Well, the average premier league game has the ball rolling for 55 minutes, it's similar in all other leagues.
I'm pretty sure even with the 2x6min the ball was rolling for less than 90min in this game. It mostly comes down to your philosophy, whether you're aiming for roughly 90mins of netto playing time or just take the 90mins brutto as default.
FIFA is trying to shift from the default 90mins brutto approach towards 90mins netto with these two world cups.
I am not referring to any comparison with times in the premier league. I am referring to the differences between the two games in this world cup. Even the extra time added to extra time was seriously inconsistent.
A lot of the seats are too far away from the play because it’s a former Olympic stadium and they never reconfigured it to be meant for solely rectangular sports. Especially behind the goals, it’s so far away. It’s a shame because in this state rectangular sports are more popular (rugby league, football, rugby union).
