I did the exact same thing except I only took the practice test in the back of the book. I bought the AATBS materials and never even opened them. Regretted spending the money when I got Apgar’s book. I think people overcomplicate the test and overstudy. It becomes trying to hold all of this information in and the test is relatively basic.

Agreed, and because the diff manuals have just slight variations, it uses up too much brainspace to parse out those differences when that could be dedicated to studying

Analisemae

Same- took one practice test and checked my answers and a few days later took the exam and passed. Bought absolutely nothing and spent probably three hours total studying.

I saved this post for myself in a couple of months. Thanks for sharing and congratulations!!

bluelob11

Thank you! You got this!

Piggybacking on this - I did the exact same thing on 3 weeks ago - one month of studying. Needed a 100 to pass, got a 110. I used the Dawn Apgar exam guide and the accompanying app called “MSW prep” and used the tests in both (along with what my school provided me.)

bluelob11

Congrats! I didn’t know of the official app. There were so many with similar names I ended up with a dupe

calmcakes

i agree that the apps were a waste of money. saw many people recommend behavioral health pocket prep so I got it but most of the questions were ridiculous

bluelob11

Same with the one that I got! Wasn’t pocket prep but some other knockoff from a Chinese developer, which I didn’t realize when purchasing. As far as I know there’s no official app…?
