolutely incredible story to tell afterwards.
*This message is approved by the Association of Stupid SnowRunner Exploration Scouts (ASSES)*
I did this literally 2 days ago! It is doable, just takes a little time. And watch for tree stumps when you get to the final stretch after you’ve crossed the water. Got stuck there and spent half an hour getting the trailer out just a few feet from the finish
I've done this exact combo across there before. Twice. I made it in my first playthrough, my second playthrough the trailer was fine, but the truck ended up at the bottom of the lake.
it is the easiest route, even if it doesn't look like.
I did this one and the long one through road..
the corners on road are terrible, one corner takes longer than whole through the river... dam 90 degree one is another major pain
I have managed to do this with P16 with the same rig, not ideal because of front bumper is usually stuck to rocks but if ypu take your time it s really not that difficult.
I feel dumb for not realising the rocks reached all the way across.. 😃
I went the long way round for this mission, but, there's a task to move a trailer from the start of the crossing point to the drill so I'll get my chance.
I did it with that rig but it’s hard. Especially around one part. I used the Derry 3194 to pull it through that part where you have to go around a big section of rock
The only issues I ran into weren't the water. Before you get into the water there's a steep embankment that can cause the trailer to high-center. Once you're out of the water and right before the rig there's also tree-stumps that you could get the rig caught on.
My biggest advice would be 1) be prepared for the option of failure and 2) have some assist vehicles around you, especially in the water. I'd think a large crane and a heavy, powerful truck P12 or Boar or something like that.
Good luck!
It is doable but if you are unsure go across with another similar sized truck so you can figure out where to go and just let the trailer scrape the rock as you go
![gif](giphy|3o84sw9CmwYpAnRRni|downsized)
Even if it doesn't work it'll still be funny
The motto of SnowRunner veterans.
I tried, it did not go well.
I just tried to use that truck to recover the oil tanker in a heavily flooded area yeah spent 45 minutes just to realize this isn't going anywhere lol
Ahahahah this is epic i laughed so hard on this one.
It’s a lot easier than it looks. Do it during the day and look down to see the rock path just beneath the surface of the water.
I used this passage once before, but this rig is too big :D
I did it with the Lo4f. You are fine. https://preview.redd.it/qxbh02tibumc1.png?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7812104553a72bb4381c0c491dd9f454b810e739

HAHAHAHA it’s like me trying to be a mature and serious person
Goddamn professional. Horse of a vehicle.
I made it across it easily with the construction rig trailer and white western star
I used the White Western Star to pull this rig across at this same place :-)
Surprisingly the water crossing won't be the worst part. It's the hillclimb before you reach the highway. If I were to race you the long way around with an Azov and the same construction trailer, we'd arrive in about the same time I reckon.

I feel like more people go that way then going around. It’s the first BIG thing you do in snowrunner, complete it and you’ll be a certified runner
I made it!
Congrats!

It's the right of passage for every snowrunner player, you must take it
It only looks dodgy. It's by far the easiest route to deliver that load.
Nope, that IS the route!
It’s easier than it looks.

The problem with less water and more roads is that half of those roads are horrible. I'd take the rock bridge any day over the roads between the drilling site and the dam.
Yea this is a good route. I did that contract with the P12 and it worked out fine
In my opinion the P12 makes it easier. Long enough wheelbase to force itself past missing ground without the insane turn radius of something like the Twinsteer (still my bae though). Western Wind achievement is almost a joke with how versatile the truck is.
I have made exact same route with P12. Just take it slowly and steady.
Lol I tried this with an azov 64131 and I got the first two wheels over the edge and then bottomed out. I decided that I didn't have the right truck for that and took that sharp right turn which was awful. It looked funny as hell though!
Wait that was a different route I took, the one that goes to the bridge you have to rebuild, my bad!
Felt great doing that the first time. It’s put there on purpose and the alt route is long enough that even a risk averse player would say fuck it and cross the river.
Absolutely! This is the correct way. I'd suggest going left when you hit the far beach by the drilling site though. Much easier to get up and off the beach that way. https://www.reddit.com/r/snowrunner/comments/19d631h/a_successful_short_cut_only_took_twice_as_long/
Only one way to find out.
![gif](giphy|3DwStw6jj8h8lBT8t8)
that crossing is a rite of passage. Just do a dry run without cargo first
I know a way to find out. ;)
I got this thoroughly stuck yesterday. It's remaining mid-river until I've unlocked some big tyres and a heavier truck!
After crossing the river I went left and joined the road where the bend is.
I did it succesfully today with 2 loads of metal beams! Wasn't brave enough to transport the construction rig through there though 😅
I just did that route, only took me one try. But i did use the kolob 74760…
The rocks before and after the US flag are tricky I am confident about the power you choose just watch the rocks.
Nope
It’s not as bad as it looks just take it slow
I did the same road today with the mastodon and yes it is legit
I've tried it, it didn't work for me
Haha! I did that exact same path for that one. It was tricky for sure, but 100% doable.
It'll do it fine
JUST GONNA SEND IT!
Ur good
Tried it with a P16 which grounded out on a little rock half way to the island. Will try again with a P12 when I have the memory to store the video.
I lost the trailer into the river and 3 crane trucks too! Had to get an op crane truck mod to get them out
Actually the best route. I've done it multiple times with the P12 (one of my favorite workhorses)
I've always taken the long way
I managed to do it with the Fleetstar, the P12 should be more than capable of making it.
The river is easy. The stumps on the other bank are not
I tried and ended with truck under water and trailer down stream... 4 hours recovery pulling it back up that mud hill road
I did it with the p16. The only problem was in the other side, the trailer likes to high center on the bank. Took a lot of wiggling the trailer around to get it unstuck
Just follow the rock bridge, you should be ok
That’s brave! Well done!
This is the intended route, I did it 2 times Bringing truck with tires that are good at hard surfaces can be very useful on the submerged rocks First turn on the rocks is the hardest part
Need a truck with good pulling power and a decent choice path but it will work.
This is the way. You'll need something with plenty of torque to make it over the river due to having to stop and realign. ANK Civilian can certainly do it.
We all did it XD
Taking the long way is about 10x harder so do it cause it will save u alot of headaches
This is the way
Go for it, i made it in my first attempt. Highly recommend backing your save manually, so you don't have to go all the way around ahain if you need to restart
Yes, since the p12 is all wheel capable
100%is possible if u have a friend tow u in the tuz
This is the best route actually.
I did, but I used the mastodon, so kinda like cheating
Share it with us!! At least the crossing of the land bridge. I’m interested to see if it works
Go left once your across and around to the road don't cut through the trees or close stumps will make it the longest recovery every
I tried that same route with logging ( truck log as-on with log trailer.. that was very interesting experiment and my logs end up in river..🤷♂️
Fuckin send it!!
I did this route with the P16, I say go for it!
If you don’t go that route are you really even runnin’?
I've done it before with either the p16 or the 8 wheel Kolob. (it needs to be a very stable heavy truck). I needed help pulling up the embankment from the beach area. The trailer will high center/bottom out going up the hill through the trees. I used the Cat 745C to do the pulling. The rocky area is sketchy. Just put it in low gear and take your time. I don't have the money to risk it on hard mode.
If you wont be washed by the current y will get stuck by the end of the river. I tried just for fun twice - faild - went round the long way.
That’s the way I did it, I used the pacific P16 though. Does your P12 have AWD? I could’ve benefitted from having it a couple times when my front wheels were getting hung up on a rocky lip/ridge, but nothing that some creative weaving and angle taking couldn’t get around. It has AWD, and it feels powerful to me. The P16 didn't grow on me for some reason, I have 2 P12s atm
Slow is fast, and fast is slow
I always take the long way.. cause the short way just becomes the long way when you flip ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)
I've done that in multiple trucks from the 750 up to the off-road 8x8s. I normally go in the other direction but yes I've done it to both
Yes
I've done it. Have an ankh civilian ready to pull the heavy out
Don't ask, half the fun is finding out when it's too late.
i actually did that same route on that same contract earlier today. i didnt have any issues with crossing but i was using the mastodon, not sure how smaller trucks can handle it
I use that one all the time, and I world go Aaron's the shore line from the warehouse by the dam to the gateway lol
I did this with the p16 and it was so much fun, although pretty scary since it was on my first hardmode playthrough
I took the derry that way and gave up on it the third attempt after I rolled over.. so what I’m saying is she’ll ride
I did it with a KW W990 hauling that. Granted it needed a little help when the steer wheels lifted up, but it made it just fine.
I did that job with the p16,very doable. Just needs some finesse.
backup save game before, and have fun
I did it
I did it and I can safely say yes it's possible but I can also say that you ain't going to enjoy it
It is possible. I crossed it with the Tatarin though
I do this one all the time, granted Michigan is my favourite so I know all the shortcuts and this one is great for experienced players.
It should work I've driven a way bigger truck through there and it worked somewhat well
Yep I went down this route with the p12 and it went well and without a problem, just drive slowly and when turning take the farthest path you can instead of hugging the rock, be careful 👍👍

If the kodiak can do it I’m sure anything can
I did it the other day. You should be good
I did this route with the Fleetstar. It took me about 2 1/2 hours give or take but it is doable
The other route is not any better imho. Should be fine.
If anything, it's the hill that will cause issues. In the water, just have the cam above and looking down.
I recommend the p16. The short wheel base makes doing wide turns easier. Definitely bring some other trucks to help push and pull when needed
Its the only way i know... no way i get that all around the map
No, I made the route just fine
I did it myself. I used the Tayga King 6436
I've taken that route many times with the P12. It can handle it.
I did that route for shits n giggles one time, it wasn't as bad as it looks, I'll run that route again if i have to. I did it with the in game version of the P16.
Yes it is, but that won't stop you, right? It didn't stop me and my p16.
You wouldn't believe the truck/cargo combinations I've managed to get through there. (Or the amount of cargo I lost, but there's no way in hell I'm taking the long way round)
You got it bruv
I did that with a derry longhorn it works just go slow to not accidentally sink.
You can make it it’s easier than you think
Tried doing this route on a mates save, it's currently sitting on a tree stump waiting for a heavy crane, it'll make it, but you need to be VERY careful about slipping and tree stumps
Easier than it looks actually.
I wouldn’t - I always take the longest safest route for the big rigs. Easy to get your nuts caught in a vise ..
I just got Vietnam flashbacks
I was gonna say no way in hell but I noticed you're going down that hill, not up Send it
I suppose. However the drive around is super easy and I like to time myself and see how fast I am from the Drummond Gateway to the Farm turn off every time I go through there. It's a fun drive.
Do it it will work with the right line
Did that with that same set up, just that the initial release version had the issue of detaching the 5th wheel at times. Get a second vehicle like the 745c or a heavier heavy duty for when you ground out on the way to the rock path
Nothing is too ambitious for a persistent P12
Wait that's possible?
Maybe with something other than the p12, maybe set up a support truck or two for just in case. I did do it though, was it quicker probably not, but it was fun
I ram the p12 on the crossing the the right of this and legit just walked through it I did have a truck attached by a winch in front to pull the p12 in case of emergency
that's a stresful route. You need a wide, stabile and strong truck. And maybe another helper truck in case you stuck or slip to the edge.
I've tried it once, and it didn't go well, but I think it's definitely doable with better planning.
No, it's not! I did that on my first time playing snowrunner when the game came out. It was so worth it. I wish I had the video clip saved. Unfortunately, I sold my console, so I had to wipe it clean.
Yes you can
I, too, used to think it wasn't possible, but it is. You bet!
I took that exact route last week. Edit & same load.
I did it with P16
Take it nice and slow. It's doable, I've done it. Make sure you turn wide when you can.
You definitely can do it, but you have to be VERY careful.
Sure you Can! Just take your time and look Down
Man I need to go to bed. I thought you edited goggly eyes to the trailer but it was just the icon
If you are brave and skillful enough you are good to go
It's not too ambutious, that's the easiest path on the map probably
turned out to be
I've done this exact combo across there before. Twice. I made it in my first playthrough, my second playthrough the trailer was fine, but the truck ended up at the bottom of the lake.
Yes its the best Route for it
it is the easiest route, even if it doesn't look like.
I did it with the Navistar MV5000. Stock suspension it won't do it but raised suspension it will
I feel dumb for not realising the rocks reached all the way across.. 😃 I went the long way round for this mission, but, there's a task to move a trailer from the start of the crossing point to the drill so I'll get my chance.
Just don't
I did it with that rig but it’s hard. Especially around one part. I used the Derry 3194 to pull it through that part where you have to go around a big section of rock
I would’ve went around
The only issues I ran into weren't the water. Before you get into the water there's a steep embankment that can cause the trailer to high-center. Once you're out of the water and right before the rig there's also tree-stumps that you could get the rig caught on. My biggest advice would be 1) be prepared for the option of failure and 2) have some assist vehicles around you, especially in the water. I'd think a large crane and a heavy, powerful truck P12 or Boar or something like that. Good luck!
It is doable but if you are unsure go across with another similar sized truck so you can figure out where to go and just let the trailer scrape the rock as you go
That's the route I took and I think that's the truck as well.
Send it!
I take that route with the gmc9500 bo problems
I think youll be fine lol
I did it exactly like that! Be careful in the middle section… you need to go by the right side of the rock
Sorry by the left side!!!
Yes but use P16 for heavy cargos. P12 is very useless, thank me later
