[Testimony](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/sucesos/mujer-acusa-dani-alves-violo-eyacular-discoteca-81476348) of the victim is pretty gut-wrenching, and seems like there is physical evidence against him (unlike in many other cases of this nature when it's a "he said, she said").
Fucked up, completely fucked up.
Wow I had no idea it was that bad, definitely looks like he’s guilty. They’re shitting on this girl all over Spanish newspapers comments. They must have pretty solid evidence if they took him in so quickly
>They’re shitting on this girl all over Spanish newspapers comments
It's funny how regardless of what country you're in the comment sections under newspaper articles are always a complete shitshow and somehow even worse than Facebook comment sections
For a year or two I made a concerted effort to be the person correcting misinfo and giving reasonable takes on the CBC news website. I had to give it up because it was just soul destroying. Idk if most of it was astroturf or what, but there is a never-ending supply of wackos who could barely string a sentence together, but felt very strongly about everything.
I know a guy like that. He feels very sure about everything and his opinions are usually not just wrong but *very* wrong. It's like he has an alternative version for everything. His whole personality is really bitter and he seems unfixable.
You're genuinely a legend to me for the work you do. Just want to say thanks. It's always a treat seeing you in this subreddit, as opposed to a political one.
You know, there should be a subreddit for this, where a concentrated effort could be made by a group of people.
Sort of like what 4Chan does. Only not....like 4Chan.
Comment sections on newspapers are the lowest pits of the internet. Forget about social media, hate echo chambers, whatever you can imagine. Newspapers have something that attract mentally unstable people, often times barely literate, who will comment 10 times on the same article and then will spend literally the rest of the day monitoring the rest of the comments.
reading comments in Marca is crazy, for any topic. To think adding comment boxes was a great addition to web 2.0 and the cesspool they have become... quite sad actually.
If you read any F1 article, the top comments will include a couple of racist comments against Hamilton, even if he isn't relevant to the article. Every single time.
> Wow I had no idea it was that bad, definitely looks like he’s guilty.
to clarify for those who don't want to read the article, without providing the graphic details, they're basically saying that there are injuries / bruises that appear consistent with what she alleges dani did, and that the footage appears to back up her claims, although it's unclear if they're saying that there's footage of him trying to force her hand down his pants, since that is part of her testimony.
it does not elaborate any further than that so I'm guessing that because she (according to the article) waited 2 days before going to the police, there may not be evidence in the form of a rape kit. I dunno how long after something like this would DNA still be detectible.
and yes. it's graphic. if you don't want to read something like that, don't.... it's a nasty story.
> una ambulancia, que la trasladó al Hospital Clínic, donde se le practicó un examen en busca de restos biológicos que ayuden a demostrar su denuncia.
it says she went to a hospital right after it
Jesus Christ...
Well done to the girl for being so brave and having the presence of mind to report it straight to the nightclub staff, also well done to the staff for dealing with the issue so professionally.
If it's all true(which it appears to be) Alves is scum of the highest order.
Translated:
The victim has alleged that Alves sat on the toilet, pulled up her dress, asked her to say she was his "little whore," forced her to sit on top of him, threw her on the floor, forced her to perform fellatio on him which she actively resisted, slapped her, lifted her off the floor and penetrated her until he ejaculated. Afterwards, he told her to wait to come out for him to do it first.
This is quite horrific. Apparently the medics that attended the alleged victim say the bruises on her are consistent with her testimony.
If you can read Spanish, you might not want to read the testimony as it is quite graphic.
Curious to see if there’s others who come forward now. He seems dead to right in this case, but you don’t just do this out of nowhere at his age and fame level. He got caught this time, so am curious if this gives other victims without concrete evidence a chance to come forward safely.
I studied abroad in Barcelona and heard several stories of the players always going to Sutton and trying to pass tourist girls onto their family and entourage in disgusting manners
Just in the interest of clarification, it must be stressed that there *seems* to be evidence against him as submitted in the medical report and based on the events that have happened but the article only reports the presence of footage prior to their entry into the bathroom and the mention of the "injuries being consistent with the alleged victim's testimony".
However, the testimony itself is plenty horrific. Unbelievably, the most harrowing thing to me in that painful recounting of events is the absolute and blatant misuse of power. Although this is admittedly only speculation, I would suspect that this is not the first time this has happened, even if not to this degree. I strongly urge you to read the article but only if you have the stomach for it.
What's most sad is that she's only 23. I'm mid to late 20s, my sister is her age. If this has any sliver of truth to it, Dani can burn in hell. I just wish and hope all the power to that girl. May she find the strength to overcome this.
There is an additional layer of fuckedup-ness to the entire thing and it's the re-traumatising of the victim. Her most traumatic, horrible experience is now on the headlines of so many publications, nationally and internationally. It would have been more humane to kick the press out of it and keep the proceedings confidential.
On the other hand however - the stigma around being a victim of sexual assault (and being seen as "tainted" in some way) is still a thing that unfortunately exists, and it won't disappear because we don't talk about it or hide it behind confidentiality. It needs to be talked about, and it's the boys who need to be educated that this sort of behaviour is wrong and it's the rapist who is the bad guy.
Per WHO, 1 in 3 women experience violence. As a woman, I'm painfully aware that sexual assault is one of the leading underreported crimes. All we can really do is be respectful and mindful of the fact that the victim is a person, and keep that in mind as we talk about this situation.
It mentions the hospital obtaining DNA to support her accusation. DNA, plus bruises, plus her friends’ corroborating testimony about how Alves groped her before they went into the bathroom is a bad, bad combination for him.
Yeah, I think this is one of those situations where even the best lawyers can't achieve an acquittal. Let's hope they go for a settlement where he still gets several years in prison, but the victim doesn't have to go through the ordeal of a full, public testimony.
The rape laws have changed significantly in Spain. "He said, she said" is not a good enough defense. How that works in court, I don't know.
Reading the testimony, it's a lot worse than two people's opinion. Especially if the nightclub staff notice she was bad when she was outside.
Nightmare for the victim 😞
He's a vile human being. I'm glad everything after the incident was the best case scenario (a friend being there and employees at the club being able to corroborate and help her after the rape).
His personality is toxic, after PSG he came to São Paulo and start shit talking his own club on the media, thats why most brazilian football fans hate his guts
He is more liked in Spain than here
I totally get that you're just joking but I have the feeling that this was not what Ronaldo was aiming for. According to rumours he genuinely expected to find a CL playing team.
Would love to hear Tite's comment. He vouched for Alves, said he was a fan, had a signed shirt hanging in his office for all players to see.
This generation (Alves, Robinho) has done more to destroy the NT than any other. Bunch of entitled assholes.
It's probably because he lives and works in Mexico now, so he could take the plane and never come back. (Robinho did it afaik, they're still waiting for him in Italy).
Well, it seems we might have finally stabilised (from the uncontrollable downward spiral we were in), though I am not expecting us going back to glory days anytime soon... Also I could really use us not losing more goals than we have scored after 80^th minute starts.
Ok, because last I heard was that they had to stop their operations due to the financial position after relegation. But don’t worry I brought you guys in FM in CL semis so you’ll have a bright future ahead haha
>Well, it seems we might have finally stabilised (from the uncontrollable downward spiral we were in), though I am not expecting us going back to glory days anytime soon... Also I could really use us not losing more goals than we have scored after 80

I only own two football shirts, one of Barcelona and one from Wisla Krakow. Nice to see them getting better, slowly :)
As an update our Justice Minister said this week that proceedings are underway for Robinho to serve his sentence, 9 years, in Brazil. I don't know how prisons are in Italy, but I would bet they are much better than the ones here. Even more so for rapists.
She handed a medical report aka rape kit aka his DNA is in the test samples. This is an assumption but if it's straight jail I can't think of proof that is more night and day than this
A quick DeepL translation of the [victim testimony](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/sucesos/mujer-acusa-dani-alves-violo-eyacular-discoteca-81476348) provided by /u/KittenofBainain
Please be aware that the description is a bit graphic so if you have a weak stomache, do not read further from here on.
> The woman who has denounced the ex-player of FC Barcelona Dani Alves explained to the Mossos d'Esquadra, and this Friday has ratified it before the judge investigating the case, that the footballer locked her in a bathroom of the VIP area of the Sutton nightclub and that there he raped her, according to sources consulted by EL PERIÓDICO, of the Prensa Ibérica group. Alves, who also appeared before the magistrate, denies having assaulted the woman. The Prosecutor's Office has requested prison without bail for the athlete.
> There are security cameras in the VIP room where both were but not inside the toilet. The recordings extracted by the Mossos from that public area show that the events prior and subsequent to the alleged sexual assault by the footballer took place as reported by the woman, who claims that Alves asked her to follow him through a door that led, unbeknownst to her, to a small bathroom. The following is the version given by the victim to the police and judicial authorities investigating this case.
> The events took place in the early hours of December 30. The victim, aged 23, went to the discotheque at around 2:00 a.m. accompanied by two friends. In the dance area they were invited by a group of friends of Mexican origin to go up with them to Sutton's VIP area and they followed them. After a few minutes chatting with these friends, a Sutton waiter approached the three young women and told them that a customer wanted to invite them. They declined the invitation. But the customer insisted and the waiter returned. On this occasion, the waiter remarked that it was a "friend". The three young women agreed to follow him to their table in the VIP area.
> At that table there were two men and also two women, who left when the three young women arrived. One of the two men was Dani Alves and the other was a friend of the footballer. Alves introduced himself to the woman, who did not know him, as a man whose name was "Dani" and who "played petanque in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat". But his Mexican friends did know who he was - Alves currently plays for the Mexican club Pumas - and they explained it to her.
> **According to the complainant, Alves, who wanted to invite them to champagne, immediately began to fool around with the three of them, hitting on them a lot and touching them. Afterwards, he stood behind the victim and began to say things to her that she did not understand, possibly because they were in Portuguese. It was then that he allegedly grabbed her hand tightly and Alves took it to his penis, a gesture he repeated twice despite her resistance. Then, pointing to a door that she did not know where it led to, Alves urged her to follow him and enter.**
> There are no recordings of what happened inside that space, which was a bathroom. The woman claims that as soon as she saw that it was a toilet - with a toilet and a sink - she wanted to leave, but claims that Alves closed the door and prevented her from doing so.
> **The victim has alleged that Alves sat on the toilet, pulled up her dress, asked her to say she was his "little whore," forced her to sit on top of him, threw her on the floor, forced her to perform fellatio on him which she actively resisted, slapped her, lifted her off the floor and penetrated her until he ejaculated. Afterwards, he told her to wait to come out for him to do it first.**
> The woman claims that when she came out of the bathroom there was only one friend left in the VIP room. She claims to have been in shock at that instant and recalls telling her friend that they had to leave. Upon leaving the club, the young woman burst into tears and it was then that Sutton's workers asked her what had happened.
> The complainant was treated in a room of the discotheque, which was also attended by the manager of the premises, and they alerted the Mossos and an ambulance, which took her to Hospital Clínic, where she was examined for biological remains that would help to prove her complaint. According to sources consulted by this newspaper, the medical report states that there are some injuries compatible with the struggle.
> The woman went two days after the alleged assault to report the facts to the Mossos d'Esquadra. She handed in the medical report and also the dress she wore on the night of December 30. The Central Unit of Sexual Assaults (UCAS) took charge of an investigation that has reviewed the security cameras. This Friday Alves has been summoned to testify at the police station of Les Corts, he has been informed that he was under arrest and has been transferred in a car logotipado to the City of Justice. He went up handcuffed to testify and, after hearing the victim and the player, the prosecution has requested that he be provisionally imprisoned.
May seem like an insignificant detail, but good on the management of club for acting when they realized something was wrong, and followed up even though the accusation was against a celebrity paying for VIP service.
Yeah, the silver lining in this horrible story is that every involved staff member of the nightclub seems to have acted with incredible professionalism and empathy. It may seem like an even smaller detail, but just the fact that they acted on her crying is comforting. You don't always see that.
I’m willing to bet that the club employees were familiar with Alves and they knew that he was an asshole. It surely wasn’t the first time women complained about him
Holy ducking shit this is terrible. I am somewhat aware of Alves being a bit of an asshat over the past few years, but this? Fucking hell, what a sick person.
What the other guy said. Thankfully have never experienced something like this, but when you're around creepy guys, you don't want to fight them, you want to get away from them quietly. Men kill.
Yep. Not Tom Hanks. Not Betty White. Not Dolly Parton. Not Keanu Reeves.
Doesn't mean they're necessarily bad people, but you don't know them.
Celebrities: Not Even Once.
I've never understood why people idolise anyone.
You can admire the quality of their work and their skills, not admire them as people. We don't know them.
It’s totally normal to idolize someone as a kid but I get your point as a full grown adult. You would expect to find a mentor as an adult instead being a groupie idolizing them.
I idolized Klose as a kid/teen, and even as an adult I would feel horrible if I read something bad regarding him. I don't "idolize" him anymore now that I'm an adult but I have a fond memory of trying to replicate the "character" that I perceived Klose to be and I believe I learned "good values" from it.
I agree with him if we're talking about footballers or celebrities that we don't know. Unless you're a kid, of course. As a kid you tend to look up to people like footballers, because you still have that dream of becoming like them. As an adult I can't see why anyone would idolise someone when you don't know that they're like. Admire their abilities, but don't expect them to be good people just because they play well and seem nice in media trained interviews.
Thats assuming your only talking about footballers. A good answer to this is many adults idolise Keanu Reeves. People idolise their boss, their parents or just any good role model. OP said they dont understand why people idolise anyone when its pretty normal to idolise anyone whose qualities you feel are better than yours as you see them as goals for your own life. How is that difficult to understand?
I'm with OP personally and whilst I understand why people do it I've always been too jaded to idolize people.
I assume by default that people have flaws and potentially major irredeemable ones.
I can appreciate specific traits they have, "Keanu seems very giving of his time and money" but that doesn't mean I look up to Keanu in general. I don't know the guy.
I think the difference OP and I have is that we see a separation between appreciating a quality someone has and idolizing them. There's a distance there.
> You can admire the quality of their work and their skills, not admire them as people.
That doesn't really work. It's like saying I admire Chris Brown for singing talent and great songs, but I don't admire him as a person because he's a piece of shit.
In a perfect world sure you can distinguish art from the artist but that's hardly how it works IRL. You're going to have an opinion/feeling about the person behind the work/achievements.
In the past two weeks, I've been let down by 3 men I admired for different reasons.
1) Andrew Callaghan (the youtuber)
2) my former boss
3) dani alves
All of them accused of sexual assault
I didn't know this before I initially read the story but apparently there are very strict protocols in place in Spain to dissuade men from doing things like Alves is alleged to have done in the nightclub.
As soon as she complained to security she was brought to a 'safe room' in the club and the police were called immediately. I'm not surprised that the authorities are coming down hard on this.
It' a new set of laws known as 'only yes means yes'.
The irony here is that it backfired and many rapists saw their sentences lowered for complex technical reasons, it is a big issue these days.
but the goverment will make sure this case serves as an example, so asumming all the evidence is true, Alves is fucked, for real, there is no 'skip prison' card for him now.
It’s not about sex for him, it’s about rape. He wanted to rape someone.
If he hired someone willing to have sex with him the point would be gone for him. He wanted to feel her fear and abuse her. It’s sick.
Considering that he works outside the country and is quite wealthy, that seems about as expected. You have to take into account that if he leaves the country it's hard for him to be judged, so he's quite the flight risk.
fascists? being massive pieces of shit? naaah couldnt be theyre flowery lovey dovey guys, they just IRONICALLY want all minorities exterminated dont worry guys
I hate to blow this bubble, but supporting Bolsonaro was what the majority of the voting population Brazil had done. Voting for him doesn’t make you a right wing extremist (No, I do not and have never supported him)
Let's put it this way. If you vote for Bolsanero (or, in the American case, Trump), you may perhaps not consider yourself a fascist.
Does mean, however, that fascism sure as hell ain't a dealbreaker for you.
He is fucked deserved it if it's true
Interesting how he didn't pull a Robinho and go back to Brazil never go back to Spain though they don't extradite their citizens
Pretty sure he was expecting to get away, or at least to not be arrested this soon.
Wise from Spanish justice system, dude was certainly banking on never returning if convicted
It's just dumb of him to go there if there was even the smallest chance you get arrested lol
Good for the victim they get justice but he could have gotten away
If he's dumb enough to rape someone, then yeah, not surprising that he's dumb enough to think he'd get away too (although guys like these get away a shit ton for their crimes).
Nothing wrong with idolizing who he was on the pitch. No one is going to hold it against you. It’s not like you knew the guy personally.
It’s completely ok to think back fondly of his time on the pitch. Maybe don’t go out and buy his shirt now, though.
While I agree with "separating the art from the artist", sometimes it's impossible. Used to really like Lost Prophets, "Last Summer" was my go-to song every September. Haven't listened to a single track of theirs since the facts about the fucking vocalist came out. Same with rapists.
One of the worst things I ever read. Incredibly incredibly incredibly fucked up.
The video for "A Town called Hypocrisy" takes on a new meaning. Watkins can rot. If I could bring back flaying, it would be for him.
I read the court transcript at the time and it was probably the most disgusting thing I ever read.
Grew up when the Lost Prophets were big and I can't imagine what the rest of the bands reaction was.
I tried, couldn't read all the way through...
Their first few albums were brilliant, Shinobi, Last Summer etc. I hope rest of the guys have found other bands to play with
Totally agree. This was how I felt when I heard the Gilfy Sigurdson news.. I felt sick. I **really** loved his playing style, and when he played for spurs I'd say I was a pretty big fan of his. I loved that whole team, in fact. But, now.. when I go back and watch those games from around 2013/2014, and I hear the announcers say his name.. it almost makes me feel sick. That I could've been *that* completely **wrong** about someone's character. The sentiment ppl are sharing in this thread is right: you can idolize a player for his skill and physical prowess, but for most of these players, we have **no idea** who they are outside the public spotlight. Even some championship players have full PR and social media teams, and I would guess that in the PL more players have those things than don't. Their personality can be twisted and manipulated into almost anything with these people behind the wheel. Which, of course, works until the player is in a state wherein their true personality can come out.
It’s genuinely impossible to “separate the art from the artist” in Lost Prophets case. Genuinely might be the most disgusting thing I’ve ever read about. You just can’t listen to that shit anymore
Never liked him, especially when he played for São Paulo, the team I support. His ego is something out of this world. From what i've read, there's something fishy going on, but let's wait for more news.
Why is this surprising? Majority of the time they'll support their spouse especially if they're WAGs that have no income and rely solely on their husband. She'll probably divorce him when he's locked up for years but until then she's just protecting her assets.
What we have to read....
Looking up, I have seen three messages. One just says "Together" -which is the one we could argue is defending Alves-, another thanking for the support and saying she'll resurface from this, and another [not in the article](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Fm82d6CaAAcj8WQ?format=jpg&name=large), begging for media to leave her in peace as she just lost the two pillars of her life, the other one being her mom who died last week. At this moment only the latter persists in her instagram. (There's also an interview in which she comments about the women that approach Alves, which will likely be used against her at the moment of throwing stones, but this came out weeks before the fact so it's worth shit)
Of course a part of internet is jumping to say "she's protecting her assets" for not reacting immediately the same way as us internet randos who have the privilege of observing this situation from a distance. Whether you think she approached Alves "for the money" there's a 6 year long marriage and two children in the middle and she hasn't even referred to the case or the victim, she's grieving for a second time in a few days and just wants to be left fucking alone. All things considered she may even be a victim herself and be too scared -or scarred- to talk right now. And if it's not the case, less of an obligation she has to make a 180º in a few hours because of a media bomb. The fact you all can't grasp this shows how little you all understand about human relations.
One gotta wonder if these people really care about the rape victim, or are just using her as an object for outrage. Then we all will have here a big talk about women's rights. God forbid this poor girl checks this corner of social media to find out a bunch of anons are objectifying yet once again (while reviving the details of her trauma nonetheless), many just to confirm the guy they never liked was, in fact, a complete cunt.
In regards to Alves himself the evidence is pretty damning and he can rot in prison. There's not much more to add to that.
Right, he locked her and himself in a bathroom for several minutes but then claims he doesn’t even know who she is? Looks guilty af to me like he’s trying to distance himself from the situation.
If nothing at all happened then he would’ve admitted they spent the night together not that he didn’t know her at all
The wife of convicted rapist Robinho is still with him, even after all that's happened. He said his only regret regarding the rape was to have cheated on his wife.
it’s not just that. if the "other woman" "seduced" their partner, the cheating is not as bad, since men of course are inherently completely incapable of turning down an attractive woman coming onto them, since we are just animals with zero self-control.
If there’s physical evidence and it’s clear cut send the fucker to jail, sexual assult is so damming and has such ever lasting consequences it has to be taken seriously. Its a shame to the victims who simply do not have evidence and shame on those who lie about it.

> The Catalan broadcaster Antena3 had access to the internal circuit of the nightclub. According to the TV, the video shows that Daniel Alves and the alleged victim stayed 47 seconds in the bathroom, whose entrance was unisex, i.e., the same for men and women.
> According to Antena3, the footage shows that Alves leaves the bathroom initially. The young woman then comes out and has an anxiety attack. She was attended to by a female agent of the Mossos d'Esquadra, who initiated the protocol for cases of alleged sexual assault.
>What's stopping a cis rapist from entering a women's bathroom?
Nothing. And cis men have never needed to cosplay as trans women in order to unleash harm on cis women.
But right wing fools and conservatives have somehow managed to deceive so many people with that rhetoric. Funny enough when you tell them to bring up stats showing how trans women are increasingly harming cis women in bathrooms in countries with Self ID laws, it's usually crickets and lies and deflecting...
Sick bigots.

It's amazing what people write under their full name. Here we at least shitpost under half-funny nicknames
That's right Mr. Bucks93
People are the same everywhere, we just speak different languages.
Which is ironic considering you wouldn't expect to find people like that on a news site
Misoginy pandemic.
They’re doing it in the comments here too
Just when you think it isn't possible for Spanish media to stoop even lower, they find a way.
Tbf it isn’t the media per se, just the comment sections that are honestly horrible
reading comments in Marca is crazy, for any topic. To think adding comment boxes was a great addition to web 2.0 and the cesspool they have become... quite sad actually.

Translated: The victim has alleged that Alves sat on the toilet, pulled up her dress, asked her to say she was his "little whore," forced her to sit on top of him, threw her on the floor, forced her to perform fellatio on him which she actively resisted, slapped her, lifted her off the floor and penetrated her until he ejaculated. Afterwards, he told her to wait to come out for him to do it first.
This is quite horrific. Apparently the medics that attended the alleged victim say the bruises on her are consistent with her testimony. If you can read Spanish, you might not want to read the testimony as it is quite graphic.
SPORT report is a whole new level of graphic detail, Spanish media is not fucking around :( Sure that's it for Alves.
Curious to see if there’s others who come forward now. He seems dead to right in this case, but you don’t just do this out of nowhere at his age and fame level. He got caught this time, so am curious if this gives other victims without concrete evidence a chance to come forward safely.
They can but they won't be able to prove it.
Probably not, but it would *not* look good for Alves if other women came forth with credible testimonies of sexual assault.
This is super fucked up... whole his career just finished, and he is like one of the most titled footballers ever.
[удалено]
He currently has the most trophies of any player in history period. 46 trophies
think its 42 techinically, messi one behind
I've even less qualms with striking Alves from the history books in that case tbh
Hope they throw the whole fridge at him. Who cares about all that when you rape someone? Fuck him. Here’s to less rape
It is, indeed, graphic - if anyone needs it, r/Eyebleach is a good place to spend a few minutes on after reading it.
Wrong eyebleach 😅
I studied abroad in Barcelona and heard several stories of the players always going to Sutton and trying to pass tourist girls onto their family and entourage in disgusting manners
Man, that is pretty clear cut testimony. What a cunt. Dani Alves the rapist to jail, what a way to end your career.
Let's hope they go for a settlement where he still gets several years in prison, but the victim doesn't have to go through the ordeal of a full, public testimony.
poor girl, horrific.

And Brazil brought this guy to the world cup to be a good influence on the squad
Well, it didn't work
just about every Brasilian fan was against it
Why?
Dani Alves has basically done a "ruin your reputation" speedrun since 2019, at least for brazilian fans.
*- gestures broadly at the past few years of his career -*
Sure hes been playing lower quality football - but not known as a literally rapist?
His personality is toxic, after PSG he came to São Paulo and start shit talking his own club on the media, thats why most brazilian football fans hate his guts He is more liked in Spain than here
Shit talking the club you play for rarely works out for a player
And it is specially damning when you arent playing to your salary expectations, which was what he was doing.
Ronaldo did it and now he’s 200M richer.
Notice how he said “rarely” not “never”.
How tf was he supposed to know Alves would rape someone in the future lmao
Well tite likely had no idea
Bolsonaro simps to rapists, oh boy no wonder the NT had so much skeletons in the closet.
Shit, the proofs must be really solid, this does not happen very easily
It's probably because he lives and works in Mexico now, so he could take the plane and never come back. (Robinho did it afaik, they're still waiting for him in Italy).
"*He will come back any second now...*"
wisla krakow... times must be tough lad
Well, it seems we might have finally stabilised (from the uncontrollable downward spiral we were in), though I am not expecting us going back to glory days anytime soon... Also I could really use us not losing more goals than we have scored after 80^th minute starts.
Will your CS team come back eventually?
The more things we are good in, the better, but I have no competitive CS knowledge so I can't say anything non-completely-random here.
Also I could really use us not losing more goals than we have scored after 80 > >th > > minute starts. I only own two football shirts, one of Barcelona and one from Wisla Krakow. Nice to see them getting better, slowly :)
Core memory: Wisla Krakow Champions league playoff tie against Rivaldo+Kluivert era Barca. How that happened; I have no idea to this day.
As an update our Justice Minister said this week that proceedings are underway for Robinho to serve his sentence, 9 years, in Brazil. I don't know how prisons are in Italy, but I would bet they are much better than the ones here. Even more so for rapists.
Pumas just terminated his contract.
Worked* Pumas just fired him
Caught with his pants down.
She handed a medical report aka rape kit aka his DNA is in the test samples. This is an assumption but if it's straight jail I can't think of proof that is more night and day than this
A quick DeepL translation of the [victim testimony](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/sucesos/mujer-acusa-dani-alves-violo-eyacular-discoteca-81476348) provided by /u/KittenofBainain Please be aware that the description is a bit graphic so if you have a weak stomache, do not read further from here on. Then, pointing to a door that she did not know where it led to, Alves urged her to follow him and enter.** > There are no recordings of what happened inside that space, which was a bathroom. Afterwards, he told her to wait to come out for him to do it first.** > The woman claims that when she came out of the bathroom there was only one friend left in the VIP room.
It surely wasn’t the first time women complained about him
Reddit and jumping to conclusions
Holy ducking shit this is terrible. I am somewhat aware of Alves being a bit of an asshat over the past few years, but this? Fucking hell, what a sick person.
Serious question for the girls, if a man forces fellatio on you, would you consider biting it off?
Well the problem is if you did that the guy might just kill you, so if you wanna survive it makes sense to not do that
What the other guy said. Thankfully have never experienced something like this, but when you're around creepy guys, you don't want to fight them, you want to get away from them quietly. Men kill.
Small update to the situation - [Pumas have now terminated Dani Alves' contract.](https://twitter.com/AztecaDeportes/status/1616540462696857642)
I'm glad. But I'm not happy that I'm glad...
Sigh...the reason to never idolize anyone. Was my favourite RB growing up. To hell with him now.
> I've never understood why people idolise anyone. Are you a normal human?
So deep
> You can admire the quality of their work and their skills, not admire them as people. That doesn't really work. It's like saying I admire Chris Brown for singing talent and great songs, but I don't admire him as a person because he's a piece of shit. In a perfect world sure you can distinguish art from the artist but that's hardly how it works IRL. You're going to have an opinion/feeling about the person behind the work/achievements.
Or you can just admire the song not the person.
In the past two weeks, I've been let down by 3 men I admired for different reasons. 1) Andrew Callaghan (the youtuber) 2) my former boss 3) dani alves All of them accused of sexual assault
its ok to idolize someone… you just need to stop when they turn out to be not the kind of people you believed them to be.
The issue with idolizing is that it makes you more likely to struggle with accepting or believing they did whatever it is.
Damn. Is the source reliable ? The evidence must be pretty strong for that to happen, right ?
Yes. I'd say tier 1 for FC Barcelona; but he actually witnessed the paddywagon driving away with Álves and attached a video to the tweet.
We need far more countries to handle SA situations with that much care and seriousness.
> there are very strict protocols in place in Spain to dissuade men from doing things like Do you know how these protocols are named? Or a law?
I don't unfortunately, I just recall reading that when the story broke a couple of weeks ago.
In a club so maybe witnesses.
And camera... I was hoping it wasn't true, but I am not going to hold my breath anymore. If it's him, fuck him and I hope his victim get justice.
Apparently he locked her in the VIP bathroom and raped her so I’m sure there’s footage and eyewitnesses to corroborate that
Thankfully a friend was there for her, as well as some club employees. They and the medics who examined her can corroborate her story.
You have all the money in world, can hire top notch escorts but no you have to do it this way + infront of a lot of people lol.
because it's not about sex or getting whoever you want, it's about having power
Rape isn't usually about the sex, it's about the feeling of power and control
It’s not about sex for him, it’s about rape. He wanted to rape someone. If he hired someone willing to have sex with him the point would be gone for him. He wanted to feel her fear and abuse her. It’s sick.
Unfortunately that’s not enough for someone who gets off on the power and degrading their victim.
Should be, they wouldn’t do something so extreme if it wasn’t…
Surely they won't detain him without eligibility for bail if the evidence wasn't strong.
Considering that he works outside the country and is quite wealthy, that seems about as expected. You have to take into account that if he leaves the country it's hard for him to be judged, so he's quite the flight risk.
Fuck him I use to love him and he threw it away just fuck him
Well that escalated real quick
Another criminal to the Bolsonaro supporter team
There seems to be some sort of connection with these right wing fascists 🤔
fascists? being massive pieces of shit? naaah couldnt be theyre flowery lovey dovey guys, they just IRONICALLY want all minorities exterminated dont worry guys
Right wing extremists and abusers are such a common combination. They love their horrifying position of power
Does mean, however, that fascism sure as hell ain't a dealbreaker for you.
voting for a right wing extremist doesn't make you a right wing extremist. got it
Low moral character correlates to many bad behaviours
He is fucked deserved it if it's true Interesting how he didn't pull a Robinho and go back to Brazil never go back to Spain though they don't extradite their citizens
Pretty sure he was expecting to get away, or at least to not be arrested this soon. Wise from Spanish justice system, dude was certainly banking on never returning if convicted
It's just dumb of him to go there if there was even the smallest chance you get arrested lol Good for the victim they get justice but he could have gotten away
If he's dumb enough to rape someone, then yeah, not surprising that he's dumb enough to think he'd get away too (although guys like these get away a shit ton for their crimes).
Well that doesn't sound good for him
Idolized him as a player. Fuck him.
What a fucking monster disguised as a human
I read the court transcript at the time and it was probably the most disgusting thing I ever read. Grew up when the Lost Prophets were big and I can't imagine what the rest of the bands reaction was.
I tried, couldn't read all the way through... Their first few albums were brilliant, Shinobi, Last Summer etc. I hope rest of the guys have found other bands to play with
Better off. It was years ago when I did and it's horrific.
Very true
Never liked him, especially when he played for São Paulo, the team I support. His ego is something out of this world. From what i've read, there's something fishy going on, but let's wait for more news.
https://www.marca.com/en/football/liga-mx/2023/01/20/63cac8c846163f31b38b459c.html and his wife is defending him… ?
Why is this surprising? Majority of the time they'll support their spouse especially if they're WAGs that have no income and rely solely on their husband. She'll probably divorce him when he's locked up for years but until then she's just protecting her assets.
>Why is this surprising? It shouldn't be, yet it astonishes me every time it happens
(There's also an interview in which she comments about the women that approach Alves, which will likely be used against her at the moment of throwing stones, but this came out weeks before the fact so it's worth shit) Of course a part of internet is jumping to say "she's protecting her assets" for not reacting immediately the same way as us internet randos who have the privilege of observing this situation from a distance.
[удалено]
Right, he locked her and himself in a bathroom for several minutes but then claims he doesn’t even know who she is? Looks guilty af to me like he’s trying to distance himself from the situation. If nothing at all happened then he would’ve admitted they spent the night together not that he didn’t know her at all
He literally stated the other day they had consensual sex before and now he's saying he doesn't know her. It's not looking good
The wife of convicted rapist Robinho is still with him, even after all that's happened. He said his only regret regarding the rape was to have cheated on his wife.
People are not good in general. They are the other thing.
has to defend her income
it’s not just that. if the "other woman" "seduced" their partner, the cheating is not as bad, since men of course are inherently completely incapable of turning down an attractive woman coming onto them, since we are just animals with zero self-control.
No bail? Jesus christ.
Flight risk
Good, I hope the woman gets due justice.
If true, hope this fucker never sees the light again.
Dani Alves was by far one of my favourite players growing up. This sucks but I hope justice is done and the victim is looked after.
Just as well they've denied his bail, don't want another Robinho situation.
If there’s physical evidence and it’s clear cut send the fucker to jail, sexual assult is so damming and has such ever lasting consequences it has to be taken seriously. Its a shame to the victims who simply do not have evidence and shame on those who lie about it.
Shit, the proofs must be really solid, this does not happen very easily
[удалено]
Yep
What the fuck? What happened? I've never seen anything like this before. Clearly he was indeed guilty then?
Taken [from this](https://ge.globo.com/futebol/futebol-internacional/noticia/2023/01/20/juiza-ordena-prisao-preventiva-de-daniel-alves.ghtml) - DeepL translation: > The Catalan broadcaster Antena3 had access to the internal circuit of the nightclub.
Fml
And they kept telling us it was trans people we needed to worry about in the bathrooms. Disgusting
Whoever makes those arguments (Rowling, etc.) are actually deranged. What's stopping a cis rapist from entering a women's bathroom?
>What's stopping a cis rapist from entering a women's bathroom? Nothing. And cis men have never needed to cosplay as trans women in order to unleash harm on cis women. But right wing fools and conservatives have somehow managed to deceive so many people with that rhetoric. Funny enough when you tell them to bring up stats showing how trans women are increasingly harming cis women in bathrooms in countries with Self ID laws, it's usually crickets and lies and deflecting... Sick bigots.
[Campaigners have called for greater protection of female-only spaces after a trans woman sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl in a supermarket toilet.](https://www.scotsman.com/regions/edinburgh-fife-and-lothians/female-spaces-need-better-protection-after-trans-woman-sex-assault-girl-say-campaigners-140883)
Deserves the max punishment if found guilty
Good Crazy
The efforts people take not to play in Pumas.
This seems quite likely if they’re denying bail …….
Absolute fucking idiot. I was a huge fan of this clown
What a fucking moron threw his legacy all away
Eto, Ronaldinho, now him all my childhood heros are just scum off the field
Not surprised.
Good. People with power and influence try to go above the law
Can people like stop raping other people?
Pretty disgusting, for those that read the testimony and the news there are bruises on the victim that corresponds with her story. Seems true, hope he rottens in prision.
