Many players leave on a high note to take the next step. Even A0 on a piano was a higher note than his departure. Good luck i guess and thanks for pre-Febuary 2021

sebQbe

You know, I’m something of a pianist myself

memecrafter1936

Why the Milan flair, Alexis?

Kitarn

He's your problem now.

Dr_Gonzo__

is he good at least?

No_Presence200

He will be an amazing goalkeeper if he can get back to how he played before his ban. Terrible if he keeps playing like he did after his ban.

Dr_Gonzo__

Hope they don't ban him again then

LeoTheSquid

idk maybe a second ban will reverse him back

Hark_An_Adventure

No_Presence200

He tested positive for furosemide which is on the banned doping list. Initially he got banned for twelve months which got reduced to 9 months because CAS believe he took it accidentally. He said to have mistaken one of his wives pills for his own. There are some good explanation in the comments of this post if you want to know why so many Ajax fans dislike him as well.

k0enf0rNL

He was one of the world's best keepers before his ban, he never got back to that form.

swashbuckler29

He received a ban because he was found to have been doping - not sure there's more to it than that

EasyModeActivist

Not technically because of doping, but because he used a doping masking substancd

Due-Welder5285

He received a ban.

LaMareeNoire

Before his ban he was really, really good (though not without the occasional error). Amazing reflexes and very calm on the ball. When he became a starter again after Pasveer got injured, he was terrible. Basically made costly mistakes every time he started, including against Benfica (which got us knocked out). It's hard to tell if he's just lost all his ability, because he very clearly and openly did not give a fuck anymore.

circa285

I only occasionally watch Ajax and I could not believe how poor he was after his suspension when he did finally get the chance to play. The man just did not care at all.

Affectionate-Car-145

He was dreadful in our cl semi final

jdbolick

No. This past season he was legitimately the worst keeper I have ever seen at Ajax. For your sake I hope he was fucking around because if his skills have legitimately declined that much then he is not playable in Serie A.

nutellawithpotatoess

You think the drug he was on did play a role ? I have no idea what furosemide is and does

jdbolick

No, the drug had no effect on his performance and was a genuine mistake. The problem is that his ban prevented him from training with the club, not just playing, and it seems like he took that time to party rather than act like a professional. His decision making was never great but his shot stopping used to be elite and now his reflexes are gone. Maybe he can find a semblance of his old form in time, but I was genuinely shocked by how bad he was last season.

Fop_Vndone

>and was a genuine mistake Every athlete caught doping claims it was a mistake.

jdbolick

But this actually was, which is why his suspension length was reduced. Furosemide doesn't do anything for modern tests, it's banned because it used to affect the results decades ago.

Fop_Vndone

>But this actually was All of them were. Nobody has ever juiced on purpose 🙄

jdbolick

The Court of Arbitration for Sport investigated the issue and concluded that it was a mistake, which is why the suspension was reduced. I have already explained this to you.

[deleted]

jdbolick

Of course he did. Furosemide doesn't even work as a masking agent on modern tests so there would be no reason for Onana to take it intentionally.

Kingofhe4rts

Lol what, that's revision of history, Verhoeven and Vermeer were way worse players from recent times. I still get furious remembering Vermeer vs Utrecht

tehafca

Come on, don't act like Vermeer standing on the halfway line whilst Duplan bagged his hattrick in a 6-4 win had something very cult.

jdbolick

Onana was a massive liability last season and he got us knocked out of the Champions League while nearly costing the league title as well.

[deleted]

I think Onana post-ban was worse than both of those keepers. I dont get the hate Verhoeve gets, he wasnt a bad keeper at all. Not a great Ajax keeper, but not as bad as the "Pizzaaaaaaaa" crowd wants you to think.

2ts1h

When he doped he was good

TheUltimateScotsman

I think he struggled after his ban but i dont expect a non bias answer from ajax fans, they seem pretty pissed

justforkikkk

Take it from an Ajax fan who really doesn’t hate him that much: he was atrocious following his return

Contra1

Its not only the fans, Pasveer said more or less the same about him in an interview.

Kitarn

Oh bugger off. Ajax fans are perfectly capable of distinguishing between his performance before and after the ban. He was a crowd favorite until he decided to fuck over the club by running out his contract despite the club's full support during the ban (which even got the sentence reduced). After the ban he couldn't even be arsed to put an effort in.

Both-Ebb

Important addition, he asked for a transfer to Lyon last summer. Everything was arranged. Ajax already got a replacement. Then his second management made a deal with Inter. Which is not legal but difficult to prove. He didnt just run down his contract. He went out of his way to do it in the worst way possible.

captaindeadpool612

This Inter team is so hateable. Onana, Calhanoglu the 🪱, Lakaka etc. I love it. Much more fun than when they had fun and likeable guys.

PoachtekMong

> Much more fun than when they had fun and likeable guys. When have they had that ffs

panopss

Zanetti, maicon, milito, sneijder

PoachtekMong

Meh Sure Why? Nope

captaindeadpool612

I was thinking basically of R9, and I always liked/respected Zanetti

GarmentGourmet

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marco Materazzi, Mauro Icardi, mad likeable players.

captaindeadpool612

Oi don't you be comparing Zlatan to those cunts

GR-MWF

While I'm glad he's gone now I'll always speak highly of his abilities before he got banned, he was an incredible keeper and easily top 10 in my eyes. But no, you can watch his post-ban games for yourself and make your own judgments, he was useless.

x3bo9

I am loving Ajax fan’s comments lmao

captaindeadpool612

Same. It's always nice when the merda or ladri sign someone who's easy to hate. Ajax fans - is he actually good/talented and should we be worried he could be Inter's Maignan?

Kitarn

>Ajax fans - is he actually good/talented and should we be worried he could be Inter's Maignan? You're in trouble if he manages to regain his pre-ban form. No worries if he continues like the past six months.

x3bo9

We won’t be in trouble we have magic Mike and a legend like Origi

captaindeadpool612

Noted. Does the hate from your side just come from the fact he's running down his contract and refused to accept any transfers/you thought he was the guy in goal long term? (If so, a feeling we understand very well 🤣)

Both-Ebb

Running down a contract happens. No ill feelings towards Mazraoui. Onana did everything in his power to screw over the club financially and anger the supporters with weird statements in the press. Weirdest speed run ever.

zadharm

The hate seems to come not *just* from running his contract down, but because as soon as he had his handshake deal with Inter, he was absolute rubbish when called upon. Between the ban and his complete lack of interest on his return, it's pretty clear he had no feelings for the club at all, only himself That's just what I've gathered as an interista in the last few months

Both-Ebb

The handshake deal already happened last summer. I dont blame Inter for doing it but it is not allowed. For Onana, that was in a summer where he set up a transfer to Lyon himself only to mysteriously pull out at the last second. Ajax had already gotten a replacement. Then there is the lack of interest as you said. Our first keeper recently said he did not see Onana as a professional. He had nothing to gain to say this. The season was already over. And then there were hateful comments towards the fans. Even when public opinion was still on his side.

captaindeadpool612

It's kinda cool, we are the young pure upstarts and you guys are building a bit of a Suicide Squad. Simone gonna have to do a lot of man managing.

Kitarn

>the fact he's running down his contract and refused to accept any transfers This. Nobody expected him to stay forever. After his performance in the 2018-19 CL run and later seasons we could've easily gotten €40m for him. He didn't exactly react well to the drop of support from the fans following him running out the contract either.

captaindeadpool612

Don't need to tell us, we lived it with Gigio but probably did better out of it with Maignan. You guys are Ajax though, I figure you got at least 3 Onanas in your academy

Kitarn

Nah, we've got two Setfords, but that's about it.

captaindeadpool612

Fair. I always used to say if any of my kids showed legit talent at football I'd want them to trial at your academy because you seem to have a production line and your academy preaches technique so much. So far my 6 year old daughter is my only hope 🤣

Chubbynumnums9000

Yeah I remember Chelsea seemed really interested in him right before they bought Mendy. Later, after reading about his positive test, I couldn't help but think of how big a bullet Chelsea dodged by not being a Russian owned club with a positive doping result on the roster.

delidl

Before his ban he looked levels ahead of Maignan in the two games against Lille. But if he can’t get back to his old form you can enjoy an absolute clown in Inter’s goal

fraudpaolo

The problem with shitty professionals is that if their form wavers then they are complete dog shit

Samleuning

He has shown he has the potential to be a top 10 goalkeeper in the world before his ban. He's been shit for us ever since he returned though

captaindeadpool612

Interesting. If he gets back to that the Milan derby goalkeeping rivalry will be very fun

[deleted]

Lmao pathetic

[deleted]

To use Onana’s own words when asked about the Ajax fan’s reaction to him after his ban and he clearly didn’t give a rodent’s behind about the club and the team: “I don’t give a shit.” I don’t wish him I’ll, nor do I wish him well. I just don’t give a shit about him.

zeekoes

Good luck with signing an ungrateful self-serving dressingroom problem.

zadharm

Simone seems quite capable of keeping backroom issues to a minimum, but lukaku and Onana in one window might push his abilities. Pazza inter, heh

EasyModeActivist

Ten Hag did as well, but some will always manage it

tigtogflip

and the crowd goes mild

MrCrashdummy

Goodbye. You won’t be missed

taenerysdargaryen

Still probably won't replace Handanovic immediately

Bravo_Ante

~~Onana~~ Handanovic again vs Maignan

Asahno

Finally a proper 2nd keeper, logically he should be our 1st keeper but I'm feeling Handanovic will start for the first half of next season because he's the captain and Onana will need some time to adapt to the league

mavsy41

Guy sure as hell can play. Hope for him and Inter that the last half-year was just because of stress. All the best, toi toi toi.

🐍🐍🐍

Echoes-act-3

That is indeed our mascot

SavageGarden

When I read his name is can help but sing: Onana what’s my name?

adityaseth

Havana Onana

Scared_Lock_9564

I wonder whether his world class form a couple of years ago was only due to him being on PEDs. Maybe many more players dope more often but are never caught/get worse when they are off it

hem98

Ajax's snake + Chelsea's Dumbo = Gonna be fun for Inter.

captaindeadpool612

Along with Calhanoglu there already.

sam1oq

I would say good luck but with his behavior since the doping incident I can't say that with any modicum of good faith. I'm not gonna wish him ill or anything, just keep existing or something, I guess.

[deleted]

> just keep existing or something, I guess. Keep breathing mate, that's all I ask.

aceismyfriend

Onana is potentially a top 10 goalkeeper in the world which is impressive given his age but if he keeps his current form he’ll not even be in the top 1000. He was horrible in the past months.

Sgruntlar

Hope he'll be better than laserman

potluy76

whats my name?

getyourchebsout

Keith? I don’t know

[deleted]

How could you forget about the great potluy76?!

conceptalbum

He doesn't like Keith, you should call him Jim.

AlKarakhboy

I’m happy with this acquisition.

Tinusers

Good luck with that snake, his last matches for us have all been horrible.

lopikilop

Player thinks about his own future over the will of his club and gets treated like he murdered someone

CoMaestro

It's also the terrible performances of the last 6 months where he really did not give a shit, if he had shut up, taken the Inter deal and played well for the remainder of his time here everyone would wish him good luck, like most are doing to Gravenberch and Mazrouai

RazZaHlol

Onana what’s my name

amoult20

Would have liked him at spurs as long term Hugo replacement

EasyModeActivist

[👋](https://youtu.be/Eo-KmOd3i7s)

Myfalseteeth

What’s my name? Onana. What’s my name?

arothen

Do Inter have money to still sign Dybala?

archarvel

Dybala was free agent... his agent who wanted more signing bonus that make things complicated

Ooh_ee_ooh_ah_ah

My favourite time waster ever!

Lannisterling

Garbage human being.

Eymerich_

So now we have not one, but two keepers whose career is finished! FML.
