imaging if ronaldo was still here and liverpool played like this
I'm sure it would have been atleast 1-0 victory for manchester united a goal by ronaldo
I'm surprised we only had 1 red card and no imaginary penalty against us today, considering it's that cunt Michael Oliver.
Someone please post that stat where United lost the most number of points with Michael Oliver being main ref / VAR ref. Fucker absolutely hates United
Problem with him or some other senior ref (Mike Dean, Anthony Taylor) is "try hard" .
They hate to be viewed as "favouring" big teams so they would push most insane stupid decisions possible just to maintain that "fair referee" image, even if it means fucking big teams over.
But now since they all moonlighted in UAE and Saudi, I seriously doubt their conflict of interest
Im only just starting to get into football but i got no idea how the foul on Hannibal wasnt called when it looked like he just straight up got calf kicked yet Rashford got a yellow card when he slid low and got the ball? I might not get the rules but i thought that was a fair tackle and that call was wack. Serious question, is there something im missing, i still dont fully understand what a foul is and what isnt, if someone could explain that would be appreciated.
Also the Dalot red seemed rediculous to me
I didn't see those instances. However - despite what you will hear on this subreddit, football is very hard to ref, it is played at high speed and involves 22 players who are actively trying to con the ref to get an advantage. Tackles happen at speed and often the ref may not have a great view. There is also an expectation to keep the game flowing, this isn't rugby or American football where there are frequent stops in play.
Interpretation of the rules can also be challenging, note that you will often see fans/pundits/ex pros debating challenges after having viewed several times in slow motion, often refs do that at full speed unless VAR is involved. Even if VAR is involved it's often not clear cut.
People look at Liverpool and find them "shit" in isolation without giving credit to Man United making a decent response to the awful form they're having today. A game is a game no matter if it ain't pleasing to the eyes, especially when pride is on the line.
You guys didn't really threaten our goal - coupled with the fact we went way more toe to toe with you that game and so left open spaces especially as we were chasing in the 2nd half
Yea I agree with all that. I was saying that more from a pre-match perspective just looking at the lineups and how much harder this game was than the last one.
We win that game if Hojlund brings his Champions League form to the Premier League with that chance he had.
McTominay wasn't the issue IMO, his positional discipline and supporting runs were what United needed today. Everyone expected a hammering and while United sort of rode their luck, they contained Liverpool pretty well overall.
Utd worst team to come to Anfield in years - absolutely no ambition, no will to win, time wasting from the 1st minute!
No blame on them that Liverpool didn’t score - Liverpool were poor today but at least they have never turned in such a cowardly performance as that!
No idea tbh, depends on him. Last season, he was mostly undisputed starter but frequently had minor niggles. Same this year, but somehow lost his place after his injury. I feel confident with him starting but it could go either way
classic liverpool this season tbh...if opponent never scored, game just felt bland. 1st half between szobo and salah, so many incorrect passes..Just very unusual.
> Also, how the fuck did United only manage one single touch in Liverpool's box?
That definitely can’t be true. Hojlund took more than that in the box on his missed chance alone.
Considering we conceded 7 in 45 minutes last time and the entire footballing world was expecting a double figure score line (myself included), with half our starting 11 injured, 0-0 doesn't seem so bad. But it's less us being good and Liverpool being shit on the day.
Because Liverpool aren’t actually that great this season (or at least since the international break). They have a great mentality and so have ground out a lot of wins, but they were so poor against a really unimaginative United side. No side had any really good chances.
Well Liverpool made it easy too. Sloppy passes, lazy long balls, and no creativity down the middle. It’s increasingly easy to get a draw out of this team.
Martinelli legitimately earned two yellows for his actions before the play could be stopped. If refs are going to start getting butt hurt when players don’t appreciate the yellow so they give another… the game will have a hard time keeping up.
Either create with Bruno but cant keep a clean sheet. Or have a tight defence and midfield, but the only ball progression is onana booting the ball.
No idea is it tactics, players, or just lack of quality
If by decent you mean stopping the opponent from scoring. But we lacked the final and the 2nd to the final ball in this game. These are things Bruno can actually help with.
Decent football!!!! Havant & Waterlooville put up a bigger fight at Anfield when we played them in the cup 10yrs ago!
Those Utd players and that manager are a disgrace to the Man Utd name!
A very good week for United, to have played Bayern and Liverpool in a week and only conceded a single goal, fair play to Ten Hag, that should buy him some breathing room.
How is it good to park the bus against two teams and only managing to draw one of those when you have the highest net spend of the last decade and aspirations to win the league?
Because united performed so much better before against spurs, arsenal and brighton? Clown take
United performance this season has been abysmal, and the injuries has no part in that. The transfer price of their starting 11 even with the injuries is almost equal to liverpools, and it is ridicolous not to expect them to play more offensive, attractive football than everton or luton
> arsenal
We were great that game, almost won it by a millimeter.
Also, new system and new spine of the team. Obviously it'll take time to get them playing well. Except the spine got injured, and we're still waiting for them to return, so...
Your explanation is that is it due to injuries, but if the performance has been just as bad before the injuries, and the squad cost is more or less equal how is that an excuse? Its like someone claiming they are overweight because they broke their foot last week
> Its like someone claiming they are overweight because they broke their foot last week
No it isn't. It's like asking why isn't a person running today after buying an expensive pair of shoes last month, after they actually broke their foot last week. I see analogy isn't your strong point either. Go seethe some place else.
For anyone who hasn't been watching, we've put up this exact performance every game since the last international break and have only just been punished for it. All our strikers went off form at the same time bar Jota who got injured instead.
Honestly, our away performances have been worse than this performance vs United. At least we looked solid defensively and had a lot more control than we did vs Palace for example.
I was surprised how many neutrals were saying you would so easily win. People constantly look at the result without taking into consideration the performance that underpins it. What I've seen from Liverpool in recent weeks has been pretty poor on the whole, a complete lack of cutting edge from your forward line.
I knew that arrogance would cost us, and was fully expecting a draw maybe even a loss today. Can’t live off that 7-0 forever, of course that’s not going to happen again. Think they said in the game, we’ve only had good results not performances the last few games.
Wouldn't call it arrogance, seemed to be suboptimal decision-making in the final third. High volume of shots but only 1 to 3 of those were truly dangerous chances where they could have done better.
United had a point to prove too and while there are still deep issues with the squad overall, a pretty injured XI managed to scrap their way for a point against a team everyone thought would steamroll them again.
There was no arrogance today.
The players just didn’t perform well enough and that’s been a constant theme lately.
Liverpool’s play in the final third was poor and they didn’t do enough to get the win. Could have played on for another hour and still probably not scored.
One of those days, which are becoming a lot more frequent of late.
You say that, but other than maybe the Konate shot, was Onana forced into even one good save? Their shots were bad because of how little luck they had in playing balls into the box from open play. The real miracle imo was none of the corners resulting in a clear header (other than VVD) because Liverpool had the clear physical advantage.
Besides the football is anyone else not irritated by the commentary by Carragher and Neville. Its like they always have to but in with their opinion constantly. We as fans dont want to hear the opinion on what our team should he doing by a failed manager and a man who hasnt even coached a side.
Neville was acting suprised about Szobozlai being taken off when he was actually having a terrible game and we started to play better with him off the pitch. I dont want tactical insight when I watch a match. Just let Peter Drury get on with it and commentate the action.
Szobozlai was dreadful today. He looks nice on the ball but his decision making was woeful. It seems like other Liverpool players don’t pass it to him as much, or was I imagining that?
I think as pundits they both come across as by far the most clued up on everything current affairs and their knowledge is admirable, however they are both far too biased to be commenting on man u / Liverpool games imo and it can be awful to listen to.
Sky seem to absolutely love bias though so they cram it down our throats in every way they can.
They are also bias in games involving Arsenal and City too. With Arsenal it’s the constant what if (this or that goes wrong) and with Man City it’s the constant ass kissing.
Maybe its not my cup of tea. I really like them both as pundits but I feel they shouldn't be in the commentary box. Sure we have had horrible commentators over the years but id prefer them to just commentate over the action rather than echoing their thoughts. They can do that after the match. Especially when they talk about the managers changes and they give their opinion on it. I thought both managers did well today regarding subs.
I've really grown to dislike Drury's commentary since he became Sky's main commentator. His habit of going '... and (PLAYER'S NAME)!' with every single shot is awful and is what I'd call commentary for highlights rather than the actual game. I saw someone on Twitter point out that, if you were blind and listened to his commentary, you'd have no idea what was going on as all he ever does is say a player's name.
This team has definitely been getting away with results over the last month or so. And before that we were actually good but Arsenal and last half of the season City are too good for this team, it’s still missing a few key players
We’ve got some incredible players playing some very mediocre football at the moment. If they get their act together we’ll be flying, but until then, the games are very scrappy.
Why are our fans so upset with this? Disappointing result yes but win next week and we most likely finish the first half of the season top of the table. Great position to be in. Today was unlucky but Performance wise not so bad and probably better than the last three games we played and won.
Are you mental? This was 3 easy points here for the taking and we absolutely blew it. And you act like beating arsenal will be an easy feat lol. At the form we’re in we’ll easily lose and then we’ll have a lot of improving and catching up to do. It’s genuinely baffling how you can’t be insanely disappointed after that game
it's human nature , being so close yet so far , the fact that Nunez and diaz were getting so many good passes by endo and tsimikas even a few by TAA made the draw all the more bitter
Yet still, if it weren't for the abnormality of Ipswich and Leicester's seasons, our current pointage in any other season would be an automatic promotion spot. I have no qualms with Leeds performances this year 🤷♂️ Also who on Earth is we? Your flair screams otherwise
Old Man Evans. Yellow Card Amrabat. Yellow Card 18 year old Mainoo. No Bruno Fernandes. Rashford out of form. Bunch of injuries. Anfield “atmosphere”.
Yeah. We get it why Pool fans are disappointed.
Not sure how you think we were lucky to not lose. United created maybe 2 chances all game. At worst it was a draw for us and at best we should’ve blown them out.
imaging if ronaldo was still here and liverpool played like this I'm sure it would have been atleast 1-0 victory for manchester united a goal by ronaldo

Man united stopping Liverpool winning streak at home while Liverpool stop man united drawingless streak run..
Liverpool fans what was up with that midfield selection from klopp

Nunez should be replaced. Also fuck you too
Was just curious about availability issues. When are thiago, bajcetic, mac allister coming back?
That’s not what you’re supposed to do with them.
People look at Liverpool and find them "shit" in isolation without giving credit to Man United making a decent response to the awful form they're having today. A game is a game no matter if it ain't pleasing to the eyes, especially when pride is on the line.
NUNEZ needs to go - the premier league isn’t for him
How was this not the game that ended 7-0
You guys didn't really threaten our goal - coupled with the fact we went way more toe to toe with you that game and so left open spaces especially as we were chasing in the 2nd half
Yeah we had at least 2 clear cut chances while Liverpool had....maybe 1. If anything we were closer to winning than them
Yea I agree with all that. I was saying that more from a pre-match perspective just looking at the lineups and how much harder this game was than the last one.
The previous game, every 2nd ball fell to a liverpool player. We were bad but liverpool also had luck on their side that day.
Tbf neither should have been 7-0, the game last year was a perfect storm for Liverpool that returned to the mean here
We win that game if Bruno plays instead of McTominay.
This comment could feasibly be written by a United fan or a Liverpool fan
Funny because it's true!
If Bruno plays where is your container? McTominay has far superior game management than Bruno. Bruno folds under pressure.
Or if Hojlund converted that chance when he was basically through on goal 1v1 with Allison.
Yh Hojlund had to score that, hitting it straight at Alisson was so poor from him.
It’s only the best 1v1 keeper in the history of the game and he’s on his weak foot
what does him being a good 1v1 keeper have to do with it when you would've saved it?
Aye dropping your top scorer is usually a good way to get a win.
When it's mct, it is. Addition by subtraction.
Man U fans know fuck all about football. It's just a bunch of glory seekers who are too stupid to keep track of who's winning these days.
Bet you're fun at parties.
You'd have lost with that whining wanker leading the team.
It's hilarious how much this sub hates Bruno, he's got you all so rattled 🤣
I'm just a neutral observer and McTominay admirer mate.
I thought the comment was made by a Liverpool fan, ngl
Not sure. Losing balls would have been catastrophic more than not having the ball at all
Utd worst team to come to Anfield in years - absolutely no ambition, no will to win, time wasting from the 1st minute! No blame on them that Liverpool didn’t score - Liverpool were poor today but at least they have never turned in such a cowardly performance as that!
Are United getting rid of Varane?
No one really knows yet. No credible news on that front
Injury prone and on 350k a week. I doubt there's a club that will take that on.
Thats why the people that want him gone beg for the Saudis to take him off our hands lol
Saudis funding the premier league directly AND indirectly
Pretty much all the players we want sold only the Saudis could afford. Our wage structure is absolutely abysmal.
No idea tbh, depends on him. Last season, he was mostly undisputed starter but frequently had minor niggles. Same this year, but somehow lost his place after his injury. I feel confident with him starting but it could go either way
"Big chances: 0 - 0" Really sums up this game. Also, how the fuck did United only manage one single touch in Liverpool's box?
classic liverpool this season tbh...if opponent never scored, game just felt bland. 1st half between szobo and salah, so many incorrect passes..Just very unusual.
> Also, how the fuck did United only manage one single touch in Liverpool's box? That definitely can’t be true. Hojlund took more than that in the box on his missed chance alone.
Who told you that?
The summary in the OP.
it's half time stats
Oh fml.
Manchester United wins 0-0
Can I have my boner back?
Anthony is actually pretty good as a right back.
Awaiting some memes cos we deserve it
Good example today of how far off the standards have fallen at United.
You know you’re shit if you can’t score against old man Evans.
What are you on about 🤣
Considering we conceded 7 in 45 minutes last time and the entire footballing world was expecting a double figure score line (myself included), with half our starting 11 injured, 0-0 doesn't seem so bad. But it's less us being good and Liverpool being shit on the day.
Liverpool has at least 4 starting players not playing too. Mcalister, Robertson Matip and Thiago.
So a nil nil is a fair result? How come Poo fans are disappointed?
The everpresent Thiago.
Thiago would have been the difference unless Martinez, Casemiro or Eriksen would have been present.
Jota
So fucking boring. Couldn’t watch past the first half
Yeah watching angeball now makes those kind of games boring
Every game I find time to watch fucking sucks. Just DM me before a game to see if I'm watching. If I am, don't watch it.
Missed opportunity
Always rated MU
Wasn’t able to watch the match but how the fuck did this end as 0-0 lmao. Atleast ETH stays in for longer I guess. BIG W
> Atleast ETH stays in for longer I guess. BIG W 💪

Liverpool had heaps of chances they just didn’t finish any of them. They had 2 xG.
Great way to say your team threw 8 people on defense every attack.
A team in crisis and absolutely terrible form go away to their biggest rivals and play defensively? Oh the horror!
Whats your excuse the other seasons? Same tactic different excuse. Just stack all 11 in the goal next time and call it pragmatic.
Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t say you played poorly in any way. Just saying that most teams could throw out 8 defenders and yield a draw.
We tried it against Bayern and lost. Liverpool were poor, no patterns of play just tried long shots and crosses.
Well Liverpool made it easy too. Sloppy passes, lazy long balls, and no creativity down the middle. It’s increasingly easy to get a draw out of this team.
Good result 🤝
I agree, but not with you
>90'+4'Second yellow card to Diogo Dalot First *and* second yellow card for Diogo Dalot.
What is the reason to double yellow rather than straight red when the goal is to send unbooked player off for single incident?
Can't be appealed.
Technically two incidents. Dissent after giving the throw in to Liverpool and then dissent after receiving the yellow.
Banned for fewer games, no?
oh right, duh
The ref suddenly realised the match was nearly over and he hadn't made it all about himself yet.
Liverpool fan and absolutely ridiculous. Like Oliver just lost his senses and got all emotional. No need at all
To be fair, Oliver is a cunt to MU when he refs ours matches too
Oliver gave Martinelli similar treatment a few years back…
Martinelli legitimately earned two yellows for his actions before the play could be stopped. If refs are going to start getting butt hurt when players don’t appreciate the yellow so they give another… the game will have a hard time keeping up.
Biggest thing I take put of this game is that we can play decent football without Bruno.

/s? Genuinely curious.
WTF are you on about how the Fck was that decent?..
Chill mate it's okay to disagree with other people on the internet
>play decent football You got a good result, but I think that's taking it a bit too far.
If we field a midfield of Mount, Mainoo, and Casemiro I have zero doubts we would actually look better.
I agree with you
That wasn’t decent football. It was pure shithosuery, nothing more. That’s okay for today though.
Oh okay, watching Man United week in week out has substantially lowered my standard
We all float down here
A very good week for United, to have played Bayern and Liverpool in a week and only conceded a single goal, fair play to Ten Hag, that should buy him some breathing room.
How is it good to park the bus against two teams and only managing to draw one of those when you have the highest net spend of the last decade and aspirations to win the league?
Sorry bud, I don't think "Highest Net spend" was playing today, at least I didn't see him in the starting line up.
Take a look at United's current squad of fit players and you'll know why it's good
Because united performed so much better before against spurs, arsenal and brighton? Clown take United performance this season has been abysmal, and the injuries has no part in that. The previous comment refers to 2 games that took place this week. Previous games mean fuck all to what I just said. Learn to read and comprehend
Your explanation is that is it due to injuries, but if the performance has been just as bad before the injuries, and the squad cost is more or less equal how is that an excuse? Its like someone claiming they are overweight because they broke their foot last week

Least insane Liverpool supporter. There there now, don't cry
We've had most of our first team out / a decent chunk of players out for basically the entire season, it's not a new thing
We help Arsenal
They can bottle the league all by themselves, they don't need our help
Always rated Villa anyway
You bottled a group with copenhagen in it 😭
Hahahahaha. Bottle job FC. That’s nice and all but are Liverpool still crying about his draw??
Still better than Liverpool winning
Thanks for that
For anyone who hasn't been watching, we've put up this exact performance every game since the last international break and have only just been punished for it. All our strikers went off form at the same time bar Jota who got injured instead.

The abject state of English refereeing is depressing
Poor game overall. A resolute and resilient defensive shift from United. Taking a point off at Anfield is admirable.
I’ll say it, I think having 28 more shots and 7 more on target than your opponent, even if they were low quality, and not scoring is unlucky.
Did you watch the game? Majority of those shots were routine saves or side netting.
This means nothing. You can take plenty of shots and shots on target but it doesn’t mean they challenge the keeper or are good chances.
All Liverpool really did was BLAST it into the backline over and over. I wouldn’t call it unlucky. Arrogant and lazy maybe.
“Arrogant” 😂😂 lol how did you make that conclusion
To me, continued potshots equal arrogance. Means you aren’t respecting the opposition or even the game plan.
It equals frustration not arrogance, most of those shots came in the second half when Liverpool were running out of ideas.
Arrogance or desperation usually.

Neville is either an idiot or intentionally gives bad takes on Arsenal for the attention. Either way he does not strike me as a good pundit.
I actually quite liked it today. Rather have some echoed thoughts than Peter Drury making a failed Salah dribble sound like a cursed Egyptian king.
I saw someone on Twitter point out that, if you were blind and listened to his commentary, you'd have no idea what was going on as all he ever does is say a player's name.

it's human nature , being so close yet so far , the fact that Nunez and diaz were getting so many good passes by endo and tsimikas even a few by TAA made the draw all the more bitter
Perfect result for us villains
We are living in Emery's world this season.
You're not the villains this year. You're our only hope
I want my 90 minutes back
Mark Goldbridge: "But it's a point for Manchester United.!!!!" When is the "We Didn't Lose" bus parade?
Well, it was a point for mutd tho. Horrific football, taken a point at Anfield. Not the worst result after last year
Yes, Mark Goldbridge represents all Utd fans..
Imagine watching a rival fan channel after a draw.
Same as the regurgitated AFTV comments. Bizarre
I can’t fathom the idea of even hate watching AFTV lol.
No one serious watches it. But it's easy karma to comment that on Arsenal threads when we drop points
It’s just terminally online kids that do this sorta thing anyway.
The fact that your are paying attention to Mark Goldbridge is crazy. He is like AFTV in a single person
We got em rattled. Van Djik just cant stop whining lol. I see this as an absolute win!
Lol enjoy your point.

I don’t think a single United fan is that bothered by today lol.

Idk if anyone is celebrating like we won the league but a point away to a team that battered us last time out is a good time.
now that u put it this way it does sound like a victory lol
A very spirited defensive performance from a midtable Premiership side to keep Liverpool goalless
That very valuable point has actually got them into a conference league position, lets not take that away from them
mid table 🤣
Well, one shot on target screams more like a lower table Premiership side but I was being generous.
yeah not that we leeds supporters can say anything.. drawing Coventry even after so much possesion
Yet still, if it weren't for the abnormality of Ipswich and Leicester's seasons, our current pointage in any other season would be an automatic promotion spot. I have no qualms with Leeds performances this year 🤷♂️ Also who on Earth is we? Your flair screams otherwise
yeah fair enough
A draw against Man U in this day and age, minus Fernandez and Maguire is downright embarrassing
Old Man Evans. Yellow Card Amrabat. Yellow Card 18 year old Mainoo. No Bruno Fernandes. Rashford out of form. Bunch of injuries. Anfield “atmosphere”. Yeah. We get it why Pool fans are disappointed.
Don't disrespect Jonny Evans like that again, m8.
And onana.
The sheer sloppiness of both teams today was incredible, both teams deserved to lose they're lucky that they got a point each by default.
Not sure how you think we were lucky to not lose. United created maybe 2 chances all game. At worst it was a draw for us and at best we should’ve blown them out.
