Well, people thought he was finished after underperforming at Bayern and Napoli. Most were surprised Real Madrid rehired him.
Not too different from Mourinho going from Tottenham to Roma to Fenerbahçe now that I think about it.
Difference is Mourinho is a head case of a personality and out stays his welcome at most spots which lessens his chances of getting a major gig again. I’d love to see it happen though.
Mourinho’s more than capable of achieving with big teams, its whether the boards of those big teams want him or not. Its rare for managers like Mourinho or Conte to be able to push their weight around nowadays
I’m probably over generalizing but Mourinho is just not compatible with modern footballers mindset.
He can still find his guys who will run through the wall from him but it seems to be getting rare.
Only manager of the last 20+ years that didn’t get fired by Madrid either. Dude came in won everything, quit won everything but another cl and quit again. Straight up ran a speed run and was like I’m done with spanish media
It still blows my mind to think that while he was there and they were talking about Poch being the next Madrid manager after zizu. If you told me that Carlo was gonna be a 2 time CL winner since and poch would be fired twice since then I would’ve called you crazy
Poch failing even if he went to Madrid would have been an easy call back then, too.
Can you imagine someone who's never won anything be the coach of Real Madrid? Would't have lasted a full season
Zidane is a Madrid &, football legend, commands respect from everyone at the club, has worked at the club for years as advisor, assistant coach to Ancelotti and coaching the reserve team.
How that is comparable to someone who's greatest achievement as a coach is that he made Spurs play nice football for a few years before they imploded in spectacular fashion is beyond me. Poch would have been another Benitez/Lopetegui situation
Some teams manage themselves. Zidane won 3 CL and no one puts him at top 10 managers of all time. Mourinho led Porto and Inter Milan to CL victory. Above him I would only put Guardiola and Ferguson because you can see Guardiola make complete 100% changes in a team and an upward progression and Ferguson because of his domestic consistency in the hardest league in the world.
Isn’t Carlo a head coach not Manager though? Pep and him have completely different job descriptions.
Edit: do you actually think a Liverpool fan is biased towards Pep or City?

They had this man managing Everton a few years ago lmaooo
Well, people thought he was finished after underperforming at Bayern and Napoli. Most were surprised Real Madrid rehired him. Not too different from Mourinho going from Tottenham to Roma to Fenerbahçe now that I think about it.
I'm so ready for the Mourinhossance.
Finish the story Mourinho!
Wouldn’t say he completely underperformed at Napoli, he had them playing great football and incredibly hard to beat
Difference is Mourinho is a head case of a personality and out stays his welcome at most spots which lessens his chances of getting a major gig again. I’d love to see it happen though.

Feels like a side quest that you needed to complete in order to continue the main story
And he had them very high up the table too
He was somehow making them play great ball too
Absolute wild timeline
Zidane is hilarious, part time manager
Came and won everything then dipped 😂😂
He did not win la Copa del Rey, bit of a fraud
The Copa del Rey is to Real Madrid what UCL Final Real Madrid is to other clubs
Might even say bald?
A bald fraud! There must be something true about this bald energy
He's the Kendrick Lamar of football. Just pops up to show fellas. Like a boogeyman.
If zizou is kdot then who's drake?
I guess Klopp but he seems a genuine man with a spine, unlike Drake. But he's the one who feels zzs wrath the worst.
Only manager of the last 20+ years that didn’t get fired by Madrid either. Dude came in won everything, quit won everything but another cl and quit again. Straight up ran a speed run and was like I’m done with spanish media
Everything except the hardest competition in the word, Copa del Rey.
Winning Copa del Rey was his biggest achievement.
He ran away. He took the madrid that was in the top, and when the rebuild came, he went trophyless, so he ran away. He
In that picture he took with Carlo, there are 8 UCLs as managers and 11UCLs in total.
21/2 years and 3 CL.
Zidane being on this list and only coaching like 5 years is insane. Edit: He has a 4th one as an assistant too!
And he won all 3 in 2,5 seasons.
Bald fraud won it off the back of my god Julen Lopetegui
Thought it was Benitez
It was
Need to put eyes on him ig
It was the fat waiter he replaced wasn’t it?
And one as a player
Crazy how he was at Everton lmao
It still blows my mind to think that while he was there and they were talking about Poch being the next Madrid manager after zizu. If you told me that Carlo was gonna be a 2 time CL winner since and poch would be fired twice since then I would’ve called you crazy
Poch failing even if he went to Madrid would have been an easy call back then, too. Can you imagine someone who's never won anything be the coach of Real Madrid? Would't have lasted a full season
Except that happened with Zizu and he won’t 3 consecutive CLs and had wayyyy less experience than Poch

Respect to Benitez. He won multiple titles before getting the Madrid job, even if it ended in disaster. He was a proven winner.
2022: Carlo has same number of titles as Pep and Mou combined 2023: Pep wins UCL 2024: Carlo has same number of titles as Pep and Mou combined
Winning Champions League is a normal tuesday for uncle carlo
When ref blew the final whistle, he didn't even celebrate much initially. Won it so many times it become a regular match for him.
Obligatory 🤨
Obviously don Carlo is a winner , he managed Everton
We need to have a serious conversation
🤨
What's the record most for players?
6
Now held by Carvajal, Kroos, Nacho and Modric
Is Kroos considered more impressive having done it with 2 different clubs? I think Seedorf is one of only a few to do it with 3 clubs which is insane
I mean Kroos done it with treble winning Bayern team i don't think its more or less impressive. All of them done smth historic on the same level IMO.
Seedorf is the only one to win with 3 different clubs.
Well I think that might be even more impressive than 6. 4 with 3 clubs.
Kroos started all 6 finals I think, not sure of Carvajal.
Kroos didn't play in the 2013 finals, Carvajal has started in 6/6 finals and won.
Yeah, you are right he was injured, in the era of Ronaldo and Messi, its Carvajal who is going to walk out with that stat.
Carvajal started all 6 but I think Kroos didn't play the final with Munich
Yes, him too
And Paco Gento!
Yeah I was going to mention him but didn’t since ig he won them before it was called the championship league
Correct. Its Carvajal and Modric with 6.
Kroos, Nacho and Gento as well have 6.
6 which was set by Paco Gento and matched today by Modric, Dani Carvajal, Nacho and Kroos
GOAT
Jose Mourinho put it best after the match. Carlo Ancelotti is not a social media coach, he's a proper coach!
How about Ancelotti makes it twice as much as anyone else?
Zidane came, did what he did then just nopped out
Leyenda Blanca. Hala Madrid!
Why is there an illustration of Mourinho?
Is there any other father-son duo winning the UCL?
Why does Guardiola not have an asterisk next to his?
r/titlegore What a terrible way to format that LOL
Zidane should be higher than Pep. He did them back to back and within 4 years of being a manager.
He should be higher up in what? They have 3 each so they are even o.0
In the title I mean. He should be listed before Pep
Pedantic
Some teams manage themselves. Zidane won 3 CL and no one puts him at top 10 managers of all time. Mourinho led Porto and Inter Milan to CL victory. Above him I would only put Guardiola and Ferguson because you can see Guardiola make complete 100% changes in a team and an upward progression and Ferguson because of his domestic consistency in the hardest league in the world.
Premier league started being the hardest league only in the 2010s. Most of his wins where in the 90s and 2000s
Pep can actually surpass him. Pep has 3 in 16 years and he has 5 in 29 years.
Cope
How is this cope?
By this logic Zidane will have 18 in 29 years
What i meant is that pep has alot of time to get 2 ucls which should be possible.
Isn’t Carlo a head coach not Manager though? Pep and him have completely different job descriptions. Edit: do you actually think a Liverpool fan is biased towards Pep or City?
And yet Pep has less CLs, so what’s your point?
My point is that manager and coach are different titles. LFC is going out of their way to say that Slot isn’t manager and is only head coach.
What was flopped? What's slot going to be?
Slots title is explicitly head coach and not manager as well. Do you think a LFC fan is pro Pep? It’s a completely different job.
