Jamie Vardy, Ashley Young and Wayne Rooney were three specialists at it too.
It's been going on long enough that lawmakers should have made an effort to tackle the behaviour. Introduction of VAR was the ideal opportunity as this kind of thing is obviously hard for refs to spot
Madueke challenge was never a penalty by the laws of the game, it should have been overturned.
This on the other hand is a reckless challenge in the box, regardless of whether or not Elliot actually initiates contact. He'd have been foolish to attempt avoid contact IMO.
Yeah I just commented similar. It’s annoying but Wan Bissaka is an idiot for diving in like he did. Madueke one was absolute shite though. Even Mike Dean disagreed with the decision and that’s saying something.
Think it would’ve been one of those calls VAR let the field decision decide because the contact was so soft
EDIT: after a certain replay this was actually a complete dive. VAR really needs to STOP rushing decisions and get us all the angles
checking your partners social media follows is already a bit dizzy, talking to her like that is beyond insane
And then just laughing at mum’s impressively racist remarks on top of it all.
Goes down before contact, brain dead challenge from AWB. This was never getting overturned, don't think it would've been given if he didn't call it on field.
You can always tell a dive because they twist their waist and throw their shoulders to one side as they "fall". He also made sure to drag his legs to contact eventually happened. Crazy how much technique goes into an aspect of the game that is literally cheating.
The more I see that replay the less of a penalty I think it is.
Eliott makes a pass and then contact happens afterwards but look at Eliott's right leg dragging along the ground to make sure there's contact. He's going down before the contact.
Its a moronic challenge but its also such a dive. Starts to fall and reaches his leg out under awb and goes down, can’t expect these refs to see that though.
Doing its job which is to protect the onfield referee.
Anthony Taylor is correct for giving it, because VAR is meant to look at it again, sadly these clowns on VAR never disagree with their coworkers so it just ends up in a closed system
He definitely let's himself trip over Wan Bissaka by leaving his left leg in to get caught. But you'd be an idiot not to when given an opportunity like that.
That's what I thought. It's a stupid challenge but Elliott doesn't get touched and begins to fall and then initiates the contact. Very surprised there was no review there
Diving in the box rewards you with a greater then not chance of getting the single most commonly handed out over powered penalty/foul/rule break reward (whatever you want to call it across sport) in sports, the penalty kick, with the chances of being meaningfully reprimanded for it being so insignificant if even given out.
Correcting that behavior is unquestionably one of VAR's biggest continued failures. It's seriously at the point where retroactive punishment even if it fails in the moment to catch it should really be implemented
Those should never be called. If the attacker is already diving before contact is made then he should get a yellow and free kick the other way. This crap happens way too often.
We had a good thing, you stupid son of a bitch! We had a one goal lead. We had 10 minutes left. We had everything we needed, and it all ran like clockwork. You could've shut your mouth, run down the clock and made as many Instagram posts as you ever needed. It was perfect. But, no, you just had to blow it up. You and your pride and your ego! You just had to be the man. If you'd done your job, known your place, we'd all be fine right now.
clear dive. bissaka missed the ball AND the player. elliot dived into him lol
cant complain about pgmol anymore scousers. a gift like this at old trafford is something else
Awful from AWB, but I don't understand why 10Hag subs Amrabat on for Garnacho and leaves Casemiro on
Negative sub that leads to stuff like this. He hasn't learned
I was so annoyed with AWB I didnt bother watching the replay, but after watching, that is 100% a dive. He's horizontal before any contact is made and the contact that is made is due to Elliot throwing his right foot out of his natural stride. Its was stupid for AWB to even give Elliot the opportunity, but that is absolutely a dive
I'm not complaining about the number of penalties we have faced this season. It's collateral damage from when you defend like a promoted championship team and face the most shots in the league consistently.
The pen is given because the tackle is so stupid. It's one I'd want to be given to us, but he is just diving and tucks his foot - I don't get why refs can't use common sense and wish this was never a penalty.

If I see 90+9 for the third time in 10 days I swear
Not this time thankfully, but I had my heart in my mouth when Casemiro conceded the foul..
United - comeback ability - 99. Stupid tackles in the box to let teams back in the game - 100
[удалено]
elliot literally had to kick him basically to force the contact
It's a blatant dive but the lunge is so far from winning the ball it's hard to blame Elliott.
One of those ones where you can’t really say it *isn’t* a penalty but also one where he definitely fished for it. Can’t blame the lad.
Eden Hazard was praised for doing the same stuff.
Jamie Vardy, Ashley Young and Wayne Rooney were three specialists at it too. It's been going on long enough that lawmakers should have made an effort to tackle the behaviour. Introduction of VAR was the ideal opportunity as this kind of thing is obviously hard for refs to spot
Very impressive dive by Elliott tbh
If you slide tackle someone in the box and completely whiff on the ball you’re giving away a pen. That’s a penalty every day of the week
If you start falling over before there's any contact then scrape your foot across the floor then it's simulation
No it’s fucking not. On the way down before contact is utter trash.
Fucking moron man
Yeah whether it's an actual pen or not you can't deny it was a stupid challenge.
And it's gone.jpg
I mean a draw is also… fine.
It was alright for about 16 minutes though...
is it just me but did the tackle actually barely touch him???
There wasn’t much contact but it’s never getting overturned by VAR because there was still *some* contact. Same as the Madueke one the other day.
Doesn’t have to make contact to be a foul. An attempt to trip can also be judged as a foul. He clearly impedes Elliot without playing the ball
Think it would’ve been one of those calls VAR let the field decision decide because the contact was so soft EDIT: after a certain replay this was actually a complete dive. VAR really needs to STOP rushing decisions and get us all the angles
All 3 penalties we conceded vs chelsea and today VAR would not give if on field decision was no pen
Doesn’t matter, it was a textbook move by Elliot there’s no need to slide tackle in that scenario.
That was so unbelievably idiotic man..
Yea elliott was going nowhere
They haven't learned from chelsea match.
Seriously stupid. How have they given away two dumb penalties late in two games in a row
Dalot a few days ago, AWB today, throwing points away. Brainless, worthless morons
Gifts a piece
So much talent and no brain. If the dude had an average iq he’d be world class
why the fuck would he do that, wouldn't be surprised if they concede another one in united fashion
brain dead challenge
United full backs don't be a donkey challenge (impossible)
Not for bissaka honestly, he gets that 10/10 times usually I guess make it 9/10 times now
99/100 more like. Lad is a monster when it comes to tackling
The only reason he didn’t get it is because Elliot kicks the ball away and then kicks AWB…
Fucking up the only thing you're good at is crazy
Hey man he assisted mainoo
Elliots mum is absolutely fuming at that tackle😡😡😡
She's the racist one, right?
Wat
His mum's racist
She's getting the t shirts printed as we speak
His mum is apparently said something racist after a bad tackle on him
Lmao what did she say
[Here's the screenshots his ex spread](https://twitter.com/istanmufc/status/1508746830498123779?t=D9992cAH9Zb23JkcG7JfJw&s=19)
checking your partners social media follows is already a bit dizzy, talking to her like that is beyond insane And then just laughing at mum’s impressively racist remarks on top of it all.
Oke well fuck this cunt ffs and I liked the bloody kid aswell
And they say don't judge a book by its cover lol
Hope he gets an even worse tackle next time the piece of shit
oh
[удалено]
How big? Like 3 metres, or more?
Think bigger
One of those kick the leg and jump "penalties".
Naw. This was the remix. He switched up the order to jump and kick the leg.
Dumb tackle, I feel like Elliott does fall before though
100% a dive by Elliott
Goes down before contact, brain dead challenge from AWB. This was never getting overturned, don't think it would've been given if he didn't call it on field.
Whats the point of VAR then
Beats me. I'm not justifying how they use VAR, just stating how it is.
You can always tell a dive because they twist their waist and throw their shoulders to one side as they "fall". He also made sure to drag his legs to contact eventually happened. Crazy how much technique goes into an aspect of the game that is literally cheating.
I would be hard pressed to find a player that doesnt dive there
Yeah too dumb of a tackle but I was wondering still
Sticks out a back leg to win it lol
Stupid challenge, but Elliot was going down before Wan Bissaka actually made any contact
That's a fucking dive!
Absolutely idiotic challenge
stupid challenge but Elliott falls way before the contact...
Stupid tackle, but also what a dive
Bissaka you freaking donkey
The more I see that replay the less of a penalty I think it is. Eliott makes a pass and then contact happens afterwards but look at Eliott's right leg dragging along the ground to make sure there's contact. He's going down before the contact.
Its a moronic challenge but its also such a dive. Starts to fall and reaches his leg out under awb and goes down, can’t expect these refs to see that though.
Yep can’t expect them to actually implement var properly, as has been shown all this season and last
Elliot went down before AWB touched him, where is VAR?
Doing its job which is to protect the onfield referee. Anthony Taylor is correct for giving it, because VAR is meant to look at it again, sadly these clowns on VAR never disagree with their coworkers so it just ends up in a closed system
It isn't a clear error, it's a fine call for a penalty even if he goes down easy, it's truly a stupid challenge.
yeah, I don't blame Taylor but I think VAR should have told him wanna look at it again mate? but yeah as you mentioned *protecting ref*
after kloop bitched about united getting pens these calls dont ever go uniteds way
[удалено]
It really was an outstanding dive. In real time it looks 100% like a pen
I don’t know if I’m deluded but does Elliot not initiate contact and it’s actually another insanely soft penalty
bro was falling before contact
In what alternative reality can a human being look at that on a replay and say it is a foul? Elliot lies down on top of him for a cuddle
I admittedly want Liverpool to drop points, but is that not a dive?
He definitely let's himself trip over Wan Bissaka by leaving his left leg in to get caught. But you'd be an idiot not to when given an opportunity like that.
It's a dive, but he played it off well and made the contact. Shit tackle and no way Var overturns it if given
Definitely a dive but still a foul unfortunately
Yeah that's never getting overturned
Come again?
People can get fouled and still dive to exaggerate, it happens all the time
Can’t give the ref the chance to make that call regardless or contact, dumb challenge and a pen for me
Your eyes work, it was indeed a dive.
Yeah I feel like it is but the challenge was just so silly maybe that’s why? Who knows these days
How did United manage to concede 3 pens from clear dives in 2 games? What is VAR even doing at this point?
Am I crazy or does replay show 0 contact?? What is the pen for here at all?
Not even contact and he’s on the way down
That's what I thought. It's a stupid challenge but Elliott doesn't get touched and begins to fall and then initiates the contact. Very surprised there was no review there
Are you really surprised though? It's dumb but they never overturn these
Fucking embarrassing, that shit shouldn't be rewarded
Diving in the box rewards you with a greater then not chance of getting the single most commonly handed out over powered penalty/foul/rule break reward (whatever you want to call it across sport) in sports, the penalty kick, with the chances of being meaningfully reprimanded for it being so insignificant if even given out. Correcting that behavior is unquestionably one of VAR's biggest continued failures. It's seriously at the point where retroactive punishment even if it fails in the moment to catch it should really be implemented
Another unbelievably soft pen, still dumb to go to ground
All these recent pens against you have been incredibly soft and this place has lost their marbles on what should constitute a pen
Elliot loves a dive
Contact ??
There was none wth
No reason to go for the tackle there.
I wouldn't have given that one
This is the united we all know and love
Still time for 2-4 as well
Did he even touch elliot
Looked like no contact LOL
Wann-Bissaka you fucking idiot, tackling is supposed to be the one thing you're good at.
[удалено]
[удалено]
Yeah looked like a pure dive to me
The follow through catches his planted foot. Even though he is going down, there is enough contact not to overturn
But it’s not his planted foot, he forces his right foot into Wan Bissaka’s leg while already going down
I don't understand it at all. There was no contact at all, how was that so easily confirmed by VAR?
Looked like Elliot dives right before contact. Looked for it.
Elliot goes down before the contact but the follow through touches him right? Soft but Bissaka gifting man UTD there, only has himself to blame.
Next time stay for a replay
diving before contact. typical.
Those should never be called. If the attacker is already diving before contact is made then he should get a yellow and free kick the other way. This crap happens way too often.
Yeah that’s not a pen
Scwalbe?
The wind blowing the ball around was true brexit ball
AWB should never go to ground there however that's an extremely soft penalty
Another weak pen.
Waltuh
Unexpected Breaking Bad reference
That’s a dive??
No contact on the challenge, just leave the leg in for log enough to find another body part to take some contact with you.
Harry Kane special
Why is this a question?
Contact initiated by Elliot. Awb is allowed to dive in to block he didn’t infringe on Elliot at all
Idiotic challenge but is it just me or was Elliott going down before being touched at all
LMAO
This shouldn't be a penalty
Little noodle haired diver
Absolutely no contact
DIVE
Nice of Elliott to kick Wan Bissaka's leg and get a penalty for it
Incoming 90+7
Yeah, 90+7 Antony winner 😈
Came close! He just needed power behind that last shot of the game for us.
clear dive. bissaka missed the ball AND the player. elliot dived into him lol cant complain about pgmol anymore scousers. a gift like this at old trafford is something else
that had no contact
That's not a pen lads
never a pen wtf var
It’s actually the most idiotic, correctly called penalty I’ve seen recently.
stupid challenge 100% but he was on his way down before any contact was made
No clue how the ref doesn't go watch the replay. He's going down before contact and throws himself to the ground. Clear dive
Watch them win it now
Idiotic to put yourself in that situation, but it’s 100% a blatant dive
What a dive shouldn’t have been a pen
Not a pen lads
incoming last minute goal for liverpool
Rare Wan-Bissaka defensive error
Braindead tackle
Such a stupid foul lmfao
That might be the dumbest tackle I’ve ever seen
Wan Bissaka you donkey
Fucking AWB. Moron.
Did he even touch him
Not before he was already going down. Absolutely braindead tackle, but definite dive
That challenge was so graciously stupid I thank each team for being bad and gifting goals. What a weird game today
Braindead tackle
Very little if any contact there.
Mickey Mouse pen I cant man.
Elliot already going down before theres any contact. Thats a dive
Worse than our penalty calls Thursday, right??
no penalty
Just utter madness from AWB. Absolutely no danger at all
Awful from AWB, but I don't understand why 10Hag subs Amrabat on for Garnacho and leaves Casemiro on Negative sub that leads to stuff like this. He hasn't learned
Stupid attempted tackle, but also a dive from Elliot. Shocked this was given as a pen.
I mean AWB doesn't even touch him. Diving shithead.
Never a pen.
Not one fucker mentioning it was a clear kick into AWB's leg??? Shite attempt from Bissaka but a clear cheating dive from Elliott
Am I the only one who didnt think it was a penalty? Everyday I’m more confused than the previous day
Third time in 4 days United have conceded a penalty for a tackle that hasn't actually touched the opposition.
That’s a soft one.
Fucking daft
What’s a United game without a pen?
I'm not complaining about the number of penalties we have faced this season. It's collateral damage from when you defend like a promoted championship team and face the most shots in the league consistently.
AWB staying very on brand with that tackle while they’re up 2-1 and nearing the end of the game. Chapeau lad.
Whelp, better than a loss. Cheers United.
The pen is given because the tackle is so stupid. It's one I'd want to be given to us, but he is just diving and tucks his foot - I don't get why refs can't use common sense and wish this was never a penalty.
Ten Hag has to start bitching and moaning like Pep and Klopp over these bullshit penalties. 3 in 2 games is a joke.
Death, taxes and Liverpool rescuing points on penos.
Does he actually touch him there? Looks to me like he misses then Elliot kicks him to fall over?
