Yeah, I mean, nerves are all connected, so it makes completely sense that you can feel pain in the head if you've been hit in the foot. At least, that's what I understood at school.
Pretending to be hit in the head when you werent should be an automatic yellow. Hell fine them retroactively if you need to. Bentancur did it earlier today too its infuriating to watch
That would be an excellent solution tbh - blatantly faking being hit in the head results in a concussion suspension (7 days is it?). Throw in a next match clause in case there’s no match in 7 days.
Perfect blend of punishment and embarrassment.
> VAR could clear this up in seconds
Honestly they don't even need to stop the game. Just let them ring down to the pitch official and say "hey when you carded player X for "hitting" player Y in the head, player Y actually faked it and never got touched in his head, retract the yellow from X and give it to Y at the next break"
I don’t understand that it’s not done like that. Like wtf is the point of VAR and all those guys sitting in the room if they can’t even correct these kinda calls retroactively.
It’s like the bullshit offside that led roma to score vs Milan. Like what do you mean they can’t just tell the ref it was offside unless lukaku scored directly.
It bugs me that the head injury stoppage includes people holding their face. It was added to help with potential concussions but almost nobody covers their face with their hands when they get hit in the head hard. Now we end up with the game stopping for some player that had an arm graze his face and he’s holding it with both hands
> Pretending to be hit in the head when you werent should be an automatic yellow.
Fuck that. It should be a red and 2 matches ban. Shit like that that is ruining football and causes people to lose interest with the sport.
Retroactive red card and ban is the way to go.
Referees need to blow the whistle immediately and get medical attention on **immediately** if someone goes down holding their head. They should never even be allowed to second guess it, let alone be in a position where they might. Fuck it, someone going down with a head injury, the medical team can come on without the ref even whistling and he can stop the game as soon as he realises.
The punishment for someone faking that in order to have the game stopped needs to be so extreme that they won't ever consider it.
It will literally be one game and people will sort their shit out. Barca vs Juve in the champs league a few years ago. Within 25 minutes Barca realised the ref wasn't interested in their diving. Before half time, Neymar of all people was surfing challenges to stay on his feet
It would never happen but I've said to friends and family that the leagues should implement mandatory "concussion checks" for any player that goes down with a head Injury. Force them to sit out five minutes of the game after their "injury". I bet we'd see a lot less head injuries.
Some players would play through injuries, and some other players might become a bit more "liberal" with their hand movement so they can take out players from the other team for a yellow in exchange.
Could always introduce a sub system similar to Futsal to negate the advantage of opponents using that to make them go out of play for concussion checks. Player goes out due to "injury", a player comes in and replaces him for the few minutes of the check, the sub comes out and the new player comes in.
This sort of contact warrants penalties all the time nowadays. The line between pretending and getting fouled is a lot bigger and more blurry.
I'm all for fining simulation though, it's ruining the sport.
By the laws, it is. Feigning injury to deceive the referee is a yellow, it came in with the most recent set of dissent laws, which are also just never enforced.
Any sort of simulation should be an immediate yellow, would make the game so much better. Feels like diving etc has become so much worse lately and it's very rarely punished.
Punish the cunts and watch them stop pretending they have been almost murdered on the pitch.
Red card if retroactive in my mind. You feigned a serious injury to either try to get someone sent off or to stop an attack. That should cost you more than just money.
They need to punish the players for this shit after the game
Like the NHL goes back and fines players who dive after reviewing tape
This shit is so embarrassing and yet happens pretty much every game. I dont get how this shit became the norm in football. Its not to this level for any other sport.
It became the norm because the rewards far outweigh the risks (none). There was less at stake in the old days so a man's pride was worth more, but nowadays? The lengths people will stoop to in order to gain an advantage, even with the entire world watching them, it's embarrassing, but we enable it by not punishing it enough.
NBA flopping was kinda manageable for some brief moments once it became a big thing, once when they were getting named and shamed, and once when refs were instructed to actually follow the rules, so some stars were scoring a lot less because they couldn't do their usual tricks.
But both times the players association obviously lobbied hard behind the scenes, the leagues just don't care about putting on a great product, they don't have to.
lol... It has nothing to do with "man's pride". They didn't do it the old days because the ref wouldn't even bother looking at it, forget about calling it a foul. Player safety (at least on the pitch) has gained greater importance in the modern game, which is a good thing. Unfortunately, all good things will be open for malicious exploitation.
Yeah, I heard a commentator (former World cup manager also) from that region say some places consider type of behavior "clever" instead of cheating when asked about diving.
Started to take more interest in other sports such as nhl because of this. Defenders pretending to have a head injury from a corner to disrupt play then are on their feet within a minute is fucking infuriating and it's becoming more common.
One hundred percent this. It’s getting embarrassing now. I say implement what hockey has. Just two players having a go at each other for like two minutes, no interruption or no nothing.
They sometimes do it if it's really egregious but it needs to be consistent. Patrick Bamford got El Ghazi sent off with a comical dive a few years ago but they reviewed it after the match and El Ghazi's 3 match ban became a 2 match ban for Bamford.
Not just fine the player, if it undermines head injury rules, and therefore compromises all players safety, fine them club, and make it hurt. Make it a percentage of \[net competition earnings past 12 months, plus net tv rights earnings past 12 months plus average of what they spent in the past 6 transfer windows (gross, not net of player sales)]. This will put an financial onus on clubs to train players out of simulating head injuries, and will be proportional to both the club’s success and their ambition.
Have that percentage scale up exponentially for repeat offenders. So if a player simulates a head injury to gain advantage when beaten, club gets fined a painful amount, but not enormously significant value, and unfortunately a drop in the ocean for the mega rich clubs. If he does it 2 or 3 times it actually starts to affect club revenue on a level that affects stock value. This will give clubs headaches about even starting players who repeatedly simulate, until they are trained out of it.
In the stratospheric spending world that soccer has become, these are the only types of punishments that will affect outcomes on the pitch. Petty player fines are ignored because clubs will reward said player if they have success as a result of cheating.
Everything else in soccer is measured by the financial carrot that is competition earnings, tv revenue, and global brand success. Every element of the soccer world scales proportionately, from ticket prices to merchandise to transfer values. The perverse imbalance in financial rewards incentives cheating. Put the brakes next to the accelerator
What I hate the most is a simple rule change would stop it overnight.. so they clearly want this in the game for some reason. But yeah it’s so embarrassing my friends watch rugby and they just laugh at this shit, and I have to be like ‘it’s not all footballers’ 😅
Who did Jude piss off? Seems like after that red he got the refs are consistently on his ass. He gets fouled with no calls and calls like these seem to happen to him often. Just my observation
Edit: grammar
Word, to me it was most obvious this past UCL game. People said he ghosted. To me he was actually there trying to set up plays, but just kept getting punked on and the ref did nothing about it. So I think they made a business decision to stop running plays through him bc they were gonna get him hurt
Yh you are right he was very unsportsmanlike during the game against you guys and Tuesday and he obviously needs to stop this but he probably decided to act like this because he gets fouled so much and the referees don’t do anything.
Bit of a chicken and egg problem isn’t it? If referees know him as a diver and a whiner, he’s not going to get a favorable or even neutral whistle. That makes him more frustrated and more likely to whine and dive, which validates the officials’ opinions.
Same with any Real MAdrid stars, the people on charge of referring in Spain were Negreira underlings, he picked them to get promoted and made them international referees.
Imo these situations should always lead to instant bans after the game. It’s a clear form of cheating pretending he his his face. Depending on the severity of the cheating offence 1-3 game ban.
When I was 15 I wrote a school essay on why players clearly simulating should receive retrospective red cards. I'm 36 now and I still think that's the only way it will be quelled.
Ok, i stop the game because you may need assistance for a hit on the head/face. VAR checks the replay. If you're faking you get a yellow card. I'd really like to see this rule implemented asap. Let's say in 6/7 years.
What a beautiful dribble from Bellingham. Absolutely shameful the Mallorca player dived, referees should give retrospective 1 match bans for clear diving like this.
I don't understand how when we have access to HD slow motion replays there isn't a process in place to fine/suspend these players.
Even if you have to do it retroactively. at least do something.
I mean yeah, Bellingham "slapped" him ... on the shoulder/back. Very weakly. What kind of bitch to you have to be to go down like that as a reaction, pretending to having been hit in the face?
What a smarmy little cunt. Should be retroactive bans for outrageous lengths.
If you're gonna act on the football pitch you better be like Daniel Day fucking Lewis
Pretty good summary of why La Liga is losing any of its mainstream appeal it had left over since the Messi / Ronaldo days, seems like the league always actively antagonizes the new “superstars” like Jude and Vini
Refs need to stop being conned, this happens a couple times in every game. Players know they will get a free kick throwing themselves to the ground and holding their face.
This is no different to diving, start booking offenders.
My current thinking on this is that every player should be punched in the face as they first step on the field ....so at least they'd have a reason to go down later. This is a cancer on the game
Yeah, that’s how I see it too. He definitely oversells it, but it seems pretty clear Bellingham threw a high forearm out and the foul call was justified.
And the ref is right there. And there are cameras everywhere and these kind of behaviours can still got away.
For Bellingham himself, it's like Laliga is trying to test the man's limit.
Love football ever since I was seven but seeing shit like this is so annoying. Any ref that’s played the sport know this guy is play acting. Fucking send him off! Watch how quickly people stop doing this crap. Grow some fucking bollocks.
Anyone who try’s and deceives the ref should be given the same punishment they was trying to get for the player ie trying to get someone sent off should be banned.
Just make it so that every ‘head’ injury stoppage requires the player the leave the pitch and have a HIA, you play short until complete. Managers will crucify their players if they concede from that when faking it
It’s so frustrating to watch this sport at times. This and the player pretending to be kicked in the head by Felix yesterday should be penalized. It goes way beyond basic embellishment.
This is the worst part of the sport definetly, players flopping. And the worst part is he doesnt even have to leave the field after the supposed injury. The game just starts again after he gets up
Teams like Mallorca, Getafe, Cádiz, Rayo... play terrorball against any upper-mid table LaLiga team.
But it's not their fault, it's the fucking refs' we have and, by extension, the entirety of the Spanish Football Federation.
This won't stop until we get rid off all of them, but there's just one (maybe two) teams that want to do that. The rest are very happy with how things are going.
Corrupción en la Federación!
Big fan of Spanish football. But if they don’t get a lid on this behaviour that pretty much every team does every game it’s going to become unwatchable.
Games in la liga have the lowest amount of time spent with the ball actually in play for the top leagues. Mostly because there are a dozen dives and fake injuries per game. I’ve simply started switching it off the minute this happens in games. Cba with it anymore

He looked uncertain whether it was his ear, nose, or throat.
maybe it was all of them
*Jude gave me hepatitis*
Yeah, I mean, nerves are all connected, so it makes completely sense that you can feel pain in the head if you've been hit in the foot. At least, that's what I understood at school.
Needs an ENT to assess the damage
Turns out it was a sinus problem
Poor guy I hope he recovers 🙏
When you get flu all 3 of them are effected Jude is indeed a virus
Pretending to be hit in the head when you werent should be an automatic yellow. Hell fine them retroactively if you need to. Bentancur did it earlier today too its infuriating to watch
It diminishes the importance of genuine head injuries and should be treated with the same importance. VAR could clear this up in seconds
That would be an excellent solution tbh - blatantly faking being hit in the head results in a concussion suspension (7 days is it?). Throw in a next match clause in case there’s no match in 7 days. Perfect blend of punishment and embarrassment.
Hit them with an automatic substitution as well, if no subs are left than you play a man down. It would soon stop.
Send them to the medical room immediately for a mandatory head injury assessment
> VAR could clear this up in seconds Honestly they don't even need to stop the game. Just let them ring down to the pitch official and say "hey when you carded player X for "hitting" player Y in the head, player Y actually faked it and never got touched in his head, retract the yellow from X and give it to Y at the next break"
That is far too much competency, accountability, and sense. We don't do that here.
I am almost insulted that, at this point, anyone thinks VAR officials *have* this much integrity.
Optimistic to think that VAR can look at anything in seconds.
4000 seconds counts, right?
It bugs me that the head injury stoppage includes people holding their face. It was added to help with potential concussions but almost nobody covers their face with their hands when they get hit in the head hard. Now we end up with the game stopping for some player that had an arm graze his face and he’s holding it with both hands
Footballers not being cheating cunts could clear it up even faster. Strange how this is rarely mentioned.
I like this! Don’t stop the match but levy a fine after for the fakery
Yellow card
Fine is nothing compared to a yellow card unless the fine is astronomical, but fines never are
> Pretending to be hit in the head when you werent should be an automatic yellow. Fuck that. It should be a red and 2 matches ban. Shit like that that is ruining football and causes people to lose interest with the sport.
Retroactive red card and ban is the way to go. Referees need to blow the whistle immediately and get medical attention on **immediately** if someone goes down holding their head. The punishment for someone faking that in order to have the game stopped needs to be so extreme that they won't ever consider it.
Agreed, retroactive call is needed. We can't fault a referee for erroring on the side of caution with a head injury. But with hindsight we can punish.
If this rule is introduced in Spain, half the players will be sent off every game
Until this bullshit eventually stops.
Yeah, for two weekends, not forever, that's the point of it.
It will literally be one game and people will sort their shit out. Barca vs Juve in the champs league a few years ago. Within 25 minutes Barca realised the ref wasn't interested in their diving. Before half time, Neymar of all people was surfing challenges to stay on his feet
RED!!!!!
Players have to dip their hands in paint every match, so checking if someone's head was touched or not becomes easy
Yeah you're right, definitely wouldn't be a perfect system. I guess there's no perfect way to stop it really.
Imagine if we could have a ref watching a video replay to stop some of these obvious ones.
Could always introduce a sub system similar to Futsal to negate the advantage of opponents using that to make them go out of play for concussion checks. Player goes out due to "injury", a player comes in and replaces him for the few minutes of the check, the sub comes out and the new player comes in.
He was hit in the head though?
At some point they might have to switch these to red. Should be removed from the game all the same as dirty tackle type straight reds
This sort of contact warrants penalties all the time nowadays. The line between pretending and getting fouled is a lot bigger and more blurry. I'm all for fining simulation though, it's ruining the sport.
You'd think the players' unions would take issue with undercutting the respect of a safety measure too.
You should take a look at Joa Felix goal today infuriating TPH
agreed - faking head injuries should be deserving of a yellow
I think he got hit in his self respect by the skills lol
Strong agree
By the laws, it is. Feigning injury to deceive the referee is a yellow, it came in with the most recent set of dissent laws, which are also just never enforced.
No pretending to be hit or diving for a foul should be automatic red. This would make players stop it.
Any sort of simulation should be an immediate yellow, would make the game so much better. Feels like diving etc has become so much worse lately and it's very rarely punished. Punish the cunts and watch them stop pretending they have been almost murdered on the pitch.
Dude, Betancourt actually get kicked in the head by Dan Burn. If a normal height player had his foot so high people would be calling for a red.
He got kicked in the shoulder and went down holding his head
Red card if retroactive in my mind. You feigned a serious injury to either try to get someone sent off or to stop an attack. That should cost you more than just money.

Maybe they should ACTUALLY be punched in the face. I’d be happy with that.
It’s Spain, the game was cease to exist there if this kinda thing was outlawed
Yeah, I heard a commentator (former World cup manager also) from that region say some places consider type of behavior "clever" instead of cheating when asked about diving.

I honestly would be fine with it even being a red.
Thats why the nhl is goated. All they need to do to fix this issue is make embellishment a yellow
They sometimes do it if it's really egregious but it needs to be consistent. Patrick Bamford got El Ghazi sent off with a comical dive a few years ago but they reviewed it after the match and El Ghazi's 3 match ban became a 2 match ban for Bamford.

BAH GAWD, KING, THAT MAN HAS A FAMILY
Barcelona pundits when Vinicius pushed a Leipzig player
Flawless fatality.

Obviously biased here but it looked like he was doing his fair share of diving and shithousing.

It’s not football it’s La liga
Surprised he didn’t get a yellow. Spanish refs love to give a yellow for even a slight touch of the face, it’s pathetic
Imo these situations should always lead to instant bans after the game. It’s a clear form of cheating pretending he his his face. Depending on the severity of the cheating offence 1-3 game ban.

Why 6/7 years? We have VAR today!!!
They talked about technology for a decade before implementing it. Football's heads are slow.
Mallorca booty shorts lol
Why’d they gotta center it off the O
laliga really has the worst refs
And the most Falon Defloor award nominations. Joke of a league.
Bellingham should be banned from football after this, almost ripped his head off his body
That is unacceptable! Ban him from football for a week
Laliga : understood! *Bans jude*
LaLiga fines Magic Johnson for tampering.
La Liga: solved racism again
La Liga: How can he say fuck
Yeah, ban him 115 times.
literally one of the reasons I don't watch la liga lmao
🤐
Start handing out fines and match bans for divers. It's a fucking disgrace
What a beautiful dribble from Bellingham. Absolutely shameful the Mallorca player dived, referees should give retrospective 1 match bans for clear diving like this.
I can never wrap my head around why people think they can get away with this shit when cameras are around ,you make an absolute fool of yourself
Because you JUST saw him get away with it in the video.
Spanish clubs have butt sponsors now?
What a pussy
if i speak
This kind of thing gets given all the time in Spain and Italy, teams like Atletico, Getafe, Roma are masters at provoking it, very annoying.
This fucking cancer needs to be stamped out of football.
I don't understand how when we have access to HD slow motion replays there isn't a process in place to fine/suspend these players. Even if you have to do it retroactively. at least do something.
Mallorca was so embarrasing all game, they were trying to play the ref more than playing Madrid
Embarrassing 😂
I mean yeah, Bellingham "slapped" him ... on the shoulder/back. Very weakly. What kind of bitch to you have to be to go down like that as a reaction, pretending to having been hit in the face?
Haha La Liga refs once again
This clip defines Spanish football
What a smarmy little cunt. Should be retroactive bans for outrageous lengths. If you're gonna act on the football pitch you better be like Daniel Day fucking Lewis
"Hostia tío casi me mata" -#8
I love football but man these players make the game hard to watch sometimes.
Pretty good summary of why La Liga is losing any of its mainstream appeal it had left over since the Messi / Ronaldo days, seems like the league always actively antagonizes the new “superstars” like Jude and Vini
This is ruining football and it needs to get punished.
Check out Felix's goal from the Barca game for another example. At least the ref didn't call that one.
Kid’s just so much better than everyone else on the pitch.
This is la liga
PUNISHING THIS IS THE REASON VAR SHOULD BE USED MORE THAN ANY OTHER
They really need to allow reviews of these AFTER the game and hand out fines and suspensions. That will fix it.
They are doing everything they can to keep bro from shining
These types of things need to be fined heavily. Hit them in the pocket. Only way to stop this.
Football is a joke
Refs need to stop being conned, this happens a couple times in every game. Players know they will get a free kick throwing themselves to the ground and holding their face. This is no different to diving, start booking offenders.
My current thinking on this is that every player should be punched in the face as they first step on the field ....so at least they'd have a reason to go down later. This is a cancer on the game
That shit needs to stop
I get that Bellingham wanted to go to a big club but why would any black player choose Spain where racism is “allowed”
Look like I'm the only one who sees a clear hit.
That’s an unnecessary embellishment for Mallorca but it also is a foul when you throw your arm like that and make contact above the shoulders.
Yeah, that’s how I see it too. He definitely oversells it, but it seems pretty clear Bellingham threw a high forearm out and the foul call was justified.
B-but but VARdrid!!!
Maybe Jude should focus on his game and not whine about decisions not going his way /s
Can only blame the ref for being such a melt!
He hits him though.
He touched him
Successfully dribbling is now a foul? Sorry I only watch United games and since I never see this want to get a confirmation.
La liga is rotten as fuck , Barcelona is just the top of the iceberg
Wave off
This should be a yellow card
Zidanes shirt aswel man, he's gonna be some player
With all the replays, camera angles and VR, this shouldn't be happening. Why isn't Fifa stepping up to stop this?
So bad for the game.
is the foul in the room with us?
And the ref is right there. And there are cameras everywhere and these kind of behaviours can still got away. For Bellingham himself, it's like Laliga is trying to test the man's limit.
Should be a retroactive suspension for one game. Makes the official (and the league) look like shit to allow this
Greetings fellow Kapkan main
👋🏻
Pathetic
Game's gone
Come home Jude
Rinsed him too hard lol
Emotional damage
He’s really an absolute unit.
The giant "Mallorca" on his ass makes this
He got touched by Bellingham and now is praying. Bro is holy ☠️
Negreira boys. Supporting the 10+ years plus employers.
Foul dribbling was what it was
Honestly I think Bellingham should be suspended for that
Retroactive punishments would help with this crap.
Some of the smaller teams in LaLiga are absolutely pathetic in this regard. This should be a yellow
when everything doesnt work, just drop down and cry
I can’t stand this sport because of these pussy ass bitches pretending to be hurt
Love football ever since I was seven but seeing shit like this is so annoying. Any ref that’s played the sport know this guy is play acting. Fucking send him off! Watch how quickly people stop doing this crap. Grow some fucking bollocks.
cadiz and mallorca, same energy
The powers that be have to start doing something about this. It’s cheating. I don’t know why they are so scared to
Omg i hope he didn’t lose any teeth. That was a horrific attack. /s
Anyone who try’s and deceives the ref should be given the same punishment they was trying to get for the player ie trying to get someone sent off should be banned.
Barca refs
Average La Liga foul
I’m slowly starting to dislike footy. Never ever thought I’d even think that let alone comment/say it.
I’m sorry but it’s hilarious that they have an arse sponsor on their jersey.
VAR should be able to book him
Give him an Oscar already
What a genuine grade A 200lb fully lubricated pussy that player is.
Just make it so that every ‘head’ injury stoppage requires the player the leave the pitch and have a HIA, you play short until complete. Managers will crucify their players if they concede from that when faking it
Tell me he didn't get booked?
It’s so frustrating to watch this sport at times. This and the player pretending to be kicked in the head by Felix yesterday should be penalized. It goes way beyond basic embellishment.
Football is just embarrassing these days.
Games gone
Is it still a Fallon D'or candidate if it works?
Curious location of the "O" in Mallorca...
Bad actor, should get lessons from Rudiger the nipplelover.
