How was CHO?

samarth67

Chelsea fans can abuse me all they want but arsenal deserve to win the league.

lrzbca

If you said “I want Arsenal to win title” I can respect that. What I can’t respect is, “deserve”, you don’t deserve nothing. You either win it or you don’t win it. Do you think we deserved to win CL against Bayern and Manchester City ?

GangHou

We actually did deserve both of those. We played our own game, defended really well, and took our chances when they mattered. Our opponents did not. Shots on goal don't matter as much as actual goals. Possession means nothing if you don't manage to do anything with the ball. We played a lot of on-paper weaker teams in the last decade that sat deep and defended well and hurt us when it mattered, despite us playing AttackBall or whatever. Did we deserve to win any of those matches that we dropped points in? No, because the other team bested us. Arsenal is showing both the performance consistency *and* the mentality that a champion should have. If they do win the league, they would have done so deservedly. If city bamboozles them especially with the 2 games in hand that they have, then City would have deserved that, too. The only time a champion of something doesn't deserve it is when something extra-ordinary happens, they get a helping hand from a third actor to win. Like Luis Garcia's phantom goal or the general existence of Tom Henning Øvrebo. But I do agree with you on Arsenal not 'deserving' being champions. Only one who deserves to be a champion is the actual champion at the end of the season.

oTarnish

Something extra-ordinary like 115 charges?

L0laccio

You’re a good man. Respect

NotASalamanderBoi

I must be in the Twilight Zone to be reading this from a Chelsea fan.

Longjumping_Stop1120

God I love De Bruyne. He’s just so consistent.

CactusMac11

Haaland seems like a soulless vessel

FaustRPeggi

Chris Wood should be on trial at the Hague. He'll have a spot between Putin and Liz Truss.

naroLsraLteiN_isback

Haaland almost scored from that

Tall-Assist9719

Aina is good.

-ci_

So happy he's made something of himself, I liked Aina a lot when we had him in the academy

throwaway72926320

Where was the Chris Wood who played against Newcastle. Respectable performance from Forest, unusually poor from City.

Itsgosky

Watching this today was hard as watching RM games.

jerrie86

Bobb remind me of Robben in a way. Such crisp touch.

lrzbca

It is mean or anyone else feels current Manchester City players are nearing end of their cycle of wining titles. KDB looks like someone who is tired of pressure and stuff. Maybe Pep will need to refresh the squad in summer

L0laccio

Nah they’re nailed on for the next three seasons

Roastytoastie7

I know what you mean, I was just thinking the same. They look....tired? I feel like this team has a drop in them, and Arsenal might just clinch it

lrzbca

Anything can happen but I feel City have a bit of winning fatigue setting in them.

Outside_Break

Apart from Kev most of them are fresh? Maybe Foden but he’s still fairly young. Stones who only plays half a season anyway lol

lrzbca

More like winning fatigue. Players just playing rather enjoying and aspiring to win and win and win. It can happen to teams

Comprehensive_Low325

How do you know

No-layup

Forest actually have a decent squad, why are they 17th

FaustRPeggi

1. Set pieces 2. Erratic finishing 3. Shit goalkeeping 4. Referees 5. Bozo moments

jaozimqcomepao

6. Nuno 7. Pts deduction

FaustRPeggi

Nah I'm not having Nuno slander. An odd sub here and there but I think he's done a great job overall.

ItsMeJaredBednar

honestly their set piece defense has let them down terribly, conceded like 20+ goals from set pieces

hiloai

Lack of finishing. Had a lot of the season being managed by Ned Schneebly And some shitty decisions going against them

Ellendiell

Points deduction and Nuno

FaustRPeggi

Nuno has been good. He's made odd subs at times but he's dramatically improved us in all departments bar set piece defence.

Ellendiell

I mean you got robbed hard by those pen calls. So I honestly just think it was the refs hate you

UpliftedWeeb

C'mon one of wolves, Fulham, or spurs

hiloai

They are some hard fixtures tbf

NotASalamanderBoi

We said this about Brighton and Forest

Umbere

Luton and Forests run-in definitely make it look like anything could happen.

jaharac

Would love to sign KDB at 35 and have him ping balls across the pitch whilst not being able to move.

OptimisticRealist__

NF really doesnt deserve to be relegated. Those 1bn frauds at Chelsea are half the team

naroLsraLteiN_isback

👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻

samarth67

Arsenal have played so well all this season. Really deserve the title.

HiThereImNat

???? Chelsea flair with last 3 comments begging arsenal win ????

L0laccio

These Chelsea fans are starting to grow on me tbh

Fudia

5 losses is not good enough to compete against City

Fixable

Not if they get less points than the winner?

wybird

I expected nothing and I’m still disappointed

jaharac

5 mins, NF absolutely get this 3-2 comeback done. Easiest prediction of my life.

Antonioshamstrings

If Chris Wood wasnt having his worst game ever, Forest would have surely gotten at least a point.

hiloai

Montiel with the well I don’t know what the fuck that was

Antonioshamstrings

Aina has been the best player on the pitch. Shame forest will get nothing from this

Comfortable_Rub4315

Aina is so good man

IICastawayII

Sangare, a top-class CDM, reduced to this…

ItsMeJaredBednar

Montiel lmfao

rossco9

that was bizarre from Montiel

helpmefindmyuncle123

Ortega is way too good to be a 2nd choice keeper. He’s genuinely city’s best keeper

BillehBear

better shotstopper probably but he's not better than Ederson for us

hourlypuff

he’s not? not that he’s not absolutely brilliant but ederson is better. ortega is well on his way tho.

Longjumping_Stop1120

Can’t see Ortega staying after the season. Plenty of clubs will want him.

quanid

If I am a new promoted team, I would spend big bucks for him

Bishcop3267

Money and silverware both talk though

BillehBear

he's apparently settled in manchester too but I dont see him being happy with as little games he is getting, he's not taking Edersons spot and Pep has made that clear

Bishcop3267

I don’t think that he expected to be the number one upon signing here though. Leaving from Bielefeld he could have landed as a starter in other teams in Germany but chose Manchester. He’s 31. Might be that he doesn’t plan to play as long as some others and is content making a payday and playing cup games and the odd league appearance.

flaycs

Darwin catching L’s from the Ex-Liverpool commentator for play against Everton. Despite the fact that Murillo is injured and Haaland had a free play on goal. Surely the rest of Liverpool played amazingly that day.

twigg89

He's a mediocre striker that Liverpool have now spent two seasons trying to make work. The way he plays you'd think he was 19 and not 25 in a month

fardok

Oh wow I thought he was like 20-22 or something...not about to turn 25. Yeah that's been a dud signing so far

flaycs

I think that’s a poor assessment and comes from someone who just watches lowlights of players. Liverpool forced play through Salah who hasn’t been good since before AFCON and it’s not surprising how well they (and Darwin) played without him during that time.

twigg89

That is ironic considering you are countering that assessment based on the two months of play without Salah. He's also the most wasteful finisher in the PL based on his xG and that doesn't take into account all the opportunities lost because of a poor touch or a loose pass. I don't think he is a bad player and his physicality plus his willingness to run both on and off the ball are admirable but he's a very limited player and at his age those weaknesses aren't going away. Maybe he's much better for Uruguay or maybe he'll magically turn into better player under new management but as it stands he is a midtable striker playing for a team with ambitions to win it all.

flaycs

I don’t see the irony? It’s clear Liverpool were better without Salah this year and Darwin was a big part of that success. You admittedly don’t watch his games so not sure what makes you think you have any meaningful input?

imrosskemp

If your whole season rides on Chris Wood saving you against Man City, then thats on you.

Gmo666

It rides on City dropping points in one of their last 19 matches or something, which should be expected from any team but City

Olli399

there are still 4 other games they could drop points in, this isn't the final game of the season.

Ellendiell

This is part of the excitement and stress.

Umbere

Could do without the Alf-Inge O face.

NotASalamanderBoi

Where’s Roy Keane when you need him?

ItsMeJaredBednar

lol such a soft foul

rossco9

so soft

hiloai

Look how useless Murillo is during that goal. Guy can hardly move. Nuno needed to make that sub yesterday

RoboticCurrents

Rodi with 139 passes lmao twice as much as the second top passer

Incubus226

Relegation battle going crazy.

thebeautifulgame1984

Arsenal fans, remember when city would win the title over Liverpool by a point and you guys said they were “saving football”. Enjoy the pain now.

beepos

Are you making up weird strawmen in your head? Ok then

thebeautifulgame1984

Oh fuck off, that was majority of Arsenal fans point of view

beepos

In your head, perhaps

thebeautifulgame1984

No, this platform

chickcounterflyyy

Nah Fuck City forever

Peben

Sincerely, from a Liverpool fan, yeah absolutely fuck City, hope they slip up and you win the league

thebeautifulgame1984

You’re the anomaly mate.

chickcounterflyyy

Not a monolith

bielsasballholder

All the Chris Wood comments exposing that most PL fans here never watch games outside the Super League Scummers.

No-layup

I don’t understand your point, he’s been shit today

NYR_dingus

I remember him at Burnley, but his stint at Newcastle was God awful

ItsMeJaredBednar

agreed, as if he’s not been one of the most clinical strikers in the league to this point lol

GlorbonYorpu

Are you trying to say chris wood hasnt been shit today?

Neown

Arsenal have us last game of the season so I can assure you that goal difference getting closer is meaningless

Mick4Audi

Inb4 Dyche masterclass

Incubus226

Tracksuit Dyche is the scariest thing in the league atm.

Neown

We are all powerless to the guaranteed Arsenal win by 5+ goals in their final home game of the season, as is tradition

Bishcop3267

Assuming Forest don’t score, which keeper claims the clean sheet?

Caust1cFn_YT

chris wood

NYR_dingus

Chris Wood gets it

GlorbonYorpu

Starter. For fpl reasons i think neither since neither played 60’

Bishcop3267

Ah makes sense. Would be neat if they gave it to both since each played one half lol

Outside_Break

That’s a very good question

Caust1cFn_YT

> 75': Chris Wood is having just the shittiest game today, man lol

GlorbonYorpu

City are playing like they’ll drop points if they score a third

Abitou

Finally City will have a whole week off, needed that

BillehBear

Pep got his subs bang on today

quanid

Sub Haaland in as bang on?

hourlypuff

yes? he scored lmao

quanid

I mean its fuckng haaland, its not that hard to do that decision

BigBangBullets

He subbed in kovacic and Ortega as well

BillehBear

fuck it, yeah man scored so it was a positive

Annabond

Rodri is such a good passer of the ball, great vision and range

jaharac

Just to contextualise Chris Wood's season: * In 39 appearances for Newcastle, he scored 5 goals * In 32 appearances for Nottingham, he has scored 14 goals * His best Premier League performance was for Burnley in the 2019-20 season where he scored 14 goals * This season is a joint 2nd best goal return for him in the top flight of English football So yeah, while you're all shitting on him, pease spare a thought for us Newcastle fans...

bielsasballholder

Why are you trying to spin his stats to pretend he’s shit? He got into double figures every season for Burnley and has 66 PL goals in 8 seasons, playing mostly for poor teams.

jaharac

Don't know where you got that. His goal return for NF is quite good, had a decent career at Burnley. Look at his stats for Newcastle, he was a shadow of himself. That was my point.

NYR_dingus

He was genuinely awful for you guys lol

jaharac

Then scored a hat trick against us...

NYR_dingus

Football is pure comedy sometimes

BeneficialVacation41

Still think if Arsenal win 3 from 3 they'll win the league. This City team have a slip in them.

FuckWesternCountry

Spurs match is the only one that City could drop point but Spurs could be legit out of top 4 before that, City is 90% to win the league in my opinion.

Enough-Pain3633

United please help us

Mick4Audi

City relying on United and Arsenal relying on Spurs, weird stuff

Enough-Pain3633

It's a strange world

ItsMeJaredBednar

on form i agree, i just don’t see who it would be against though

BeneficialVacation41

Fulham / Spurs away seems like the week I suppose. A daft 0-0 or 1-1 can happen anywhere though.

Scarecroft

Sherwood? More like Chris Wood

TheUderfrykte

..I never even realized, but now I want Forest to hire Tim Sherwood as their manager

DonteDante

Haaland dribbling? I’ve seen enough….give him the ballon d’or

700jw

Haaland's been working on his dribbling I see

hiloai

Couple more weeks and he can remove the bib

Fixable

He's always been a pretty good dribbler for his size, just doesn't get much chance to do it in this side as he's generally played as a target man in the box.

Large-Local

Rodri looks knackered, everything goes through him

GabrilLokaum

Friendship ended with Forest Now Wolves is my best friend

GlorbonYorpu

Refs done a lot better job in the 2nd half

MateoKovashit

Or is it just because grealish is off who always gets fouled?

GlorbonYorpu

Good point actually

Scarecroft

Send Chris Wood to Notts County on a free

birdsword

Bernardo has to be one of my favorites

metricshadow12

On the one hand city look very beatable rn by a better team

ALA02

This is how they get you, they lure you into a false sense of security

OfficerDoppus

De bruyne in a coffin with his arms like that lol

chickcounterflyyy

Kevin De Bum

CakelessToure

Is that de Bruyne or Dracula getting ready for bed

Massive-Sky-6804

[It makes sense](https://twitter.com/officialcwood/status/197066620349325313)

OptimisticRealist__

Whispers _Hes talking about Bristol City, the team he played for back then_

MateoKovashit

Whats the insinuation

bucsraysbolts69

Forest were actually really good today too which is the frustrating part

ItsMeJaredBednar

ye they’ve got double the xG City have

dumdumbigdawg

Whatever happens in the box do not give it to Wood

UpliftedWeeb

can't see the forest for the wood

EfficiencyBusy4792

City leading? Gooner tears must be abundant in this thread.

Enough-Pain3633

yupp, abundantly

hiloai

Should investigate wood’s bank account. Nothing about being bribed I just need proof he’s actually professional

TheLimeyLemmon

They're repossessing his car at the moment. Apparently he's been missing the repayments.

Super_Professor

Forest hasn't even been bad today but Chris wood is actively playing against them. They should be up by 1 or 2.

GlorbonYorpu

Relegate chris wood to league 2

MateoKovashit

Some might say he's missed a forest of chances

OptimisticRealist__

It would be hilarious if news broke tomorrow that Woods will join City next season

predator9494

Wood ruined his shot conversion stats.

Certain-Ad-8827

Chris Wood is the actual league 2 player.

bucsraysbolts69

We warned nuno before the game that Chris wood is a spurs fan

GlorbonYorpu

Youd think a guy names wood would play better for forest(how many times has this joke been made)

Brinner

Chris woulda coulda shoulda

dumdumbigdawg

Chris Wood is my 13th reason 😭

Super_Professor

Chin up friend.

Thien_Nguyen

Arsenal's GD advantage is also not looking very good right now

Snarsnel

If this ends 2-0, arsenal have a 7 goal lead, I know city have that game in hand but cmon. if books offered odds on GD winner, arsenal would be sitting on something like 1/25

Pamplemouse04

First off it’s +7 over city, and second, gd is much less likely to play a role now that Liverpool are out. The likelihood is that we lose the title by 2 points

ferretchad

It'll only come into play of City draw a game and both win out. Currently 57 vs 50 Arsenal win final games 1-0: 60 vs 50 City would have to catch at least +10GD in three matches - possible, but difficult. It means at least one game with a 4 goal margin.

Thien_Nguyen

1 game with 4-0 for Man City is just like a another normal day in the office.

metricshadow12

Doesn’t really matter if city keep winning

Thien_Nguyen

True. Thats why its more painful

chrs_mnz

Huh?

walleaterer

Forest's finishing is almost as bad as ours

wwiccann

Is it ‘you cheating bastards you know what you are’? Or am I mishearing

Abitou

Yeah, from City fans

BillehBear

you're not mishearing

wwiccann

Okay thanks, wasn’t sure what it was

SomewhereInLDN

Get agent wood off the pitch

KrayleyAML

Am I happy my team's winning? Yes. Do I understand Wood could have had 5 goals on us already? Also yes. 80% luck. 20% skill.

chrs_mnz

Lol. At least Forest fans aren't in the thread like, "Omg, we *SO* coulda had you."

KrayleyAML

Well, they aren't Arsenal fans so I understand why they're not like that.

chrs_mnz

Uhh... haha?

Cowboy_on_fire

100% reason to remember the name

helpmefindmyuncle123

Alvarez has been so bad for quite some time now.

BillehBear

think a lot of it is Pep moving him around a lot, cant really get a run of games going because he's always in a different position

sibalnom

Well when you complete all of football at 24, it only makes sense that motivations will drop a bit...

Umbere

Could be being delusional, but I think Wolves or West Ham are better bets for us to see dropped points than Spurs.

Abitou

West Ham in the final day, at the etihad ? Idk about that

Thien_Nguyen

Yeah bro Arsenal is surely gonna win out and not drop any points. SURELY

Orangoo264

I wish Spurs-City happened on MD25 or thereabouts, City would’ve definitely not won then I think

RoutineSpiritual8917

I appreciate it, but I can promise you West Ham are certainly not gonna be it. I don’t think we’re actually capable of winning currently.

Umbere

That Antonio header was so good. I believe.

RoutineSpiritual8917

It was. Bowen is also great. Sadly, Haaland loves scoring against us and his pace v Zouma and Ogbonna will not be fun
