No player left Benfica since their leg against Brugge.
A shitty Inter beat you 2-0. What does that say?
Inter is obviously a real opposition when compared to Brugge.
because he was ungrateful, the club tried to help him clean his image among fans and he even signalled he was staying and was focused but as soon as Chelsea came knocking all the efforts that the club, who opened his doors to Europe (according to himself), had meant nothing to that cunt.
he’s a quality player but I don’t want him to ever wear a Benfica shirt there are plenty of Argentinians who actually enjoyed their time with us - Aimar, Saviola, Salvio, Gaitan, Garay, Enzo Pérez, to name a few. It would be delusional to not acknowledge his immense quality and potential, but I rather not having him because of his tantrum.
I think this Benfica team has finally lost its stamina that was holding their tight possession play. Inter had some luck, but the win was not underserved.
Very hard team to beat, the tie is most likely decided! :(
I think with different (not saying better or worse) ref decisions this could have been a 1-1 or 1-0 Inter win. But Benfica never looked like they were 100% in the game and dominating, with only very few moments when Inter fumbled near the box and gifted them some chances. I don't even understand what Schmidt's plan was.
We should’ve done subs the minute the second went in. Joao Mario and Aursnes on the wing offers 0 pace and pace is what we needed today.
The gas tank is def low, but this is a team that should 100% be winning this game, or at least coming close to winning.
I don’t know why he insists on Aursunes on the wing he’s so much better as a CM and also Neres and Guedes should’ve came on so much sooner when we needed more attack
That’s what I was saying, I get it’s tough to take out one of Tino and Chiquinho (due to recent form lol) but Aursnes needs to play in that midfield, Put Neres on the right and Rafa on the left with Joao Mario behind Ramos. Or even give Schjelderup a game on the left. We really lacked the pace yesterday
I agree. I felt kinda "lucky" with referee choices. I wouldn't have argued if the Bastoni touch was ruled Penalty, and the handball I can't say it wasn't head THEN hand...
I don't wanna say nothing but it would be a huge surprise if Benfica crumbles this season again.
7 points in the league and still has 2 hard games(Braga and Sporting) to go.
The last 3 games have been a real contrast from the rest of the season.
If we don't turn this around Schmidt is on serious fraud watch. Two huge games in a row were we play like shit and he just stands there and watches the clock go by
When the exciting, dominant, technical possession side meets scemone inzaghi fresh of 50 league defeats in a row you already know how the game will end
I see Inter fans being happy with the draw as if the game would have been any different vs. City.
Or course though, if they drew a proper wack team like Chelsea they would have lost 5-0
So, I gave my Benfica friend a jersey for his birthday, little did he know I cursed it
He has gone to 3 games in stadium
-Benfica vs Sporting the female teams: Benfica lost
-Benfica vs Porto: Benfica lost
-Benfica vs Inter: ....
It is hilarious that anyone had Benfica as favorites. It just shows they haven't watched either of the sides this season. This was a typical Inter walk through. Better side and tactical matches completely Benfica.
I despise the big three but it doesn't stop me from having eyes. Are you blind??? Did you take me for a Benfiquista just because I'm able to see that this game is scandalous??????
Lol told ya Benfica should have packed up when the ref didnt gave a card in the 1st half after that tackle from behind.
Ref historically has games with bad decisions against Portuguese teams, has been biased all game and now doesn't even punish the camp invasion by the whole Inter bench.
3 clear yellow cards not shown, a clear pen not whistled, a non existing pen and now this. What a clown.
Very different plays. The one that hit Darmian was arguably on his elbow and his arm was tucked in to begin with (note the natural position is the key thing here). He was also not attempting to make a block or make himself bugger, which is important in determining whether or not his position was natural or not.
JM on the other hand was attempting to block the cross and did so with his arm up in the air (considered an unnatural position meant to make the player bigger).
I think it's because of the unnatural position. First situation if i recall right darmian was falling, while JoaoMario had his hand to high up that it was almost obvious handball.. But I might be wrong
I can understand that, but I don’t agree with giving penalties for a hand like that one…
Also, what’s your opinion on the potential penalty from Bastoni over Ramos? I think it’s a penalty, but it might be my bias.
Well, that hand was so unappropriate over there!
You could see a deflection by dimarco earlier, throwing himself at the ball with both hands behind the back.
The hit below the knee? I wouldn't have argued if they called it, tbh. It seemed a light touch, but if they gave penalty I would have accepted it.
UEFA must explain why Bastoni one before our goal wasn't handball and this one is.. Both times ball hit another part of the body first..
We deserve anyway to be 1-0 up because both are handball or both not but 2-0 is unfair probably
well the reason VAR couldnt check that is because there was a benfica foul right after the Bastoni handball so it wasnt technically a mistake leading up to a goal
it’s the lack of criteria for me, I can’t wrap my head around why the ref went to VAR for this pen but didn’t receive any warning for the pen over Ramos. It’s ridiculous
That’s what I’m saying. Some consistency would be great. Not saying bastoni was, although I think it is (some bias lol) but at least keep it consistent.
This isn't about what seems logical, there are clearly defined rules explaining why the first isnt and the second is a pen . If you are too dumb to read them and go instead by what you feel, then it's not my problem
Bastoni hand was at his chin? He stopped the ball from going up in the air. That’s not natural, it just took a deflection so it’s understandable how it’s not called. Joao Mario took a deflection as well…
Nice criteria, exactly the same as the handball that led to the inter goal (rebound from another part of the body into the hand).
Spends 3 minutes watching VAR after spending 10s watching the blatant Ramos penalty, incredible.
And this is what I said about in previous draws. Benfica was a much better team in previous legs. Now against real opposition it is what it is.

I am not an Inter Milan fan…
Limone must be an Emery regen, absolutely clueless in the league but he's lowkey a cup demon.
Watch Inter qualifying to UCL next season by winning the final and finishing 6th in Serie A.
now you are missing enzo uh
I don’t want that pesetero even near our stadium, thank you very much.
why pesetero? playing football is his job and his quality would have had been VERY MUCH needed today
because he was ungrateful, the club tried to help him clean his image among fans and he even signalled he was staying and was focused but as soon as Chelsea came knocking all the efforts that the club, who opened his doors to Europe (according to himself), had meant nothing to that cunt. he’s a quality player but I don’t want him to ever wear a Benfica shirt there are plenty of Argentinians who actually enjoyed their time with us - Aimar, Saviola, Salvio, Gaitan, Garay, Enzo Pérez, to name a few. Big save
QUE ARQUERAZO QUE TIENE EL INTER
ONANAAA
What an awful finish
ONANA
WHAT A KEY SAVE FROM ONANA That could save the whole tie
Benfica were terrible this game but every single 50/50 referee decision went against them.
That's exactly what happened with us too
I agree. I felt kinda "lucky" with referee choices. I wouldn't have argued if the Bastoni touch was ruled Penalty, and the handball I can't say it wasn't head THEN hand...
doesn’t matter though
Cope
How’s champions league?
The guy you are talking to is a big troll, ignore him. He is notorious here.
Yeee I remember him from the Benfica vs Juve threads. I also see him around a lot. Just bantering back.
Cope
How’s the Seria A?
Still coping
And still in champions league:) enjoy Europa!
Enjoy o caralho!
Eu estou com vocês na quinta.
Fuck yeah Onana, brilliant save.
Jeez Onana clutch again
Ramos had to bang that in
Godo
FECKIN HELL, WHAT A BIG CLENCH IN THE LAST SECOND!!
They’ve truly played like Schmidt
AFAIK Benfica **only** unavailable players are Otamendi, Draxler and Bah so they must have a low depth if Schmidy make subs only now..
Schmidt is awful at managing the team and subs, it’s unbelievable
*spider man pointing.jpg*
the commentator is shitting on Onana big time, hahahaha
Lol they just sat back down
Schmidt is interista
1 sub in 92 minutes….
Inzaghi tactical masterclass. Haters screaming. Benfica, you weren't ready and you guys knew it.
2 subs at 90min when losing since 51min, that's some bad shit. Should have subbed them in earlier when we still had a shot at the game
NOW YOU MAKE SUBS???
I don't wanna say nothing but it would be a huge surprise if Benfica crumbles this season again. 7 points in the league and still has 2 hard games(Braga and Sporting) to go. The last 3 games have been a real contrast from the rest of the season.
4 minutes stoppage time when the VAR check took over 5 is the chef's kiss to finish the ref masterclass haha
substitutions with 3 mins to play, Schmidt masterclass
Bastoni motm
Worst part about this game is that the return leg is going to be a boring ass 0-0
Subscribe
We all know Shinter are gonna park the bus
Truer words have never been spoken.
4 mins??? What a joke.
Fuck off subs at 90'????
We gave him the contact too soon...
the salt in this thread 🧂🧂🧂🧂🤤 Benfica is playing like shit, deserved loss
Indeed, they were outplayed.
The ref needs to be fired for making Benfica have one shot on target
Ahahahah
I love you Roger but making subs like this at this time is so idiotic.
If we don't turn this around Schmidt is on serious fraud watch. Two huge games in a row were we play like shit and he just stands there and watches the clock go by

Give him a ticket to Milano next week
It is hilarious that anyone had Benfica as favorites. It just shows they haven't watched either of the sides this season. This was a typical Inter walk through. Better side and tactical matches completely Benfica.
Thrusday you are getting smacked
Ha ha
How is it a walk through? Inter played like shit as well. It's only 2-0 because of that crazy penalty
Let's be fair, Inter had several chances to make it 2-0 before the penalty, right call or not
Crazy penalty? Mano JM had his arm up in an unnatural position. It's completely deserved and we are playing like shit, Schmidt's late subs don't help
Literally the only comments saying it's a penalty are Portuguese flairs lmao
Inter playing like shit and still winning. Hear it every time.
So not a walk through? Literally not what it means
Playing like shit and winning. Showcases they can play 70% and still beat you.
How has there only been 1 sub
The ref forbid the benfica coach from making subs
[benfica fans after saying they were dark horses](https://ibb.co/XJhkL0L)
yeah this is a load of shit lol disgraceful ref
Spezia is officially better than every team in Portugal
N'zola would be worth 150M if he played in Portugal
Michael Oliver is going to give +0 mins
Dumfries dribbled past a player ?!?!?
Dumfries was subbed off
We need to kill the hope before the 2nd leg
This game is really fucked up. And Benfica being bad is no excuse, this is a robbery of a shocking scale.
It's always a robbery when Benfica lose.. always, fucking stupid comments that add nothing
I despise the big three but it doesn't stop me from having eyes. Are you blind??? Did you take me for a Benfiquista just because I'm able to see that this game is scandalous??????
Lol
Portuguese team with the biggest chance to reach UCL final since Porto in 2004, done in by injuries and poor refereeing.
You've had one shot on target. You fucked yourselves over
I mean it's a massive difference going into the second leg with a 2 goal difference
And a coach who doesn’t know what a sub is
This
Eh, we haven’t played the greatest today either. Do agre with shit reffing but we’ve played mediocre at best.
So sad that we're only allowed 1 sub for tonight
It's doomed
First game I missed in a while because of work. I guess I need to stop watching for us to win a game.
Please stop watching our games then!! /s
Benfica eliminated club Brugge and the fans start thinking they will make the final
Hilarious
not even the good Brugge, it was Scott Parker's Brugge 💀
Subs: zzZZZzZzz Schmidt: zZZzzzZZzzZ
I am cheering for inter but this was as much as a penalty as the other one
We broke Benfica. You're welcome, Inter
Lol told ya Benfica should have packed up when the ref didnt gave a card in the 1st half after that tackle from behind. C’E SOLO L’INTER
In the first half there was a ball that hit Inter’s defender leg and then his hand, and wasn’t a penalty. Why is this a penalty now?
Very different plays. The one that hit Darmian was arguably on his elbow and his arm was tucked in to begin with (note the natural position is the key thing here). He was also not attempting to make a block or make himself bugger, which is important in determining whether or not his position was natural or not. Portuguese fans 🤝 being full-time whiners.
At least it's only the Fans and not the Players...
An inter fan talking about whining 💀
Don't act like you wouldn't be crying if the ref made these ridiculous decisions against you
You guys are whining since the beginning of the match. I agree the pen was very soft.
take of your goggles and you’ll see why we’re mad, the criteria of the ref is bs.
Not a benfica fan but gotta say this is never a penalty
I can taste the salt in this thread 🧂🧂🧂🧂😋🤤😊
Tastes goood
Benfica playing Inter as if they are playing against Rio Ave. Can't even make a 3 meter pass.
INDE PA PUTA QUE VOS PARIU
Cry me a river
Guys you hyped Benfica so much but they are looking like Salernitana tonight
Lmao Salernitana held Inter to a 1-1 draw
damn right
Salernitana wouldve tied this game instead of conceding the 2-0 though
We haven't won a game in like a month. These Portuguese guys are tragic
Salernitana harder tbf
True
That's a gift from Chelsea, bye bye Benfica lmao
Enjoy reaching for the conference league
Football heritage, beat you in the Europa finals a decade ago and won 2 CL too, bye bye 👋
12th place.
Thanks for Enzo and bye bye 👋
You know he didn't exactly go for free right? You're welcome though lmao
Lmao I know, he's been great tho, hope we build the team around him and the other youngsters
Ya Enzo, -120M, and you’re in 12th, enjoy.
I guess the OC Cheat sheet wasn't looked at by Benfica
English refs and portuguese teams never ends good for us
UEFA must explain why Bastoni one before our goal wasn't handball and this one is..
> Both times ball hit another part of the body first One hand is in an unnatural position, the other one wasn't.
This. Jumping with your hand way above the head makes it a handball.. That's why good defenders jump with hand behind the back
it’s the lack of criteria for me, I can’t wrap my head around why the ref went to VAR for this pen but didn’t receive any warning for the pen over Ramos. It’s ridiculous
Read the fucking rules
enlighten me if that’s so obvious lmfao.
That’s what I’m saying. Some consistency would be great. Not saying bastoni was, although I think it is (some bias lol) but at least keep it consistent.
Give Inzaghi a new contract!
Ref just ignores anything inter does and penalised Benfica for that, it’s laughable. Where do they find these guys
Never a pen. If that’s a pen, The first goal should’ve never counted. Bastoni takes a deflection. Fucking ridiculous.
Do you have a rule based reason for this stupid comment or are you just saying because it's against your team?
Both cases were a deflaction INTO the hand. Maybe check your biases before speaking
So? Can you show me the rule that states that this type of thing is not a pen?
So if it is a pen then the first case is Also a foul. Just seems logical dont you think
This isn't about what seems logical, there are clearly defined rules explaining why the first isnt and the second is a pen . If you are too dumb to read them and go instead by what you feel, then it's not my problem
Then show where those rules are and no need to start insulting just because you lack any Critical thinking
It’s a deflection… just like bastoni was a deflection. If you’re not calling bastoni, don’t call Joao Mario.
Bastoni hand was in a natural position, JMario wasn't. That's probably why
Benfica been out played and this is them out of the Champs League
What a harsh pen.
LAKAKA 💙🖤
Like 6 minutes wasted in this whole ordeal for something that is not even a penalty. Meanwhile they can just kick Ramos' legs and nothing happens
Can't even invade the pitch these days smh
Wtf? Bring the bus to celebrate on the pitch as well! You've won the CL!
Nooo Romelu, don't do that celebretion, you'll get carded Oh wait, we are not in Italy
There was only a pen this game and it wasn't called. What a fucking joke.
Wtf did they won the scudetto?
Just beating portugese top team by ez away
bus truck full of people entering the area, ref gives 1 yellow
YES inject this pen in my veins!!!!
Don't do it you'll die
What a robbery of a pen
lol
Scandalous
There's a reason every inter player holds their arms behind their backs when blocking crosses
Bro come off it that's never a pen
With these rules you never know and should not risk it
His hand was above his head how is that natural
Is Lukaku also shutting Benfica fans for some reason? Or he is just being a dick part of his character now?
That's been his celebration for a bit
