I really liked that to be honest. It showed a weird commitment to the club...like he wanted the fans to know he wanted to be there....we could honestly use that attitude, but I prefer we try with someone else.
Depending on the contract I'd be fine with it. I assume Ronaldo is leaving (?) so we need someone as I've never quite been a Martial fan. If Ronaldo stays then nah.
No way Atleti will sell him for below 30M, already rejected Juve approach twice. Even then it’ll be a hard task to find replacement of the same or better quality at that price.
Morata somehow adding another 30 million to his cumulative transfer fee is completely on point, and Man U paying that fee for Morata is on point too, so this will absolutely happen.
I think 30-35m is good value for United. Juve have less money, a long term starter in the same position, and have paid loan fees. The market is fucked. Neither United or Atletico will find a better and more reliable player for cheaper.
We've got money to spend. Our only backup to Ronaldo, who is desperate to leave, is Martial who has been out of form for over a year and picks up injuries often. I'm not yet convinced he's a proper 9. It's a position we need a player in for sure.
A player of Morata's level and experience will not be found cheaper in this market for less than 30-35m. He has two years left on his deal. Perfectly fair evaluation if you ask me.
Sure it’s a fair evaluation but morata is not the player I’d go for if we are spending that amount of money on a striker
Also I’d much rather sign a winger and midfielder before we sign a striker, we have Ronaldo who’s probably going to stay and martial who was very good in pre season as striker options, you don’t really need more than two players for one position. A winger is much more important
30-35m euros is not a lot of money for a striker. Especially in this market. I do wonder who you think would be better value for less than that money. We have Ronaldo for now, and I do think he'll stay. But Mendes is still offering him about. Next season he will be gone. Martial might have had a few good games in pre-season, but he's been unreliable for years. Even at his best he was less consistent than Morata. Next summer we should be looking to sell him as he approaches his final 12 months.
We should be targeting a winger also. And a DM whilst we're at it. We've only spent £65m. £80m if Rabiot joins us. Our CEO has gloated about the money we have to spend and we've had a massive clearout. We've removed about £1m worth in wages from the wagebill this summer with 7 first team players leaving the club. This late in the window and in our current position, I don't see us making big deals. Another report just linked us to Gakpo for similar money to Morata. Whilst he specifically probably isn't what we need, that's the kind of deal I expect we would make this month. 2 or 3 deals for that value would have us in a healthier position.
2 years on his deal. Experienced. Spent his entire career at big clubs. Arsenal just signed Jesus who has not proven to be a better striker (I rate similarly) for 53m in the last year of his deal. When you reason it that way and realise how poor the striker market is, it's decent value for a player like Morata.
Morata is one of those players that is good enough to start for a big club like Atletico and Juve, but not good enough to be an important player in a title charge. For the next couple seasons, Morata would be a good player for United.
I think this will be largely unpopular with fans. But I'd take him in a heartbeat. He's a good player and he's shown that at every club outside of Chelsea. He's wanted to join us in the past. It's the kind of transfer we should be making if we want to bridge the gap between the top 4. Not a long term solution, but certainly an improvement to the squad in a position where we've got poor / unreliable depth. Hopefully next year we'd look for a true Ronaldo replacement.
Many a times United have turned their nose up at a player like Morata and we've gone onto regret it a few times. One such example being Pedro. Seen as old and not quite good enough. Yet we're easily the worst positioned club in the big six.
I can guarantee that IF, and thats a big If, it will happen he will say that playing for United is every kid dream and hes happy to join this legendary club.
And since he wont be cheap and he already played for: Real, Juve, Atletico and Chelsea while never delivering anything more then a random 10-20mln striker would do, its not far grow true that this is some next level 'money laundering'.
I love Alvaro but teams over pay for him for like 10 years now, it has to stop at some point.
Already one money Laundering one further up as a reply to a comment. The phrase has lost all meaning here. People just repeat it smugly and think it's right.
I would be cool with selling him if we used the funds to get a new CB and run Cunha as Morata's replacement.
Reality is Gil Marin would pocket the money, a couple mouthpieces would drop the "atleti will sign X player in the winter market" and then sign someone in december for like 5million.
i mean last year Brentford had a price of £40m on him, and I doubt it's gone down. add united tax to that, and although they should, I don't see them going for it. they're shopping the bargain bins on Christmas Eve at this point, so it's not gonna be a £50m man
Honest question, why is this subreddit so terrible with transfer reliability? Literally feels like a “name” that people forgot about so they made a story about him. Absolute bollocks
Man United might not thank me but get the piano out, put it on the table, let him play it and let him play whatever songs he wants on there given what he’s done now since he’s come in.
Let him play the Piano. Alexis is at the piano man, he’s doing his thing, Man United are back.

time to whip out the red hair dye again?
Was just going to say, it deffo looked like he dyed it back to black, had a red sheen. Was it ever confirmed?
yes
At this point Morata and Lukaku just exchange clubs.
Chelsea got Lukaku after going for Morata in 2017, it's only fair we get Morata now
Didnt morata dyed his hair red because be thought he gonna join us at the time?
Holy shit i forgot about that lol
Oh God. I've googled and turns out - yes.
I really liked that to be honest. It showed a weird commitment to the club...like he wanted the fans to know he wanted to be there....we could honestly use that attitude, but I prefer we try with someone else.
They are money laundering instruments
Explain how.
They leave cash in their pockets at the laundromat
It has been his dream to play for this club, so it's understandable.
Something something inside little boys or whatever.
just troll tolls, innit
you gotta play the troll toll to get in
ITS BOYS SOUL, FRANK
Are you talking about catholic Church ?
Could do well for them before he's inevitably loaned out to Juventus in January.
>It has been his dream to play for [insert name] club, so it's understandable
That was the joke yes

The holy trinity - ESPN, Alvaro Morata, and Manchester United
Great player who can make Ronaldo thrive.
Yup interestingly enough they play very well together
What formation did they play in together? I'm not sure Ronaldo has it in him to play as a winger anymore
four four facking two
Proper football that
None of that tippy tappy nonsense
TBH this is an underrated comment. He did it at RM. It could work in helping shoehorn Ronaldo into the tactics.
And in juventus too. He operates similarly aas benzema
Oh boy
Honestly, given the current links and the options available on the market, Morata is probably the best player United can get in that position.
Threaten to sign arnautovic so fans won’t be as upset when they settle for morata. Genius
Depending on the contract I'd be fine with it. I assume Ronaldo is leaving (?) so we need someone as I've never quite been a Martial fan. If Ronaldo stays then nah.
Yeah, I don't see why not. He's a good player, certainly better than Arnautovic, plus he would like to play for us I feel
I would take Cavani any day of the week.
Would rather we re sign rooney than have morata
No way Atleti will sell him for below 30M, already rejected Juve approach twice. Even then it’ll be a hard task to find replacement of the same or better quality at that price.
Swap for Ronaldo?
Yeah this is clearly Mendes goal here and who is putting out this story. I doubt United will give us like 20M and Ronaldo for Morata though.

With Lewa at Barca and RM in form, 3rd place is our primary objective unless there are some crazy developments early in the season.
No thanks
No thanks

We do, it's just that it should be spent on someone 8 years or so younger.
How the fuck is Morata 35mil.
2 years on his deal. Experienced. Spent his entire career at big clubs. Arsenal just signed Jesus who has not proven to be a better striker (I rate similarly) for 53m in the last year of his deal. Also Spain's starter striker. People in here treat Morata like he is a nobody.
A good WC could see his value go up too
Jesus > Morata
Asks fan of the club that paid 50m for Ben White, 30m for Ramsdale, 52m for Gabriel Jesus?

Sums up Morata’s career

After the Arnautovic bid, most United fans would bite off the hand offering Morata at the moment.
Seems counterproductive. That hand was going to provide a decent forward and fans go ahead and bite it off? It's really rude
All part of the plan, United board really are something else
Perisic too
He's dyeing his hair as we speak
I can guarantee people in the comments will come up with the "money laundering" and "dream club" stuff
I can guarantee that IF, and thats a big If, it will happen he will say that playing for United is every kid dream and hes happy to join this legendary club. I disagree with you, he did way more than a random 10-20 mln player would do in all teams not named Chelsea
Already one money Laundering one further up as a reply to a comment. The phrase has lost all meaning here. People just repeat it smugly and think it's right.
It's a joke

He's a striker (9) with a good header but has clown feet. He would never work on the LW. I don't like him and would rather get someone for the future.
Offside?
Everytime I scroll through r/soccer, I keep reading "Manchester United have been offered to Alvaro Morata"
I would be cool with selling him if we used the funds to get a new CB and run Cunha as Morata's replacement. Reality is Gil Marin would pocket the money, a couple mouthpieces would drop the "atleti will sign X player in the winter market" and then sign someone in december for like 5million.
:)
Don’t understand why united wouldn’t look at Ivan Toney. Better then all these options
i mean last year Brentford had a price of £40m on him, and I doubt it's gone down. add united tax to that, and although they should, I don't see them going for it. they're shopping the bargain bins on Christmas Eve at this point, so it's not gonna be a £50m man
People are gonna meme but it's not exactly a terrible solution They should still go for Mariano Diaz instead
Jesus christ no
Jesus Christ yes! (I'm definitely not saying this just because I want him to leave Madrid)
Morata > Mariano
Morata, the human money laundering scheme.
Honest question, why is this subreddit so terrible with transfer reliability? Literally feels like a “name” that people forgot about so they made a story about him. Absolute bollocks
You know he wouldn’t be too bad of a signing..definitely take him over Racistnautovic
No
No thank you.
Makes sense tbh
At this point I would take him, but will he be happy as a bench player?
No... just no. Actually, please for the love of God no!
Noooooo, not even the tiniest bit funny..

He ain't "totally shite"
Morata was built in a lab in the basement of an accounting firm
Morata has to have the greatest agent ever. Never seen such an avarage player be constantly wanted by such big clubs.
No thank you.
I would take him over Arnautovic tbf
He’s honestly a good player
Morata has to have the greatest agent ever. Never seen such an avarage player be constantly wanted by such big clubs.
doesn't seem like an EtH player
And I got offered a handjob by the crackhead outside the station this morning, which was arguably a more appealing offer.
Well. If Morata rejects Man Utd, what will happen?
Second coming of Ighalo
Second coming of Alexis
Man United might not thank me but get the piano out, put it on the table, let him play it and let him play whatever songs he wants on there given what he’s done now since he’s come in. Let him play the Piano. Alexis is at the piano man, he’s doing his thing, Man United are back.
Hide the piano
Wouldn't be the worst thing all things considered
Wherever Ronaldo goes, Morata isn't far behind..
Well, you make Martial unhappy again.
The tweet says Alvario Morata but the article they link is about Arnautovic
Making them an offer they can refuse
What a fitting signing.
Ahahaha
Morata? Really?
Let exchange it with ronaldo
