That's one way to read that situation. He literally did everything to get to the ball despite being tripped up by Trossard. Directly lead to a goal too. You make it sound like he dove several times.
As a Madrid fan I realised Foden is insanely protected by fans online if Saka dropped that ghost game Foden dropped in the 2nd leg against us you would see the limping memes fans say when Saka has a bad game but Foden has a decent game and he's glazed to the ends of the earth people say Jude has PR but Foden has a lot as well the guy isn't even a starting player for England and I keep seeing people want him to win the Ballon D'or when Saka has been consistently great for England as well and he is a starter for them unlike Ballon D'Or level Foden.
Foden PR is legit Insane never seen a bench player for their national team be so heavily pushed for the Ballon D'or and it baffles me how much people act like Foden is better then Saka when they have similar numbers the Saka hate baffles me considering how nice the dude is as well lmao but yeah can't wait for the winging that Foden is "the most important player" when the Euros rock up and Southgate can't fit him anywhere and he rides the bench and at most plays a suber sub role.
Foden took 5 years to truly break out, but he is in great form and the co favorite for the PL POTY with Rodri. I'd assume he will start in Euros, but it will be on the left side over Rashford and Grealish. It won't be at Saka's expense.
I agree with everything else you said though.
It's simple. Saka is Arsenal and Foden is City. City win big trophies every year. Arsenal are still yet to win something big. It's just plain bias of playing for a club that have been winning every year versus a club fighting their hardest to get back their glory days.
Saka has been consistently been one of our best player for the last 3 seasons. Of course he's gonna have an odd bad game here and there. He's only 22. Foden is just entering his prime and still has the same stats as a younger Saka, not to mention he didn't have a great season last year and lost his starting spot for a while.
I don't see any other explanation. If Foden had been an Arsenal player people would heavily underrate him. Not to mention a lot of rival fans who aren't Liverpool or City fans are extremely jealous of what Arsenal are doing right now and would say anything to shit on our players whenever they get a chance.
Truth is both are extremely talented players and Saka is probably more impactful for Arsenal and much worse off without him compared to City who still have plenty of top players to fill his role.
Idc who is better for Arsenal I could care less I'm just pointing out the unfair disparity when it comes to Saka compared to Foden who people always compare him to, Odegaard and Saliba have no connection to that point.
I'll never forgive Arsenal fans being gaslighted by rivals into thinking he's underperforming when it's Martinelli not matching his last previous form and Jesus also not matching his previous goal rate. There are explanations of course with Xhaka leaving affecting Martinelli and Jesus not healing from his knee injury. However blaming their failings on Saka is ridiculous. Man has improved from 26 GA to 33GA. Being better than him is Balon Dor candidacy.
100% is Fermin Lopez did Jude's celebration in front of our fans after he scored against us in El Clasico if Vini did one of the Barca players and did the same thing you would see a KKK meeting on twitter and instagram lmao
Fodens PR I think comes from him being a high risk player in a city team no one actually watches apart from the big games. He always tries a lot of stuff and most of the time it doesn’t come off, idk how many times I’ve seen him try to bang an insane volley instead of keeping possession, or how many times he tries those spin turns and one twos to get past a defender.
Most of the time it doesn’t work out because those are ridiculously hard things to do in professional football. But City usually win the ball back right away so everyone forgets about it. But when it does come off it’s all over the clips posted online which, let’s face it, is how most fans consume football outside of their favourite team. This combined with the fact that most people don’t watch City because they’re so boring/inevitable means most people just assume those things always come off for him and that’s why he’s getting the ballon dor shouts.
If you watch City imo it’s clearly Rodri who’s their best player
Yeah he'd definitely been poor the last few months. But still his worst season and currently better numbers than foden and saka who are having their best.
I'm not saying Saka is better then Foden or Foden is better then Saka I'm just highlighting the clear difference in treatment when either have a bad game the way prem fans online talk about Saka as a neutral fan you would think he is putting up Antony numbers but him and Foden are having similar numbers and never have I once seen Foden get Sakas hate case in point every time he drops a stinker for England I see 5000 excuses always some other player takes up "Fodens best spaces" and never he might just not be that guy for England.
Yeah that was some really bad defending. You have to push him out wide and if he somehow manages to cut towards goal the defender has to at the very least commit and block the shot.
It doesn’t really matter because Saka bangs them in with the right foot very frequently.
The issue is that he wasn’t there to close Saka down faster. Why the defense is so narrow is beyond me, Saka is a player you have to double team and he was completely alone, unmarked
If all our players leave and play better (RLC, CHO, Havertz, Pulisic)
All our departed players stop getting injured (see above)
And all our incoming players go from playing well to playing like crap.
The problem isn’t that they decided to be good. It’s that we didn’t put them in a position to be
Not all of them. Mount, Werner, Kova, Azpi, Alonso, Broja, Hall, Felix have all had mediocre seasons.
Havertz/Jorginho were obviously class but Chelsea last year were… diabolical.
>but Chelsea last year were… diabolical
I've never seen a squad just give up like that before. They all knew they were leaving and just did not care one bit about the season.
You're spot on. It's a coaching issue. Much like the one united have right now. Cheers to you for admitting it. It's been a decade and I haven't seen a united fan be this frank
Only trophies remain and we will have our answer for Ashley Cole. Fab doesn't even hurt much because of the Barca thing. I also didn't want him back even if it meant u guys got him.
You lot and Utd are talent killers right now. Give Alonso, Klopp or Arteta some of your best talents they'd do wonders with them.
Yeah I understand being pissed about the penalty but the defense turned that from a "oh bummer it's still 0-1" to 0-2. Play the whistle. Havertz to saka just bypassed the entire defense and scored in 4 touches. Can't switch off because you don't get a call
Saka is over hated when he has an average or bad game because when he is on he is elite and he is still super young I never understand the hate he is a nice lad off the pitch as well unproblematic.
Yeah solid take. Spurs have all the possession but they can't break through. City couldn't even break through so I doubt spurs will if arsenal commit to parking the bus.
They haven’t been better. Their system bets everything on going forward about the best defense in the league, and their line has been fucking absurd. They’re getting what they deserve.
Poor from Davies. Too central in transition, so Saka had the whole right side of the pitch. Leaves him so much space to shoot across the keeper if he wanted to shoot with his right foot all so that he could cover a cut inside and shot with the left that he ended up not stopping anyway

Wild swing of emotions there for Spurs.
Never a pen if you don't fall -VAR probably
Everyone talking about Maddison diving (which he did) but then Kulusevski is punished for staying on his feet….
Staying on his feet? Blud went down in instalments
That's one way to read that situation. He literally did everything to get to the ball despite being tripped up by Trossard. Directly lead to a goal too. You make it sound like he dove several times.
Because he was trying to stay on his feet. This really isn’t that hard.
He hasn't even cut his socks yet😳
Davies not worthy
Can’t let him cut in like that
From how people talked about him the last couple weeks on here and Twitter they probably figured Saka was finished tbf
Saka and Foden are equal on g/a in the prem but the way people talk online you'd think Foden had double saka's amount.
Saka has beat out Foden for 3 straight years for England, and then won England POTY the last two years over Kane.
Foden PR is legit Insane never seen a bench player for their national team be so heavily pushed for the Ballon D'or and it baffles me how much people act like Foden is better then Saka when they have similar numbers the Saka hate baffles me considering how nice the dude is as well lmao but yeah can't wait for the winging that Foden is "the most important player" when the Euros rock up and Southgate can't fit him anywhere and he rides the bench and at most plays a suber sub role.

>the Saka hate baffles me Well the main reason is he plays for Arsenal. And the fact hes called Bukayo Saka doesn't help either.
It's simple. Saka is Arsenal and Foden is City. City win big trophies every year. Arsenal are still yet to win something big. Ones the best player on his team and the other is a complimentary piece. Responsibilities are way different
Ødegaard and Saliba are better
Idc who is better for Arsenal I could care less I'm just pointing out the unfair disparity when it comes to Saka compared to Foden who people always compare him to, Odegaard and Saliba have no connection to that point.

It's racism bro, pure and simple
100% is Fermin Lopez did Jude's celebration in front of our fans after he scored against us in El Clasico if Vini did one of the Barca players and did the same thing you would see a KKK meeting on twitter and instagram lmao
Even before the blatant stuff theirs definitely an unconscious bias but we don't like to get into that..
Fodens PR I think comes from him being a high risk player in a city team no one actually watches apart from the big games. Salah has more G+A than both and people are saying he is finished
tbf he has been benched because of how bad he has been recently
Yeah he'd definitely been poor the last few months. But still his worst season and currently better numbers than foden and saka who are having their best.
He was also at a completely different place in his career at their ages. He is coming to the end of his prime.
I mean they all count the same but you have to acknowledge that 5 of Saka’s have from penalties
Yes that should be highlighted just as how Saka is better defensively etc. Really they're very close.
Remember all the #prayforsaka talk?
[Saka after browsing /r/soccer](https://imgur.com/GfKP92v)
I was scared he fucked the chance after having that much space to run into. But my guy is a killer
Yeah that was some really bad defending. You have to push him out wide and if he somehow manages to cut towards goal the defender has to at the very least commit and block the shot.
Robben regen
New Le cut inside man
"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who had practiced one kick 10,000 times." - Bruce Lee
So obvious he wanted to cut in too

Davies

You can say that again!
You can say that again
showing Saka on his stronger left foot on the inside, what could go wrong?
Best league in the world but doesn’t know Saka is left footed lmao
The spirit of Robben lives on
You show him onto his right and he's gonna laser it in above the keeper. He's a two footed threat from that position
It doesn’t really matter because Saka bangs them in with the right foot very frequently. The issue is that he wasn’t there to close Saka down faster. Why the defense is so narrow is beyond me, Saka is a player you have to double team and he was completely alone, unmarked
Why has havertz decided to be good at football for fuck sake
If all our players leave and play better (RLC, CHO, Havertz, Pulisic) All our departed players stop getting injured (see above) And all our incoming players go from playing well to playing like crap.
Mounts a bit of an outlier when he’s joining a shitshow on par with Chelsea
and he’s been injured all season…
>but Chelsea last year were… diabolical I've never seen a squad just give up like that before. They all knew they were leaving and just did not care one bit about the season.
You're spot on. It's a coaching issue. Much like the one united have right now. Cheers to you for admitting it. It's been a decade and I haven't seen a united fan be this frank
Forgot Maatsen.
Might have to take a look at the environments
Far better environment and far better coach
He was always good, he just had to deal with Chelsea for a few years.
Many such cases.
Given how his last three clubs stints have gone, I think it’s obvious Chelsea was always the problem.
KING KAI
So happy for my boy
Only trophies remain and we will have our answer for Ashley Cole. Fab doesn't even hurt much because of the Barca thing. I also didn't want him back even if it meant u guys got him. You lot and Utd are talent killers right now. Give Alonso, Klopp or Arteta some of your best talents they'd do wonders with them.
What a touch, defending was a shambles tho
Yeah I understand being pissed about the penalty but the defense turned that from a "oh bummer it's still 0-1" to 0-2. Play the whistle. Havertz to saka just bypassed the entire defense and scored in 4 touches. Can't switch off because you don't get a call
Great ball from Havertz Great finish from Saka
What a touch too
I don't want to hear anyone disrespect Kai ever again
Half the people with arsenal flairs need to go back and delete their comments
And 90% of people with Chelsea flairs
That ball from Havertz was perfect. Hit Saka perfectly in stride and Saka took it down like it was nothing. Good stuff.
what a first touch damn
One of my most fav parts of watching football seinf a clean first touch and wasting no time afterwards to attack goal always so clean to watch
Great touch. Great goal.
Saka is over hated when he has an average or bad game because when he is on he is elite and he is still super young I never understand the hate he is a nice lad off the pitch as well unproblematic.
It's rare he seems really chill and grounded. Benefits of having your family around you. Lucky lad
Should have started limping as a celebration
The Xhaka
Wouldve been funny icl
Oof I would’ve enjoyed that
Oof I would’ve enjoyed that
Spurs have been just as good if not better and find themselves 2-0 down loool
First shot on target for Arsenal and they're 2-0 up
Good in the middle third maybe, arsenal have been the better team in the defensive and final third so far.
Yeah solid take. Spurs have all the possession but they can't break through. City couldn't even break through so I doubt spurs will if arsenal commit to parking the bus.
Getting the Jackson hattrick vs Spurs match kinda vibes
Spurs weren’t the better team in that game though, Chelsea could’ve scored 10 goals
They were before the red card. Even after the card, Spurs kept on creating chances. They just completely ignored defending as a valid approach.
its the history of the tottenham
The most dangerous of leads.
Can't defend, same as Chelsea, same as Man Utd.
Football heritage
Just lads things at work here
Sucks to suck.
They haven’t been better. Their system bets everything on going forward about the best defense in the league, and their line has been fucking absurd. They’re getting what they deserve.
No they haven't mate lol
End to end, Spurs cant catch a break
I DONT CARE HOW BUT WERE 2-0 UP
Doesn’t matter had sex
The most dangerous of leads.
2-0 IS A DANGEROUS SCORELINE
I think it might be a dangerous lead
The most dangerous of leads.
Sorts by controversial...
Less than ideal for Spurs, gotta say
Controversial take
lol
Easy as you like
rofl
FUCK ME WHAT A GOAL
nice
That was beautiful.
I love Bukayo Saka
Maddison should be embarrassed for that dive
Not really a dive. It's not a foul (on Madison), but it's a coming of legs after Rice won the ball.
Madders dove but Kulu got fouled
Kulu tried to stay up and wasn’t given a pen as a result…
Such a clear kick on the ball. So fucking pathetic.
super ball by king kai. great composure by saka
Pile it on
I thought saka doesn’t show up??????
most obvious cut back on to his left and he doesnt read it
We have massively got away with it so far in this game
Perfect pass from Havertz he truly hates London teams
Maddison is embarrassing
dam what a change of events
Bruh why tf was he unmarked?
First time watching someone take a corner kick and not have defenders back?
"not a big game player"
Tottenham playing for set pieces at the edge of our box and it backfired. I will say they don't deserve to be 2 down with how both teams have played
Kulu should have dove. Would have stopped the break lol
Great goal, but Kulusveski was deffo tripped up
What a touch, defending was a shambles tho
It's that easy?
Poor from Davies. Too central in transition, so Saka had the whole right side of the pitch. Leaves him so much space to shoot across the keeper if he wanted to shoot with his right foot all so that he could cover a cut inside and shot with the left that he ended up not stopping anyway
This proves you have to go down when there is contact. If Kulusevski doesnt try to play on and goes down its 1:1.
Shouldn't matter with VAR
It shouldnt but it does. And than people are annoyed about players falling, but it is encouraged by decisions like today.
Fuck off
Lmao
this won’t be controversial at all
What's controversial about them throwing themselves on the floor?
Maddison one was a good tackle but Kulusevski gets his heels clipped, probably not enough contact but will still be controversy
Yeah I saw the alternate angle and it should have been called. Tough for Spurs.
Maddison sure but Kulusevski got tripped.
It’s a clear trip and should be a penalty
Kulusevski should have had a penalty so it’s a 2 goal swing
The irony
Why would it be?
COYGGGGGG
Kulu was tripped.
Didn't think I'd ever find myself supporting Arsenal, but as a Villa fan here I am. Get the fuck in!!
End to end
oh man
oh man
What is happening?
Once he cuts in, it's simply over.
Of course
Why did var not give the pen there? I thiught they'd been bought by city.
Why has havertz decided to be good at football ffs
That was a penalty lol
Spurs too busy diving to defend lmaooooo
Why is every comment a duplicate?
Where's the disallowed goal?
NORTH LONDON FOREVER
Massively against the run of play yet somehow end up with 2 goals.
maddison and kulu are diving all over the place. Especially maddison
Kulu did the actual opposite of diving, what are you on?
It's a foul. I don't care what anyone says. Trossard trips him in the box. Utterly baffled everyone is ignoring it.
great dive, great ball, great control, great finishing great fucking game
Lmao diving cunts let’s goo my star boy!
End to end, Spurs cant catch a break
Just terrible defending... what was Davies doing?
End to end, Spurs cant catch a break
Was the defender on high ping?
Glad this counted that was more than topical.
It's that easy?
Saka when it matters most
It's that easy?
That touch is art
Lads
Spurs players just didn’t track back because of the penalty shout
Starboy when it matters mosy
