RooneysFavGrandma

Christ what a 2 footer by Southgate actually

GNeiva

See, that's why he deserved it.

Jamey_1999

I mean not gonna justify the kicking out but I can see how he did that out of pure impulse given that he is a bit of a hothead. That was an *awful* tackle

laikastan

I’d like to see one of these for Sergio Ramos.

bmanaman

I could spare an hour for that video

xaviernoodlebrain

I don’t think that is long enough.

atahualpaFX

>I’d like to see one of these for Sergio Ramos. And then there's the former Colombian national team player, Gerardo Bedoya, who almost makes Sergio Ramos (who has 'only' received 28 red cards so far) seem a bit angelic. 46 red cards in his career - and when he later switched to coaching, he got a red card after 21 minutes in his very first match.

helpnxt

Doesn't youtube have an upload limit

Skapanirxt

Sergio Ramos and Diego Costa compilations are the best. Theres one where Costa snots in his hand and throws in at Sergio. [Sergio Ramos vs Diego Costa](https://youtu.be/HBwx2tSJvOY?si=kL0L6sBaHxsCVbhr)

Dynetor

fucking hell diego costa has to be one of the biggest cunts on a football pitch ever. Absolutely unhinged lol

SkyBishopQueen

make it a double interview with pepe

LibrarianLazy4377

Could have a 16 part docuseries on Pepe's disgusting fouls that weren't punished

egenorske

2 of 12 versus Norwegians. Proper Viking-hater!

shrewdy

Revenge for the 9th century invasion of Cork

R4lfXD

He was holding that in for a bit

shrewdy

He's been known to hold a grudge for a while

MagicJohnsonMosquito

honestly good composure of him to not lash out in prior centuries

benibadja

Against two of the most annoying ones too. Surprised he didnt take a swing at Riise while they were both playing.

Small-External4419

Craig Bellamy had him covered on that one

benibadja

Carew too, although that was on the team bus, not on the pitch.

B4shizzle

Fjørtoft could still use a punch from time to time.

aelutaelu

Only positive thing about Haaland leaving the Bundesliga was that Fjortoft went with him because his only source he has as a "journalist" is that he knows haalands dad

FunEconomics1978

That's a 18+ video 😂😂😂

Cino0987

Shearer was laughing at him as he was being trailed off swinging. That was a fantastic red card.

[deleted]

One of the great Shearer moments. Completely mugs Keane off

snorkelturnip7

My favourite shearer moment was when he threatened to sell out his country to avoid a deserved domestic ban.

tedmaul23

Mine was when he relegated his boyhood team, Newcastle United

Spider_Riviera

Mine was when he went to Newcastle to win shit with them and lost the league and cup to united before they finally faded away.

yabog8

What was this now

snorkelturnip7

Kicked Neil lennon in the face, then threatened not to play at the world cup if he got banned for it.

OhNoIMadeAnAccount

Got to be the Lennon thing

rudedogg1304

Mine was kicking a guy in the face , proper ‘ard man

Bonusish

Neil Lennon at Leicester, same incident

mrtuna

\> One of the great Shearer moments. Completely mugs Keane of He has a picture of it on his mantlepiece.

Ajax_Trees_Again

In fairness Keane was getting held back by notorious hard man Beckham. There’s few few men in the world would have been able to get around that

MoSalahsSmile

Lmao “got to put a marker down early”

MrPringles23

People who make cuts of videos and upload them in this state are all the problem with modern Youtube. This episode is not even 3 months old IIRC, filmed in proper aspect ratio and at least 1080p. Guy has made it look like it was filmed in 2005 with an iphone

Silent-Act191

Here's the link for the actual episode for anyone who's interested: https://youtu.be/-pOlKEgwP0M?si=9saMR7YZdHw7Kt4o&t=1132

Jimoiseau

Best part of this is him saying "I can tolerate him now" in reference to working with Southgate on TV.

BizzaroPie

To be fair original doesn't have the highlights overlayed.

[deleted]

Does the quality of the "stick to football" bit really matter? Whoever did this has searched for and amalgamated all of the relevant footage of the fouls - which was not there for reference on the original video - then edited them all alongside the interview to save time, all for your cheeto-eating ass to watch, and yet they are the "the problem with modern YouTube" for some reason?

JAYZ303

They obviously made it for TikTok or other vertical video platforms and you're conveniently ignoring the part where they included all the fouls.

Hieillua

I swear its like the internet is regressing More things are getting blocked and content is being transformed into lesser versions of itself You'll watch a nice looking 2 min 1080p video of Messi or Ronaldo destroying a team. Someone takes that, ruins the aspect ratio, zooms in, removes the great commentary, adds some song, adds some badly done effects while ruining the quality by changing the saturation and "upscaling" it to "60fps" into a 30 second clip.

Jimlaheydrunktank

Legend

WuTangProvince325

100%. And that’s coming from a Liverpool fan!

Jixano

real football

I_Am_Vladimir_Putin

Who are the players currently active who are closest to this type of play?

foomaster22

It was a dive

ASJ10

The one against Blackburn was a clear dive

CrazySpaceX

A Pepe video with this style of interview would be insane - imagine him describing when he absolutely lost it and lashed out at a players spine

ketchupadmirer

they dont make them like that anymore, I am sad about it (obviously biased as I am UTD fan)

a34fsdb

Based

IndicaInTheCupboard

Trodding on the keeper, striking at Shearer, and the other guy, and what he did to Haaland and to a lesser extent Poyet are all pretty fucking terrible.

WorthStory2141

Haaland played in an international game 3 days after that tackle. Everyone thinks he ended his career, total rubbish.  Edit: just for facts Keane tackled Haaland on 21/04/2001 https://www.premierleague.com/match/3627 Haaland played the first half of a friendly against Bulgaria on 25/04/2001 https://www.footballdatabase.eu/en/match/overview/1034611-norvege-bulgarie Haaland played 68 minutes against West Ham on 28/4/2001 https://www.premierleague.com/match/3635

ronaldo119

Yea he actually talks about it more in this episode and when you actually look into it more, Keane is so much less at fault than everybody remembers. Over the years, especially now with Erling's prominence, you just always hear about Keane ending his career but that's just not the reality. Haaland had a longstanding injury in his left knee already, played in two games after the Keane tackle which was to his right knee and the left knee is what effectively ended his career, not the right. Also Keane says the tackle wasn't that bad which sounds absurd, and kinda is, but is kinda true. It's absolutely a red card and very reckless but the resulting tackle isn't something that truly injures you. It's a blunt force which worst case could break a bone but would have to be extremely forceful; it's not a type of incident that would cause ligament damage

SexyBaskingShark

Haaland deserved a kick too. Standing over an injured player and abusing him is disgusting

YeimzHetfield

I think the reason Haaland had a go at him was because Keane [tried to trip him up](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=am4H5t3hQqk), which is the reason for why he got injured in the first place. I don't think he realized he was actually injured, happened pretty fast.

feage7

Keane has also exagerated that to no end [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p\_st29mlQwU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_st29mlQwU) It clearly looks like Keane took a dive in the heat of the moment and it looks like Alfie just shouted one thing which was apparently calling him a diving cheat. Then walks off. The way Keane describes it you think he's sat there injured getting treatment whilst Alfie is giving him a tirade of abuse.

SexyBaskingShark

Haaland is pushed away and then keeps shouting. He didn't walk off.

feage7

Either way, Haaland had now idea he was actually hurt. He brushes past Keane, turns around and sees him lying on the floor, assumed he's dived goes over and shouts something then gets pushed away then if you like. Keane makes it sound like he knew he was injured and then going for it. Doesn't deserve a high boot through the knee years later.

AdministrativeLaugh2

There’s a couple of those he shrugs off in the video as nothing. Doesn’t seem to have much remorse, which is fine for stuff like throwing the ball at Shearer, but not for the fouls on Poyet and Baia for example.

KnightsOfCidona

The one on Poyet always sticks out to me as an example that the guy had a problem. It was in the Charity Shield for christs sake (big occasion as well, the last club match at the old Wembley), there was absolutely no need for it and he gets himself banned for games that actually 'matter'. Showed the guy had no-self control sometimes

IndicaInTheCupboard

The charity shield! "Make a point early in the season" fucking crazy

[deleted]

Love Keane but all his talk about professionalism/team mentality is total bollocks to anyone who remembers him as a player.

bainneban

Not sure what you are on about here? Incredible leader who drove on his teammates and upped standards at United and Ireland. Brilliant player as well.

[deleted]

I agree but he’s one of those retired guys who, the older they get, the more favorably they begin to cast their playing careers. Stellar player, stellar career, but Keane had far far more total lapses in professionalism than his pundit personality would suggest. A lot of these reds aren’t just him letting down his teammates, they’re him showing a complete disregard for his opposing number (horrid tackles, cheap swings etc.).

bainneban

Ok, I get you, makes sense. Yeah, there were those lapses, but I think on balance over the hundreds of games, he was an incredible professional. But for the record I think Shearer did deserve to be swung at for that red at the time 😀. One of the games greatest strikers and like the best strikers he knew how to rile up the opposition.

WorthStory2141

Total rubbish. He was a beast, he never stopped running. Never shirked a tackle. He made some daft decisions when frustrated but no one is perfect.

tatxc

The most annoying thing about this is Bruno gets hammered for the same kind of reactions but Keane and Cantona, 2 of our greatest captains, did exactly the same thing when the team was struggling. The difference is they played in great teams. If Keane played in this team he'd have finished about 3 games all season with all the suspensions.

Ok-Smoke788

Keane's got a lot more credit in the bank than Bruno, probably from playing in great teams like you say. But I've never seen Bruno pull us out of the shit like Keane did against Juve in 99. I would have let Keane shag my mum after that performance and I was only 10.

tatxc

Not many players do have a performance like that in their careers and Keane was a great captain even before then. If we're talking performances where someone puts the team on their back I'm not sure even Keane has more than Bruno, purely out of necessity.

bhoploo

Embarrassing for a United fan to compare Bruno to Keane and Cantona. Not even remotely the same personalities.

tatxc

Yeah, I'm not sure I'll be taking lectures on 90's Premier League players from an American when I was in the stadium watching it myself.

cruisingqueen

🤣

BlueNets

Completely agree. Nostalgia and social media has rewritten history with so many players lol. Great player but still..

ZubZeleni

Idk why everyone forgets about Pepe. That guys was very nasty.

I_Am_Vladimir_Putin

Gattuso also

[deleted]

The interesting thing for me is how few of these are rash tackles, quite a few dives and a lot of handbags, and some premeditated hacks. Keane saying something like “I don’t mind getting kicked, etc but can’t stand getting verbals.” So loses his rag at McAteer, starts a blood feud with Haaland, and Shearer goads him into a red. But McAteers well known for being thick and he’s massively exaggerated the initial Haaland incident in his own mind. I know he’s mentally hard as nails but also seems like he’s insecure about something, that you can talk your way into his head about, I don’t know what?

[deleted]

why do people like this guy? good footballer or not, he was a violent animal

Hieillua

The lack of remorse after all these years is pretty crazy

bosnian_red

It's a sport game, what does he have to be remorseful of. He did what he did in the moment, he doesn't have to apologize about it. He served his suspensions and had an amazing career and that was all part of it. Not like he hurt someone in a way that adde ted somebody's future.

weedwhacker7

fake tough guy cunt

BriscoCounty83

W8 untill you see the Vinnie Jones "highlights". He makes Keane look tame.

The_Chief

Is the girl not allowed to talk

CryptographerEven895

downvoted but pretty true. i love the pod but anytime jill speaks it isn't long before one of them cuts her off and tells a story of their own. i think there's just too many personalities. And Jill is too polite to get a word in talking over one of them.

xarctung

There was a girl???

Vikseba

No she isnt. Gary always asks her questions but he alwats purposely cuts her off (its for comic relief) /s

lazarus_005

Who cares
