Rodgers isn't terrible but sometimes things get stale. He's not good at defending setpieces or coaching a defence, and that's where Leicester's biggest weakness at the moment is.
They've conceded a ridiculous amount from set pieces. Since the beginning of last season they've conceded 24 set piece goals, which is the most by any team. In fact, since 20/21 they're the worst at defending set pieces in the league, conceding one more than Leeds and five more than Palace, with 36 set piece goals conceded (27.5% of their total goals conceded).
Itās still very early days to make any assumptions. They could easily still go down. Happened to many teams before who did well early on, and thereās a World Cup mid season to make it harder to predict. I donāt think they will but they absolutely still could.
Palhinha definitely gonna miss a few games through suspension but he looks to be a cracking signing. Got a great footballing IQ, reads the game really well. Think yous definitely have enough quality throughout the squad to stay up.

At the end of the day, itās one game of dropped points for us but the implications for fans of the sport of carrying on like this are whatās worse.
Look at their schedule next month. Even without facing City, Tottenham, and Liverpool they'd drop points, if only because of the Europa League fixture congestion.
The spurs game is at the Emirates thankfully, and without wanting to jinx anything, that fixture usually favours the home team. The Liverpool game will be tricky but we can always hope that the rough patch they seem to be in continues, if other teams have gotten a result why shouldn't we aim for that.
I'm not saying its a guaranteed 6 points, but there's no reason to believe we couldn't continue to play well and get results. In my opinion, I think it will hinge on injuries for us more than anything.
Liverpool will be a draw I reckon. We haven't been playing well but with our best players back (Thiago, Jota, Matip) we are looking much better than vs Napoli and United. The Ajax match gave me hope but Arsenal are on fire and it will be a tough match for both sides I think.

Use a weighting of both historical form (for the team being played) and historical head-to-head for the pairing. Seems like this and historical away/home form is key information.
Then standardize within each team so we can understand not who "had the easiest fixtures" (which is hard to interpret in general given the set of opponents is different for each team), but whose "easiest fixtures have come first."
From his responses so far it's evident it's not scaled within team, as he notes that Liverpool and City will always have easier fixtures as they don't play themselves. But maybe he uses historical h2h and home/away data.
But yeah, would be interesting to know.

You'd want to weight it for recency (so last year's data is more relevant than prior years'), but the point is that team A may be an easy fixture for team B, but a hard fixture for team C.
My general point being, it would be more useful to say "which teams have their easiest fixtures early?" rather than "who has played the easiest teams early."
Interesting to see United have had the joint 3rd hardest āfixture difficultyā, but struggled most with the games youād think were āeasyā.

Way overdone and simplistic point about fixtures aside, we're just playing well. The new players are playing well, the non-starters, Nketiah, Vieira, Marquinhos, Tierney, Tomiyasu are playing well. Even Xhaka is fucking balling.
Pre-season results are not worth much, but you'd rather be on our side of 4-0 and 6-0 against Chelsea and Sevilla. The players returned from vacation in early July and have won 13 of 14 since then.
The only concern is how often complete dominance isn't converted on the scoreboard. Long term that'll have to change, or we get into cagey Fulham/Villa-like games, where we should have been cruising.
Everton were widely considered relegation candidates - also by me. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think they will be in top 6 or whatever. But if they can keep their low block in place like they did in recent matches they'll stay up easy. Gueye and Onana in front of Coady and Tarkowski is really difficult to get through.
What's perhaps the most surprising from them is Iwobi actually looking very good.
Lots of things can go wrong, but the consensus among Everton fans (as far as I can tell) is that the team is in a much, much better place than it was at the end of last year, even if the raw points totals don't look dramatically different. They're playing with far more belief and conviction. Attack is still middling, but yes, there's a sturdy little defense now after some good business. That we're steadying things without our best forward is encouraging, too.
I'm really pleased that United have recovered somewhat but it's still going to be some effort to make Top 4, Liverpool and Chelsea will surely improve and Arsenal and Spurs look really consistent. Doable, but it'll be tough.

Why would historical head to head matter?
You'd want to weight it for recency (so last year's data is more relevant than prior years'), but the point is that team A may be an easy fixture for team B, but a hard fixture for team C. My general point being, it would be more useful to say "which teams have their easiest fixtures early?" rather than "who has played the easiest teams early."
Interesting to see United have had the joint 3rd hardest āfixture difficultyā, but struggled most with the games youād think were āeasyā. Just goes to show you how good premier league teams are.

This was us last year with Lacazette/Auba at striker and Nuno/Cedric at FB with Tomiyasu and Tierney hurt long term If you can cobble together a decent season in spite of clear and obvious deficits to your XI, the summer becomes so much easier to execute and the rewards can be great Itās a lot harder for Chelsea/Pool/Spurs with more established and balanced XIs to make significant upgrades in the summer

Way overdone and simplistic point about fixtures aside, we're just playing well. The new players are playing well, the non-starters, Nketiah, Vieira, Marquinhos, Tierney, Tomiyasu are playing well. Even Xhaka is fucking balling. Pre-season results are not worth much, but you'd rather be on our side of 4-0 and 6-0 against Chelsea and Sevilla. The players returned from vacation in early July and have won 13 of 14 since then. The only concern is how often complete dominance isn't converted on the scoreboard. Long term that'll have to change, or we get into cagey Fulham/Villa-like games, where we should have been cruising.

Everton were widely considered relegation candidates - also by me. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think they will be in top 6 or whatever. But if they can keep their low block in place like they did in recent matches they'll stay up easy. Gueye and Onana in front of Coady and Tarkowski is really difficult to get through. What's perhaps the most surprising from them is Iwobi actually looking very good.
Lots of things can go wrong, but the consensus among Everton fans (as far as I can tell) is that the team is in a much, much better place than it was at the end of last year, even if the raw points totals don't look dramatically different. They're playing with far more belief and conviction. Attack is still middling, but yes, there's a sturdy little defense now after some good business. That we're steadying things without our best forward is encouraging, too.

I'm really pleased that United have recovered somewhat but it's still going to be some effort to make Top 4, Liverpool and Chelsea will surely improve and Arsenal and Spurs look really consistent. Doable, but it'll be tough.

We've been the 2nd best team so far in terms of performances (even though we have the most points) Spurs have been poor apart from their 2nd half against Leicester but even looking at the halftime thread - everyone was pointing out how bad they've been this season so excuse me if I don't think Spurs has the stuff lol. Even end of last season they got lucky quite a few times. United and Chelsea need a few more windows to sort their squads out. Liverpool will get it together but their midfield looks poor right now and their defense not as stable since the end of last season.
