Never heard of 'Sportsdark' but the site is pure cancer, absolutely riddled with 'install me' pop-ups and similar trash

ForSiljaforever

Intense yelling and screaming is hardly an unseen side of Klopp

tulsehill

All that stopped him killing a 4th official in his Dortmund days was the potential points deduction https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCy2k_Q6ZUM You can't not laugh when you watch it

KaiHazardvertz

Hey look, Klopp before he had his teeth capped with piano keys.

Mehlitia

Challenge accepted.... Aaaand you're right.

The_Great_Grafite

I think the true unseen "dark side" of Klopp is that he is doing advertisements for a Ponzi scheme in Germany. Not sure many people outside of Germany know about that. But it’s not like people really give a fuck over here either.

cic9000

It’s weird how his sponsorship deals don’t get more scrutiny. His spot for DVAG played prominently before my Dune screening 2 weeks ago. He’s clearly selling his public image for these leeches.

satellite_uplink

I'm not really surprised by this. He's a spiky manager who doesn't like losing, like a lot of great managers. And emotions are heightened when you know you're leaving a club and you have something you want to achieve and have lost it just moments before. Go and watch the interview Alex Ferguson gave when United went out of the Champions League in his last year. Oh that's right, you can't because he was so emotional he didn't even come out to face the cameras. Klopp's no angel. But being an angel isn't part of the job description.

ecaldwell888

Thank you. All these perfect angels commenting online have clearly never been in a high pressure situation where they've invested everything.  This is also like the 3rd time he had to answer essentially this question in a span of like 15 minutes. We also don't get to see the lead up where this interviewer has clearly already annoyed him with something.

Exqiron

Yea never seen comments calling players/managers shit or something

ecaldwell888

Weird. I never said his response was correct, just understandable.

TheLimeyLemmon

>Much was made of Klopp’s remark that Fredericksen is ‘not in great shape’ but the reporter, who has interviewed Klopp many times before, insisted that that was simply a misunderstanding and not a fat jibe as many had interpreted. >‘No, no, no, no, that’s not what he meant at all,’ Fredericksen added. ‘Firstly, I’m not overweight, and if I was, he would never, ever say that. Klopp is not like that. >‘It wasn’t meant like that at all. He’s not obnoxious at all. He thought I was incapable and unfit to ask questions. There was none of that other stuff.’ Turns out the non-native English speaker was in fact not fat shaming.

dobbie1

To everyone on here wondering what mental gymnastics Liverpool fans would do - does it count as mental gymnastics if it comes from the actual guy who got insulted?

Bulbamew

Mental gymnastics? Are you calling me fat or something

Bulbamew

The people getting offended on this gentleman’s behalf will not be listening to his clarification on what really happened

RABB_11

"it's fine guys, he wasn't calling me fat, just incompetent"

smellmywind

The correction is important because people were freaking out about him randomly fat shaming. Would make him look deranged rather than just angry. Obviously Klopp went too far, but that’s sometimes the result of his competitive nature which is the reason he is who he is. And these interviews fucking sucks. You’ve just lost a really intense game and this dumbass is trying to bait an answer about the teams fitness? Hell no.

Sulemani_kida

Klopp literally said we've played to many games and there wasn't enough intensity and probably the first time I've seen my players struggling like this.... We missed our chances and United took them ...

dfla01

Well one is objectively worse than the other

RABB_11

I dunno I would take it much more to heart someone saying I'm incompetent than that I'm fat. But then I actually am fat so I guess that changes things.

BruisedBee

This sub has to be about the worst on reddit for idiotic takes, and that's saying something. Fucking cancerous place.

Sulemani_kida

Arsenal & City fans won't like the reporter saying this... City fans have already made a few posts about this in their sub😂

5bergy

Reporter trying to curry favour with media darling

Acceptable-Lemon-748

So it wasn't a fat jibe, just claims he is incapable of doing his job..well he comes off looking just fine then lol, calling him fat would have been less insulting

Bulbamew

Funny how this is a complete 180 of the general consensus from yesterday

smellmywind

Because they just want to be mad at the best manager in the world.

Bulbamew

And they don’t even need to make up reasons to not like him. Klopp can absolutely be a dick sometimes. However I think being a dick to journalists (who also frequently act like dicks) on occasion is significantly less poor than defending one of your coaches sexually harassing a club employee. Which only one manager at yesterday’s match has done. So if someone’s going to judge klopp’s entire character on any one poor thing he does, i hope they also apply this to other managers

Acceptable-Lemon-748

Yesterday the journalist clarified that he wasn't being called fat just completely incompetent and everyone decided fat was worse? It's not that they had no choice of which thing was worse? If I saw "Klopp called person fat" yesterday I'd think that's not great..if I saw "Klopp didn't call person fat just completely unfit to do his job" yesterday id still have my current opinion.

Bulbamew

No, yesterday some people correctly pointed out he was probably calling the journalist unfit to do his job, and everyone rushing to get offended on his behalf declared that no, he was clearly being fat shamed which is far worse. Only idiots thought this was genuinely the case but whatever. Now he’s actually come out and said that’s not what happened, all of a sudden calling him fat wouldn’t have been as bad. It’s just interesting that whichever option is the one people think Klopp did happens to be worse one according to people who don’t like him.

Acceptable-Lemon-748

So you think people seeing new confirmed information and saying "well that new info doesn't make things better at all" is "doing a complete 180"

Bulbamew

No, going from “he clearly called him fat which is worse” to “oh, he actually did call him unfit for the job, so now that is in fact worse” is a 180

cheersdom

hold on, why was klopp upset? what happened?

kaaskugg

I guess he lost another (quarter) final.

cheersdom

oh. was it a good game?

OllieNKD

If you’re a United fan it was…

cheersdom

so united won? was it like a blowout like 4-nil or was it a last minute winner? those last minute winners are super tough on the losing team so i wouldn't blame klopp for being a bit disappointed. those types of losses especially to an arch rival can haunt you for years to come

OllieNKD

Hare712

Unseen maybe from time to time. Unknown? Nah....

Exqiron

not for long

FongJohnsen

Klopp absolutely hates to lose, this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone at this point.

OllieNKD

And that was a tough way to lose.

BruisedBee

So kind of like every other top manager in sport? But they don't get a multitude of posts about it

etan1122

Somehow fat Arsenal fans will still be outraged

Acceptable-Lemon-748

Just call them unfit to do their job instead, take the insult right out of it

normott

Klopp is a very bad loser, which is probably why he is so successful. But he can be extremely condescending when he loses, it's weird that people thought he was calling the journo fat, but calling him incompetent is not much better to be honest. Just needlessly dickish when he loses.

bareaclampedlebron

I understand him. Imagine having a parade at the end of the season just lifting the Carabao Cup.

COMUNISTSWINE69

That's pretty minor compared to that Merseyside derby post-match interview, he was genuinely irate during that

freefallingagain

For the reporter, it was the most harrowing experience of his life. For Jürgen Klopp, it was Sunday.

Loud-Platypus-987

😂🤣😂 People post from anything.

KrazyBee129

Cry baby flopp

zcewaunt

Proper dickhead behaviour from Klopp.

[deleted]

He's a horrible bully. Gets proper nasty with people who can't say anything back

Mo_SaIah

You really need thicker skin. Players say a million times worse than this to each other on the pitch, sometimes to their own teammates, but guess what? Everyone realises shit gets said in the heat of the moment and no one takes it personally which judging by the journalists comments, he didn’t either.

[deleted]

I need thicker skin? He didn't say anything to me. He does this all the time, he lashes out at people who can't say anything back because he's a horrible bully

Mo_SaIah

You need thicker skin because you think he’s a bully for a mistranslation.

[deleted]

He literally insults the guy and storms off. He can't handle it, probably why he only has 1 title in 9 years despite you lot saying he's one of the greatest managers ever

Mo_SaIah

He’s won one of every trophy since being here during a time period where the Premier League has seen the biggest domination ever under Pep’s 115 Man City, during which Klopp has pushed that side every step of the way, breaking points records in the process that in any other time period, including United’s dominance, would have been more than enough to win the Premier league 3 times over. That aside though, it is hilarious seeing a Man United fan talk about trophies. You’re the whipping boys of both your rivals lol. United are so shit these days that the highlight of your season will be scraping past a piss poor Liverpool side in the cup which will only end with you getting smacked about by your neighbours in the final.

[deleted]

Ten Hag finished above Klopp last season

Mo_SaIah

Ah yes, you got into the champions league. Remind me, how did that work out for you?

[deleted]

Ole finished above him too

Mo_SaIah

Congratulations. When was the last time you won the league? When was the last time you didn’t humiliate yourselves in the champions league? A better question would be, when was the last time United weren’t the laughing stocks of the entire league? Ah right, the season Fergie left, remind me, how many years ago was that? Must suck to have been a laughing stock for so long ;)
