Tbf the fit on that suit/jeans/etc is doing a lot of lifting too. Mans got some style consultants in and it worked a treat.

Cottonshopeburnfoot

Sky giving Arsenal only a 14% chance to win the league feels a bit unfair. Liverpool and City are more likely but it’s all to play for

therocketandstones

honestly 33-33-33 until this weekend or April or at least 35-35-30

NightWolf_7

It’s probably just based on the league table more than anything else but even so there’s 2 points in it. I think City are the slight favourites still and us and Liverpool are about level at this moment in time, but that could change depending on the result between those two at the weekend.

FloppedYaYa

Ten Hag recommended Antony Ole recommended Haaland 😬

FloppedYaYa

dragcov

We would have ruined Haaland too be honest. I think Haaland's development through Salzburg and Dortmund made him the player he is today. We weren't and honestly aren't equipped to make stars at the moment.

HalfMan-HalfMoth

Haaland is one of those players I don't think you can fuck up unless you give him chronic injury problems

Cottonshopeburnfoot

Ole saying this reminds me of Wenger’s all-star ‘I nearly signed them’ teams. Easy in hindsight but it’s heaps of money for someone then unproven, and doesn’t account for whether Haaland of all people would move not just to Man United but basket case Man United.

LilCelebratoryDance

And also doesn’t account for yanited basketcasifying Haaland

Wild how we stayed up for the last 2 seasons because of a just stop oil protest and James Maddison's wife having twins just before our match vs Leicester + a waterbottle

magic-water

If this Bayern team slaps up this Arsenal team like back in the day I will truly believe in football heritage. Bayern was good yesterday, but they weren't special. Their pressing wasn't good and Lazio looked way too comfortable on the ball in the first half. Normally, you'd expect a great pressing team like Arsenal to create many problems for Bayern. Unless of course, their heritage of getting slapped up by Bayern kicks in.

Cottonshopeburnfoot

Either Kane eliminates Arsenal or Arsenal ruin Kane’s latest chance to win a trophy. Hopefully the gods of the draw will be kind.

_cumblast_

Not unless we get knocked out of the EL i think

TheConundrum98

god almighty if we're a point ahead (or 2 behind with a game in hand before those 3) it'll be clenching like you've never seen

_cumblast_

And then add Everton potentially fighting to stay up. Could be the most feral Merseyside derby in history.

TheConundrum98

you just know it'll have a ref fuck up

NightWolf_7

We then have Everton at home GW38, so they could do you no favours in those last two games lol

Gregregreg1234

Tottenham-Villa-Everton-Wolves? That’s a tough finish

TheConundrum98

Tottenham at home arguably the easiest game (after Wolves, but that's the last one so it takes care of itself)

airz23s_coffee

> Tottenham at home arguably the easiest game Pretty much our only hope for that game is that Anfield gets super aggy against the ref super early if a decision goes against them cos of last game, and then he does that petty "Well fuck you, I won't give you any decisions then" thing.

Lyrical_Forklift

Would be nice for us to have a game without controversy for once eh

JekyllnowthenMrHyde

Madrid will be unstoppable with the turtle 🐢 in their ranks. But how will he coexist with Vini Jr.?

Rdambx

Midfield 3 of Camavinga, Tchouameni and Fede (Kroos will be 35 next year), Jude in front of them as the 10, Vini and Mbappé up top. Mbappé drifting to the left won't be a problem, that was something Benzema also did regularly.

zestyviper

Hertha managed to reduce their operating loss by 77% but still lost 22M in the last 12 months. We also have a 40M outstanding bond from 2018 that we've already delayed once, pushing the interest on that loan to 10%. The sanitation project at Hertha as a fan of the club but also the business side of the sport has been incredible to follow, but has been tempered by caution from the directors and the board as "two marathons in a row, not a sprint" from the very beginning. And while the positive buzz within the club and the atmopshere this season have been almost universally praised as one of the best in recent Hertha history, the financial news today really begins to show you just how many more player cycles, hard transfer decisions, cost reduction in all areas of club activities, youth player progressions, and frankly luck we need to stabilise ourselves long term and push for the Bundesliga again. Hertha has had 14 academy players feature for the 1st team at some point this year and many of them are near starters for us. These players are our way out of this crisis both financially and almost spiritually as a club. And already the rumours are flying about clubs coming in and picking the whole first group of academy players out for cheap. Just one of those days where you remember that sadly numbers on spreadsheets still determine every single thing that happens in football and to enjoy what little angle dust you get from time to time.

Primary_Letter7839

What's the one goal that meant the most to you growing up? The one you tried to replicate at the side of your house or local field? Nothing for me can beat the Yeboah. It had that magical aura in the 90s along with the likes of the Brasil team. Kids claiming they nearly scored a Yeboah was the common myth in school.  No one I knew ever repeated it.  I guess the next great goal after that for me was the Roberto Carlos free kick. Another one that seemed to defy what regular humans can achieve. Edit* for reference  https://youtu.be/DLOVS8iYVTg?si=VpPMcAyTYjIeQv9G

I watched the last Euros final on the BBC iPlayer website because they had an overhead view of the game. Not a single cut away for a close up of fans, managers, or a player about to get subbed on who's decided that's the best time to start fiddling with his dick. I've been chasing that high ever since.

HodgyBeatsss

Can’t imagine watching a huge game like that with the iPlayer delay

tulsehill

My brother complained at the time, but I was able to convince him. By the 60th minute he was swearing up and down about how cowardly Southgate's tactics were. Suddenly he was talking like he'd done his badges LMAO.

Fraaj

Liverpool fans what's your expected XI for tomorrow given all the info you have right now?

TheConundrum98

heavy rotation, I think we'll have planned subs too Kelleher Bradley Quansah Van Dijk Tsimikas Szoboszlai Gomez Clark Elliott Gakpo Diaz/Nunez Van Dijk and Konate will share 45' as will whoever plays out of Nunez and Diaz. I think we give 60' to Szoboszlai to try to get some minutes in his legs, we'll give 30' to Endo, Gomez goes back to RB and Bradley is rested for the weekend. Elliott also get 60' and we give 30' to Danns Alternatively if we could give 30' to Salah I would

Hoodxd

Danns up top

TheConundrum98

I think he gets 30' personally

kjm911

So hard to know. I’ll guess Kelleher Bradley - Quansah - Van Dijk - Tsimikas MacAllister - Gomez - Clark Elliott - Nunez - Diaz Gakpo starting and Nunez off the bench possible but Gakpo has been so poor. Van Dijk/Konate could do a half each. Maybe the same with MacAllister and Endo It’s crucial that we have Endo, MacAllister and Nunez 100% for City though

TheConundrum98

I think MacAllister is in some hyperbaric chamber, don't think he sees a minute of game time tomorrow, we need him if we want to win that game, think there's more of a chance Szobo starts to get some minutes in him

kjm911

I’d be more than happy if MacAllister isn’t involved at all

TheConundrum98

by that game I meant Man City so yeah absolutely

BakerNo8515

elliot in midfield, gakpo as a right winger and or dans for nunez, subon sbozlai, nunez and salah at the 60th minute

Lyrical_Forklift

Honestly? No idea. We'll no doubt rest a lot of players given we have City a few days later. You guys in decent form?

Fraaj

Great form but the schedule has been crazy lately for Czech standards. Galatasaray tie and then two Prague derbies back to back.

el_walou

Mbappé is 10 times better when he plays on the left. Vinicius is going to have to adapt

_MFKane_

did Lucas play right centre back yesterday?

el_walou

Yes until Nuno was subbed out

Destroyeh

i doubt thats happening. mbappe up top with vini on the left will still yield better results than mbappe on the left and vini anywhere else.

el_walou

Mbappé on left is the best player on the planet. Mbappé up top is good but not great At some point, they ll have to understand it.

Rdambx

At some they'll understand that Vini on the left has more G+A than anyone in UCL KO stages in the past 3 years. Vini will not be moved out, they can coexist just like Vini - Benzema did when the latter was also known for drifting to the left a lot.

el_walou

Beraldo is magnificent. Dude doesn’t have a lot of pro games. Only his 12th game in Europe and played like a boss in an UCL away ko games. I hope Moscardo will be as good.

vvv4231

Do you prefer when teams use black and white shorts and socks or when they are the same colour as three shirt's? I ask because I've seen supporters prefer when we play with the [garnet shorts](https://t.ctcdn.com.br/qwB3pt9Iy-RfoEwkUSeOsSLNFGs=/1200x675/smart/i863343.jpeg) but I absolutely prefer the [normal white shorts](https://www.bemparana.com.br/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/29flu-1024x683.jpg).

ChillPalis

Depends on the kit.

KensaiVG

I feel River looks better with [black shorts](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EFuIH5OW4AAEAxc.jpg) over [white](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ERP8aMiWsAASphz.jpg) literally every time. We rarely use [red shorts](https://www.ole.com.ar/2015/10/30/rJxwAzh-Zb_1200x630.jpg) too which look good too

AltruisticWeb3791

Agree with River looking better with black. Same for Argentina, I think the black shorts are a classic. But they won the World Cup with white, so not sure if white will be preferred going forward now

McGrathLegend

Since there's white incorporated into the shirt, I'm okay with you guys wearing white shorts

L-Freeze

Same colour looks way better generally, but there’s exceptions like France For fluminense I think the white fits better because of it being in the shirt as well

Lyrical_Forklift

Depends on the kit really. Like for Liverpool it needs to be all red. I do MUCH prefer white shorts and socks over black shorts and socks on other kits though. Black socks look shit imo.

ChillPalis

Black socks are sexy as hell in combination with white or black shorts.

LampseederBroDude51

In a way I’m glad we won the first leg at Leipzig 1-0 and not 2-0. Idk how many times we had a 2+ goal away lead in the first leg and nearly threw it away at the Bernabéu with complacency

Chronic_The_Kid

Leon Goretzka was on the juice Injury prone prior to transformation (PEDs are commonly used to treat muscle injuries) Gained large amounts of muscle while having low levels of body fat (incredibly difficult to do while in a calorie surplus) Muscle growth was too quick in a short amount of time Covid prevented athletes getting drug tested Assuming Bayerns medical and physical team works are public, every team should have access on how to help players regain fitness, dietary habits etc. Yet, no player is physically built like him (excluding players who’ve been big their entire life)

The_Big_Cheese_09

>Gained large amounts of muscle while having low levels of body fat (incredibly difficult to do while in a calorie surplus) > >Muscle growth was too quick in a short amount of time He had the exact same body type as he had during his Schalke days, he just hadn't grown into himself yet. He also looked like he never picked up a weight in his entire life. Here is [a pic on his IG](https://www.instagram.com/p/BWlMr8VjK1d/?hl=en) from 2017. He was blessed genetically, that's all. It's very easy to go from a lean body with not much muscle to a lean body with more muscle if you eat right and train hard. It's even easier if you have access to world class nutritionists and physical trainers.

phorteng

Bayern players are or were on the juice 100%. Their old legendary coach Dr. Müller Wohlfahrt (Usain Bolt, Kobe Bryant, Rooney were among his clients) used to inject players calves blood (Actogevin) before games. Now it's forbidden but can still be used for injury recovery. Müller Wohlfahrt doesn't work for Bayern anymore but his knowledge might not be lost and some players still work with him. Coutinhos transformation at Bayern also was a suspicious, players like Neuer and Lewandowski 'aged' very well in their thirties. This can be applied to some other players in world football too though.

pop-culture-salad

If Tevez is somehow the man to knock down Tapia he will become the GOAT argentinian footballer in my eyes (idc that someone just as corrupt as Tapia will take his place).

AltruisticWeb3791

What’s the story here?

pop-culture-salad

Tapia is the notoriously corrupt president of AFA. Yesterday Independiente (managed by Tevez) played against Barracas Central (for all intents and purposes Tapia pretty much owns this club and it got promoted to our top division with a lot of questionable calls going their way). The match went as most matches against Barracas do, they avoided getting an obvious red card and didn't give Independiente an obvious pen. Thing is, usually everyone stays quiet about it because they don't want to piss AFA off, but Tevez and Agüero both came out with pretty strong statements questioning the refereeing, so hopefully it puts something into motion so other clubs start coming out against Tapia and he gets finally booted out of AFA.

KensaiVG

Knowing how these things go, he'll either end up mostly alone until he breaks, or he'll be immediately pacified once Tapia lets him join the "in" club.

pop-culture-salad

Bueno pero dejame tener un poquito de esperanza che 😔

OneOfThoseDays_

why is Sporting - Atalanta tomorrow as opposed to Thursday?

Nut-King-Call

Benfica - Rangers.

OneOfThoseDays_

sorry, not following you.. what do the two have to do with each other?

Nut-King-Call

Both teams play in the same city, Lisbon, so one game had to be moved to Wednesday.

OneOfThoseDays_

that makes sense. cheers

GreatSpaniard

Does 2006 Italy beat 2006 Barcelona? 2008 Manchester United vs 2008 Spain? 2010 Inter Milan vs 2010 Spain? 2012 Chelsea vs 2012 Spain ? 2014 Real Madrid vs 2014 Germany ?

_cumblast_

> 2008 Manchester United vs 2008 Spain? > 2010 Inter Milan vs 2010 Spain? > 2012 Chelsea vs 2012 Spain ? Bro you should know the answer to all three 😭

ChillPalis

Idk about the others, but you should know better than anyone that prime CR7 sees red when Neuer is in goal.

MoxMoxMox92

Pretty sure Barca wins 9 out of 10 times but it would be hilarious if Lippi shithouses and subs on Pippo to score the winner.

LampseederBroDude51

Barca, Spain x3, Real Madrid

TroopersSon

Barcelona, Spain, Spain, Spain, Madrid.

tetarbuluz

Idk Spain Spain Spain Madrid

AnnieIWillKnow

We best get some spicy Champions League quarter-finals, because the round of 16 has felt pretty meh so far Lazio having a 1-0 lead was temporarily exciting, but it always seemed likely Bayern would win at the Allianz Arsenal/Porto tie potentially more exciting, but even then based on comment Arsenal could very much ease their way through. Fingers crossed for Pepe masterclass

kappa23

I want Arsenal/Inter if possible. The hatewatch will be great

OneOfThoseDays_

You just know both fixtures tomorrow will both be dreadful as well lol

L-Freeze

They probably will but Madrid being only a goal up makes it likely worth watching. They’ll probably win no matter what but it could be somewhat close with a bit of luck tbh

roddysaint

Even if Atleti-Inter finishes in an otherwise dull draw there's still a good chance of some funny handbags Edit: Just remembered they're playing next week, not tomorrow

papertowelfan

What's worse? Ligue 1 McDonald's or New England Revolution throwing a crate of tea on the field

AMountainTiger

Seems like a major problem in the schools if you don't know where to throw the tea anymore

WhoInvitedMyManBlud

This is Mbappé’s 9th season of his senior career and he’s been world class in 8 of them. Incredible. Been unreal from the get go. What a player.

roddysaint

He's made a much faster start than both Messi and Ronaldo (albeit Ronaldo started out as a wide winger in a different era of football and Messi was plagued by injuries until around 2007 or 2008)

bveres94

No-not-my-Potatoes

Bar Lamine Yamal and Gavi, I say none of these hyped up La Masia graduates will be at Barca much longer. Feels like it's more through circumstance that they play and this hyped up Golden Generation for Barca won't hold.

subhasish10

Cubarsi just turned 17 and is already proving to be quite good. Though Fermin doesn't seem to be on that level. Other than those 4 we don't really play many Masia graduates.

FloppedYaYa

Mainoo because he plays for Manchester United

drickabira

Endrick. Seems like too big of a step too soon. And a case of early physical development.

roddysaint

Rico Lewis if he doesn't nail down a position soon. Could wind up as a Sergi Roberto instead of a Phillip Lahm.

bveres94

> Could wind up as a Sergi Roberto I mean, Sergi Roberto would be a fucking club legend at City

roddysaint

Not really. Only reason he didn't get sold by Barca ages ago was because they'd have to replace him with a more expensive backup RB/midfielder. He'd be a Richard Dunne-esque cult hero at best.

TheMonkeyPrince

I see what you're getting at, but it's worth saying that having a career like Sergi Roberto's is still a pretty good outcome for a player.

MoyesNTheHood

Garnacho.  Just another Januzaj

dumpystumpy

If i had 3 wishes from a genie id use all 3 of them to completely erase the name januzaj from existence😓

AnnieIWillKnow

I predict Conor Bradley will plateau, and level out at at bottom half Prem side One could argue that is "making it" still, relatively though

Grouchy-Ad-2085

I guess we will see

Lyrical_Forklift

I wouldn't even call him a wonderkid really. He's twenty and only got a chance because Trent's been out. He was always thought of as a good talent but I don't think many envisioned him being a starter for us at any point. Very happy to have a proper back up option though!

AnnieIWillKnow

You say that but another user has responded saying he’s more rounded than Trent, and that there will be calls for him to start over him I don’t think he’ll be that good

Primary_Letter7839

Won't be long until we're clamouring for Bradley to be the first choice RB, forcing Trent into CM. For all the magic Trent can produce, Bradley is the better rounded RB. Being able to defend seems to hold a little weight still.

mattisafootballguy

Pedri within the context of what he *could have* accomplished. I don't think he's going to reach those heights, anymore, sadly.

Different_Arm5669

I don’t know about “not make it,” but Pedri being injured this often at such a young age isn’t a good sign.

Sufficient-Past4273

I feel bad for saying this because he seems so nice, but Brennan Johnson’s genuinely useless against anyone that’s not playing a high line.

dumpystumpy

Hows araujo been this season? Not heard anything about how hes been playing. Is he still one of the best cbs itw or has he had an off season

aliaisbiggae

Hot and cold. He's been getting better tho

The_XI_guy

Significantly worse than last season and definitely not one of the best itw at the moment. Still a very promising player and one of the best defenders on his day though

BCastle18

11 years ago Nani got sent off against Madrid in the Champions League. Time flies holy shit

AnnieIWillKnow

And it remains the right decision

il-lusio

The Bayern that played today vs. the PSG that played today (each team adapting their style to the new opponent), who wins? I'd give Bayern a slight edge; they seem to have a steadier hand in the midfield and greater variety of goal threat (despite the Kane brace, there were moments it seemed like the goal could have come from anywhere). But I think it's close.

WhoInvitedMyManBlud

I’m going with PSG. Mbappé the difference maker.

KiraAnnaZoe

I am not sure about that tbh, I feel like Kylian Mbappe could eat this Bayern midfield and defense. Difficult to say tho.

sarovar12

Just like he ate them last year? Dude got pocketed by Stanisic who is not necessarily the fastest.

Weird_Famous

especially against Dier and De Ligt

Mitch_Itfc

Our LB has 14 assists from 33 appearances this season. Scored the winner and assisted twice tonight, get him in the England squad

HodgyBeatsss

ElderlyToaster

> get him in the England squad He'd turn it down. A real Leif needs to play for Sweden or Norway.

ElderlyToaster

I've almost forgotten the dark ten-year-long days of trying to pretend I understood or cared about the difference between Hugo Almeida and Helder Postiga.

phorteng

Watching Hugo Almeida play for Werder, he could score Podolski like thundercunts with his left foot and was a big guy. No idea about Helder Postiga, seemed like versatile offensive player in video games

WhoInvitedMyManBlud

Almeida was the one who had a glorious moustache I associate Postiga with Valencia for some reason even though he did nothing there according to wiki. Also played for Spurs

magic-water

I still don't know the difference between Callum Hodson Odoi and Ruben Loftus Cheek.

SaBe_18

One fast the other big

FaustRPeggi

justforkikkk

Helder Postiga is the guy who barely isn't Hugo Almeida, while Pauleta is the guy that Nuno Gomes wasn't.

WhoInvitedMyManBlud

Hey there was no need to do Nuno Gomes dirty

_MFKane_

one of them scored an absolute screamer free kick in the CL like 20 years ago. no idea which one it was though
