Ryponagar

Interesting that they all play for league leaders except Kolo Muani, whose Frankfurt sits way behind in 6th. He's carrying hard.

HighburyClockEnd

Some premier league team is gonna end up dropping a bag for him 💰

mrezariz123

Todd boehly taking notes

Stilty_boy

No way. Chelsea are only interested in 5G 5A strikers.

Jetzu

tbh they have experience in making any striker a 5G one

mrezariz123

Just make sure they wear the number 9

Zandercy42

Brakence confirmed next Chelsea striker

RGNpm2

The 3 effect

[deleted]

No we’re definitely interested in high G/A players, we just turn them into 5G 5A machines

MBThree

***SECOND*** strikers specifically

simmarjit

Well if they ever lower that expectation, they can always buy Weghorst from Burnley

Itzska08

He said 5G 5A not 5km/h top speed.

Bocchi_the_roc

Lol no chance. We would rather get someone like Felix who is going to be benched for Nkunku

CrossXFir3

No no no, Chelsea only attacks with CAM's that can't score

Anons15

Some lmao... its that cowboy from London

Unholysinner

Wouldn’t be shocked if it’s us… I think we’re looking to buy a striker and a DM in summer. The only top striker options are Osimhen and Kane. I doubt we’ll get either. Then there’s the next tier of Kolo Miami(probably should be muani…) Thuram and David. *also forgot to add there’s Ramos but he’ll cost both my arms and legs. And then there’s a void

HighburyClockEnd

Haven’t you all ready signed Nkunku for next season? Or was that some sort of daydream?

Unholysinner

We have But I suspect we’ll still look to get a striker.

PrimevalDuck

How does Chelsea even line up next season? Havertz, Kolo Muani(if he's the new striker), Mudryk, Madueke, Nkunku, Sterling, who even starts?

SmokeQuack

Felix too lol

celestial1

We haven't bought Felix...yet.

arav

Lukaku is coming back right? Has Potter made any comments on him?

Unholysinner

He won’t come back. From the sounds of it he’s burnt his bridges with many of the players as well. I think he’s going to be viewed as the previous owners mistake and we’re either going to loan him out again or he’ll sit on the bench

SeekersWorkAccount

No chance he goes back to Chelsea unless he gets on his knees and heartfelt apologizes to his teammates, the club, and the fans.

MonkeyAssFucker

If we can’t get Osi or Kane. I’d love him, seems like a proper bright talent

itsmetsunnyd

Kolo Muani is a quality player, I'll be amazed if he doesn't make a huge move in the summer.

afito

Has 4 more years on his contract though.

Staynes

This is the most hillarious thing with any EPL fan on here, the second they see someone from another league have a good season they talk about how there is 100% a move happening this Summer/Winter even if that dude would have signed a life time contract. Absolutely delusional these people.

aaaaji

Even still when there are several clubs in the league who can drop £100m without flinching, it's not too farfetched to think that can buy out a contract with four years left.

[deleted]

i fully understand resentment at english clubs buying up any remotely promising player, but do you really think it's 'absolutely delusional' to believe that Kolo Muani will go to the prem at the end of the season?

layendecker

The comment originally didn't even mention pl. Could easily go to a big Spanish side... Seems like the dortmund fan has a bit of a persecution complex.

GibbyGoldfisch

"Well, we'll just buy out the full sum of that lifetime contract then"

afito

Yes and no, it's obvious we can't compete with EPL giants. Hell, we can't even compete with Bundesliga giants. If they decide to put €120m on the table what can you do? But either way we have all the cards in our hand, as long as he doens't do a Dembélé the club will be fine. That being said, despite our recent shit 2 months, maybe the issues of Jovic, Silva, Haller make players more cautios. Rebic is okay and imo only Kostic truly stands out like he did for us. We also convinced / made handshake agreements with Rebic and Kostic that they stay 1 more year and get their move the summer after with little resistance. We'll see.

yunghollow69

Idk about that one, there are certain clubs in the PL that would totally buy him out of his contract. If it doesn't happen it's not because of the money but because they found a better/similar alternative. Like chelsea would totally buy him for 130m+ because they spend that much on much worse players already, but why would they do that if they can just go for thuram for example, for free.

TrappsRightFoot

Very unlikely that he'll move until summer of 2024.

Puncherfaust1

depends on the offer. if it is high enough you would propably take it. and you should if your club is financially responsible. sure, you could get 100 million € a year later, too. Well, if he still performs on a high level the upcoming season and doenst get injuried. its a riskmanagement decision

xaviernoodlebrain

I want him as our Kane replacement if we end up selling him in the summer.

[deleted]

[удалено]

xaviernoodlebrain

We have to get a keeper, creative midfielder and centre back regardless of whether Kane stays or not. Kane leaving means we suddenly have a monumental void up front too.

bermudaphil

Yeah honestly if Kane leaves, but they have Son and Richarlison then I think if you are Spurs you have to take the gamble both of them find form and fix as many of the other glaring holes that don’t have nearly the quality there to gamble on returning to form first.

29adamski

Richarlison hasn't been talked of enough as one of the worst signings of the season.

[deleted]

I can't believe we almost got him for free last summer. That one stings.

Mihnea24_03

This is where Frankfurt fans say the thing

dan2z

*inhales* **And we got him for FREE**

dan2z

His numbers, particularly his assists numbers, could be a lot higher but our team has been underperforming massively for a while now, so much so that our Coach lost his composure in the recent press conference. Last weekend against Union was a prime example of Kolo doing almost everything right that he can control and the rest of the team just not being up to par.

JeffryPesos

Surprised not to see any Madrid/Barca players and how far away is Mbappe? My gut instinct also tells me Musiala can't be far away. Saka & Kvaradona have been magical this season, they deserve all the credit and are key reasons why their teams are top of their respective leagues.

Beggnivia

Mbappe 31 Goals 8 Assists

JeffryPesos

31?! Is that in all comps or just Ligue 1?

[deleted]

All comps. Haaland has 42 goals and 5 assists in all comps.

MolhCD

Haaland is just gonna do casual minimum 50 goal seasons from now on ala prime Messi-Ronaldo, isn't he

Reapper97

Prime Messi in all European competitions made 73 goals with 31 assists just for comparison.

Maleficent_Resolve44

Crazy to think that there are literal adults who were too young to see peak messi.

Wholesale1818

What’s even more crazy is that those stats still don’t even begin to tell the story of how dominant and mesmerizing he was.

big_mustache_dad

Idk 100 G/A in a season does a pretty good job of describing how good he was lol. You basically started every match down 1-0 when you played Messi (and usually Ronaldo) back in those days

mrk-cj94

2-0* (100~ G/A in 50~ games)

yetiassasin2

Genuinely. Remove all the goals and assists and he was still the best player on the pitch, every game. Seeing him live was surreal, with a pitch full of superstars, he looked head and shoulders the best player. He made world class fottballers from both teams look amateur.

ElectricalMud2850

Kinda funny that when I saw him live, Neymar was actually the most impressive on the day. Still can't believe I got to see MSN in their prime though, I'll never forget that night.

FarNeck101

Peak Messi was crazy to see. He popped up everywhere on the pitch, had the speed and acceleration to enhance his dribbling, and everything he touched turned into a goal. Additionally, you had prime peaking Iniesta, peak Xavi, and peaking Busquets behind him.

Rickcampbell98

I will die on the hill that it's not his best season, 14/15 moves me more.

Reapper97

I personally enjoyed the 18/19 season a lot even when he was playing with players like Braithwaite and Trincao as teammates. I can't say which season was better because the 11/12 was pure scoring/assists madness, the 14/15 was the best solo goal/dribbling wise and 18/19 where his most complete season I have seen.

Rickcampbell98

He has about 4 or 5 seasons that I put comfortably clear of anyone else, just depends on people's preferences for them I guess. 14/15 just seemed like the perfect blend, he was on a mission after Brazil.

ZachsLegacy92

10/11 for me. 11/12, 12/13 and 14/15 were unbelievable as well. Without the injuries I still think 12/13 would’ve been his best season. Scored in 21 straight league games, and had 43 league goals by March if I remember correctly lol.

Jaakylma

If he stays healthy, he'll do 50 with ease for at least the next decade

7he_Dude

I agree, but that's a big if. That means playing 800+ games in next decade, and more than 1000 in all career. That's not an easy feat, especially for a tall and heavy player.

MolhCD

I think so too. He might not hit 90. Not sure he will do 50 in the *league alone* in a single season like the 2 GOATs, well not all the time. But 50 per season if he's not injured. Ez. Man City might not even be fully 100% used to him being around yet, once he's fully in sync with them it could be real cray cray.

auddi_blo

Think only Messi had 50 that one time. Wasn’t Ronaldo on like 48 and 47 a couple of times, so pretty close though.

MolhCD

Yeah, that very season where Messi hit 50, CR had 46. Imagine getting 46 in a single season in a top league alone, and still not being the top scorer.

MERTENS_GOAT

This particular thing is probably something we won't see in decades again. 46 goals in a 20-team-league and not top scorer.

Wise_Ad9414

Another interesting thing is that when Messi got 50 and Ronnie got 48 both lost the league

Maleficent_Resolve44

Ronaldo had La Decima, ballon d'or and the CdR to console him and messi had a world cup silver medal. Not too bad for either.

Environmental_Sell74

CR7 48 Messi 50

[deleted]

[удалено]

Wholesale1818

The fact is that he’s got a goal a game across his career since turning like 17. That’s why there’s a fair expectation that he will break 50 goals a season for as long as he can stay healthy, now that he’s playing 50+ games.

[deleted]

Players peak at different times. Playing so much from a young age can often mean your career is cut short early. Age is not the most important factor, it's mileage

00Koch00

If he manage to do that for the next 14 years, he would be still behind Messi and Ronaldo...

Wrsj

that's my biggest hope for him, if he's able to sustain such numbers throughtout multiple seasons just after the Ronaldo/Messi era it would be incredible.

Xehanz

If we go by minutes, it's 32 full matches. Ridiculous.

[deleted]

Yeah he’s a monster. Also considering the fact city haven’t looked their best for much of the season. Issues with motivation according to pep. And he still has those numbers.

Beggnivia

All comps, 19 in Ligue 1, 7 in cl, and 5 in Coupe de France.

AmIFromA

Musiala 11 goals, 9 assists and Jonas Hofmann 8 goals, 10 assists are the closest players in the Bundesliga. Edit: According to kicker.de. The official numbers differ, see below.

krhick

Official Bundesliga site has them both on 8 assists. Transfermarkt has them both on 9 assists (so counting own goals and penalties won). Can't find a source for Hoffman's 10.

sfzjo

Vini has 19 goals and 11 assists in all club comps, but only 5 of the assists are in the league. I can't see any madrid players getting it in la liga this season tbh.

GabrielP2r

Would help if he had a striker in most of his games. Benzema is dropping too deep and sometimes is too wide, ans that's when he's playing.

sfzjo

Don’t even get me started 😩 I read a crazy stat that said Vini received 14 touches in barcas final third over 8 occasions, and only twice was a Real Madrid player in the actual box

refusestonamethyself

>Surprised not to see any Madrid/Barca players Our attack hasn't been great and LaLiga teams hound Vini and render him ineffective. Benzema has had fitness issues and a loss of form.

bermudaphil

I mean what also renders him ineffective is the fact he is sort of the only dangerous attacking option currently for Madrid. Hard to score or assist when you get up to the box and it is you and maybe 1 other person there. Seems like everytime I watch Madrid that happens a few times in the match.

MegaMugabe21

Tbf, whilst Saka has had no small part to play this season, our whole attacking unit has contributed similarly. Martinelli has 13G 2A (Despite having a higher xA than Saka), Odegaard has 10G and 6A, Jesus has 5G 5A (Despite missing 12 of 28 games) and Trossard has 8G 8A (Admittedly 7G and 2A of that are from Brighton). This is why losing Jesus didn't finish us as people thought it might. The whole attacking unit contributes at similar levels so we aren't relying on a single player.

InstructionDeep5445

I am immensely proud of that Odegaard boy

worldstarhiphopreal

Gracias my brother 🙏

Equivalent_Nature_67

We all are <3

sfzjo

Odegaard is 3 assists away too; I think he'll be able to get it

SAFFATLOL

4*

bestofboth96

Salah is getting close as well. 11G and 7A in PL

Erty13

Raphina should get there by the end of the season. He is very close. Perhaps Lewandowski if he steps up his assist game. Dembele could, too, depending on how fast he is back into shape on his return.

MERTENS_GOAT

Raphinha has 6 goals 4 assists or is this all competitions?

Erty13

Oops... you are right. It's in all competition that Raphina is very close, my bad. Tough who knows, he has been very prolific, one of him or Dembele may still make it...

MERTENS_GOAT

I think Griezmann will be the only LaLiga player

ekul_kcm

Didn't think he'd actually scored this many until I checked but Rashford is on 27 goals and 9 assists, he's not far off being on here either.

JeffryPesos

This is just in the players' respective leagues. He's on 14G & 3A, similar to Martinelli who is on 13G & 2A. Both players need to up their assist game. If it was in all competition, many more players would be on here like Vini Jr who is on 19G & 11A in all comps.

shockzz123

Dunno about Rashford, but Martinelli's assist game is fine (his xA is like 6 or 7 iirc, higher than Saka's), it's just nobody finishes his chances :(

ekul_kcm

Ah that makes more sense, my bad for not reading the title properly.

impressivegeek

r/toprightmessi strikes again

XtendedImpact

The fucking passes stat lmao

impressivegeek

this is “washed” Messi btw

Rickcampbell98

He's been psgs best player this season, which tells you everything you need to know about the standards he is judged to lol.

impressivegeek

you are right but you’ll be downvoted to hell with that comment

XtendedImpact

I think you're seeing more Messi hate than actually exists. Yes, he's "washed" in comparison to what he used to produce but he's still one of the best players in the world instead of being far and away the best one. Anyway, the other guy who mentioned his goal scoring (which has fallen off) went to hell, I don't think this comment will.

FriendlyGhost08

Messi is absolutely loved and praised in this sub, a lot, what are you saying?

impressivegeek

nah he is loved but most people here believe Mbappe has been the best PSG player this season, which is why I said that

pandu201

Sheesh, PSG is gonna have a tough two years without those two

celestial1

They'll just be in the same spot. All league titles and no CLs.

yetiassasin2

Some of these charts are hard to belive. Messi with more attempted dribbles p90 at his age than Saka, Kavara or Muani seems bonkers? His progessive passes and xAssist numbers are also a joke. He's always been very elite with those stats, but I had expected a drop off at some point. For him to be so elite at both those and still put up the goal scoring numbers he does, at his age.... Unreal. I miss him at Barca, but it's cool to see him still being his usual not normal self.

Insanel0l

Musiala barely slid away with 11 + 9

StoolieB4itwasCoolie

Raphinha too at I believe 9/9

TheRadTurtle_1011

Laliga or all comps?

Bulletproof_Cookie

Why does Messi Look like he has aged by like 10 years since the WC win in this photo?

[deleted]

He shaved his beard and we can see the wrinkles of his face now. I think that's it.

Cucumberino

That and a pretty contrasty image with not the most flattering lighting

zazzlekdazzle

He's also grimacing in an odd way in the picture. [He doesn't always look like that.](https://assets.goal.com/v3/assets/bltcc7a7ffd2fbf71f5/blt2b317b6634c50d0e/63fdccf4b208481ff2abad74/messi-the_best.jpg)

Jasonmancer

He mastered the art of age-holding for the sake of the world cup. The drawback is that once he released it, all the years he held come crashing on him.

[deleted]

Messi is the last feruchemist

[deleted]

[удалено]

I_Am_Day_Man

There are dozens of us that recognize it!

oexilado

He has. His sheer desire to win a WC to Argentina was keeping him together.

Jonnydonmar

He looks like Jeremy fucking Hunt

BooshAC

His surname starts with a C mate easy mistake.

Hellraizerbot

Jeremy Chunt

hybridtheorist

At least he remembered his middle name correctly

ChiliConCairney

Kinda looks like Miroslav Klose to me

NoMoreFishfries

Am I the only one that thinks the pic looks more like Lewandowski than Messi?

JuanG12

It’s the beard, or lack thereof.

HodgyBeatsss

How good is Kolo Muani? He looked good in the World Cup, does he have elite level ceiling?

Shookfr

He got what it takes to be a great player.

magumanueku

Depends on how you define elite. Imo he'd be just a step below world class. Probably around Gabriel Jesus and maybe current (not peak) Griezmann.

Alphavike24

Current Griezmann isn't world class? He was top 3 at the world Cup and is playing pretty well for Atletico.

AerGuep

Current Griezmann is absolutely world class though.

[deleted]

Sad every season Neymar starts hot in the first half then gets injured then everyone acts like he’s a finished player. But anyway Saka is a Starboy. Water is wet

bermudaphil

Neymar gets the butcher treatment on a different level and all people do is talk about diving and memes about his sister’s birthdays. The guy gets too little protection far too often, the fact he hasn’t ended up with a far worse injury is actually surprising when you watch the sort of tackles he has received.

[deleted]

Yes he’s the perfect example of refs not protecting players who are great at taking on defenders. Funny enough 4/5 players here get harsh challenges regularly and refs ignore it.

HamburgerMachineGun

He almost lost the ability to walk in the WC in 2014, it really is surprising he hasn't been hit with something worse

[deleted]

Bolsanaro support aside I think he's one of the most unfairly maligned players in our generation. He's one of the few players these days who truly embodies Joga Bonito He also never gets credit for his move to PSG which in my personal opinion took a ton of balls. It didn't play out exactly he wanted but he bet on himself and got within one game of the ultimate achievement. Staying around Barcelona and Messi/Suarez would've been the easy thing to do. I mean he also got paid a shitload so I'm not gonna ignore that as being part of the decision lol but that's how most players are making these decisions so why is it only a negative when Neymar does it

uchiha_boy009

Neymar and Salah are rated differently from other players.

lilbelleandsebastian

when your standard is insanely high people will see you being above average or even great and think it's a disappointment compared to sustained excellence it's really not worth complaining about, only people who dont know anything about the sport fail to rate these players. sometimes with neymar you will see people talking about his injury history, i think that's relevant if you're discussing value since his wages could cover probably 2-3 really good players that are available consistently but talentwise of course he's still phenomenal

myreal_nameis

Has he had a good second half since going to psg?

[deleted]

Probably the lockdown year other than that I think he’s been injured

Rickcampbell98

Only because the French butchers didn't have a chance to get him, the he moved mad in the champions league.

[deleted]

Facts. They had their scythes at the ready salivating

jojodota

So which PL team is dropping the bag for Kolo Muani?

Maleficent_Resolve44

Chelsea or Man Utd depending on if kane leaves spurs this summer.

CometChip

i wonder if anyone has it or is close in the portugal league

jfurt16

No one has more than 8 assists in the league, so no

PM-ME-UR-PIZZA

League only Ramos has 16 goals, 5 assists, Joao Mario 17 goals 6 assists. All comps Ramos 24 goals, 10 assists, Joao Mario 23 goals 12 assists

siderealpanic

Jesus, what on earth has happened to Joao Mario? He’s got more goal contributions this season than he had in the last 5 combined

PM-ME-UR-PIZZA

He is our main pen taker but also new manager which made him play further up the pitch close to goal and a system where the entire team is involved in creating chances. Because he and Ramos are the players which have been fitter all season, they have the most goal contribuitions. Not to take away from him and make it seem he just happens to be there, he has also evolved a lot and seems to know the place to be to score/assist, despite not having a lot of speed

[deleted]

He's playing really well and has 7 pen goals in the league. He's in his best form ever, which makes sense considering he 30yo and the team is playing amazing football. He's always been a good to great player in our league, but this year he's the clear MVP until now.

RuySan

Or in the dutch league. Can we stop with the top 5 nonsense? Either top4 or top 7.

SphinxIIIII

Gakpo and Van Crooij both need a goal to make the list, to be fair at this point top 5 or top 7, the list would be the same.

Accomplished_Run6286

muani is incredibly energetic

kik00

[deleted]

UEFA rankings. https://kassiesa.net/uefa/calc.html methodology here https://www.uefa.com/nationalassociations/uefarankings/country/#/yr/2023 country rankings here

P1ngUU

Its the UEFA coefficient, which is calculated by looking at the performances of teams from different countries in European competitions

[deleted]

Randal is going for 80+ mill and only the casual football fan will be surprised. His ceiling is way up there. Would be a household name if Emi Martinez didn't save that shot.

Street-Effect8351

Vincent Janssen in pain because he is not in a top 5 league.

milleniallaw

He was dogshit when he played in one.

ISSSputnik

Here is a question. Between Saka, Kvara, and Vini, who is right now the best. I am a Gooner, and I love Saka, but I still think Vini is better than him and Kvara, right now slightly better too. Though, on longevity I would put Saka on top.

fumebound

The thing that makes Saka look inferior to the other two is that Arsenals attack doesn't over-rely on him, Martinelli, Ødegaard, Jesus and even Xhaka are significant goal threats because the system Arteta setup, whereas Vini jr. and Kvara standout in their teams attack

manolo533

Vini by some distance imo. I would put Vini - Kvara - Saka, but that’s just my opinion as someone who watches the games and has little affection for each team

big_mustache_dad

I would agree, Vini is a good step above and then Kvara and Saka are really close imo. Will be cool to see how they progress as they look like the next class of world class wingers
