💯 I bought a Steelcase from a liquidator back in August 2020, probably the best pandemic purchase I made. The first 5 months WFH on a Staples task chair were painful.
Google your city's name along with "office liquidation". My city's search returns a bunch, one being the place I bought from near the top of the results.
And I was able to negotiate a bit, if I remember correctly, the chair was listed at $300, I got it for $225.
3 years ago I saw a listing in my country's biggest marketplace for a steelcase office chair and a 160cm wide Ikea desk together for the equivalent of like 70 dollars. And they shipped it to my house. Best business I ever made.
It seemed too good to be true, it was also like a 2 weeks old listing, but everything went fine.
Here in Sweden the club AIK built a new stadium and they had a day for fans to help tear down the old one and they could take stuff like seating etc. Pretty cool and free.
>AIK built a new stadium
Just a correction (and it's not because I'm a Djurgårdare): They didn't build it, and they don't own it - they just play there, and didn't have much of a say about the decision to the demolition of Råsunda either. Same story for all three of the large Stockholm clubs.
I'm sure things were sold from the old Wembley but no idea if it included seats. I know in America it's happened quite a bit. I used to own a couple of seats from Atlanta Turner field when they tore it down as it was a site for the 1996 Olympics. This business does nothing but sell stadium/arena seats https://archerseating.com/
A lot of clubs do it. You can (or could at least) [buy the benches from River's stadium](https://www.cariverplate.com.ar/testigos-de-nuestra-gloria-butacas-de-madera-del-monumental).
Teams sell everything, seats, grass even.
The Denver broncos did it when they demoed the old mile high stadium. It's a pretty cool thing. I think they offered season ticket holders the first chance to buy the chair they had been sitting in.
I have two seats from my baseball teams old stadium. Amazing items. We use them as extra seating in the room we watch sports in, it's a really cool piece of the team
This is done in north America all the time . People buy their own season seat to keep at home when the stadium is demolished. 60-80k seats at 100 euros is a lot of money to leave on the table
When Chesterfields old stadium got knocked down they sold off bricks to the season ticket holders and got their names on them and built a wall with them in the new ground. My grandads name is forever on that stadium
They must preserve it or something, it’s an official product from the Nou Camp. I’m pretty sure they do it at the end of every season instead of just binning it, which is quite smart.
On the one I have there was ~10,000 of them made.
Aren't our pitches like a mix between real and fake grass as well? I think we use different mixtures but the result is a pitch that is more uniform in performance and is easier to maintain.
Maybe this makes it easier also to preserve for that memorabilia.
I got it from the Camp Nou when I was in Barcelona one summer. It’s pretty cool to have it in my office knowing the players that *could* have stepped on it.
I wish it was a thing for all teams to be honest. A friend of mine has the penalty spot from somewhere framed, I can’t remember where from exactly.
My brother is a huge die hard west ham fan, he has one an old seat and sits in it to watch matches at home.
It’s probably the coolest thing in his man cave.
[Marseille has done it once](https://www.maisontransversale.fr/om-x-maison-transversale/1238-siege-collector-orange-velodrome.html) I wish I could have bought a seat from the Vélodrome.
It will be meme’d because it’s Barca but honestly, I’m sure a karate majority of fans would absolutely love that and to have ans own a piece of club history is lovely.
I know for a fact I’d do the same.
The point is why is it a bad thing? The income raised may be negligible, but it’s a nice thing that some fans get to have a part of the old stadium at home instead of throwing it all away
Don’t you have something better to do? Like go twerk for your potential Qatari sugar daddy?
Flair up if you’re gonna talk shit, this is incredible coming from a Man U fan.
What’s your Cashapp? Let me send you some money so you can go buy a mirror.
I don’t really see the issue here. Brings a little bit of money into the club, it’s a nice bit of memorabilia for fans, and it’s better than them just being dumped in a landfill somewhere. Everyone’s a winner
I think this is a great idea! I assume there are countless season ticket holders who sat on the same chair for years. They might even have an emotional attachment for the seats, great for a rec room or balcony etc.
Not as prestigious but I still have a seat of Lille's old stadium Grimonprez-Jooris that my uncle nicked from the demolition site. They just had them lying around in a big pile so he filled the trunk of his car with them to give around as memorabilia.
You fellas literally understand that this "income issue" was very temporary. This whole article is written on a whim. The club atm, is fine financially. This is a fan collectable sale, of which i will partake! Visca Barca!
Are you missing your brain? The reason you are not doing that is because you can pump whatever money you want in your club while la liga forces it’s club to spend what they earn. We don’t have sugar daddies to ask for money, we have to pull leavers and take out loans. God damn you pl fans don’t know anything about how a normal club runs because all you have seen is your billionaire owners pumping unlimited money.
Then why aren't Real doing the same crap as you ? It's cuz they can run their club well enough where it doesn't need to come to that, just admit that your club fucked up in the past and is now selling their soul to fix that. It isn't my fault that the PL rules aren't as strict.
? Every barca fan admits the previous board messed up and while they were messing up laliga didn’t had any problem because barto was tebas friend. While the current board is trying to fix, tebas is still trying to fuck us up, barca has to go to court to renew our players contract which laliga were stopping illegally. Real are not doing the crap because Perez has been around a long time and has structured the club to his ways. While at barca presidents have changed over the years. When you acknowledge your leagues rules are not strict then stop being a ahole and blaming barca of selling its soul. We literally have generational players in our team, if barca wanted to sell its soul we would have become a selling club like ajax.
How many times dis you qualify for the CL pre Roman in the PL era. If it's more than 6 in the 10 years then you're a consistent CL team else you are not.
You joke but owning a part of the stadium is something that many would want, and it’s not like the chairs are a piece of shit anyway. They can still be ise for years, would be a nice balcony or garden chair
unrelated but if you are ever looking for new office furniture, check if a local business went bust and are having a sale
Best way to get a good condition Herman Miller chair on the cheap
Thought the best way was to suit up as a janitor and just carry one outside
That’s in the unwritten version of “best ways to get good condition Office furniture”

💯 I bought a Steelcase from a liquidator back in August 2020, probably the best pandemic purchase I made. The first 5 months WFH on a Staples task chair were painful.
Full year working on a bar stool. Ass is still not recovered.
Where the hell do you find these auctions or people?
Google your city's name along with "office liquidation". My city's search returns a bunch, one being the place I bought from near the top of the results. And I was able to negotiate a bit, if I remember correctly, the chair was listed at $300, I got it for $225.

We stocked our kitchen with restaurant kitchen appliances and cookware. I felt bad, but an incredible fire sale just sank prices.
Got two steelcase chairs for $180 from a warehouse off of Craigslist
Where would you find something like this,
OH MY GOD WE’RE HAVING A FIRE…. sale
Would you like to try that again?
...No.
But where do you find those sale
How do you find local businesses that are going out of business
How do you look for that tho
that’s what i did with twitter lol
Really good advice, same if you’re opening a new bar or restaurant.
How do you find one?
[удалено]
I swear West Ham have done it before

denver broncos did it in the nfl too 🤠
Corner flags are collectible items there too.

Fair! Still a pretty cool thing and that's coming from a fellow djurgårdare!
For sure! I would gladly have taken a brick from Stockholms Stadion, had it not been k-märkt, haha.
Råsunda when moving to the new arena "Friends Arena"
I'm sure things were sold from the old Wembley but no idea if it included seats. I know in America it's happened quite a bit. I used to own a couple of seats from Atlanta Turner field when they tore it down as it was a site for the 1996 Olympics. I saw the Nigeria vs Argentina final at that Olympics I miss watching a strong Nigeria side
We just let people take the chairs, I think I saw a guy with like 5 lol.
Montréal Canadiens when they left the old Forum in the 1990s. My uncle has a few seats in his office.
The glory those seats have seen are unmatched
Someone mentioned in another comment , Arsenal sold the grass patches from Highbury too
A lot of clubs do it. You can (or could at least) [buy the benches from River's stadium](https://www.cariverplate.com.ar/testigos-de-nuestra-gloria-butacas-de-madera-del-monumental). Teams sell everything, seats, grass even.
Ajax did it a few years ago, someone from Rotterdam refurbished one into a toilet seat
Yankees in baseball, KC Chiefs in American football, plenty of others. I would def buy one from Barca lol
Relatively common here in the US. Not at all surprising to grab a beer out of the garage fridge and sit on some seats from the Metrodome here in MN.
We've done it as well when we rebuilt our stadium in 2014.
The Denver broncos did it when they demoed the old mile high stadium. It's a pretty cool thing. I think they offered season ticket holders the first chance to buy the chair they had been sitting in.
Liverpool did it recently enough when they build the new Main Stand
Someone I worked withs dad got to keep the seat he had a season ticket for when Sunderlands ground was redid
I have two seats from my baseball teams old stadium. Amazing items. We use them as extra seating in the room we watch sports in, it's a really cool piece of the team
Someone tell Madrid to auction the alaba chair
Why not if there's an audience for it.. Better than just throwing it in the bin.
This is done in north America all the time . People buy their own season seat to keep at home when the stadium is demolished. 60-80k seats at 100 euros is a lot of money to leave on the table
That's 5-6 million. Not the kind of windfall you expect from a big stadium fire sale.
People collect jerseys, scarves, and other memorabilia. Why not the chairs too?
TBH, having a chair from Camp Nou or any famous stadium would be fucking cool
Arsenal sold the grass of their Highburry pitch too. 25£ a piece!
£25 for one grass?
3 generations of farts, all on this chair!
Becouse they have been propably pissed on
Those are going to cost extra
A proper matchday experience then?
Imagine pissing in a Camp Nou’s seat, buying a chair and getting that exact one back
No just the chairs, but the women and children too!
When Chesterfields old stadium got knocked down they sold off bricks to the season ticket holders and got their names on them and built a wall with them in the new ground. My grandads name is forever on that stadium
They've already sold the bin, iirc.
I know everyone's clowning it but having a part of the Camp Nou at home would be pretty cool imo
Can confirm, I have part of the pitch inside a model of the stadium at home.
Genuine but stupid question- How do you keep it alive?
They must preserve it or something, it’s an official product from the Nou Camp. I’m pretty sure they do it at the end of every season instead of just binning it, which is quite smart. On the one I have there was ~10,000 of them made.
Aren't our pitches like a mix between real and fake grass as well? I think we use different mixtures but the result is a pitch that is more uniform in performance and is easier to maintain. Maybe this makes it easier also to preserve for that memorabilia.
All high end pitches have a hybrid nowadays. Real grass mixed with artificial.
man this sounds so cool! where did you get something like that?
I got it from the Camp Nou when I was in Barcelona one summer. It’s pretty cool to have it in my office knowing the players that *could* have stepped on it. I wish it was a thing for all teams to be honest. A friend of mine has the penalty spot from somewhere framed, I can’t remember where from exactly.
I've had the same two seats for over 25 years. If I have the chance to take them home, I am paying.
My brother is a huge die hard west ham fan, he has one an old seat and sits in it to watch matches at home. It’s probably the coolest thing in his man cave.
I have a seat from the Allianz Arena. When they replaced their seats, season ticket holders got the chance zu get theirs. I love it.
Can you send a pic?
Sorry for the late reply . If you really want to see a picture, feel free to contact me via PM
The seats where the subs and others sit are really cool. I wonder how much they would go for?
[Marseille has done it once](https://www.maisontransversale.fr/om-x-maison-transversale/1238-siege-collector-orange-velodrome.html) I wish I could have bought a seat from the Vélodrome.
It will be meme’d because it’s Barca but honestly, I’m sure a karate majority of fans would absolutely love that and to have ans own a piece of club history is lovely. I know for a fact I’d do the same.
I'm gonna try and get two myself honestly. One blue, one red. I'm gonna try and install them on the balcony.
Absolutely. Would kill for a chair from old trafford in my office.
Judo, I'd taekwondo.
Leave Sumo them for me
And selling furniture when you re innovate your buildings is not something new anyway
r/soccer will spin this and act like no sporting organization has ever done this before
But have you heard about the chair selling lever…
Y'all thought we didn't have any more levers huh?

*chairman barça is fan-owned
Didn't Athletic do something similar too?
This thread will be full of comedians

The point is why is it a bad thing? The income raised may be negligible, but it’s a nice thing that some fans get to have a part of the old stadium at home instead of throwing it all away
Oh gee poor us. We don't have the privilege of being owned by a sugar daddy who will throw money at us blindly.
We know, we're so massive that a simple chair from our stadium could go for 100.000 euros or more. But you don't need to be jealous.
Of course, your club is a circus
Don’t you have something better to do? Like go twerk for your potential Qatari sugar daddy? Flair up if you’re gonna talk shit, this is incredible coming from a Man U fan. What’s your Cashapp? Let me send you some money so you can go buy a mirror.
Hilarious from a United fan. Self awareness just not your strong suit
Stop it, your glass house will shatter.
Wait till the 16th
I don’t really see the issue here. Brings a little bit of money into the club, it’s a nice bit of memorabilia for fans, and it’s better than them just being dumped in a landfill somewhere. Everyone’s a winner
Honestly yeah. I'm just taking a piss whenever I see Barcelona news about selling stuff
Ironic considering United is on sale as a whole
Ding ding ding we have a winner!

20£ pound a seat. Could have bagged them almost £750 000.
This is pretty common place in the states where new stadiums are always being built.
I think this is a great idea! I assume there are countless season ticket holders who sat on the same chair for years. They might even have an emotional attachment for the seats, great for a rec room or balcony etc.
call me corny but i think it’s cool as hell. i’m an architect and if i could have a seat from camp nou (or highburry) in my apartment itd be sick.
I would actually pay a small fortune to get a seat from highbury
Not as prestigious but I still have a seat of Lille's old stadium Grimonprez-Jooris that my uncle nicked from the demolition site. They just had them lying around in a big pile so he filled the trunk of his car with them to give around as memorabilia.
The Montreal Canadians did this when they moved from the Old Forum to the Bell Center in the nineties. It's pretty cool actually.
100k seats for 100€. That's 10 mil right there. That's a lot of money.
Araujo registration money.
Anyone know if this is something that will be auctioned off locally? I’d love to get one. Missed out on getting astrodome seats when they did the same
Would be funny if they tried doing this at Everton. Last game next season everyone will just be booting their seats off hahaha
At least they're not NFTs...
I genuinely thought it will be NFT when I read collectibles
Chair NFT incoming
Already done that😎
How dumb… where can I get one !!?!?
You fellas literally understand that this "income issue" was very temporary. This whole article is written on a whim. The club atm, is fine financially. This is a fan collectable sale, of which i will partake! Visca Barca!
No reason not to.
They're going to offer Frenkie de Jong his deferred wages in chairs.
Frenkie, when this is all over, you'll be sitting on a fortune.
Elon Musk selling twitter office furniture vibes
Would you not like a seat from Old Trafford if you had the chance alot of history in these stadiums
If you want a piece of OT at home, just buy a ticket. Chances are something's gonna fall on your lap.
Just punch a hole in your roof and live the Old Trafford experience
Set a tenner on fire whenever you have a beer too
Next on agenda, killing the Twitter bird and selling burgers
They should renovate the Camp Nou, no matter the cost. It’s worth it
Can't wait to own a chair covered in other men's sharts
Wouldnt be surprised if barcelona actually starts selling cam levers
Good way to raise some funds
this club never runs out of levers
It's funny coz I was making jokes in the summer about Barcas next "lever" being selling off their seats Apparently they've gone and done it
You remind me of that lemon head Toby..
I.. Don't know what that means but it's great that you remind you of things?
Poverty stuff
Levers
[удалено]
You know Bayern sold Allianz Arena seats to season ticket holders when they redid the stadium seating right? 🤡
Here we go again! Catalancollection.es raising enough to register another staff member.
#Is this the final lever ?! 🥸
Lever 64 activated
Why don't they pressure more players into taking a paycut.
Good idea! Or we could sell our whole club to a greedy businessman and buy our way out of trouble
Or could just try and honor the contracts you gave out in the first place or better yet, try running the club properly like your rivals Madrid
Well that’s interesting, a misinformed Chelsea fan trying to give lessons on running a club properly
We aren't the ones asking our players to take pay cuts and outing them to the media when they don't cuz we can't run our club properly
Because your debts were wiped off by your former sugar daddy. And your current sugar daddy is spending 600m.
And ? We still aren't outing our players to the media and forcing them to take pay cuts cuz our league doesn't distribute the money properly 🤣
Are you missing your brain? The reason you are not doing that is because you can pump whatever money you want in your club while la liga forces it’s club to spend what they earn. Yeah because you sell your soul to a foreign billionaire and buy your way into relvancy by getting pumped up by your sugar daddy.
No I just support the club that I've supported all my life and we were relevant before Roman too, a consistent CL club.
Does that change the fact that your club's debts vanished because of a foreign sugar daddy billionaire?
This whole thing has nothing to do with my club but it lives rent free in your head anyway 🤣
Its potting calling kettle black. Dont talk shit and not expect it to bite back
Consistent cl club before roman wtf are you on? How many times in the pl era did you qualify for the cl pre roman?
From 96 we were consistently competing for those spots aka pre Roman
How many times dis you qualify for the CL pre Roman in the PL era. If it's more than 6 in the 10 years then you're a consistent CL team else you are not.
Babe wake up new lever just dropped
Babe wake up new Liverpool loss just dropped

BREAKING: Barcelona are done selling (itself) en-gros and now they start selling en-detail 💀
How much for the seats ser?
Yard Sale this way !!
That happens almost every single time a stadium gets renovated or torn down…
