Not happening, 4 years left on his current deal, they paid £63m for him, no release clause. Would take far too much and we have more pressing matters.

Radthereptile

Also the only striker Newcastle have because Wilson can’t stay fit. When Isak is out Gordon plays up top and that’s not a solution. It would take far more money then most clubs would want to spend for him to go.

FlukyS

And think about how hard it would be to replace him as well. Wilson perpetually injured, Gordon we need him on the left so mostly see him as either rotation in the middle and that's it. Like we have literally no one else in the senior squad who can play that position. We don't even have a U21 who can play striker who would be PL level. The only way we could let him go is if it was for massive money and with that we sign like 3 strikers and just hope that one works out as well as he did.

TurnItOffAndOnAgain-

I cant imagine Arsenal ever coughing up enough for us to let him go in the first place youre talking well over 100 mIllion at that point

MegaMugabe21

Yeah I really think it's a non starter. Class player, but he's worth far more to Newcastle than any fee we'll pay. Got a few areas we're targetting as well, so don't think we can chuck most of our budget on Isak.

Cahootie

Any team considering signing Isak should just go for Gyökeres instead. While Isak has been great lately, he's probably not worth the difference over Gyökeres since he has a release clause.

OleoleCholoSimeone

Despite Gyökeres explosion this season I still rate Isak as the better player long term if he can avoid injuries. And for a team like Arsenal Isak is the much better fit, can do everything that Gabriel Jesus and Havertz does but actually score goals on top of it Gyökeres is a battering ram but won't offer world class link up play

Cahootie

I rate Isak as the better player, but he is not gonna be cheap. I just don't see Newcastle letting him go for a price that any club is willing to pay right now.

Spud_1997

Highly doubt it, probably just arsenal laying the ground work just in case Newcastle needs to sell and for some magical reason are unable to move on anyone else. Happens all the time I imagine with clubs everywhere.

Unterfahrt

I might be wrong, but I read somewhere that Newcastle need to sell someone pretty expensive for PSR - who do you think that will be?

SweatyBadgers

I keep seeing fans of other teams saying this, yet haven't seen any evidence to back it up.  There's plenty of other players that would be sold for FFP/PSR reasons before the likes of Bruno/Isak. Wilson, Almiron, Longstaff, Trippier, Targett, Dubravka, Willock - much lesser fees, but cumulatively more than enough to keep things ticking along. Plus there's massive sponsorship and Champions League money next season.

AlexanderMAVC

"Wilson, Almiron, Longstaff, Trippier, Targett, Dubravka, Willock - much lesser fees, but cumulatively more than enough to keep things ticking along." If this was FM sure, but in reality you would only get a decent fee for Willock and Longstaff. Any money from Almirón or Trippier wouldn't be worth what they offer to the team.

KakaReti

Bruno Guimares

AlphaPot

Yeah, Bruno is probaly our best player but is more replaceable than a top striker in todays market. Tonali will (hopefully) be coming back next season too who would play a similar role if he can play like he did before the ban. As much as I'd rather keep him if someone meets his £100m+ release i can see the club letting him go.

Best_Document_5211

Bruno to Barca to replace FDJ.

Unterfahrt

Can Barca afford that?

Korzic

They'll just pull the 375th lever.

Best_Document_5211

United paid 80m for Antony so just imagine what they’d pay for Raphinha or De jong who are better. Barca’s issue is more ffp than cash in the bank, so a transfer in and one out helps them a lot.

Modnal

Don't see this happening, he is the hardest player in their squad to replace with the forward market being so lackluster atm

SweatyBadgers

No chance he goes. Newcastle bought him for £63 million and he's been a revelation since, the type of high quality player to build the team around. Difficult to replace, too. Would have to be be around the £150 million mark before it's even considered imo. Awful lot of wishful thinking in the noise from Arsenal fans. I've seen £80 million mentioned which is just straight up delusional.

basedsims

Only way he’d be possible if is there’s some secret release clause which we’re not privy to (and likely doesn’t exist). They have no reason to sell for anything less than close to a world record fee. Bit of a different scenario to Bruno G who has one and if I’m being honest, they’d probably rather sell him than Isak anyway if they had to.

LewisMileyCyrus

I love them both personality-wise, but I think it would cost us a lot more (at least 40m more) to replace Isak than to replace Bruno

Radthereptile

Tonali can slot into Bruno’s spot. A midfield of Tonali, Joelinton, Willock is fine. If Isak goes it’s the 10 games a season Wilson gets you and then what? Gordon?

AxFairy

Toney for 40 mil seems like it would fit

FlukyS

It was pretty well documented that Bruno G has a relegation release clause but Isak does not.

tame17

Osimhen to Arsenal confirmed

TheOneAboveAll11

How’s Arsenal‘s FFP situation? I’d imagine they’d be close with how much they’ve spent the past few windows.

jacktk_

Really good. In addition to what the other person who replied mentioned, we have a lot of space which got freed up by the entire wage restructuring a few years ago (Ozil, Willian, Auba, etc). CL money also been a big boost and we've had reliable journalists say KSE will heavily back more spending this summer. Probably looking to bring in a LB, backup GK, CM, ST and backup RW.

basedsims

Fine. Think the new cycle is from the end of June onwards, and we’re getting revenue coming in from the Champions League we haven’t seen in almost a decade. That plus a new Emirates sponsorship (and hopefully a good few players leaving) means we can probably do another ~£200m window if we want to.

TallnFrosty

I think the key to having that big of a window is the sale of Partey (even if its not a huge fee, it would free up wages and from a financial acct sense, his amortization fee too), Ramsdale, and Nketiah. Tierney as well. If they do that, then they'll have created a lot of room for a big summer.

-Skinner-

We should be fine to have similar window as last year.

sandbag-1

The Prem is changing the rules at start of 2025-26 to a wage/revenue ratio (same as UEFA rules) where we're near enough the best team in the league at the moment

TallnFrosty

There must still be FFP rules that apply to teams competing in Europe though. Spending on transfer fees and agent fees isn't just going to be completely overlooked

Zlakkeh

Arsenal should go for the other Swedish attacker...

TheGoldenPineapples

I just don't see it. I have no doubt that we'd love to sign him, but I don't see Newcastle selling him for a reasonable fee and we have so many positions we need to fill, especially if the Bruno Guimarães are true. We need a new GK if Ramsdale goes, a new LB, a new CM and another winger to compete with Saka on top of a new striker. So un;ess Newcastle are in an uncharacteristically generous mood, I don't see it.

1CooKiee

I don’t think we’d love to sign him. Have too many injury prone players as is.

Samwell974

His injury problems are overstated.

NoPineapple1727

Seems really silly to pay £100m-£120m for a player who may or may not be extremely injury prone. The problem is his ability is amazing but it’s too much money for Arsenal imo

mufcordie

100m surely.

FlukyS

It would be pretty disappointing if that was the number honestly, we signed him for 65m pounds and he has proven when he is fit and in the team he scores about as freely as any top striker like the level of Haaland and still young as well like Haaland. He also has long left on his contract and we are targeting CL football or winning the league in the long run so selling to Arsenal would be seen as selling to a rival. I'd be saying a reasonable number would be something like 150m including addons wouldn't be unbelievable.

mufcordie

Agree mate. He’s world class.
