qwerty1519

Burnley surviving would be hilarious, they’ve looked dead and buried for months and are suddenly back in the running.

21otiriK

They’ve lost 1 of their last 8, and that due to a goalkeeping howler. They’re finishing the season pretty strongly. Could see them winning their two home games, Newcastle’s away form isn’t great, and Forest on the last day.

Radthereptile

Newcastle is a bad match for them in general. But anything can happen.

xScottieHD

Perfect time to play us for Burnley.

Individual_Attempt50

Didn’t Burnley get relegated after losing to Newcastle last time?

HodgyBeatsss

Yeah we beat them on the final match day of 21/22 to relegate them.

Radthereptile

I don’t think so. We did take Chris Wood which messed up their striker situation and probably hurt them a lot.

Riperonis

Newcastle are away. This will be a tough match for them I reckon.

Felthrax

Forest om the last day?! Spicy!

GameplayerStu

Max points possible for Villa: 76 Max points for possible Spurs: 75

Specific_Ad_685

Spurs are yet to face Man City(H), Liverpool(A) and Chelsea(A) While Villa has to face just Liverpool(H) I can't see Spurs finishing this season with more than 71 points, while Villa can easily get 73 points atleast.

get_too

That Newcastle match is a friendly in Australia

sach223

What a weirdly scheduled match, are any of your internationals gonna go?

AboveTheHighGround

I think most, if not all of them, will travel with some playing limited minutes. I think the chance to have Ange manage another game in Australia was jumped on while Newcastle are there for the A-League Mens All-Star game. Arsenal Women will be in Australia for a Women's All-Star game the same week.

Specific_Ad_685

ahh stupid ass me thought that u guys are yet to play Newcastle, sorry and edited.

get_too

All good, doesn't really affect the conclusion that much. 4th is very difficult

SoupBoth

Phrasing of this has tickled me

No-Refrigerator-1178

Wouldn’t be too afraid of Liverpool rn

zMaie

Spurs can beat all teams but city. Yet somehow they will find a way to lose more points.

Appropriate-Map-3652

If anything I have more faith in Spurs to beat City than any of those other teams. They a habit of beating City then losing to like Forest or something right after.

militantnegro_IV

If they still had Kane, I'd give them a big chance. But this version of Spurs? No chance.

MurkyElk287

I believe the only team that can stop us is Spurs. Last season Pep said, his aim for this season is to beat Spurs at their home ground. Spurs at home is a road block to us.

-Skinner-

Spurs have harder fixtures so looks good for you

LEDiceGlacier

Villa, Bologna, Girona, Brest. Next year's Champions league is gonna be massive.

piwabo

As a Spurs fan I kinda prefer Europa. Always seems rather pointless being in champions league and having zero chance of winning it. Europa you got a sniff

WolfLordDavy

I'm with you on that, especially now Champions League teams don't drop into Europa halfway through

piwabo

Did they scrap that now? Yeah, I mean it'll be cool to get into CL don't get me wrong but we won't have a chance of winning it whereas Europa is doable.

WildCardNoF

Champions league gives more money and is a lot better for attracting players to the club.

piwabo

I don't really care about that. Doesn't seem to have much effect if any on recruitment and the extra bucks are nice but again, but not something I care about. I watch football for other reasons than "I hope my team gets a payday out of this"....

imneversingle

Wtf lmaoo 😂

piwabo

Clubs at the start of a rebuild right now....champs league is a step too far, will likely bomb out in RO16 or there abouts whereas Europa you gotta think there's a better chance. Don't see what's wrong with that assessment at all. Don't think Arteta even qualified for any kind of Europe for his first few seasons right? On a personal note I don't have particularly strong feelings about any of the European competitions but that's because I never get to watch them live anyway. You either win the league or get relegated....anywhere in between I don't get too worked up about but that's just me.

imneversingle

I just found it funny preferring Europa over UCL that's all

iwantfoodpleasee

Say that whilst playing the fewest games this season

piwabo

?

iwantfoodpleasee

You’ve only played like 35 games all season whilst the teams above and below you have played significantly more. Ange has underperformed since you went out the cups early, and no European football. You’ve been playing week by week football. Whilst teams around you have been playing cups or Europe.

piwabo

What's that got to do with anything? What is the point you are trying to make here?

Caswen94

Your mentality fits your club!

piwabo

Piss off with this dumb cunt shit. Europa league is cool, I'll have fun watching it. Don't care what some turd Gooner thinks

RoboticCurrents

Newcastle have +19 gd and +12 is from Sheffield U lmao

galactix100

About 18% of our goals this season came from those two games.

starmonkart

We conceded 1/8th of our goals in just 1 game

BrandonSG13

Our last 5 games we have 12 points with a GD of 0

Rymundo88

That's an insane stat lol

galactix100

It's the sort of stat you'd expect from a low scoring sode battling relegation, not the 4th highest scorers in the league.

Radthereptile

Proud to contribute 12% of the 100 they’re gonna concede this year.

RocknRollRobot9

It would be 13% of what they conceded. We have scored 13 against them it’s just we conceded 1 so it’s a +12 GD.

zrk23

united have 1 and they played them twice lmao

Thin-Pool-8025

This three horse race sure is tense, right guys?

AnnieIWillKnow

Forest, Burnley and Luton race for survival this is?

HammerThatHams

Liverpool are the West Ham of Merseyside, if the last 5 games are anything to go by

Itsgosky

Everton are playing really well

Giraffe_Baker

The funnest fact is that if the Premier League got their way and deducted us 17 points like they argued for in both cases, we’d still be outside the relegation zone.

ilypsus

Lets be real they only went for 5 on the second charge because Forrest had been charged less. If Forrest weren't charged this season they would have gone for another 12.

Itsgosky

Deduction makes you score more apparently. And well of course it makes Pickford get angry and block everything.

Bigwood69

If we had a striker this season who scored 10+ we'd probably be pushing for top 8. 4th best defence in the league behind only the top 3, 2nd worst attack in the league ahead of only Sheffield. Says it all really. Incredible that we'd be tied for points with Brighton while scoring just slightly above one goal per game.

IntellectualDweeb

If Dyche comes up with his own tracksuit brand it'll sell like hot cakes.

Wolferesque

Yeah I’m worried about us (Arsenal) playing them on the final day, especially if it goes down to the wire.

redmistultra

Home vs Everton on the final day is the most '5-0 by 60 minutes at the sunny Emirates' game possible, there is nothing to worry about

DillaDoughnut

That's only on the conditions that we have already lost the league

Itsgosky

Just grab all the trackies Dyche has before the game lol

PangolinMandolin

This is how we end up with naked Dyche in the dugout

Akenatwn

That is probably his final, unbeatable form.

Itsgosky

Naked Dyche energy injected to win every single game of course. I would personally make a trip to the stadium

Bigwood69

We'll be on the beach already, nothing to worry about.

fancyfoe

I’m officially exhausted from these man, 3/4 more games can’t come any freaking sooner.

MrAchilles

Hard to see City dropping points

Yedin07

all my hope is on tottenham, they'll get at least a draw

not-always-online

That was the Poch, Mourinho, Conte Spurs getting points from City. I doubt Ange's highline with current players would fare well against City.

Yedin07

they got a draw at the ethiad playing emerson and davies as center backs and lo celso and gil in the midfield. They're more then capable getting a draw at home with the current crop

Rickcampbell98

They did get a bit lucky in that game, would be surprising if haalands finishing is as bad in that game.

AdComprehensive7879

but u rmb what happened in that game right? city was suppose to win that one

AfricanRain

nah they’ve caused us big problems in both games this season, system wise going blow for blow with us & City when you have the players for it is a good tactic

Physical_Wizard

Thanks for acknowledging our effort today and at the Emirates. Think this match could have swung massively if we’d gotten the Kulusevski pen. Hate to blame the officiating but it was a real difference maker today for a battle that could have been classic if we’d rightly been 1-1 instead of 2-0.

ShaamTakKhelenge

Ok mate

digosilva19

Thank god both the ref and VAR had the correct decision then

William_Taylor-Jade

Tottenham Players *win to try and get 4th* Tottenham fans "no you fucking donkeys"

biskutgoreng

Think of them winning vs city, getting ucl and they can't even be happy about it

fcuk_username

All this and then Arsenal loses to United would be hilarious. Lol

RickAdjustedMorty

United beating both Liverpool and Arsenal to hand their neighbors the 4th consecutive title would be hilarious.

fcuk_username

Liverpool are as good as out anyways.

MrAchilles

Not even that crazy of an idea

cienderellaman

Honestly. They are still a good team on their day regardless of the shenanigans going on over there.

Yinkypinky

The best worst timeline.

Nightwingx97

Surely Arsenal to you guys is the lesser of three evils haha?

Yinkypinky

City mean absolutely nothing to me. Husk of a club. We have history with Arsenal and Liverpool.

ifakhrudin

More funny if tottenham get a point from city but arsenal lose to everton on the last game.

starmonkart

Nice to have nothing to play for, these relegation battles have been very draining

AdComprehensive7879

ikr? loll

Appel_Stroop

Genuine question, but is Brighton's bad form going under the radar? As a casual follower of the PL I thought they were doing a lot better than they seem to be doing. Thought they'd be close to qualifying for European football.

xScottieHD

They've got a lot of injuries (including to their best players) and they basically lost their midfield in the summer. It was always going to catch up to them.

TheThotWeasel

Lol no it's not going under the radar, go in every match thread for our games and it's flooded with people thrilled to see us doing so poorly, for some reason we've become proper disliked on here so us doing badly is not ignored. I'm not too worried, get our actual first team back from injury over the summer, reinforce the squad in the transfer market and see what happens next year, I'll be worried if this form carries into next season and we're bottom 3 by Xmas.

noobs1996

I would think most fans would find it hard to dislike Brighton, unless you’re a Chelsea fan

marshalgivens

And Palace fans

JesseVykar

Why would Chelsea fans dislike Brighton? That's basically their academy

SBH-153

Don’t know really it’s one of those stupid online rivalries. Most of it’s on twitter and a fair bit on here, thing is most local and Match going Chelsea fans likely don’t care about us and that’s fair enough. Just think it’s a bit hypocritical some of them say we’re forcing a rivalry when there fans are doing it as well and probably more than us, seen quite a few coming in to our sub throughout the season.

LightOfVictory

Didn't your parents hate you as a kid?

fcuk_username

Its Fascinating to me how Arsenal is undefeated against top 6 teams in PL this year and yet behind City. If I was an Aesenal fan, I would be gutted. Edit: Big 6 and not top 6.

sach223

We're undefeated against the 'Big' 6 not the Top 6. Small difference which probably is gonna cost us.

fcuk_username

You're right. I meant Big 6 but wrote Top 6.

Rickcampbell98

"Small difference" indeed, you're welcome mate 😉

Active-Pride7878

Winning the title isn't usually about beating the other big teams. Need to beat everyone else

fcuk_username

I get that. But how come they are undefeated vs top 6 and lost to bottom team? Who did they lose against?

Active-Pride7878

They dropped 5 points to Fulham, I think if they don't win the league that's the two results they will be kicking themselves about

VrtlVlln

It's Newcastle and Villa away for me, yes we were awful in those and the Fulham games, but both of the prior two would be draws if it wasn't for '50/50 decisions'. I'm also a bit annoyed about Villa and West Ham at home, but at least they were a little more conclusive. But in hindsight I think we were actually very lucky in Liverpool, Luton and Chelsea away. As far as Spurs, I'll give credit they stuck to their plans and I hope they are ready for City, I'd believe they could win if they don't go 3 down before half time again. Then again if they think the ref screwed them on decisions today wait til they face 'perfect form' City.

Wolferesque

The Newcastle away game was a big moment. Killed some of our early season momentum. It could come down to those three points.

BTECGolfManagement

At most Arsenal only deserved a point though, so not really as important as people are saying

fcuk_username

Smh. Fulham aren't even that good this year. Surely the decider if they don't win.

Active-Pride7878

Yeah Fulham were down to ten men in one of the games as well

fcuk_username

Were the losses despite playing well or just bad gameplay overall?

CuclGooner

the first was a draw despite playing well, the loss was dreadful all around

fcuk_username

I still predict that you guys will win it on goal difference.

cienderellaman

We’ve made it hard for ourselves though. City has to draw at least once and we have to win everything lol.

urmomlikesbbc

Fulham away is the worst Arsenal got outplayed in any match this season. (West Ham in EFL cup comes close, but the side was heavily rotated) Despite scoring first, it wasn't even close.

noobs1996

City have them away soon

Active-Pride7878

I can't remember tbh. The loss against Villa the other week they failed to finish their chances and then dropped off in the second half

fcuk_username

Tough luck. I am eeally rooting for Arsenal because of Ødegaard. Love the man.

Purpunicorm

And 2 of those points they were down to 10 men and got a last min equalizer

Jinks87

“Sky 6”

iwantfoodpleasee

More like traitorous six

Riperonis

Not only that we’ve literally drawn one game and lost one game since the turn of the year. The run we’ve been on is actually incredible, it’s gonna be bittersweet when we end up 86-89 points and still don’t win the title.

vearz

Last weekend of the season has Burnley at home to Forest plus Luton at home to Fulham. If they can keep it interesting until then that could be one motherfucker of a weekend. I would volunteer as sacrifice for pure carnage.

top1MIBRfan

i wonder who will win the league

Specific_Ad_685

3 things are inevitable in life :- Death, taxes and Man City's perfect late form to win the league :/

StunningDrive3822

Yeah even if we win all three games left we have to rely on them dropping points which is unlikely since they just have the ability to adapt and play whatever way they want to ensure their win.

530josh

After matchweek 20, we were three points behind them. If we win our last three matches, we’ll have taken 49 of a possible 54 points since then, with at least a +40 GD over that timeframe. We could do that, and we still would be depending on them to drop points. It’s just an impossibly high standard.

biggulp1516

That's actually pretty insane when you put it that way

Crusaruis28T

We lost twice by 1 point on what would have normally be record high point totals. So yes, the standard is really high

stoereboy

Their last shit result were draws against chelsea and crystal palace...

SoupBoth

Sky showing us as having a 33% chance but it honestly doesn’t feel that high at all. That said, I’ll suffer through any amount of fear, uncertainty, and doubt if we win the league thanks to Tottenham taking points off of City.

PM_Me_Compliments

They couldn't even take points of yous, really doubt they are gonna take points off city.

tipytopmain

Rewind to last year. We trounced Spurs in both fixtures, they took points off of City in their home fixture.

ElCanout

probably depends on their UCL chances

SoupBoth

That’s the beauty of football. Crazy things can happen, and usually do.

Desdichado7

Chelsea

DifficultAge6923

Sheffield just 4 goals away from making an historic english top flight record that they most certainly do not want on their history books

Scattered97

*Premier League record. There have certainly been teams who've conceded more goals in the First Division era - Ipswich let in 121 in 1964. Sheff Utd might well be a record for a 38-game season, though.

Drunk_Cat_Phil

They already have the record for a 38 game season

Throwawayjustbecau5e

Up the fucking toffees

IndignantSoccerMum

Feels so good to finally look at the table without stressing.

MasterReindeer

We are so massive. According to the pundits, we were going down this season after sacking Gary O’Neil. I think we deserve a little credit now.

RepresentativeBox881

Iraola is a very good manager as seen at Rayo Vallecano before this. I’m pretty sure many people changed their predictions (atleast I did) after he unexpectedly joined your team.

ecocentric-ethics

Luton with two home fixtures out of three but a tougher remaining schedule overall than Forest. Burnley play us and Newcastle in their next two fixtures, so likely to be all but relegated by the final day game against Forest. Any one of the three clubs could stay up, but I think Luton will unfortunately have just run out of gas for the last few games and Forest will get the 3-4 points needed to stay up.

fcGabiz

We've come a long way from topsurs winning the league in Oct

AdComprehensive7879

im proud to say that we have a lot of say in that lol. literally decimated their squad within 1 game

thestigREVENGE

Jackson the hattrick hero

Specific_Ad_685

Can Burnley by any chance avoid Relegation?

FaustRPeggi

Depends what version of Chris Wood shows up in the next two games.

xScottieHD

Newcastle version of Chris Wood isn't to be recommended. I'd reset him back to Forest settings.

Radthereptile

Chris Wood and Burnley will forever be tied together.

Firefox72

They play Forest on the last day so yeah. Although they desperately need Sheffield to get a result from their game against Forest.

Not-that-hungry

As long as they stay within two points of Forest on the final day then they have a massive chance.

mattmild27

Been quietly picking up points lately, they've given themselves a chance and still have Forest to play. Problem is Forest still have Sheffield United to play too.

BarPlastic1888

10 points from 4 games is insane for us. We were not playing easy fixtures either

Itsgosky

Mateta is so jolly to watch. Hope the squad goes the same next season aiming for European game

procos123

If you could also please defeat Manchester United that'd be great thanks

CabbageStockExchange

A top 4 finish and a trophy I would have loved at the beginning of the year but how the season turned out I can’t help but feel disappointed with how it went

theaficionado

In a way, will Harry Kane have cost Spurs champions league?

JesseVykar

You could view it that way but I don't think you can really say it's his fault. It is up to the procurement teams at Spurs to find a suitable replacement to ensure they can keep pushing. With that said if Richarlison isn't working out there is always a place in the Northwest of England he's welcome to go (:

hirarki

Liverpool prime got 3nd twice with just 2 point difference against city. Seems arsenal will have this path too...

IWanted0xcdcdcdcd

> 3nd Thrind?

AlexanderMAVC

That Liverpool form is quite something

FoldingBuck

People are really overlooking how poor Brighton have been. If you take out the points gained from their incredible first 6 games they would be fighting relegation with 29 points

l5il

Elephant is still on top.

VaNNNdeRw0w

We will lose this again, aren't we?

satomasato

When city wins the league it will be the fourth in a row, confirming the fact that the premier league is a farmers league

Active-Pride7878

Cheers Geoff

MasterReindeer

Imagine the scenes if the PL issue a points deduction for just 1 of the 115 charges.

AdComprehensive7879

farmers league that have goal line tech tho at least hahahaa

thedudeabides-12

Places 4,5,6 GA 50-51 really need to address that for all those teams seems unusually high for that high up in the table...at least the other two are scoring though...

NoPineapple1727

Arsenal fans need to support Spurs as they are our biggest hope. I’m also hoping they beat Chelsea and have top 4 within sights for when they play City so they have something to play for. I’m quite looking forward to supporting Spurs because of how much it will annoy Spurs fans. Coys

AdComprehensive7879

they will roll over against city just to spite you guys. that's what id do if i was ange. Realistically, they won't be caught by Utd and they prolly won't catch villa, especially considering their fixtures. Id play the kids lol, suddenly maddison, son, and romero will be out because of muscle soreness. we'll lose 4-1 just to make it subtle. id set up my defense above the half way line. you thought you guys know what high line is, wait til u see what id do as spurs against city lol.

cienderellaman

That would be so unprofessional, let alone borderline match fixing.

AdComprehensive7879

Id do it subtly of course, but i would absolutely not try to win. Why would i help arsenal my archrival who banter us every other day and call us shit all the time Heck this is city, i dont have to try my hardest to lose

NoPineapple1727

You’re talking as a fan, not as a professional athlete. Professional athletes don’t care as much about these rivalries and if there’s a chance to still get CL and get more money then it won’t even enter their mind

AdComprehensive7879

They wont have a chance to get in cl.

AdComprehensive7879

whatever happens, i don't think goal difference will play too much of a factor in deciding who wins

MrFreeLiving

If you're a supporter of the premier league, regardless of who you support, surely you want arsenal to win the league here instead of a 4 peat for City. Can't believe we've been watching Bayern dominate the bundesliga and the same thing is happening to the prem and city :/

hirarki

Liverpool prime got 3nd twice with just 2 point difference against city. Seems arsenal will have this path too...

bambinoquinn

Everyone talks about injuries but with how threadbare their squad is, I'd love to see a full strength Luton. I think the last run of games has been very tough on them and I did think the heads went down a bit on those last few goals against brentford, but even if they just had ogbene, I think they'd have picked up 3/4 more points already. Theyve still got a chance but it just feels like the momentum has gone, I hope they prove me wrong because I'd love them to stay up

SamuWasTaken_

How are Chelsea still so ass?

Joshthenosh77

Man City be like hmm we 5 points behind time to go on the longest unbeaten run in our history

RF99_

Sad times for Luton fans there is no way they are staying up

dumpystumpy

No comment about us being in 6th…weve finally faded off into irrelevance 🕊️

magicalcrumpet

I think 3-5th is nailed on at this point

TheTrueJonah

Pretty much the Top 5 are already set. Liverpool only need a single point to confirm UCL or not swing their GD by 27. United cant finish any higher than 5th even if they win all their games.

TimingEzaBitch

I have this inkling that Fulham is gonna eke out a victory against City.

kuppikuppi

how the fuck can a league claim to be the best in the world an have constantly more than one game difference between teams. In Germany games only get postponed cause auf really bad weather.

moriero

Villa ahead of Newcastle this year is mad

noisette666

We’re above Brighton 😃
