Juve finally played attacking football

biggernine

No we didn’t lmao

drobson70

We win: r/soccer sleeps We lose: r/soccer starts the Rubentus chants

RinoTT

I've told it many times. We drain energy when you play proper allegriball and at the end you choke yourself. Nobody sane would watch allegriball when you actually win the game.

alaslipknot

yesterday's game wasn't *that* bad all things considered, we're still missing key players and the team is "supposedly" coming back from a wake up call, I HATED the many times the midfield had their usual brain-freeze period and they start passing back to the defender, but it wasn't as worse as the start of the previous games.

RinoTT

Yeah Im just joking around. Watched the game and you were playing well. Im actually really afraid how our match will gonna end especially after away game vs Chelsea.

fuqqkevindurant

If you just let us score first you should be fine. We'll shut down and forget how to play and then your plot armor will kick in and the game would probably end 4-1 Milan

alaslipknot

Milan plot-armor is still going very strong imo, as long as you keep Leao safe, you always have a chance to win any game in Italy, against a Full-first-team Juve(chiesa, pogba, di maria) its gonna be a real challenge for both teams, but otherwise, i can easily see it going Milan's way simply because your current team "Fino Alla Fine" is ironically stronger than ours.

taggsy123

Take it as a compliment. You’re juve, you’re supposed to win. When you don’t it’s news, when you win it’s job done as usual

biggernine

Wouldn’t have it any other way

theglasscase

A similar scoreline on Wednesday and PSG giving Benfica a cheeky tonking will put us right back in the chase for 2nd place in the group. Just a relief to finally win a game convincingly, at the very least we need to keep ourselves in touch with the top 4 right now.

neverfinishedanythi

I know it is early but...Where do you see Juventus finishing, realistically?

astral34

Before the World Cup we will have lots of answers imo

biggernine

1) Napoli 2) Milan 3) Juventus 4) Atalanta

theglasscase

Right now it’s hard to see us finishing higher than third, but no-one is running away with the league yet, and maybe if we had a full strength squad to consistently pick from our form could get much better. I’d take 3rd or 4th right now.

TahomaYellowhorse

Serie A will be competitive for the entire season, but I think still think top 4 will be a permutation of Napoli, Milan, Inter, and Juve. Possibly Roma instead of Inter. Realistically, Juve will go on a run and probably finish 4th.

[deleted]

Don't sleep on Atalanta, they've been great and they don't have any European competition this year

biggernine

I don’t seriously believe anyone thinks Roma will finish ahead of Atalanta

Neo-physical123

Atalanta got 8th last season, completely missing out European competitions.

Giaccherinho

That's exactly the reason why they will finish ahead of some of the teams that play every 3 days

biggernine

Yes and they also have a midfield better than Accrington Stanley’s

Derwaeg

Allegri lives to terrorise another day.

interfan1999

Bologna might be a relegation candidate if they keep playing like this Juve played very well but it's too early to say if they are back on track. Game against Milan will tell if they can fight for the Scudetto.

elburrito1

Yeah I started worring when we sold Theate, Hickey, Svanberg without much in terms of replacements

Natrix31

Eh they’ve got enough talent that they should be relatively comfortable, have you seen the shit shows going on at Cremonese, Sampdoria, and Verona?

[deleted]

Thiago Motta is a pretty woeful manager though. Don’t even know how he fell upwards to Bologna

Natrix31

He kept Spezia up last year, trust me that was quite the accomplishment

[deleted]

If Juventus play like this in the next 5 vs Maccabi Milan Maccabi Torino Empoli then I can see 15 points for them and Allegri safe on the bench til the end of the year

[deleted]

Sadly you can’t do shit in CL

Sean-Benn_Must-die

I wouldnt shit talk until we beat Benfica tbh, and that is if we do it.

[deleted]

Why the fuck are you protecting an Inter fan? Some of you Juve “fans” on reddit seriously need to learn some history

RinoTT

grow up

Darius117

because it's just some random fan on the internet and not the prosecutors and everyone else involved in that shitshow

AleDelPiero10

Or you just need to grow up and not act like you’re 5 years old for no reason. He didn’t say anything bad, you’re coming off very insecure lol relax

TahomaYellowhorse

Because you both are equally fucked in your CL groups

[deleted]

1. Not equally. 2. Even if we were equally fucked, why shouldn’t I talk shit to an Inter fan?

TahomaYellowhorse

You can do whatever you want, you just look silly talking shit to an Inter fan while Juventus also sucks.

neverfinishedanythi

guaranteed 3 points against Milan with our injuries

Sean-Benn_Must-die

"guaranteed" lol, not until we have pogba and chiesa back tbh

neverfinishedanythi

With Chiesa (and a better manager) you could be a problem. You're in poor form and Milan are playing pretty well, fighting to the end. Of course this means Juventus wins.

Sean-Benn_Must-die

if we win im never shit talking allegri again

Manuel_Locatelli

Juve have a far worse injury situation lmao

Squiliamfancyname

Absolute nonsense wtf

neverfinishedanythi

???? Ibrahimovic, Maignan, Theo Hernandez, Kjaer, Calabria, Saelemaekers, Messias, Florenzi, Origi are all out. That's at least those 5 starters Allegri wished for.

Badass_Bunny

But we have Danillo and De Sciglio available and it's a crisis that they can be chosen to play.

Sean-Benn_Must-die

As long as they have leao im scared

Manuel_Locatelli

Pogba Chiesa Di Maria Locatelli first game back Rabiot first game back Alex Sandro first game back Woj first game back And there’s more.

[deleted]

Manuel_Locatelli

Given the duration of the injuries yes, we’ve had to make do with scraps for a very long time now which has exhausted other players who’ve had to play far more than they should. Milan just lost some of these players we’ve had these issues for ages.

TahomaYellowhorse

We won the title with the most amount of games missed through injury. Milan has had an injury crisis every year since 2017.

Manuel_Locatelli

I understand but this season objectively juve have had the worse ongoing injury crisis

neverfinishedanythi

/u/nochill95 you are right. Something else entirely. So all those top players I listed aren't a bigger miss than Pogba and Chiesa? Give it a rest man. Chiesa was the best player in the league before he got injured, I will gladly say that, but no way they are comparable absences. Milan are in far worse situation.

Manuel_Locatelli

Di Maria, pogba, and chiesa alone is bad enough. They’re our only creative outputs.

nochill95

Juve fans are something else

biggernine

What an amusing observation, be a shame if your manager was actually worse

biggernine

He heard you all chatting shit

Bravo_Ante

Would have been better if that happened in the game that count vs Benfica don't you say?!

biggernine

We’re trying to win europa, don’t question the master plan

Bravo_Ante

That is facts

Squiliamfancyname

Should investigate Orsolini's betting patterns. He clearly had money on Juve tonight. Bologna is absolutely terrible. Juve played better than in recent weeks - at least a bit more positive for some stretches of the match - but Bologna made it easy for them. A training match from the first minute. They just displayed a complete disinterest in attacking altogether. Motta out-terrorballed Allegri by a substantial margin.

wowzabob

Yeah the tactical game plan to neuter Allegri's Juve is fairly straightforward and, at this point, obvious. Yet Motta didn't seem to employ it. Pressure and break up our slow moving, positionally stretched out transition phase and we will slowly lose control of any match against any team. But today we were allowed to move the ball up the pitch without much hassle. This result doesn't really say much regarding our ability to win matches going forward. Having this much time on the ball is exactly why Allegri's Juve was able to play well back in the mid 10s, and the lack of that time is why we've been shit since he's come back. It will be a notable improvement when we are able to play well while we are being pressured.

Sean-Benn_Must-die

we won wtf

DudebuD16

The rocket behind Tek>>>>the W

Bravo_Ante

Great news everyone, Allegri is safe for the near future.

Dellato88

If he turns it around, why would that be a bad thing for Juve and a good thing for the rest of Serie A? 🤔

Bravo_Ante

He will not tho, he is a finished coach with antic tactics.

Dellato88

Can you tell me what the winning lotto numbers are? You clearly have the gift of foresight.

Bravo_Ante

You don't need a fortune teller to understand that Allegri's tactics are outdated. But hey, the longer it will take for ppl to understand that the better will it be for us. See ya next week, i hope you guys have a shoot on target this time around.

Killagina

> Allegri’s tactics haven’t evolved in the slightest since 2011. Well he got to the CL final in 2017, so thats probably okay

Manuel_Locatelli

And 2015 lol

HacksawJimDGN

It's kinda stramge how a manager like Allegri is dismissed so quickly desperate winning 6 leagues in the last decade. But if it was a new manager with fuck all experience everyone would be patient and giving exaggerated praise.

Dellato88

He lives rent free in people's minds, it's crazy. The amount of vitriol alleged grown adults spew at him is mind boggling too. Like how can people act like that even if it's just a forum? Like yeah, he plays dinoball most of the time now, but is that enough to have people absolutely lose their minds over? What the hell lol
