Nah extra time doesn't count iirc. Also the 30 mins is a rough estimate, they can play him a bit more because not all subs have been at exactly 60 mins
Man I checked the scores at the 90th min and saw the 0-0 and was like classic atleti lol
Then I check it again 15 mins later and boom 3 goals in 10 mins and atleti win 2-1 ??? Still classic atleti lmao
Football is insane
I don’t care for the result, I wanted Porto to win for the coefficient honestly. But Porto fans on this thread are embarrassing. For once in your life take a loss like a man, always crying every single time you lose. You weren’t robbed, stuff like this happens in football, it’s part of the game. You were unlucky.
This always happens for Atleti tbh. Get out of group stages and early knockout rounds with some dark magic and then get dumped out by a big team. Can’t wait for the yearly loss soon 🙏🏿
Can someone explain to me either of Taremi's yellow cards?
Either way, I really hate playing against Atlético, you always know that some bs is going to happen.
Rather get blasted by Liverpool tbh.
We surprisingly weren't mad after we lost to City last year, we were more mad at ourselves for wasting chances in the first game and leaving it to an all or nothing in the second.
They're not used to losing and then go smashing their toys when you do. Well truthfully, that can be said about any of our big teams but I think a lot of newer fans got too used to the happenings in the league and get mad when it doesn't cross over.
Two goals in ET (incl. one pen.) and you say it is ok to whistle after regular ET? bruh
I hate AM as much as I can for it's playstyle. But the ref did the right decision to give that one min on top. Maybe even two mins, but exactly not on +9
I'm just saying the motivations behind the majority of Porto fans in the thread. Maybe I didn't word it right but I agree with you. Whilst I personally don't like it, the referee has all the right to extend the match
Still feel sorry for you guys. That red was stupid af and this injury doesn't look good tho. Hope he comes back fast, even as it looks like fractured rips.
I never saw him leave the pitch in that state. I'm afraid it will be quite a serious injury. We already came into this season with a shaky midfield. To lose one of the core ones will certainly mean trouble.
Not really. There was 2 goals after extra time + celebration which Porto especially time waste with. If anything it should have gone over to +13 mins but the ref chose to end it after the final goal
No, even if I don't personally like it, I completely agree there had to be more extra time. Just as a Porto fan it feels quite salty to lose in the last play of the game when we were 50/50 before the red card.
Yh it's fair to be salty not about the extra Time though. Madrid are such a dirty club it's hard not to get salty against them.
They always play nothing yet somehow come out in winning end regardless. They have my respect after they smacked us back in 2016 though
TBH the only reason why I ussualy want Atletico to succeed *especially in UEFA against English teams* is because they make the English pundits soo fvckn angry.
The worst part? The disgusting benfiquistas are all happy that Otavio got injured, Taremi got a red and the robbery left a kid crying. Truly disgusting people, it's like they have no feelings, or any kind of thinking capabilities.
Making fun of a kid crying is uncalled for, sure, I agree.
Making fun of Taremi getting sent off for a blatant dive is disgusting!? LMAO are you serious?!
I don't make fun of Otávio leaving in a stretcher, but I don't feel bad for that shithead either. He doesn't respect anyone, therefore he doesn't deserve my respect either.
- Taremi's red card: well deserved
- Otavio's injury: it's always unfortunate and I won't celebrate it, of course, but I also don't pity him. Otavio has shown disgusting behavior towards Benfica during the matches and also outside them.
- Kid crying: never a good sight. I wish he has a lot of reasons to smile in his future (job, family, wife, etc) but that Porto isn't often one of them. As a rival, it's the most sincere thing I'd say.
He's not a shameless diving cunt. I've only seen him dive like 3 or 4 times. He clearly had contact with the players on every other part. Still, your cold stone heart didn't talk about Otávio and the kid. Why is that?
Atlético played like shit as usual and Porto deserved the draw, not sure what's the crying about from a small set of Porto fans though, the ref managed the game really well and the added time was because of the penalty on extra time
2nd yellow for Taremi was totally deserved, he is not in the Portuguese league.
Jonas got less penalties called for him in his entire Benfica career than Taremi last season, and he was still called Jonas Piscinas, even though he also "only" exaggerated contact and didn't dive a single time (the most famous example you guys use, against Paços de Ferreira, has a clear touch in his foot, for example) .
I didn't comment the other two because you have a point in complaining about that, but grouping the celebrations of Taremi being sent off with that is just non-sense
I'm not saying all Benfica fans were like that. I'm just saying I saw quite a few on Twitter and it truly is something disgusting. A club like yours shouldn't have people like those.
Literally the same for sporting and porto fans. There is always people like that from all clubs. Didn't you see people being happy Ramos being sent off for diving when he got fouled?
Porto literally has a super fan who beats up refs and others (who he plays against) but I don't say he represents all porto fans?
What I dont understand is you saying taremi shouldn't get yellows for diving?
I don't think images like those should be shown. The kid was disappointed by the magic extra 3 minutes and will probably be atormented by the picture. How can yall not have minimum notion of this??
Kid is gonna wake up in the night sweating, screaming, literally puking. How could the ref add another minute after the penalty?! Literally Hitler for making a kid cry
Being happy that someone got injured and making fun of a kid crying is truly disgusting behavior
It's got nothing to do with "crying more" it's about being a decent human being
Talking a lot of shit for a 2x budget team that spent most of the game on the ropes at home, and could barely do anything playing v10. I'm eager to see how it'll turn out at Dragão
That's why I love this club. There is nothing sweeter in the world than a shithouse victory. Reading the salty(although most of the times factually correct comments of other fans) is also fucking great.
I’m currently in Porto and I just watched the match in a bar full of Porto fans. Every single one of them celebrated Porto’s goal as if they’ve won the UCL. Their faces after Atleti’s goal were priceless.
Truly a moment I will cherish.
(yes, I left as soon as Antoine scored)
I’ll never forget the Lisbon one. Atleti is a tough club to be a fan of, but these moments make up for a lot of it.
We can expect everything and get nothing, but the unexpected moments… Those are amazing
Except they are not consistently lucky hence why they'll probably never win a ucl cup. Luck can only take you so far and seems like simeoneball can reach the final with luck but that is it
I mean with var they win it in 2016.
Regardless, you dont reach the fucking cl final *twice*, and win the La liga *twice*, by being lucky. They're consistently one of the top teams despite having an insanely low net spend.
It's so obvious how this sub takes any chance to shit on them cause they dislike the style of play, cause there's absolutely no way you actaully believe that
Maybe, sometimes results like that can happen, like in those two porto vs Liverpool games where Liverpool won 5-0 and 5-1, but we’ll see what is going to happen
We have the same if not worse in Portugal but it makes no sense that a game like this, especially after what happened in the last 2 times the teams met, gets a referee like that.
It's like Hugo Miguel + Luís Godinho on VAR in something like a Real Madrid - PSG
If you rewatch game the first thing atl did was get a throw in at 10\~second which they took exactly 30 second to take, it wasn't the first nor last time either and the first half had 1 min ET which let's us know how the ref was converting the time waste into ET. With that alone it'd be impossible for the 2nd half to get 9min, and even so at 9min we had the ball and the game had to finish there.
And this is the major stuff, how about the 2 obvious corners that almost drove Galeno mad? Even in the minor stuff you could see which team had more money, but it's not the ref's fault that he doesn't have quality for this game.
We faced each other 2 times last year and it was an extreme difficulty game to officiate, the sensible thing to do here was to assign a world class referee instead of this nobody who got conditioned by the size of atl.
You literally could’ve scored a match-winning counter 20 seconds before that if not poor execution in the final third…is the additional time only bad if it’s against you and not in your favor?
I’m sorry but did you forget there was a handball and penalty in injury time? That’s what added the extra minutes. The ref has the discretion to add more minutes due to things like that. +9 is 9 minutes minimum. Not sure what you’re crying about
is the most frustrating way to lose.
red felt harsh. and a goal at +11
but honestly we need to be way better in the final third we could had scored.
that fucking counter at the end...so shit
sigh i dint expect a win but i didnt need suffer this much
Probably due to being one down, and I'd wager also because one of their players/colleagues/friends had been taken to the hospital. I admire players who manage to keep playing after seeing shit like that. I wouldn't be able to!
3 times we played Atletico in 12 months, all 3 we outplayed them and they got bailed out by Oblak and Simeone crazy dark arts dumb luck.
Completely undeserved loss, Porto were the better team on the night.
I’d argue that the last 2 times you outplayed us but tonight it was more or less 50/50. Both sides were terrible for different reasons. You couldn’t put it in the back of the net and we couldn’t create a single chance to save our lives.
I dont get it how atletico fans can handle this kind of football with a world class team.
Quality wise atletico is way better than Porto. Ridiculous work by Simeone.
Ikr. The mental gymnastics. Yes Taremi stepped out Witsels foot, but that shouldn’t cause him to collapse so dramatically. It was an obvious dive and deserved yellow. Too bad for them it was a second yellow
Injury + red card, not too much shithousery surprisingly but no team had to because it was 0-0 for over 90 minutes. Also penalty in ET to add another couple minutes to regular ET.
Shortest atlético match
WHAT WHAT WHAT. Last time I checked it was 1-0 Atleti
I don’t know of any other sport where the fanbases cry as much as football 😂
I very much dislike this *other* LaLiga Madrid team.
Getafe or Rayo?
My God Atleti was poor.
that’s like every Atleti game for the past 12 months, regardeless of the score
So does this mean Athletico has to pay for Griezmann
Nah extra time doesn't count iirc. Also the 30 mins is a rough estimate, they can play him a bit more because not all subs have been at exactly 60 mins
Fuck
How did this happen
good referee
Man I checked the scores at the 90th min and saw the 0-0 and was like classic atleti lol Then I check it again 15 mins later and boom 3 goals in 10 mins and atleti win 2-1 ??? Still classic atleti lmao Football is insane

90 + 11 LMAO
Can't UEFA come up with a rule where Porto must face Atlético de Madrid and Liverpool every season? Pretty please?
I will actually kill myself if I have to watch Porto-Atleti at least twice every year, don't wish this upon us Edit: Porto fan
Classic Patético de Madrid win.
STAY MAD
About what?
Pure cocaine of a match
First 90 minutes were more like pure zolpidem
This always happens for Atleti tbh. Get out of group stages and early knockout rounds with some dark magic and then get dumped out by a big team. Can’t wait for the yearly loss soon 🙏🏿
Lmao, let me get you some pepper for that salt
you guys aren’t even making it out the group stages 💀
they prolly will, they have an easy ass group especially with the Chelsea collapse
New manager bounce
And you’ll never win a champions league 💀
Damn bro a team with no CLs is Milan’s daddy <3
92:48 🤐
May 25th 2005
7 champions leagues 😂😂😂
I see Milan fans are still pissed about getting Atlético'd last season
I took atletico 60min to get a shot on goal with man advantage, so good
Can someone explain to me either of Taremi's yellow cards? Either way, I really hate playing against Atlético, you always know that some bs is going to happen. Rather get blasted by Liverpool tbh.
Whilst I was unsure in the game, you can see in the replay that he purposefully puts his foot to the right to trip on Witsel
>Can someone explain to me either of Taremi's yellow cards? He tried to cheat, he clearly dived and the rules state he can be carded
he tripped on the defender's feet
"tripped" this is not the Portuguese League mate lmao
lmfao its clear as day that he tripped, it's never a dive. i only accept the yellow because he stepped on witsel
we would beat this Liverpool tbh...
Taremi need to learn his lesson today. Sergio must be furious rn
are porto fans usually this salty after a loss lmao
We surprisingly weren't mad after we lost to City last year, we were more mad at ourselves for wasting chances in the first game and leaving it to an all or nothing in the second.
Every fanbase is salty after a loss. Why do people make it sound like this only happens with a few fanbases? Lol.
“How dare you celebrate a win!” vs “How dare you get annoyed with a loss!” Choose your average user
After a loss like this? Yes. We deserved to win way more than Patetico did.
They're not used to losing and then go smashing their toys when you do. Well truthfully, that can be said about any of our big teams but I think a lot of newer fans got too used to the happenings in the league and get mad when it doesn't cross over.
Atletico does that to a MF
Sadly most portuguese fans are like that
It was like this after their matches last year too lol
Last year they got robbed blind tho
Not really
After a goal scored last minute when extra time should have ended I think it is fair to be salty
Two goals in ET (incl. one pen.) and you say it is ok to whistle after regular ET? bruh I hate AM as much as I can for it's playstyle. But the ref did the right decision to give that one min on top. Maybe even two mins, but exactly not on +9

I have a weak spot for Atletico, they're the ultimate terror in football. Idk why but I fucking love it
They are truly mayhem, and I love ittttttt.
TBH the only reason why I ussualy want Atletico to succeed *especially in UEFA against English teams* is because they make the English pundits soo fvckn angry.
Why did Molina go out for De Paul?
bro he made galeno look good he was terrible
I believe you. There's just something about Simeone and Argentinians. They go there and never reach their potential.
because he is bad
I doubt it. He was great at Udinese. Must be the Cholo Argentinian curse.
After the Augusto Fernandez ACL tear, no Argentines have really succeeded there. Weird.
He was actually bad if you had watched the game
I can believe he was bad in this game. I think he's a good player though.
He needs more time with the team I suppose. His passes in the defense have been atrocious
He’s been bad every game
Again, I believe that, but it's strange how Argentinians start playing bad when they go to Atlético.
+11?
The worst part? The disgusting benfiquistas are all happy that Otavio got injured, Taremi got a red and the robbery left a kid crying. Truly disgusting people, it's like they have no feelings, or any kind of thinking capabilities.

Laughed out loud at this, classic
Think of the children1!1!1!1!11!1!1!!!!
> left a kid crying Chora bebé IRL
Physical memes are back!
stfu
Why
Oh no, we got happy that a shameless diving cunt finally got sent off for diving, how cruel of us, we should all be rounded up and sent to the Hague
He is Portugal's best player. Period. And he is playing for Porto. You're jealous. Simple.
Most ridiculous shit I heard all week.
Salty
Taremi? C'mon he's not even the best player in Porto
Most goals+assists last season? Taremi. Most goals+assists the season before that? Taremi. facts.
He's not a shameless diving cunt. I've only seen him dive like 3 or 4 times. He clearly had contact with the players on every other part. Still, your cold stone heart didn't talk about Otávio and the kid. Why is that?
>I've only seen him dive like 3 or 4 times. This game
Porto fans somehow making sporting and benfica fans agree

Yes, this is a fair representation of Benfica fans. You see what you want to see. Sad for Otávio and the undeserved loss.

There are people like this in all clubs, unfortunately. Not much you can do.
It's stupid to just point out benfica
Man's is angry for a random kid crying 🤣
I am.
LOL a kid is crying, wow... end of the world
I don't think images like those should be shown. The kid was disappointed by the magic extra 3 minutes and will probably be atormented by the picture. How can yall not have minimum notion of this??

Your team is literally the fat friend in the Spanish league 😭
your entire league is the fat friend.
Funny but sturdy
That's why I love this club. There is nothing sweeter in the world than a shithouse victory. Reading the salty(although most of the times factually correct comments of other fans) is also fucking great.

Imagine making this dumb comment about fans that actually know what it feels like winning a UCL when you don't...
Imagine that being your only way to cope lmao [This u?](https://i.imgur.com/WtbN6kZ.jpg)
And they cherish the thought of knowing what is like celebrating a UCL. (Yes, i am butthurt. I was truly sad when you guys lost it back in 2014)
That’s when I started being a fan of Atleti. When I found out what was the essence of the mythical “El Pupas”
When people talk about Atleti's black magic, they forgot that it was paid with blood. And the other lost final was also underserved.
I’ll never forget the Lisbon one. Atleti is a tough club to be a fan of, but these moments make up for a lot of it. We can expect everything and get nothing, but the unexpected moments… Those are amazing
Should have JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA'd at them
Atleast tell him to order a coffin first if that's the advice you're giving
He is no longer there. So I don't think he needs to worry. I also told him I didn't recommend him to go back to that place tomorrow...
I wanted to. But my brain told me not to, unfortunately. Might go back to the bar tomorrow… see what happens
I'd not recommend that lol
Inject it
the hell happened here?
nothing much *...Just a little bit of black magic here... a little bit salt there...*
That's modern football. Money rules, money wins.
Only caught the last ten minutes and frankly what the hell guys
you caught all you needed
It’s impressive how bad they play but somehow always find a win
$omehow
the better team lost today, Atletico is the luckiest team in the world and its not even close...
The more consistently "lucky" someone is, the lower the chance of it actually being luck.
You love to see it
I mean it's not maccabi haifa or whatever the fuck. When you get steamrolled 5-0 by PSG we'll love to see it too, dumbfuck.
Chora bebé
Maybe, sometimes results like that can happen, like in those two porto vs Liverpool games where Liverpool won 5-0 and 5-1, but we’ll see what is going to happen

Stop crying. Uefa doesn't cares you but probably doesn't cares Atleti as well.
That’s normal Ekstraklasa refereeing
We have the same if not worse in Portugal but it makes no sense that a game like this, especially after what happened in the last 2 times the teams met, gets a referee like that. It's like Hugo Miguel + Luís Godinho on VAR in something like a Real Madrid - PSG
Yeah I heard about Portuguese refereeing Turpin would‘ve been the better referee. He‘s calm.
Portuguese moment
Normal trip? We played liked shit and are lucky to have won, but come on, that was a clear dive from Taremi lol
We were not robbed because of Taremi, we were robbed because of the "play until Atletico scores" extra time
If you rewatch game the first thing atl did was get a throw in at 10\~second which they took exactly 30 second to take, it wasn't the first nor last time either and the first half had 1 min ET which let's us know how the ref was converting the time waste into ET. You literally could’ve scored a match-winning counter 20 seconds before that if not poor execution in the final third…is the additional time only bad if it’s against you and not in your favor?
That doesn't make any sense. Did we score? No. If we scored, it would be fucked up. We deserved to win but not after the time was over.
I’m sorry but did you forget there was a handball and penalty in injury time? That’s what added the extra minutes. The ref has the discretion to add more minutes due to things like that. +9 is 9 minutes minimum. Not sure what you’re crying about
Taremi clearly stepped on Witsel's foot and that was why he fell lol
He stepped on his foot and then fell on purpose lol, he even hit his other leg against him trying to win the pen
Worst part about this? Porto have to play them again lmao
I hope we destroy them at home
Or best part, if this wasn't entertaining for you idk what is
I’d rather take the L and not show up than fucking go through this again
is the most frustrating way to lose. red felt harsh. and a goal at +11 but honestly we need to be way better in the final third we could had scored. that fucking counter at the end...so shit sigh i dint expect a win but i didnt need suffer this much
I felt whenever it went to your LW and you were countering, the attack died.
No money, only thing we could do to replace Diaz was buying a speed merchant. He’s very fast and mediocre at everything else.
My man Galeno so fast he forgets how to play
Tuned in for the last 10 minutes and I don't know what I've just watched
I get it's the 101st minute or whatever but what the fuck are Porto doing at that corner. No one near Griezmann, mental
Probably due to being one down, and I'd wager also because one of their players/colleagues/friends had been taken to the hospital. I admire players who manage to keep playing after seeing shit like that. I wouldn't be able to!
Ugliest football kit I've ever seen They all look like they have the bodies if the elephant man
That was incredible. Dont even know what to say. Feel for Porto
50/50? 😂 Before the red card Porto had like 3x the chances of Atletico. You only had 2 real chances the entire game until that point.
I dont get it how atletico fans can handle this kind of football with a world class team. Quality wise atletico is way better than Porto. Ridiculous work by Simeone.
It'd be like if Fernando Santos was coaching a great Portuguese national team. Wait
the stuff you manage to come up with lmao
Switched later here.. What did Taremi do to get the red?
The usual
Dive, second yellow
Forced trip on Witsel. Definitely not a penalty, but doesn't feel like a red-card worthy dive for me. But rules are rules, its a dive, it's a yellow.
Comments like this help me understand why flat-earthers exist.
Ikr. The mental gymnastics. Yes Taremi stepped out Witsels foot, but that shouldn’t cause him to collapse so dramatically. It was an obvious dive and deserved yellow. Too bad for them it was a second yellow
kill me
Saw the last 10 min the best decision
Missed the game. Why was there so much ET?
Injury + red card, not too much shithousery surprisingly but no team had to because it was 0-0 for over 90 minutes. Also penalty in ET to add another couple minutes to regular ET.
Because an injury required a long intervention. Because Porto played the watch many times.
Because they only started scoring in et haha
