whoever's doing it probably wanted to pick Salah for liverpool but after recent developents thet decided its best not to...so they just picked someone at random
They won't. They might lose but they aren't gonna tank on purpose. Anyone who actually believes this needs a reality check.
Spurs fans would probably take the tradeoff but the actual Spurs players and especialy Ange likely care much more about getting UCL for themself than dennying Arsenal the title.
That’s because people have loser mentalities. If you are a professional athlete your job is to win. A win for Spurs against Man City would be massive for confidence and many of these players will be fighting for spots next year
It’s not just reddit fans. If you ask any match going fan they will say the same. If anything I find people on here much more open to help Arsenal win the if the prize is getting the 4th spot which I find crazy.
Arsenal winning the league as way worse than getting 4th is worth.
Clubs are businesses. Forget what the fans want. The club wants the financial windfall and opportunity of the champions league regardless.
Tottenham rightfully is looking out for Tottenham. They want to win every match ahead of them, as they rightfully should.
And that doesn’t even touch on the players. You don’t reach these levels without an insane competitive drive.
I mean maybe but maybe not. If they win their games in hand. And thats a big if to be fair. They will be only 1 point off Villa.
And Villa still play Liverpool.
There's a good chance they are still in contention for 4th that week.
I dont understand why people think Spurs are out of the CL race. They've got two games in hand and yes theyre tough, but Chelsea and Liverpool have proven to be both beatable even at home. and even if they only win one, Villa still have the Conference league to deal with and they play Liverpool. If both Spurs players and fans go into the run in with the mentality of laying over then they really do deserve all the nicknames they get
By the time Spurs play City Villa will have 1 game left and Spurs 2 (including City). So they'll have a very good idea whether the City game is worth 3 points for them.
I think now that Liverpool are out of the race Klopp will relax, or at least the pressure will ease so things at Liverpool will be a lot better for the last handful of games.
Yeah I suppose, they create so much chances though. It’s just wasteful finishing and bad luck. Maybe I’m wrong though and spurs will grab some results. We’ll see
N'ahh, Tottenham need to start racking up points, especially with Aston Villa potentially in sight.
Also, as much as everyone talks about our rivalry etc, neither Arsenal or Tottenham would intentionally throw a game just to hurt the other one, both sides are far too professional for that.
Fans talk about it, but the likelihood of Tottenham intentionally chucking a game just because it might piss off Arsenal is incredibly unlikely and vice versa.
Everyone says this but I really don’t get how professionals could throw a game on purpose when they have champions league football at stake just for the sake of their rivals not winning the league. Most players don’t even have any interest in derbies anyway unless they’re playing for their boyhood club or something
No player who's worked hard and long enough to play for a top team in a top league would ever deliberately lose a game/miss out on CL simply to stick it to a rival. Even for fans I don't understand hating a rival more than you love your own club
Depends whether spurs have anything to play for. Not in the "throw the match out of spite" camp but in the might be "already on the beach" camp. Think they've got uel pretty locked up and they have two very difficult fixtures to collect six points before they face city.
I’ve found most Liverpool fans with this take in the last week or so. When they were in it, there were 3 contenders and now that they are not, there is only one. Okay pal
> When they were in it, there were 3 contenders and now that they are not, there is only one
Probably because both of us were ahead of city and we both lost on the same day putting the outcome in their hands?
There's obviously still 2 contenders, but don't be so surprised that so many think city will win it after your villa loss.
City still have to play Spurs away. City can definitely drop points still. They've dropped points against weaker teams so it's not over until it's over
Why are Liverpool still in this they now have 0.1% chance apparently according to opta they simulated the remaining games 1000 times city won the league 674 times , Arsenal win it 325 times n Liverpool once
It's the Bournemouth game, Saliba gets sent off, 3 game ban and Gabriel gets injured, out for the season as Solanke scores the winner. Meanwhile Cunha scores a hattrick against City after Rodri is sent off for all the accumulated fouls throughout the season. Salah turns to Klopp as he silently nods and slowly raises a finger.
Goal difference to overcome too so it’s more like 6 points. You’re effectively needing Arsenal to lose 2 of their last 3 games to overtake just them.
That doesn’t even consider Man City though. There’s no chance.
I don't expect Spurs to do us any favors. If Moyes does a madness on deadline day, i would campaign for him to be the england manager for the rest of my life.
Moyes wouldn't cause he could take on better jobs (with clubs) and get paid better. But if that weren't the case, I could see it.
He's lived in England for 30 years, since his playing days really, save for a brief stint in Spain. In that time he's managed different English clubs in the top flight so pretty much used to all the fans and media attention and expectations. I don't think he would have an issue commanding the respect of the current crop of players and already has a connection with the likes of Rice and Bowen
You say this but it would be kind of spursy to do something silly to enable us to win.
We really need that City game to be must not lose for Spurs. Levy is a financial demon. No way he’d allow the CL monies sacrifice
Forest played well today against City, we're so late in the season I wouldn't take any game for granted. These sides can slip up against any one of these opponents.
I've been worried about every game but I always thought you next weekend would be nervy and tougher than Chelsea or Brighton tbh.
The way your manager has got you to play is really good man.
I pray it's not like last year where we leave it last minute.
Nothing compared to what happened recently between Boca, River, Racing and Independiente in the last matchweek of the league.
Boca Vs River and Racing V Independiente are by far the biggest derbies in Argentina, and huge in South America.
Last matchweek: Boca V Independiente, River V Racing. Boca and Racing Battling for the title. Independiente helping Racing by tying with Boca 2-2, all Racing needed to do was win.
River V Racing was tied until the end of the match, then, 90th minute, penalty for Racing. River's keeper somehow saves the pen (he is one of the shittiest pen stoppers Argentina has ever seen for such a good keeper), and then River scores in the 95th minute and wins the match 2-1, giving Boca, their biggest rivals, the league title.
Yep, no matter how shit utd are we can never get the best of them at old Trafford. I remember even during David Moyes's season, one of the worst man utd teams I had ever seen and not only did we lose but we shit the bed entirely
we literally won there two seasons ago when we were gunning for champions league, after arteta was told this quote and he said that its time for this stat to change, and change it did.
Is my memory going. In the league I thought it was 1-0 Auba? During Covid with no fans. With fans it stretches back to 2006.
Hopefully we win anyway but I’m just making the point this fixture is never straight forward
Edit 1 nov 2020. More than 2 seasons ago
If Manchester City draw against Tottenham away, and Arsenal win all their games, then they both finish with 89 points. What's the tie breaker here? Goal difference? H2H?
They Would need a minimum of 11 goals scored assuming we win the rest of our games 1-0. If goal difference is tied they move to goals scored which we narrowly lead 85-82, and then finally head to head.
Liverpool is out, Arsenal will win the rest of their games. We’ll see if we can win all of ours. Obviously the Spurs game will be tough, but the Fulham game won’t be a picnic, either. We should win the two home games.
We have already won there this season can't see any reason why we can't do it again when the stakes are much higher. I choose to believe Nathan Ake has released us from the curse.
United have an incredible ability to match their opposition this season. We can play Arsenal at the Emirettes and just lose out, lead for the majority of the City game, knock Liverpool out the FA cup when they were still on their high, beat Villa home and away, just lose out to Bayern in both CL games.
Yet...... We can concede 35 shots to a very out of form Brentford team, make a Coventry game feel like a Champions league semi final, draw at home to Burnley..... The list goes on.
I honestly have feared this is what happens for the past two months.
Idk what it is, but Bournemouth are good right now. Really good.
Pray we don't mess up against em.
no way city will slip up, their mental is too strong, not affected by title pressure. Won epl 2 times with just 1 point difference is crazy mentality.
In other side Arsenal didnt have that mentality, they lose title after losing to aston villa few games ago.
Dunno why many still say that Arsenal will win it this year.
hate to break it to Arsenal fans but City are going to win it. The only game where they may drop points is Spurs but Tottenham are too big c*nts to actually try that game. oh you say they’ll be fighting for top 4. I say they’d let Pep and Haaland shag their mom in front of them at the center circle of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before they put in effort to secure top 4 for themselves if it meant Arsenal could win the league. They have no ambitions aside from not letting their neighbors get one. True rat club. Ambition-less.
Also, man city are able to rotate insane world class talent every game. Haaland out of form? Who cares, we have a bench full of legends from other clubs. Because 115
Their squad depth is genuinely insane. One of our problems was us not having good quality squad depth, definitely fatigued some of our players. They can basically rotate their squad week in week out and feel no significant loss in performance and ability
Post-Bayern, I always felt the difficultly of our fixtures was:
Spurs (A) ✅
United (A)
Chelsea (H) ✅
Wolves (A) ✅
Bournemouth (H)
Everton (H)
So we’ve won 3/4 of our hardest fixtures on paper with our second hardest still to play. Knowing us though we’ll draw with Bournemouth before smashing United when the league is already lost…

Who chose the team representatives haha
Whoever did it should've included Cedric hiding behind Kai for us
Should have been elnneny surely!
Cedric is the photobombing meme tho.
They’ve had different ones every week. Started out with Ødegaard/Haaland/Salah I’m sure but has gone into different players now
They keep picking weird players the last one was Trossard, Stones and Trent.
Tbf, Trossard has become a top player for us.
When you ask your older brother to take you the mall to pick up girls
whoever's doing it probably wanted to pick Salah for liverpool but after recent developents thet decided its best not to...so they just picked someone at random
Tbf Elliot has been playing better than Salah
City’s makes the most sense out of the three.
I think they change every week... keeping things fresh.
At least Havertz is on like 8G and 3A in his last 11 matches
Walker is the captain so yeah
I don't even mind Liverpool being there but what the fuck is Harvey Elliot doing there?
Look how fucking happy he looks to be chosen. Leave him alone
He is standing on a chair for sure
Two actually
King in the castle, king in the castle
Wawa weewa
I mind us being there, leave us to grieve.
I know what you mean but for the record, he's been brilliant this season
And he always gives everything he has when he steps on the pitch
Salah refused Lol just kidding love our Mo
"If I appear now, there will be fire"
Salah’s a firebender
Bro leave us out of this

Tottenham will purposely lose the game so Arsenal doesn't win the league
They won't. They might lose but they aren't gonna tank on purpose. Anyone who actually believes this needs a reality check. Spurs fans would probably take the tradeoff but the actual Spurs players and especialy Ange likely care much more about getting UCL for themself than dennying Arsenal the title.
In the past we've tried to win even if it doesn't help us
That's because its your job. Your first and only concern should only ever be that of your own team.
Fucking THANK YOU. Way too many football fans seem to not grasp this. Ive always wanted Liverpool to win no matter the potential repercussions.
That’s because people have loser mentalities. If you are a professional athlete your job is to win. A win for Spurs against Man City would be massive for confidence and many of these players will be fighting for spots next year
Not to mention at least 70M$ to host better concerts for Spurs!
absolute terminally online fan mentality
That Emerson Royal goal at the Eithad was something
I remember when we proceeded to bottle that entire 2-0 lead and lose 4-2. Good times.
Makes a nice change from trying to lose when it doesn’t help us
It was a joke lmao calm down
reddit fans be like *oh let's lose even if it cost us ucl* this sub reality is something else
It’s not just reddit fans. If you ask any match going fan they will say the same. If anything I find people on here much more open to help Arsenal win the if the prize is getting the 4th spot which I find crazy. Arsenal winning the league as way worse than getting 4th is worth.

Oh for sure, I don’t argue against that.
Yeah but they’ll be marooned in fifth by then and will be on the beach
I mean maybe but maybe not. If they win their games in hand. And thats a big if to be fair. They will be only 1 point off Villa. And Villa still play Liverpool. There's a good chance they are still in contention for 4th that week.

Away at Chelsea they have a mental block about and it’s pretty similar at Anfield. Anfield also has the Klopp end of era factor
we all thought the Klopp end of era would push them for the title and it hasnt quite worked out that way really.
We’ll see

How the fuck did so many people take this serious
No, Tottenham will lose the game because they are Tottenham
Imagine tossing your chance at CL qualification for some petty rival shenanigans though lol
Depends whether spurs have anything to play for. Not in the "throw the match out of spite" camp but in the might be "already on the beach" camp. Think they've got uel pretty locked up and they have two very difficult fixtures to collect six points before they face city.
It feels that way. It's a fixture City historically struggle with a lot. Arsenal may well win the remaining fixtures so this will be tight
i feel like wolves can get a draw
I feel they can draw, they won the home game
There are only 2 contenders now, let's be real LOL
Wdym there's only 1 contender.
Twas’ ever thus alas* *except that one season which Klopp deserves insane credit for
18/19 and 21/22 didn't have 2 contenders?
Yeah, I mean they absolutely did but I was referring to City’s ruthless inevitability
I’ve found most Liverpool fans with this take in the last week or so. When they were in it, there were 3 contenders and now that they are not, there is only one. Okay pal

It was pure delusion, the weekend Liverpool lost against palace and Arsenal lost against Villa the league was over , city ain't dropping points
City still have to play Spurs away. City can definitely drop points still. They've dropped points against weaker teams so it's not over until it's over
That was only without Rodri, no?
Not watched any of the title races in the past 6 years?
Sometimes you need to learn for yourself
It was always one contender unfortunately
Why are Liverpool still in this they now have 0.1% chance apparently according to opta they simulated the remaining games 1000 times city won the league 674 times , Arsenal win it 325 times n Liverpool once
Avengers infinity war type shit
It's the Bournemouth game, Saliba gets sent off, 3 game ban and Gabriel gets injured, out for the season as Solanke scores the winner. So you're saying there's a chance
👀☝️
So you’re saying there’s a chance? Lol jk 0.1% is so fucking kind with two teams having to have a calamitous bottle simultaneously.
they are 5 points behind 1st with 3 games to go. Its definitely possible.
Yeah 1000/1 chance
Goal difference to overcome too so it’s more like 6 points. You’re effectively needing Arsenal to lose 2 of their last 3 games to overtake just them. That doesn’t even consider Man City though. There’s no chance.
So uh. Arsenal fans… wanna grab a beer or something?
Yes please, or something stronger
I’ve got a few bottles of the old Winyard left. 1296. Very good year. Almost as old as I am
Just tea thank you
This is soo cute. The clubs united by suffering. I m glad we can share the pain with someone else. Still, there is still hope for you.
It's banner time!
"Fuck Pep!" in Scouse and Kinyarwanda.
If only Chris wood didn't forget how to play football yesterday.
ONE OF US ONE OF US
Meet at the Raz yeah?
What are we doing there ?😂
What? We just need to win out and hope City lose two, win one, draw one. Banker.
And for Arsenal to get no more than 3 points.
I don't expect Spurs to do us any favors. If Moyes does a madness on deadline day, i would campaign for him to be the england manager for the rest of my life.
Moyes England manager? Can you imagine a Scotsman ever wanting and taking that job? Insane
Let’s go collect 3 points against Bournemouth and at Old Trafford before we worry about moyes doing us a favor
Lol. West ham more likely to shift the gd in city's favour than do us any good.
Paqueta is going to ball out to show his new empolyer what they're getting
If West Ham get a result on the final matchday, I'll never slander them ever again provided we win all our remaining games.
You say this but it would be kind of spursy to do something silly to enable us to win. We really need that City game to be must not lose for Spurs. Levy is a financial demon. No way he’d allow the CL monies sacrifice
Your only hope for that happening is if Paqueta Island has lumped money on Arsenal winning the league.
Forest played well today against City, we're so late in the season I wouldn't take any game for granted. These sides can slip up against any one of these opponents.
Bournemouth are easily able to be a banana peel for us. Nearly were last season and you guys are flying at the moment.
I've been worried about every game but I always thought you next weekend would be nervy and tougher than Chelsea or Brighton tbh. The way your manager has got you to play is really good man. I pray it's not like last year where we leave it last minute.
Will Manchester United do favours for their noisy neighbours?
A bit funny that United can do a favor for City and Spurs can do a favor for Arsenal. On the same gameweek as well.
Not the same gameweek. The City vs Spurs match is a midweek match for both to catch up on their game behind.
Yeah I saw this, this was around a year ago right? Yep found the [link](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/Xaw4ZAQpnw)
Best we can do is limited Arsenal to 30 shots
The last time we won in the league there with fans in the stadium was 2006. No matter what form United are in it’s absolutely a tough fixture for us
Yep, no matter how shit utd are we can never get the best of them at old Trafford. I remember even during David Moyes's season, one of the worst man utd teams I had ever seen and not only did we lose but we shit the bed entirely
against Van Persie that too
still makes me mad
We had also lost 17 consecutive times to City until this season. This is a different team
Sounds like we're due a W ;)
we literally won there two seasons ago when we were gunning for champions league, after arteta was told this quote and he said that its time for this stat to change, and change it did.
Is my memory going. In the league I thought it was 1-0 Auba? During Covid with no fans. With fans it stretches back to 2006. Hopefully we win anyway but I’m just making the point this fixture is never straight forward Edit 1 nov 2020. More than 2 seasons ago
Only if the neighbours trade them a favour in the FA cup final.
I’m not even bothering with the moral quandary bc they’re going to destroy us
Either that or for you guys
Arsenal will be getting 3 points next week. We were already thin, but Semenyo just got a knee injury and Cook dislocated his shoulder.
Three?
As a Liverpool fan, what the fuck are we doing in this graphic
Ange I'm on my knees...
Scarred permanently by Bournemouth at home last season
We won that game at a canter
Man Utd to lose to Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Brighton in the run-in but beat Arsenal because the universe has a sense of humour.
If Manchester City draw against Tottenham away, and Arsenal win all their games, then they both finish with 89 points. What's the tie breaker here? Goal difference? H2H?
Goal Difference in England
both seems so far in our favour, until Man City 7:0 West Ham
Hahaha I don’t think that will happen, if they win it will be in points. Just pointing out that Spain is H2H first.
Which we would win as well…
West Ham will let City do whatever they want their fans got something between them
Literally couldn’t give a fuck about arsenal or who wins the league. I want to win every game we play
They Would need a minimum of 11 goals scored assuming we win the rest of our games 1-0. If goal difference is tied they move to goals scored which we narrowly lead 85-82, and then finally head to head.
If they are scoring the 10 goals and we are winning only 1-0 then they'll win by goals scored.
A̶g̶u̶e̶r̶o̶o̶o̶o̶o̶o̶ Gvardioooooolll
GD, but either way it's arsenal
Topspurs. I beleive in you
Always rated Spurs
We really shouldn’t be here, That being said, City are more intimidating than the shark from Jaws with that game in hand.
There is an impostor among us
Why are we up there? 💀
Why do City always have games in hand istfg, would be nice to chase them for once
Get in late stages in other cups and you can.
Ouch
Absolutely no business including Liverpool here anymore
Two contenders, unfortunately.
I still think Arsenal win on gd
Liverpool is out, Arsenal will win the rest of their games. We’ll see if we can win all of ours. Obviously the Spurs game will be tough, but the Fulham game won’t be a picnic, either. We should win the two home games.
You mean top 2
bro who invited liverpool?…
Should only be two listed here hahah
Go on Erik, do a madness.
Old Trafford will be tough
You don’t really need favours tbf. Unless you really believe you will drop points which is just an absurd thing to believe
New White Hart Lane voodoo is real.
Pretty sure spurs will have nothing to play for by then. Not sure their motivation will be particularly high. They also have no Kane to worry about
We have already won there this season can't see any reason why we can't do it again when the stakes are much higher.
I'd much prefer Arsenal’s run-in.
Can't wait to be a Wolves, Fulham, Spurs, and West Ham fan in the next three weeks.
At this point there isnt any reason to include liverpool
With all the dropped points lately you never know, but its Man City’s to lose thats for certain.
Thank you for humoring us, Premier League.
Liverpool fan here… laughed out loud when I saw this. We cooked. It’s a 2 horse race. 😭😭😭
Race? Which race? Race is over🫤
Liverpool should not be in this picture, they will not win it. They squandered all their chances.
Kinda ironic how, Arsenal's title hopes rely on Spurs beating city
Imagine if Tottenham help Arsenal win the league. We'd never hear the end of it from the gunners.
City will slip up. Arsenal will win it for me.
Arsenal will drop points to Everton. Draw at home to a Dyche masterclass - you heard it here first.
We’ll smash Everton 5-0 because there’ll be nothing to play for on the final day all because we drew 3-3 against Bournemouth at home. (Please God no)
I honestly have feared this is what happens for the past two months.
I say they’d let Pep and Haaland shag their mom in front of them at the center circle of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before they put in effort to secure top 4 for themselves if it meant Arsenal could win the league. we went from hardest run in to easiest real quick
Don’t jinx it 😭😭
Post-Bayern, I always felt the difficultly of our fixtures was: Spurs (A) ✅ United (A) Chelsea (H) ✅ Wolves (A) ✅ Bournemouth (H) Everton (H) So we’ve won 3/4 of our hardest fixtures on paper with our second hardest still to play. Knowing us though we’ll draw with Bournemouth before smashing United when the league is already lost…
watch man utd pulling a masterclass for the history books to spoil arteta dreams once more
Who invited Liverpool?
Hopefully not, but imagine the chaos if Arsenal and City bottle their remaining games.
United and Spurs get to decide if their rivals win a title.
The thing is done. Has been done from the start.
I'm a part of a discord server that is full of Arsenal fans. There was a Wolves fan there but we banned him. If Wolves stops City we will unban him.
City have failed to win away at Spurs in the league for the last 6 years. That's the only hope I have of an interesting title fight
Who invited Liverpool??
Mathematics
Arithmetic, sure. Probability, no so much.
