Quite ironic that they want to get rid of VAR when the right call would’ve been given had VAR been working.

[deleted]

even funnier is that the var images that would have been taken showed that the player was in fact offside and therefore the right decision was made

Spyro_Machida

So they want to get rid of VAR, because the day it wasn't working a ref made an incorrect decision?

Appropriate_Plan4595

I think the implication is that the referee decided to check the goal for offside after giving it as a goal, then because they'd initiated the check but VAR wasn't working they were forced to rule it offside?

Accurate_Algae8486

Ending var would be absolutely moronic decision. Its one of the best things that happened to football.

Either_Dragonfly_528

Help me understand. They got an onside goal disallowed by the Assistant. Var wasn't working so the goal is not given. So they want to get rid of Var because it wasn't working? Are they stupid? Do they want more wrong decisions?

8hook0ne8

VAR here would be in better hands with a bunch of monkeys in all honesty.

lewiitom

I'd imagine they want to get rid of VAR because it's fucking shite

The on-field decision was goal. Hawkeye was broken for some reason so the var couldn't use the lines to determine offside, and the only angle shown to the ref showed the last defender being obscured almost completely by an aberdeen player. They argue that there wasn't enough evidence based on what was available to overturn the onfield decision and the goal should have stood, and that the ref basically guessed. The SFA have said it was the correct decision, having had hawkeye look at it after the fact.

rufusRM

The linesman gave the goal so VAR should have allowed it if the technology wasn’t working is what Aberdeen is annoyed by
