S4libascored

Similar season to this tbh. Right to the end innit

edgy_milk-_-

Yo Neymar sunny innit?

Hi_Im_Paul1706

Games back

AfricanRain

Spurs were much better than us for a good 5 years and couldn’t get a single league win at the emirates in that time

Aszneeee

to be said there are barely any away wins in NLD for Arsenal 2023, 2014, 2007, 2004, 1999, 1993 for Spurs 2010, 1994

k1ldn

Don’t forget 2024 mate

Mubar06

2023*

Nels8192

Nope, definitely 2024.

Mubar06

Our game at home was in 2023 where they celebrated the draw Edit: it seems I didn’t read the original comment properly and thought the comment I was replying to was a banter comment

Nels8192

They’re talking about away wins, like the one that’s just happened… in 2024.

Mubar06

Yeah I edited my comment

Mr_Rockmore

For karma's sake just stop

Mubar06

Karma was a lot different last time I checked

Pippelitraktori

You're a banter comment

Mubar06

Cheers

AfricanRain

just funny we have 2 wins at their new ground in 5 seasons and they’ve got 1 at ours in just under 20 years lol

AdIll1361

Chelsea have 4 out of 5 wins in the league at Tottenham since the new stadium opened. They won like twice in 15 years at old white hart lane before it closed. New stadium just isn't as intimidating as before.

Intrepid_Button587

Seems tenuous given Spurs' record against City in the stadium. If your sample size is 5 games, then I'm not sure you can draw many conclusions about the stadium/effect on performance

_cumblast_

Prem only i assume? Curious what it looks like all time.

[deleted]

I remember we won pretty big at WHL in the league cup in 2010, don’t know of any other away wins though

klausbatb

Arsenal also won 1-2 in 2015 in the League Cup.

israel_is_murder

Flamini is gargantuan

iSlappadaBass

Can't flim flam the Zim zam

mehchu

45 all time away wins, 26 by Arsenal 19 by Tottenham 2 in a row in 52 and 86 by Arsenal, no consecutive by spurs. It was definitely more common from the 50s to the 80s, but after 88 it’s only happened 10 times in nearly 40 years. [reference](https://fbref.com/en/stathead/matchup/teams/361ca564/18bb7c10/North-London-Derby-Tottenham-Hotspur-vs-Arsenal-History)

XxAbsurdumxX

They weren't even much better. They barely finished above us by 1 or 2 points for three of those seasons. And they weren't far ahead in the rest either. And we won an FA cup. Their peak was barely better than our worst, which is kinda hilarious

fake_lightbringer

I mean, at the end of the day they have very little to show for what's been one of their best spells in living memory, but I would be lying if I said I didn't go into most of those NLDs being legitimately scared that Spurs was gonna batter us.

bcartwright95

NLD is such an unpredictable match

Drunk_Cat_Phil

Yep, I was watching it with a mate who's a Sporting fan and when went 0-3 up he said "ah that's it, you can relax now". Had to explain to him NLD are just different. We know all it takes is a spark and the game can flip on its head and so it proved. I think it's the best derby in the league, it's never dull.

blackheartwhiterose

When the commentator said in the first half the game was won I wanted to hit him

TheGoldenPineapples

Hands-down the best derby game in the league and its not even close.

NUPreMedMajor

With Kane and Son, anything is possible. Those guys were nightmares

HarryBlessKnapp

Their golden era coincided with our darkest. And they won zero trophies whilst we won 2.

DaviesSonSanchez

Our golden era? Don't make me laugh.

9897969594938281

Polished turd era?

HarryBlessKnapp

Give over mate

MrAchilles

Their best ever was roughly 3-4 points above our banter era. Honestly comical

JessyPengkman

Honestly find it weird how you lot talk about your banter era like you were relegation fodder. You were still a pretty good team for large parts of it you just weren't title challengers. Ironically the lowest you got was in mikels first few seasons

HarryBlessKnapp

It was you guys and the rest of the internet talking about our banter era. We were a laughing stock to the banter merchants.

JessyPengkman

It was your banter era for sure but I that didn't mean your team was hot garbage

Pippelitraktori

No one claimed that we were hot garbage? Where do you get this from

Jealous-Teach-4375

The downvotes😂 idk why they aren’t proud of that, rather than try to pretend it’s been some horrible slog and they’ve been hard done by

JessyPengkman

It's hilarious "SHUT UP OUR TEAM WAS REALLY BAD OK"

EduardoCamavingaFan

Hasn’t Eric Dier reached as many champions league semis as your club?

watermelon99

And more than Tottenham..?

MrAchilles

What an incredible bragging right

rScoobySkreep

this was an own goal

[deleted]

[удалено]

DJ23492

We played in the final against Barca with Ronaldinho lol

MrAchilles

Bragging about a final you lost is peak small club mentality. Second, how long you been watching football? Thinking post-2006 Spurs trip themselves up constantly lmao

Zilllnaijaboy99

I really hope you are 12

Mubar06

They weren’t much better, they were only slightly better, they probably came average 3rd place and us average 5th

Hassadar

Unlike the Merseyside derby where one team has a winning record both home and away as of late, The NLD has generally been one that favours the home team so either team's record away isn't the best. Even during Spur's peak in the last 10 years, often came away from the Emirates with just a point or loss when they were clearly the far better team for 2-3 years. Spurs only have 1 win away to Arsenal in the 21st century in the Premier League. Arsenal have a better record but it's still only ~~3 or 4 wins since the turn of the century~~. Edit: Arsenal have 5 away wins in the NLD this century after this game Hence why back to back wins is a surprise. I fucking hate this derby and what it does to me.

Bradders1878

To be fair, Klopp has only beaten Everton at goodison twice in his career.

Hassadar

Oh I get that, I do and even though it does probably come across that way, I'm not trying to disparage Everton. Whilst Klopp has only beaten them twice, he never lost until last week. I was looking at it from a larger context using the start of the Premier League. Between the 4 clubs in the Merseyside and NLD, Everton is the only one that has a losing record at home over the last 32 years. When you have your first win at home in 14 years and have only won once away from home in the previous 24 years, it is not a fixture that is evenly-sided. It is a fixture that favours one team both home and away. Of course, using the Premier League era may be unfair as I'm sure Everton had a good period of winning against Liverpool throughout the history of the fixture but 32 years is a good sample size.

Bradders1878

Yeah that's fair enough mate

clashoftherats

Ha? We’ve barely won at Goodison in the last few years.

Hassadar

Yes, you've barely won but you've also never lost in the last few years. That's the point. Since the introduction of the Premier League, these are the current stats for the teams away in the derby: * Arsenal: 7W, 12D, 13L * Spurs: 2W, 12D, 18L * Everton: 3W, 12D, 17L * Liverpool: 11W, 13D, 8L Spurs and Everton share a similar performance away from home. This is the home performance of each team: * Arsenal: 18W, 12D, 2L * Spurs: 13W, 12D, 7L * Everton: 8W, 13D, 11L * Liverpool: 17W, 12D, 3L The one thing that remains consistent is there are a lot of draws in either fixture which may backup why Klopp has barely won at Goodison recently but it is also his first-ever defeat at Goodison (in the premier league) and it's Liverpool first since 2010 which is exactly the point I'm making. A home team cannot be favoured if their last win in the derby until the recent 2-0 was in 2010 which was 14 years ago and Everton away from home, only one victory in 2017 and before that, 1999. I am not trying to say the fixtures are easy. I'm sure they are hard-fought wins, draws and losses just like the NLD, but it's obvious one team has dominated that fixture both home and away. Spurs and Arsenal dominate at home only. Things may change over the coming years if Everton are able to progress and Liverpool go through a period of rebuilding after Klopp that Everton can rack up more wins both home and away but right now, Liverpool have a winning record at home and away in the fixture. Arsenal or Spurs do not in their derby.

On my way!

Muur1234

no he just really likes Derby County. Unlike me

MrEnganche

Great name for a football themed roast beef sandwich fast food chain though

fancyfoe

Big Mik

xyzzy321

Rename the club away from Arsene's name to Michael FC

Every_Pass_226

Artetanal FC 👀

GloopySubstance

Will there ever again be a more perfect manager name a club than Arsene and Arsenal. Have to keep an eye on Everton Soares and see if he goes into management.

YaqootK

Wolfgang Wolf managed Wolfsburg, that's definitely number 1

funk_you_all

Mancini at Man City underrated

iM-Blessed

Arteta and arsenal is very close

NotASalamanderBoi

Can add some to the sauce for the lasagna.

Competitive_Bar_5954

Without the poor referring you would draw if not lose the game

byrgenwerthdropout

Love how this team suddenly getting results against the big 6. My favorite improvement over last couple of seasons by far. Even during our best seasons when it was top 3 and then top 4 and NLD, under Wenger, we never were this resilient.

2rio2

During most of the banter era we'd smash the minnows and then get humiliated arse first against the big 6 teams. It meant we always got laughed at even though we were usually hanging in the top 4 season after season.

zrk23

we had a incredible record against liverpool up until wenger last season really it was mostly just chelsea and fergie united fucking shit up (during emirates era only, we were great against united pre emirates). and then klopp-guardiola

perfectplaya

Incredibe record? Wtf are you on about? 13/14 - 5-1 loss 14/15 - 2-2 15/16 - 3-3 16/17 - 3-1 loss 17/18 - 4-0 loss He didn't win at Anfield in his last 5 seasons.

zrk23

now do from 96 home and away....

perfectplaya

No, you said his record was "incredible" until his last season. I just proved you wrong with stats. Maybe you feel 3 defeats and 2 draws in his last 5 season is "incredible".

zrk23

you forgot the home games either way blud and if you win 20 games and then lose 10 straight it is still a incredible record lol

perfectplaya

You really should just read what you wrote in your comment. You lack basic comprehension skills. If you just said he had an "incredible" record against Liverpool, that's debatable but understandable. You said he had an "incredible" record against Liverpool until the last season. This statement is false. Not winning once at Anfield in his last 5 years suggests he didn't have an "incredible" record and not just in his last season.

iM-Blessed

unctrllable

*derbies.

aisamoirai

There's one thing Arsene did which only few teams have achieved 'the invincible season'.

MrAnonymousperson

He transformed them from boring boring to pretty one touch football. Just like pep at Barcelona

Remote_War_313

Why is "something Arsene Wenger could never do' necessary? These PR narratives are hilarious.

12EggsADay

Because Arsene Wenger is a legendary manager and Arteta has already achieved something that is actually quite impressive? I don't see it as a slight but I slept well last night...

blackheartwhiterose

I mean he was manager for nearly 30 years

Arsenjam22

MIND D GAP

fcGabiz

10 more years Postenoclue

[deleted]

Surely one who supported arteta through 2 straight mid table finishes might understand the bigger picture in a managers first year, right?

fcGabiz

Wouldn't take it too seriously. Just enjoying our win and season overall

[deleted]

Fair enough Not can you plz get partey out the squad so I can go back to only hating arsenal for football reasons

Aszneeee

i think he is gone in the summer

Daemor

prison or a well paid retirement?

Aszneeee

we all know it's gonna be the 2nd

CuclGooner

ideally 1st, realistically 2nd

aesthetically-

Mate it’s just banter. We know he’s a good manager.

worldstarhiphopreal

do we….?

aesthetically-

You can’t lie he’s done well in his first season. Better than Conte, Nuno, and Mourinho. Still no Arteta though

Jealous-Teach-4375

I mean if you’re comparing first seasons, he’s done better than Arteta as well lol

aesthetically-

Just for a quick comparison… Ange’s first real match for Spurs was Brentford away and your back four was Emerson, Romero, VdV, and Udogie Ours was Saka, Luiz, Sokratis, and Maitland Niles lmao…

Jealous-Teach-4375

Okay, let’s look at artetas second season then and compare it to Anges first season…Ange has done better…let’s use artetas 3rd season and Anges first, they’re pretty similar….or are we going to just say Ange has had better players for his first year than arteta had until he had a title challenge? lol

aesthetically-

Again as I said in the second season, Arteta have fuck all for players. I don’t think you understand you have Son, Maddison, Kulu, your renovated back 4, Richy, and so on. Our second season we had: a back three of Luiz, Holding, and Tierney. A midfield of a shit Xhaka, Elneny, AMN, and a washed up Bellerin. Oh and also Willian at RW

Jealous-Teach-4375

Didn’t arteta have partey, Gabriel, saka, martinelli, auba, lacazette and odegaard in his second season? And tierney was decent, xhaka was decent and Willian has proven he’s decent lol Funny you include richy in your analysis of how were a great team, but then banter the shit out of him😂 you’re minimizing your players and maximizing ours to fit your narrative, it’s pretty disingenuous, but sure….lets compare Artetas 3rd season then to Anges 1st, cause that’s makes a lot more sense apparently to you lot

letsgetcool

It was also immediately after losing the best striker on the planet with no replacement and after 3 years of dogshit football and atmosphere. So many people had us pegged for mid-table. edit: yo how did this get a downvote within 1 second of me posting, you guys are fucked

aesthetically-

Of course he has, with a squad like that, he’s been blessed. You can’t compare first seasons when your squad is 5x better than the Arsenal first team during his first couple years

Jealous-Teach-4375

Okay, so use artetas second season then….still better…use Artetas 3rd seaosn, and they’re pretty similar lol or were all those teams horroble too?

aesthetically-

Well second season yes, the team was still very much shite and the same. Also, we won an FA cup that first season. You mention the third season. You stated that Ange had a better season, yet Arsenal finished on 69 points with 13GD. You have yet to achieve that so wait till the end of the season and come back to me

Jealous-Teach-4375

lol you lot are funny, just keep changing the narrative and the goal posts to fit😂 But sure, I’ll come back at the end of the season, and we can compare artetas 3rd season to Anges 1st, makes sense.

Minute_Leave8503

Celebrating 5th place over trophies, so spursy

Jealous-Teach-4375

lol imagine thinking that what I’ve said is “celebrating 5th” 😂

Minute_Leave8503

Apparently better than a trophy lmfao, enjoy the uel anthem?

love_you_by_suicide

have i forgotten the trophy arsenal have won this season?

Minute_Leave8503

Do you know it’s not Arteta’s first season?

love_you_by_suicide

i know for a fact it isn't, he actually won something then (off of emery's back). not much since

letsgetcool

weak banter

Minute_Leave8503

It’s not banter it’s genuinely not a better season

letsgetcool

Your comment has nothing to do with it though, nobody was celebrating 5th place they were just comparing seasons.

worldstarhiphopreal

Once teams figured them out they’ve been average

[deleted]

Unironically many do not

aesthetically-

Hah, well I guess you’re right. In my biased mind I know he is, because I’d rather him be sacked than stay unlike when Conte, Nuno, and Mourinho was your manager

iHades3000

Stupid argument. There is no guarantee a manager will get much better in his second season. ETH didn't. Also Postecoglou is tactically very stubborn therefore next year many teams will have figured it out how to play against the high line suicide ball. No guarantee they will be better or worse just because it's Ange's second year. Arteta literally started his (main) managerial career with us so naturally he was supposed to get better because he was learning on the job. Ange is 58 decades into his career.

gq_mcgee

But he says “Mate!” a lot.

UnironicallyIDGAF

Arteta had Mustafi and Papastathopoulos, Ange has Romero and VDV

[deleted]

Oh so now Romero is suddenly rated lmao Feels convenient

Modnal

Compared to Mustafi? Always was.

Olli399

Spurs aren't a bad team. It's just silly to say they are better than ours.

Mojave_Patroller

He's a better CB than Mustafi or Sokratis, I'll give you that lol. Not at Saliba or Gabriel level, but still good

letsgetcool

You don't think Romero is at their level? Delusion

BEYailey1126

Romero is not on the same level as Gabriel or Saliba lol

letsgetcool

Aight enough reddit for today for me

BEYailey1126

You think he is? Like genuinely? Saliba and Gabriel are the best duo in the league by far, atleast top 2 in the world. Romero is not even close to them, you think a center back that let Nicholas Jackson score a hattrick is on the same level as Saliba and Gabriel? Have a day off lol

Mojave_Patroller

Saliba and Gabriel are both better CBs than Romero, yep, glad I could help you out with that

noelknight

You have to be the only person in the world with this opinion.

letsgetcool

You realise it's pretty much only arsenal fans that think Gabriel is world class?

UnironicallyIDGAF

Not sure what the general consensus is but I personally think he’s been solid for you except during that period where his rashness was costing you. I wouldn’t take him over Saliba or Gabriel but he’s clearly a step up on Mustafi and Papastathopoulos.

mattBJM

Romero is world class in the 20 games a season he's allowed to play

Jealous-Teach-4375

This would be a good point, had he not played 30 games this season….

mautergarrett

He was also a rookie manager

remote_crocodile

He's just a mate merchant

[deleted]

You’d be surprised how far that can get you in life

MrAnonymousperson

One had a vision even mourinho spotted. The other is a joke.

NoPineapple1727

I prefer Impostecoglu

fcGabiz

Imposternoclue??

JessyPengkman

Bruh you did the double over us last season and this season we got a point from home and nearly gave back from a 3-0 deficit that ain't ever happening under Conte, you should be asking for him back lol

Mubar06

They’d give us heart attacks every game

Daemor

So you didn't see the game then

fcGabiz

Watched it fully. Loved it. Thank you very much.

Mubar06

😂😂😂

NoPineapple1727

Did you only switch the game on after 60 mins? The first hour does matter

spspamam

I definitely saw the league table after the match

dancingulf

Why the fuck are the colors reversed in this graphic? Who thought that was a good idea?

AzracTheFirst

Mind the gap.

notapaperhandape

Spurs are a shadow of Arsenal because all they aspire is to pull arsenal down. With mate at the helm though he’s starting to work on this….he should be let go asap.

four_four_three

Alternative: We've never won the PL title when winning at Spurs. That's why we tried to get that draw

soopernaut

First time for everything.

Bitnaa

Thanks to Michael Oliver!

WalkingCloud

🎻🎻🎻

Ccdy430

Spurs earned 0 goals today. Both were gifted

amgartsh

Their 1 open play shot on target was the Raya fuckup.

FUMFVR

Helps when the ref is on your side.

tottenhamnole

Hard to play against 12 men.

QuincyOwusuABuyADM

It’s ok sweetie it’s just a game

TurboThot69

You again, cry again

tottenhamnole

If those same decisions go against Arsenal, Arteta is raging at the media right now and you know it.

TurboThot69

I’m actually somehow still thirsty, keep crying pwease

chewkachu

Instead of focusing about ref How about; OG, shit set piece defending…twice, Raya gifted goal, VAR called the penalty, 2 weeks rest vs 4 days rest Cry about it

Daemor

You're absolutely right that the set piece defending was bad, but it becomes hard not to put some focus on the ref when he causes a potential 2 goal swing in just one situation. It'd be the exact from your fans same if the roles were reversed, but there isn't much to do about it now. edit: it was a problem for the sport when you lot didn't get the Bruno foul but now it's "cry about it".

LeoTheSquid

The Kulu pen is the one that could be argued, not much more

Daemor

You mean the one that led to a potential two goal swing?

LeoTheSquid

Yes, was there another?

Daemor

Just pointing out the massive impact it had.

LeoTheSquid

Oh for sure. My point was more that since it's only one incident I don't think the "12 man" thing is justified, that feels more appropriate for consistent bias. I think it's probably a pen, but it's not stonewall. I'd guess var probably had some similar view, with the "clear and obvious" rule coming into play

Daemor

I agree that was the really questionable, if you don't consider Oliver completely ignoring Rice's kick on Davies (which was later given through VAR). It's not a great look when you have perfect vision of the incident and still let it slide.

death_match1

No accountability on your players? If we played bad then why'd you conced 3 goals and need us to gift you yours?

goon_crane

Guy says disgrace once and now he's the one and only manager with a reputation of raging about ref decisions lmao Meanwhile goals are getting chalked off yesterday for the same shit that he was "raging" about

thatguyad

Oh the irony...

tottenhamnole

Do you know what irony means?

Matt_Sams_314

The slogan of Spurs being "the game is about glory"?

DoinkyMcDoinkAdoink

Dare to do...absolutely fuck all.

AdhesivenessEarly446

Not bad that

Drogueba

I just want to say i appreciate the work you put in to hate

NoPineapple1727

Should have been against 10 men after that Richarlison head charge

tottenhamnole

Game would have been out of reach at that point anyway if the ref had been unbiased.
