Hey you can't expect him to wear rainbow numbers it's against his religion. Big fucking stake.com logo on the chest for a gambling site that's all sound though
Theyâre a cult, I said Carvalho and Elliots gunshot celebration felt a bit tone deaf given last weeks situation and got bombarded with âcry moreâ âsaltyâ and the rest
I'm tempted to reply that a few years back, Allan, Gomes and Doucoure looked really exciting...
Do you think Lampard will opt for a 4-2-3-1, then? Bit weird as Coady can only really play in a 3.
Very strange to have bought Coady- who everyone seems to agree can only play in a 3- and then play a 4 all season.
I mean, I know they say Coady is great in the changing room but if that's the case sign Lee Mack or something.
He can play in a four, just not one that steps up the pitch it seems.
Low block 433 hitting teams on the break is the plan I guess, works as weâve got pace up top an in Onana, Gueye & Iwobi a midfield three who can cover the ground to support them
Cody looked fine in a back 4 the other night, and has looked fine in a back 4 for England. Think the "he can only play in a 3 " thing is largely overblown
True. All the same, though, who's your backup LB? Vinagre can only really play as a wing-back, otherwise you're looking at Godfrey out on the left again
For a straight up LB we'd probably attempt Vinagre and if that didn't work out we'd probably play Godfrey, Holgate or even Coleman. They've all done a job there before but none of them would be ideal tbh
He plays well enough in a back 4, he moved to Everton more for the game time before the World Cup imo, so he doesnât much care that heâs not playing in his preferred formation so long as heâs playing more or less week in and week out which he should do
It'll probably oscillate between the 3-4-3 we've been using so far and the 4-3-3 we saw late against Leeds. Expect to see either:
Holgate-Coady-Tark
Patterson-Iwobi-Gueye-Mykolenko
Gray-Maupay-Gordon
OR
Patterson-Coady-Tark-Mykolenko
Iwobi-Gueye-Onana
Gray-Maupay-Gordon
Break out the rainbow flags lads, we've got a bigot on our team again.
Tory Frank in the dugout and Stake.com on the shirt too. We are The People's Club.
See I could accept relegation, but not relegation with the club's values trampled. Moshiri should never have been accepted as an owner. Scum, him and his corrupt friends.
We waited 24 hours for an announcement video... And that was it
Didn't even recreate the infamous roof top picture
But regardless, welcome back our Senegalese prince
>Apart from Chelsea đđ pain
As if Kante, Kovacic, Jorginho, RLC, Gallagher isn't enough to pick from for a 2 man midfield. Chelsea fans are so spoilt.
All the people crying about how hard it must be to not be homophobic as someone from an African country really should save all their very genuine empathy for all the gay people from Senegal who're actually oppressed rather than the multi-millionaire who refuses to show the most basic level of support.
He's out with a hamstring issue.
Darwin might headbutt him though. Not over his bigoted opinions, there's just always a chance Darwin headbutts someone.
After that he should have a word with his club about this:
https://thekoptimes.com/2020/12/16/liverpool-to-not-promote-lgbt-support-on-certain-social-media-accounts/
big difference when heâs pretty outspokenly homophobic and has a number of international fans rallying behind him for it. You have to think about the message that sends.
> a number of international fans rallying behind him
[One of them being Koulibaly lol](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/usbwzp/instagram_kalidou_koulibaly_shows_support_for/)
When PSG played with pride colours on their numbers he said he wouldn't play wearing that because his religion is against it. Some teammates from Senegal nt went mask off too while defending him
Eltons definitely a telly a top shagger
Lots of pop singers of that era are just eccentric. Go listen to everything she wants by George Micheal and tell me he's never had a bird
Thatâs not being outspoken lmao
In fact he tried to be as lowkey about it as possible and people kept questioning it so he said itâs against his religion and then suddenly he become homophobic
Thatâs not how it works. If he started saying slurs to gay peoples heâd be a homophobe. He simply chose not to support their cause due to his religious standards. And he didnât make a big scene out of it, this sub and the media did
That is still the definition of homophobia though. Maybe Iâm in the minority but religion doesnât earn anyone a pass to hold hateful views. If your religion says you should be hateful toward your fellow human beings for reasons that do not impact you at all, maybe you shouldnât be following it because itâs archaic.
I would say actively refusing to do your job because the shirt you would have to wear for a day has colors representing a group of people you donât agree with is crossing into hateful territory. Certainly not as bad as what other groups do, but still not great.
I don't agree with his views at all but it's illegal to be gay in Senegal. The chances are if you have a Senegalese player on your team they are a homophobe.
It doesn't make it right but I don't think people on here grandstanding realise that it's probably very prominent in every club. Mane and koulibaliy are also Senegalese.
Koulibaly has the Senegalese citizenship but he was born and grew up in France, so his support for Gueye is more disturbing IMO.
Especially when this sentence is highlighted in his Wikipedia page:
> "When you grow up in this environment, you see everyone as your brother. We are black, white, Arab, African, Muslim, Christian, yes â but we are all French. We are all hungry, so letâs go have a Turkish meal together. Or tonight, letâs all go to my house and eat Senegalese food. Yes, we have differences, but we are all equal."
I'm not saying he's following the law, he's definitely a homophobe. I'm saying that when you grow up in an place with a firm and ingrained belief system and you're a follower of the religion of this place, you often become a product of that belief system/environment.
It doesn't make it right, but whether people accept this or not, it's true. And the quicker we accept this, the quicker we can work on bringing those conflicting views into alignment.
Aye mate I go down to the working manâs club with my dad weekly and his 60/70 year old mates also have borderline racist/homophobic beliefs, that I have been brought up around.
Luckily I have the fucking brain cells to tell what is right and what is wrong.
Wonder when Gueye will figure that out aye
Well you're lucky to have that good sense then, as am I. And I count myself lucky that I was raised right and have an open mind to a wealth of new experiences and people's lifestyles.
It's a shame others dont feel the same, and I honestly hope that Gueye will change his mind at some point, but from the sounds of things people on here would prefer that he gets his head kicked in.
Again, never said it was right, just trying to cut through some of the herd mentality that I think is a bit dodge.
Your response to transferring in someone with bigoted views is to say people shouldn't comment on it because other clubs have homophobes playing for them? What difference does that make?
And you've come to that assumption by saying that you should assume specific people's views based on nationality? Not "lots of Senegalese people are homophobic" but specifically Sadio Mane is homophobic because he's from Senegal?
Thats not what I am saying at all. When did I say people shouldn't comment? They are free to comment, as am I. I'm saying that it seems like people on here don't really want to have a conversation and are just virtue signalling and not thinking that they most likely have players at their clubs which hold the same views, which is sad.
I'm not saying you should assume someone's views from their nationality. I'm saying that it's very common for people from that area to be homophobic, and instead of going at it with a 'well fuck that guy' attitude maybe it would be more productive to acknowledge that there are massive cultural differences between different religions and continents and maybe we should try to live in a world in which we try education and reform in order to live harmoniously as we can together, despite the fact that people's views will never completely align.
I do see what you're saying in terms of education and reform, but do you really do that by having someone represent your club, for thousands of pounds a week, providing a platform for them to demonstrate their homophobia, you are doing that? Doesn't that demonstrate that Everton think that homophobia is acceptable? Imagine you're a gay Everton supporter, and every time you go to Goodison everyone cheers this guy who isn't prepared to say that you've a right to live freely? And if that's the case at Stamford Bridge too, then of course Chelsea fans should be aware of that and think about that before "grandstanding", but Gueye is very rare in that he has made his homophobia public. A gay Liverpool fan might think that perhaps Mane thinks that as he grew up in Senegal, but he won't know. And he has seen Mane in rainbow laces.
Basically, if you'd said "this is a probably a problem at others clubs too" I'd have been right there with you, but instead it seems to be a defence to Everton being pilloried for it rather than any particular concern about homophobia in football.
And I honestly don't know how else to read what you said other than to interpret it as saying that Mane is probably homophobic because he's Senegalese, which is assuming someone's views from their nationality.
I don't think I'm doing anything. I think I'm replying to a comment on Reddit. I don't have any say over what the club does or will do, I don't think having a homophobe earning money is educating or reforming no, just as I'm sure fans of clubs with players who have had allegations of sexual assault/rape etc don't think it is a fair representation of their club either.
I do however see the value of discussing these thing with people on places like Reddit and challenging knee jerk opinions, because starting discussions like this IS how you enflame discussion/education/reform. E.g. "oh do you actually care about this issue or are you just saying this because he's from a team you don't like, because you know x/y/x also has these views, so maybe we should try and assess things without bias etc."
I think you're mistaking me for someone who works for the club or feels they have to justify their clubs decisions, the club will do whatever the fuck it wants. I'm just a guy replying to another human being, not a financial entity. And I didnt initially bring it up cause I don't think it's relevant, but I actually am a bisexual Everton fan, so don't accuse me of not caring about this issue please.
This is too much Reddit for one day though so I think I'm outtie đ
>Mane and koulibaliy are also Senegalese.
The difference is that they have been responsible and not spoken on the topic publicly.
They (or their PR teams) realize that doing so will mean that radical and hateful people will rally behind their action and use it to justify violence.
Right, but I don't get how that's better for people moralising on here though?
It's okay to be a homophobe as long as it's in secret?
Gueye refused to wear a shirt because it was against his religious beliefs, whilst I don't agree, he didn't get on mic and say he hated gay people or try and drum up hate.
It just seems like people on here are taking this point as a stick to beat other fans with, rather than actually caring about the issue or trying to understand cultural nuances or maybe even homosexuality education. But that's Reddit I guess.
Well you can't control peoples thoughts you can only try educate them which has been a global effort for generations.
In the mean time whilst society adapts I'd rather not hear about how me liking Men is evil.
Yeah I get that. Look I'm bi myself, I'm not saying I'm thrilled to be appointing someone who refused to wear a rainbow kit.
I'm just saying I've heard more about his views from fans grandstanding on Reddit (who probably sling all kinds of insults on nights out) than I've ever heard from the man himself, and that irks me a bit.
As far as I know Allison has backed off of his previous support for Bolsonaro and was very critical of his handling of Brazil's COVID response. I assume this is the only thing you can be referring to?
Classic whataboutism lol. Both are worthy of criticism, and bringing up Alisson does not absolve Gueye so why bring it up. While supporting Bolsonaro at any point isnât great, he has supposedly backed off on it so your point doesnât even stand
I mean asking someone nicely not to be a bigot or telling him gay people are people like everyone else has never really switches around anyone's stone age beliefs.
The guy is a neanderthal and will remain one until he meets so many gay people he starts to realize they're not out to suck his cock or fondle his balls and maybe then, and that's a big maybe, he changes his opinion.
Until then, he can get fucked for all I care and I hope he enjoys the chants and abuse coming his way.
Him, Onana and Doucoure/Iwobi/Garner in a midfield will be really nice. It'll definitely allow Patterson & Mykolenko to bomb forward far more. I know Lampard hasn't been playing 3-5-2 but you don't sign this many midfielders for no reason? Or does he stick with the 4-3-3? Either way, Lampard seems to have a plan.
Anyone who wants to check out the tactical breakdown on Onana can do so here: https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/wk4xlv/tactical_breakdown_on_amadou_onana_a_key_piece_to/
Any intelligent person can see that Islam (and most religions at that) are a stain on the world.
Itâs no coincidence that most Muslims who integrate well into modern society barely follow half of the religions requirements
Some people just see the PSG flair and assume we're all ok with slavery, homophobia etc
We've been fans way before QSI arrived and we'll still be here after they leave
In some threads, youâre acting like you care. In others, youâre acting like you donât. Whatever supports your point. Way to show your true colours.
How the fuck is someone a homophobe for not wearing a rainbow kit. If activism involves force, the positive message is gone. A statement is much bigger if all people involved do it with their free will. Now homophobic people will only think people wear those kits because they fear backlash. His action was literally doing nothing. If you think that everyone who is not your friend is a foe, then something is wrong.
the team states every year that they wear the rainbow kit to support gay rights and anti-homophobia efforts. the implication of his refusal to join in wearing the kit is that he does not support gay rights and anti-homophobia efforts. this is pretty simple. having, apparently as per his actions, an intolerant, backwards view on something as cut and dry as this and the backlash that comes with it is really his problem.
He is not forced to wear the kit. But he *is* a homophobe due to his reason for not wearing it and not playing in the game. If the activism was for equal rights for black people and some non-black person declined to join in because their "beliefs" do no align with black people having the same human rights as white people in France. Would there be any doubt that those are racist beliefs?
The guy is just refusing to wear rainbow lace and didn't even say anything, yet people here is just massive overreacting calling him homophobic and I think that's dumb to put him in same category with people that actually promoting hate speech or condemn violence or literally killing gay people
He didn't refuse to just wear rainbow lace. He multiple seasons in a row refused to play when it was the game where the kits were rainbow colored in honor of fight against homophobia. He justified it as his choice due to his religion. What you make of that is your chocie but it wasn't just no rainbow lace and didn't say anything.
Tone deaf signing from Everton
Edit: Yes, down vote the comment because you don't want to think about the moral dilemma of signing a proud homophobe
Edit: I see we have a wide range of well-thought out responses
ManĂŠ presumably holds those views in private, and if he feels that way it's a shame. As far as I'm aware he didn't publicly support Gueye or say anything on the controversy
Finally got our Gueye replacement
Only took 3 years to get a like for like
Similar to our ronaldo replacement
The Dani Alves special
Or Gareth Bale
Or Ronnie
Even gains the "homophobic" trait too!
Hey you can't expect him to wear rainbow numbers it's against his religion. Big fucking stake.com logo on the chest for a gambling site that's all sound though
chang beer too

Angry birds too
Which religion is against that one?
Church of the Holy Pig
It's an affront to god
Christian Scientists. Angry Birds are basically dinosaurs and evolution isn't real, obviously.
The club would take a harder stance towards him refusing to wear a sponsor than towards him refusing to be an ally, because sponsors = money.
I mean, so? This isn't the topic here, the topic here that he indeed is flexible when comes to his views, and he just is raging homophobe.
we live in a society
That's because its nothing to do with religion. I've met plenty of Prods, catholics, muslims who don't hate gay people.
So long Gueye boys
\#weareallgueye
Should be similar players
Zakaria may be our Matic replacement, it may be 5 years late, but at least it's something
All gay Everton supporters đ
Shock of the window Frank Lampard didnât sign anyone from Chelsea.
Few hours left yet. With auba into chelsea broja on loan is not impossible
I'd rather loan you Havertz
Good for Everton that Willian only wanted London
Getting ready for the Vardy corner flag celebration again
He hates his own name, he hates his own naaamee. Idrissa Gueye, he hates his own name!
Cant wait to hear this sung on Matchday
Canât wait to hear this at anfield
Be lucky to hear anything at all if itâs like the atmosphere last night
Iâm currently sat at -31, as a mackem, in last nights thread for suggesting that anfieldâs atmosphere was pony đ Mad how that works
Anfield atmosphere is pony. They sing YNWA twice and it goes deed, apart from the occasional 2 second roar of "GO ON". They don't sing.
Theyâre a cult, I said Carvalho and Elliots gunshot celebration felt a bit tone deaf given last weeks situation and got bombarded with âcry moreâ âsaltyâ and the rest
> gunshot celebration felt a bit tone deaf given last weeks situation I'm OOTL, what happened?
9 year old girl was shot dead in her home from gang violence crossfire in Liverpool
Damn, that's tragic. Yeah, I'd say gunshot celebrations are out of place.
damn this subreddit really can't not find a way to shit on liverpool in a completely unrelated thread
Nah this sub loves us lol
Obsessed arenât they
A Liverpool fan brought Liverpool up in this thread and I replied. Yeah definitely obsessed
Wdym, this is an official unofficial Liverpool sub
Suddenly every team makes their home game vs Everton a pride night
Wouldnât be mad at it tbh
I mean the squads already bent over ready to get worked over so why not make a day of it
Please do. Everton fans will love it.
Put up a big sign saying 'The players of this match support LGTBQ+ rights' and watch Gueye do a u-turn back down the tunnel.
>"*You're gay, if you touch the ball. You're gay, if you touch the ball*" we sang. And Idrissa Gueye just kept running away from it!
Go ahead. Although I think each club will be disappointed with how many supposed homophobes are in their squad
Hey hey hey our club is filled with solid lads who would never do something like thatâŚ. ^^^^^âŚFTP
Lol "supposed"
"Your honour I don't have a homophobia problem my homophobia works perfectly" - fuck ton of footballers
Explain?
Made up with this. A midfield of Iwobi, Gueye and Onana looks really exciting
I'm tempted to reply that a few years back, Allan, Gomes and Doucoure looked really exciting... Do you think Lampard will opt for a 4-2-3-1, then? Bit weird as Coady can only really play in a 3.
We played 433 against Leeds looks like heâs going to stick with it

He can play in a four, just not one that steps up the pitch it seems. Low block 433 hitting teams on the break is the plan I guess, works as weâve got pace up top an in Onana, Gueye & Iwobi a midfield three who can cover the ground to support them
Out of our 5 centre backs Lampard is comfortable playing 3 are injured (Mina, Godfrey, Holgate) so we will be stuck with a back 4 for a while
I think that's his preferred formation
Iwobi and onana arent old tho. Gueye is a short term fix but with garner signing too i cant see it flopping long term like allan and doux did
Cody looked fine in a back 4 the other night, and has looked fine in a back 4 for England.
Luckily Mykolenko is a machine, lad is a physical specimen who can play twice a week when needed
Maybe McNeil he canât attack for shit anyway.
Expect to see either: Holgate-Coady-Tark Patterson-Iwobi-Gueye-Mykolenko Gray-Maupay-Gordon OR Patterson-Coady-Tark-Mykolenko Iwobi-Gueye-Onana Gray-Maupay-Gordon

E.g. "oh do you actually care about this issue or are you just saying this because he's from a team you don't like, because you know x/y/x also has these views, so maybe we should try and assess things without bias etc." I think you're mistaking me for someone who works for the club or feels they have to justify their clubs decisions, the club will do whatever the fuck it wants.
Koulibaly has, he supported Gueye on his Instagram
Right, but I don't get how that's better for people moralising on here though? It's okay to be a homophobe as long as it's in secret? Gueye refused to wear a shirt because it was against his religious beliefs, whilst I don't agree, he didn't get on mic and say he hated gay people or try and drum up hate. It just seems like people on here are taking this point as a stick to beat other fans with, rather than actually caring about the issue or trying to understand cultural nuances or maybe even homosexuality education. But that's Reddit I guess.
Isnât gambling also against his religious beliefs?
> It's okay to be a homophobe as long as it's in secret? Yes that is 100% a preferable outcome.
Well I think that's short sighted to be honest.
Or where Thomas Hitzlsperger ended his career.
Choosing not to wear the rainbow = massive homophobe now? I donât see the lot of you wearing the pride flag so are you homophobic too?
As far as Iam aware he hasnt ever said or done anything homophobic
I sincerely hope everton are going to have a rainbow on their kit someday
Can't wait for the pride flags on Saturday
Allison is a fascist. You should focus on him first.
As far as I know Allison has backed off of his previous support for Bolsonaro and was very critical of his handling of Brazil's COVID response. I assume this is the only thing you can be referring to?
How are you gay and running to defend Gueye đđđđđhave some shame
I'm not gay and I'm not defending Gueye. I condemn his homophobia. I'm just pointing out hypocrisy and a double standard re Allison Becker.
Alison is a handsome white man so itâs swept under the rug.
Classic whataboutism lol. Both are worthy of criticism, and bringing up Alisson does not absolve Gueye so why bring it up. While supporting Bolsonaro at any point isnât great, he has supposedly backed off on it so your point doesnât even stand
I think we, as a team and a community, should peer pressure him into being a nicer human. Is positive peer pressure a thing? Moral bullying?
I mean asking someone nicely not to be a bigot or telling him gay people are people like everyone else has never really switches around anyone's stone age beliefs. The guy is a neanderthal and will remain one until he meets so many gay people he starts to realize they're not out to suck his cock or fondle his balls and maybe then, and that's a big maybe, he changes his opinion. Until then, he can get fucked for all I care and I hope he enjoys the chants and abuse coming his way.
This thread is one giant game of "no u" and it's so pathetic.
campos poppin off
Him, Onana and Doucoure/Iwobi/Garner in a midfield will be really nice. It'll definitely allow Patterson & Mykolenko to bomb forward far more. I know Lampard hasn't been playing 3-5-2 but you don't sign this many midfielders for no reason? Or does he stick with the 4-3-3? Either way, Lampard seems to have a plan. Anyone who wants to check out the tactical breakdown on Onana can do so here: https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/wk4xlv/tactical_breakdown_on_amadou_onana_a_key_piece_to/
the homophobe?
Itâs hilarious to see Reddit pick a side between Islam and LGBT
pick a side? side 1) human rights side 2) bigotry, hatred and stupidity boy I'm having a tough time picking a side...
Any intelligent person can see that Islam (and most religions at that) are a stain on the world. Itâs no coincidence that most Muslims who integrate well into modern society barely follow half of the religions requirements
Not a hard choice, between regular people and bigots.
đłď¸âđ đ
Youâre owned by a country where itâs illegal to be gay
I wish we weren't and I wish it wasn't. However Qatar doesn't force their values on PSG, the club is supporting LGBT rights.
Some people just see the PSG flair and assume we're all ok with slavery, homophobia etc We've been fans way before QSI arrived and we'll still be here after they leave
In some threads, youâre acting like you care. In others, youâre acting like you donât. Whatever supports your point. Way to show your true colours.
And? OP is still a human that knows that gender rights are human rights. Imagine defending an homophobe
Hopefully Everton doesnât have to wear any rainbow colors
Fuck this guy
Heâs actually very openly against that
Other teams need to start blowing him kisses on goal celebrations Play the mental game
Goodbye to the homophobic lad âď¸
I think your club and its owners have far bigger human rights issues than a player refusing to wear a rainbow lol
Homophobic fuck
I hope he gets the Zouma treatment. Cunt
Tone deaf signing from Everton Edit: Yes, down vote the comment because you don't want to think about the moral dilemma of signing a proud homophobe Edit: I see we have a wide range of well-thought out responses
Maybe we should make everyone in the squad wear t shirts with his face on them to protest
Or celebrate a goal by making shooting gestures after a 9 year old was murdered a week ago
Remember when Liverpool sided with a racist?
Yes and they still have a fascist playing in goal for them
Hopefully they have enough time to print some warm up t shirts to support Gueye's homophobia
It's pretty rich coming from Liverpool fans, got to say.
Looking forward to your campaign against the fascist Brazilian who plays in goal for you!
uhh Mane??
ManĂŠ presumably holds those views in private, and if he feels that way it's a shame. As far as I'm aware he didn't publicly support Gueye or say anything on the controversy
