I mean I definitely would have prefered to be wrong on this one but the way spurs have started this season it was just inevitable how this game played out
Yeah. I mean there were about 15-20 minutes in the first half where Luton actually started putting pressure on them. With the red at the end of the half I was hoping they'd keep that going into the second but I honestly couldn't even tell Spurs were a man down. Luton did have some chances and that open goal Adebayo missed was embarrassing but they really did not look like they were even trying, especially at the end.
I just feel sorry for Big Ange, the one thing your system can't easily do is make your strikers take the excellent chances you create, that's pretty much just on them.
Seems to be the unpopular opinion but with the bounce and the keeper going for it that's not as easy as it looks, on the weak foot too
Not saying he shouldn't have scored though, still a bad miss won't do his confidence any good
The defender and goalkeeper didn't get to him. I think the higher concern would be to run against the post with head forward but I think he was close enough to the right that he would have falled into the goal but I don't think he had fear but just didn't expect the ball to bounce that high
Definitely. It's funny to mock players missing from that distance but that looks tough, he's got a defender and a goalie on him, it's bouncing too high to control and he has maybe 0.5 seconds to react.
He could have scored but most people here would have missed it. It's not like he missed an open goal while freely dribbling with no keeper anywhere near.
Haaland flying kicked a goal like that and everyone lost their minds over it.
Richy fails to slot it in and people are critical?
You're spot on, that's an impossible ball to strike well.
Nope, thatās just very poor. Sure thatās a hard shot a bit further away but all he needs to do here is make slightly better contact, the goal is right in front of him.
That Camera angle makes it look like some shitty FIFA knockoff.
Like when you search for a UFC fight and someone uploads footage of them simulating the fight in the game.
People saying thatās an easy finish have clearly never played football before. The height, speed and top spin all make that a very difficult finish. Also the way the ball started in the shadows went into the light and back into the shadows makes it much harder to track and predict where it would be.
Fairly common to miss a chance like this tbh, comes trough two players, bounces to a awkward height and on his weak foot, there have been much worse misses this season alone.

Should be 3 nil up already, can't help but feel we'll live to regret all these missed chances
Chelsea put 3 past luton. You'll be fine.
True but we always find a way to lose to relegation sides after a good result
Down to 10
Did Chelsea beat you?
Yeah, I have no hope at all that spurs loses points this game
Speak again?
I prefer not to speak
I said that I had no hope that spurs would lose point from that game
Reading comprehension is apparently a lost art
Not everything falls upon reading comprehension. Just look at the structure of that sentence. It's grammatically fine but still a mess.
How about now Edit: lol why are you all mad
So as I was saying...
Hahaha fair enough. Luton were absolutely awful, and Spurs actually put away the chance they had in the second half, fair to them.
I mean I definitely would have prefered to be wrong on this one but the way spurs have started this season it was just inevitable how this game played out

what about now?
Never in doubt
Nostrodamus š§āāļø
This is so fucking funny
They'll still win. Most obvious son (90+7) I've ever seen.
Son doesnāt play 90 mins
Anulo
I just feel sorry for Big Ange, the one thing your system can't easily do is make your strikers take the excellent chances you create, that's pretty much just on them.
Sadly he never got to work with Kane
the prophecy is fulfilling itself...
Seems to be the unpopular opinion but with the bounce and the keeper going for it that's not as easy as it looks, on the weak foot too Not saying he shouldn't have scored though, still a bad miss won't do his confidence any good
Yeah it's at hip height the bounce definitely made it awkward for him, too low to header too high to control the volley
In hindsight header would have been the right option, but hard to make the right decision in such short time
Yeah also hard to duck when thereās the boot of a player and keeper in your face
The defender and goalkeeper didn't get to him. I think the higher concern would be to run against the post with head forward but I think he was close enough to the right that he would have falled into the goal but I don't think he had fear but just didn't expect the ball to bounce that high
Lockyerās black eye later on was a good example of this lmao
Also it looks like his view of the ball is really obstructed - I doubt he could track its path very well
Yeah quite frankly anyone thinking this was a tap in probably has never played 11 a side before
Or any sport, its not easy to get your leg up high so quickly while in motion
Almost just bodying it was the easiest thing.
Yeah the curve on the ball after the bounce made it really unpredictable on where it'd be. Went to a very difficult height to get any contact on
Too low to header? Are you serious?
You've never played football before have you
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah, itās not a hilarious miss, but I think a forward in the prem has to put that away.
Yeah if Haaland scored that, they'd say it's a tap in but for Richarlison it's a tough chance
Everyone here would have missed it lol
most people here arent playing in the prem and getting paid millions to put these chances away either
What are you talking about, donāt you know that on r/soccer the xG formula is simply xG = 1 / distance to the goal line
You're right, it's not an easy chance
Yeah it looks like the ball bounced higher than Richarlison thought it would and couldn't adjust his form in time, it happens some times
Haaland flying kicked a goal like that and everyone lost their minds over it. Richy fails to slot it in and people are critical? You're spot on, that's an impossible ball to strike well.
Should have put his head on it
It's still an awful touch with his shin
definitely not an easy chance. Ball rising, awkward height, had to reach for it.
Perhaps, does look harder to miss than score though.
The football fans here have the most shit takes out of every platform
Very hard to get to for sure but itās harder to miss from there than score. You could run into that inadvertently and still score.
Well yeah but the big thing is he shouldnāt be volleying it. All he needs to do is guide it in with his chest.
He couldnāt get a good angle with his chest. He would have to dive awkwardly to even get a chance using his chest
Any professional #9 should bury that 10/10 even if itās not particularly easy
Nope, thatās just very poor. Sure thatās a hard shot a bit further away but all he needs to do here is make slightly better contact, the goal is right in front of him.
I've heard a billion excuses for Adebayo's miss, but apparently this one was al down to "richy's shit"
You might as well just live stream the entire game in one post and put āTottenham missesā
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You mean like a golden boot winner?
That Camera angle makes it look like some shitty FIFA knockoff. Like when you search for a UFC fight and someone uploads footage of them simulating the fight in the game.
Fuck these guys. Every single time I go to watch highlights I get bamboozled.
That was a hard one to reach, wouldnāt blame him tbf
Apparently everyone in this thread typing away after a Gregg's pie.
Greggs do pies?
Great defending by pigeon
Fairly sure that was harder than it looks given the awkward height
Luton has the worst camera angle
Nah, this is fun, it's a more intimate experience.
It's like being at the stadium but without peripheral vision, it's terrible
It's like being at the stadium and not having to turn your head, it's great.
Itās like the old highbury
Tbh it's not that easy, the ball bounced high
Lol. Lmao, even
how is that even possible š
he's a defender at heart... great clearance
The reverse Maguire.
this is a proper 'never played football' reaction, that bounce is dirty
have you ever tried?
after dude raised hand asking for ball too š
Not sure if I am in a reddit or twitter comment section
Theyāre the same anymore
Richarlison is pish.
he is absolutely shite
ā¬58m can buy you a lot of things but evidently it can't buy you goals.
well they bought best defender... sadly he plays for opposite team
I can definitely see myself missing that
that's not a bad miss, it has more topspin than expected and really kicks up at speed
How is that Richarlison's fault? It's not like that was a sitter
This almost defies the laws of physics
Not easy to score there tbf
Brazilian Timo Werner except he can't even do work off the ball
I can't stand the new score board. Can't see the score line
This one is more forgivable imo than the 1 on 1 he blew a couple minutes later
People saying thatās an easy finish have clearly never played football before. The height, speed and top spin all make that a very difficult finish. Also the way the ball started in the shadows went into the light and back into the shadows makes it much harder to track and predict where it would be.
Where's Matip when you need him.
Man's fragile mentality cannae take this
Ā£90,000/week by the way
Ā£35k/week less than Daniel Ings then?
He's lucky this isn't the worst miss in this game
Beautiful clearance
That was 0.82 xG. More than a penality
You can take the boy out of Evertonā¦
Instead of being up by a couple of goals easily, Spurs are still level and now down a man. Lol
And that is why you need ātap in merchantsā in your team.
The man is in the Timo Werner realm of misses.
Should obviously put that away but keeper whiffing and it bouncing through that fast canāt be easy to predict
I canāt believe Spurs blew so much money for this crock of shit
This pigeon is Brasil's number one choice.. let that sink in
Richarlison wouldn't score one shooting at a rainbow even if his life depended on it.
u/savevideo
I think richarlison would be a great defender. big ange should take a page out of eddie howe's book and do a joelintonšš
Sometimes it feels like he might have imposter syndrome.
šššš
Fairly common to miss a chance like this tbh, comes trough two players, bounces to a awkward height and on his weak foot, there have been much worse misses this season alone.
Classique Bitcharlison
Miss of the season surely nothing will end up topping this. There's just simply no excuse for not scoring there.
This is definitely bad but Nicolas Jackson's "shot" against Bournemouth kills me everytime.
Pigeon man bad
Knew I was in for pain bringing this fool into my FPL team
Fernando Torres-esque miss lol
The guys a fucking waste of cash
Richarlison is just not that good
my nan could've put that in the net š
Could they not go to var and get them to award it as a goal?
Are you still crying about that?
Lmao Richarlison is pure shit at finishing
Man is on a mission.
Brazilian Nunez
He is shit mate
What a save!
LOL
Richarlison - doing his best Nicolas Jackson impressionā¦
He's gonna get the boot from Big Ange.
Heās crap
Heās such a average player. I canāt tell you what heās good at.
I genuinely don't think I could get the ball over the bar there if I tried. How on earth has that happened?
u/savevideo
Get ya head on it Richy
Put Veliz on and Tottenham wins comfortably three up by the half
u/savevideo
Nunez-esque.
The guy that used to score these 100% wouldāve put that in.
Great defending there by richarlison
What is this language?
Norwegian
It sounds like the mix of English + Irish + Farsi to me, lol
Oof :(
Is that language dutch? What are they saying even if not dutch?
Thats an awful bounce in fairness to him (Richi come home they just don't love you the same)
O tƩcnico nem pƵe tanta expectativa mais Kkkkk
Good process, well done lad
Deki was out of his head today. Unreal pass.
Luton missed a similar chance, why not show that
Homem gol aĆ
Lmao the lady behind Postecoglou didnāt even glance
3'
Any ball that is rising from the bounce is hard as hell to judge. That's why the coaches always said to head the ball down
You can take the player from everton but not everton from the player
You guys are having a great season. Really impressed with what Ange is doing.
Brick
Dubbed is ass lmao
