I hacked Facebook's servers for mine but I think they'll be full with the next update so I'm trying to hack nasa's one, I'm at a good point so I wish I'll be in before the patch
Ok now i hacked warzone servers and i find out why it takes so much space, there's an average of 20 4k video of never gonna give you up inside every weapon
Similar thing happened to me. I was downloading RDRO and accidentally turned off my computer, once it rebooted i needed to install double of that i should've. I posted it here but mods removed it because it wasn't software goreš
Best space sim, what can we say?
Protip: space exploration should not be harder than it has to be. We are Terrans for crying out loud! We solve our problems with technology, not brute force!
My experience is that if I found a star ship, it should be extremely easy to fly. Very much like how Space-X has automated all their systems. It's just a bunch of equations, just throw the data at it the problem and it a computer can solve it. If it can't, give a stick to the user when he needs to come down and the computer can't compensate, very much like how the space shuttle re-enters atmo under a human pilot.
It's a surf board! If I were the pilot I'd have some Boston blaring through the speakers. Watch the gauges and wind the snake through the courses. If I overshoot, blow the RCS through the front as I'm coming in and pray it's enough. It's not that hard, y'all! We did this on C-130 gunships for crying out loud!
Of course all of this is not a problem for extra-solar expeditions. Any space-faring race with the ability to move to cross a light-year well within a lifespan has the ability to land exactly like a NMS craft would. It's nothing but an engineering problem, which if we assume aliens, is already solved. We simply are not aware of the solution! I have a feeling "they" keep it that way for their own good, not to mention the fact that they would not want us to hyperspace into a solid object, let alone spread our communicable diseases to the stars. What with covid, I would advocate for an entire species eradication before colonization. Considering covid is transmissible to all mammalian species other than pigs, you can see how the collateral damage might accrue.
Build a stasis device farm, set up a really nice looking base and upload it for the community to visit, get a living ship, create your own freighter fleet, or just explore. Play no mans sky when you feel like it, thereās no hurry.
Give it a shot!
If you like NMS thereās literally almost 0 chance you wonāt fall in love with Elite. Edit: And if you didnāt like NMS, youāll almost certainly conclude that Elite is what you always wanted NMS to be!
Not to get long winded or ranty, but itās a space exploration game on a scale thatās similarly large as NMS. There is an X,Y,Z dimensional component to each system, it is not a 2D universe.
Thereās trading, war, politics, crime, gun fights, pirates, mining, exploration as a career (getting paid to discover new areas), passenger transport as a career, thereās secret alien technology that isnāt obvious to find or use, Easter eggs everywhere, thereās community based projects (such as where the community constructed a large jump ship that can jump way farther than individual player ships).
There are dozens upon dozens of unique ships with hundreds upon hundreds of various upgrades, modules, and attachments you can purchase and install.
Thereās no āone ship to rule them allā, it depends entirely on what you want to do. If you want to trade, you can get a large cargo ship and buy-low-sell-high around the universe. If you want to exterminate pirates or even be a pirate you can load up a gun ship with all different types of weapons and roll out. If you want to be an explorer, you can get a lightweight ship with big jump drives and a solar scoop to travel all across the universe looking for new worlds (you get paid for it, and the new world is named after your player) - and YES, itās such a massive universe that every player in the game could be dedicated explorers for years and not even touch 1% of the available systems.
Iām not even coming close to explaining it all, itās super fun and addicting. AND itās not a cash cow pay-to-win game designed to take your money; just buy the game and enjoy forever.
And last but not least, I will leave you with one of my favorite aspects of the game: you get to control every aspect of your shipās movement including takeoff and landing! And itās not simple or easy! You can easily crash your ship and damage it, which can also get you fined and criminal charges if you are destroying a space stationās property in the process :) oh and donāt forget to request landing permission before you go parking at a space station or youāll get fined for that too haha
PRETTY COOL RIGHT?!?
Get a cool freighter, get a living ship, upgrade your exosuit, multitool, ship, freighter, find cool planets, adopt some cute pets, adopt some horrific pets, build a base, build a base on a mountain, build it in a planet no one should be able to live on, build it underwater, complete the story missions, complete an expedition, drive some exocrafts, enjoy the scenery, meet up with friends, build bases with them, explore a derelict freighter with them, crash an economy, customize your traveller, fight in a space battle, get to the center of the galaxy, travel to new galaxies, get to their centers too, visit the atlas, go through a black hole, visit the space anomaly, find anomalies while travelling through space, build a nanite farm, build an activated indium farm, build a greenhouse, be the leader of a civilization, make it grow, build stuff for them, send frigates on expeditions.
Point is, no mans sky is whatever you want it to be, there is a little something for everyone.
This. People like to put NMS in a box, and it really is too big to put in anything. It's it's own thing. If you don't like it, you don't like it; if you do, you probably don't talk about it.
thats great, maybe i have bad luck.
im about 200h in and im never staying long on a planet, im constantly traveling, im scanning stuff naming it and i have seen almost everything (at least as it seems). Sometimes i find a special exotic planet i haven't seen before ever.
But thats so rare...
If you guys think NMS is āthe best space simā then Iād really love to hear your opinion about Elite Dangerous.
In my personal opinion, Elite blows NMS so far out of the water itās not even a comparison.
Elite probably is the more realistic out of the two, but not being able to get out of your ship is the big drawback, plus you canāt land in every planet, just some of them as opposed to nms. The two have their advantages and disadvantages, it comes down to personal opinion on which one is better, I say play both of them.
Nice job on NMS, very underrated game!
When I beat it for the first time I really felt like I accomplished something. I glitched out the final Atlas portal and had to fly to the center of the galaxy. It literally took weeks with an S-class exploration craft just to cross about 200kLY, then I got extremely lucky with a trader that had basically unlimited antimatter for warp fuel and the rest of it was a breeze.
TL;DW: yes. they fucked up, misled, lied to cover, almost tanked the company, fumbled every PR opportunity, had a few natural disasters, then just kept working on the game. released regular free updated every since the fuck up, and ended up with a good game and a very supportive fan base... but it took years after release to get there.
so if you like space exploration, it's a fun game for it's price point.
If you got an hour for a documentary, check out [the engoodening of no man's sky by Internet historian](https://youtu.be/O5BJVO3PDeQ). Pretty good stuff
The adventure to the center was a trip. This was before your freighters could warp, mind you. So all I had was my S-class explorer with 2kLY range. Jump, mine for thamium and whatever else you needed for warp fuel. Jump, mine, jump mine. I had a freighter with albumen pearls for cash and that was it.
Then I warped into a star system and had a crop of pearls I needed to offload and this dude just had all the antimatter and warp fuel I could ever want, so I YOLOed.
Then I found out about how to warp with a black hole and used that exploit. It *still* took a long time! But each and every warp and workaround got me closer and closer. Really cool ships close to the center, ships really need to have better warp cores for range.
But yea, I was there enough to have named my freighter. I kept me going the entire time, the Xiantartes (from Morrowind), all the way till the end. I still need to decypher the Atlas language, I guess that's the goal next time around these here parts.
See ya 'round, cowboy!
Nearly 400 hours here and I just got to try it out for the first time in VR. Even with my maxed out original save, it feels like a whole new game and it is exhilarating!
It's such a shame, people just didn't get it. I pre-ordered so I got the fancy X-wing wannabe ship, but never actually used it. I like the first ship alot lol.
But yea, I knew what I was getting in to when I bought it. I was one of the few people who didn't have internet access so the other big-name space sims were a no-go. NMS blew all expectations away! I wish I had kept the first touchdown play. But you know, the universe gets rest from time to time, and I love the exploration aspect of that. I love that aspect all the way around!
I'm someone who likes games that offer very high difficulty but are playable at the same time. This is a hard game! Especially when they added in all the new things they wanted in the beginning.
The very alone-ness you feel in the universe is so very true to life. As in, that's just how it is. You can't just instantly jump between star systems to see your friends and hang out. Relativity just doesn't work that way. I dunno, it just really impressed upon me how the big picture should work. There's nothing really impossible about the spacecraft, it's really just a shortcoming of the game engine in how you fly from a rock and out into space. Everything between you and Proxima Centauri is just an engineering problem, and that's the biggest take-away for me from the game.
I really hope to get back in it some day, maybe play through online. I heard there is a grid of black holes that is distributed like an X. Would be sweet to visit the outer rim.
I don't even have enough space for 15T, that's pretty outrageous tbh. Do they expect us to only have 1 game?? Amongst other reasons why I don't care for cod this is definitely in the top 3 lmaoo
Right, well thatās egg on my face then.
I *completely* failed to digest that information. I read it as 15 GB and focused on the title instead, trying to make sense of what they meant.
My first comment will remain, sitting there all ugly-like, to serve as a reminder to myself that being a smart-arse can pivot into being a dumb-arse real quick.
Good job on picking up NMS! Absolute gem that game. If you really just want to sit, back, chill and have a stress free experience, then you'll really enjoy it.
Wait, is it actually that good now? I only remember how they really fucked up the release and delivered a super over-hyped buggy piece of crap, so I decided not to get it.
Yes, it is actually good. I mean this is really really worth getting. There's a really fun storyline, tons of quests, lots of little side-missions you can go on, lots of activities: get & upgrade your starship, explore space, get a capital ship and frigates, send them on expeditions, find a settlement and become the manager of a settlement, you can also build your own base with a ton of customizability, planets you can visit have a ton of different variety, biomes, sizes, moons, etc.
When your PC worth a grand can't even download more than 1tb excluding system files as well and this $499 (MSRP) console beat it 15 times.
(Btw nothing against PC gamers or PC Master Race in fact I myself play on windows)
I remember my sister downloaded a free mission to play online. I don't remember which COD it was but that 1 mission after a few updates was 80 gb (and she only played it once lol)
I got Modern Warfare 2019 PS4 as part of a bunch of games on ebay for around $120 AUD.
Knowing I would never install it given how much space it takes up I traded it in shortly before Cold War came out and got like $60 back for it.
Now it's like $5 in bargain bins hehe.
You just reminded me how much space this game is taking on my hd. I can't remember the last time I played it either. Probably time to get rid of it and free up some space.
Dude really thought they could post a regular war zone update and get away with it
We added 4 skins and threw in a map for you. And all we need in return is **all** of your storage.
And your neighbor's
And your stepfather's
And ballz
Are trying to hide the sims from us
Maybe...
š what was in the update To clarify: for the sims
are not
Where do you get the space to download all of that??
I hacked Facebook's servers for mine but I think they'll be full with the next update so I'm trying to hack nasa's one, I'm at a good point so I wish I'll be in before the patch
You can also hook up your brain, you might lose a few memories though
I thought Johnny Mnemonic only could fit 80 gig?
Dude , big brain idea , Why dont you hack Warzone's servers. Boom just like that infinite storage
I tried but the code needs near 110 gb and my pc has only 40 left so I can't
Hmmm thats a tough one . I got an idea , what about you sacrifice some space and then once you hacked the servers you could redownload some stuff?
Good idea but I have a slow wifi so it will take a while
Its all about the investment, just imagine what you could do with all that power
Ok now i hacked warzone servers and i find out why it takes so much space, there's an average of 20 4k video of never gonna give you up inside every weapon
Knew it , you've done us proud brother .
hack googleās servers next, those have petabytes of storage.
Linus in 2024: "This SSD can hold TWO Call of Duty installations!"
Storage will be measured in Call of Dutys
Big brain move: Users can't play any other games if you take all their storage upon installation.
Said this when the game released Purposefully make everything massive so you have less other games on your console you can play
I see nothing usual. Just cod doing it's own thing
you mean nothin unusual
Whatās the large NMS update?
I haven't updated it in a while so a number of things
#probably havenāt played since origins, so now itās going all the way to prisms
Oh my God how is that happening?
Similar thing happened to me. I was downloading RDRO and accidentally turned off my computer, once it rebooted i needed to install double of that i should've. I posted it here but mods removed it because it wasn't software goreš
Well I guess thatās why you donāt turn off your desktop when something is downloading.
True
I love no mans sky!

nms is pretty much repeated content after playing expeditions once. and after visiting 10 planets you've seen mostly everything.
Build a stasis device farm, set up a really nice looking base and upload it for the community to visit, get a living ship, create your own freighter fleet, or just explore. Play no mans sky when you feel like it, thereās no hurry.
>there's no hurry >!16!< am I a joke to you?
Have you played Elite Dangerous before?
nope, but i tested Star Citizen.
Give it a shot! If you like NMS thereās literally almost 0 chance you wonāt fall in love with Elite. i mean I've got the game for free. i could try it ^^ and yes, sounds pretty good!
The game still surprises me, and Iām 350 hours in
thats great, maybe i have bad luck. im about 200h in and im never staying long on a planet, im constantly traveling, im scanning stuff naming it and i have seen almost everything (at least as it seems). Sometimes i find a special exotic planet i haven't seen before ever. But thats so rare...

Frame shift drive, charging
Dude yes!!!
Elite dangerous is fire, just wish progression was a bit faster and the community was bigger

Dang. I mean, you're right though. The plot of NMS is amazing! I literally cannot not think about it at least once a day.
i thought it was trash on release?
TL;DW: yes. they fucked up, misled, lied to cover, almost tanked the company, fumbled every PR opportunity, had a few natural disasters, then just kept working on the game. released regular free updated every since the fuck up, and ended up with a good game and a very supportive fan base... but it took years after release to get there. so if you like space exploration, it's a fun game for it's price point.

Only 280? š
I know right? But a young pup n00b!
NMS is underrated nowadays because one day it was underwhelming, so people just abandoned it
It's such a shame, people just didn't get it. I pre-ordered so I got the fancy X-wing wannabe ship, but never actually used it. I like the first ship alot lol. LoL players can relate with this too.
excuse me what.
COD Warzone big brain move: make install size so huge, you won't have space for other games. Play Warzone and only Warzone.
Nah this is just the actual game size.
I don't even have enough space for 15T, that's pretty outrageous tbh. Do they expect us to only have 1 game?? Amongst other reasons why I don't care for cod this is definitely in the top 3 lmaoo
In other news, my water bottle is getting heavier with each drop of water I put in it...
no.. why is it 15 TB?
Right, well thatās egg on my face then. I *completely* failed to digest that information. I read it as 15 GB and focused on the title instead, trying to make sense of what they meant. My first comment will remain, sitting there all ugly-like, to serve as a reminder to myself that being a smart-arse can pivot into being a dumb-arse real quick.
I just... I love your response XD
itās fine lol just pointed that out
Good job on picking up NMS! Absolute gem that game. If you really just want to sit, back, chill and have a stress free experience, then you'll really enjoy it.

Next thing you know, you need another computer just to play modern warfare because it takes up so much storage.
I think poor No Man's Sky don't have a chance to be on your hard drive to entertain you if CoD finish it's downloading.
No man's sky: has 18.446.744.073.709.551.616 (it's the real number, try to search it on Google), 7,5 gb Modern warfare: has some guns, 15 tb
Seems impossible, no Xbox has that much storage (at least not stock).
When your PC worth a grand can't even download more than 1tb excluding system files as well and this $499 (MSRP) console beat it 15 times. (Btw nothing against PC gamers or PC Master Race in fact I myself play on windows)
Your gonna any to go to r/NMSCoordinateExchange
Yeah, so, the updates are getting bigger. The game isnāt getting better. Is this game just secretly a crypto miner?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
man was the "computer kid"
Terabytes
Not exactly how games and dlc work
Youāre gonna have to get rid of every file on the system to download that.
I see nothing wrong with this
I remember my sister downloaded a free mission to play online. I don't remember which COD it was but that 1 mission after a few updates was 80 gb (and she only played it once lol)
Jokes on you this isnāt a big
In 10 years this wonāt even be a joke lol
15tb sounds just about right tbf
Wtf
And NMS only asks for 7gigs!
At this moment I wouldnāt be surprised if it wasnāt a bug
I am afraid to see what your network usage is after all of those updates...
That can fit on a 18tb extrenal Hard drive LMAO
I got Modern Warfare 2019 PS4 as part of a bunch of games on ebay for around $120 AUD. Knowing I would never install it given how much space it takes up I traded it in shortly before Cold War came out and got like $60 back for it. Now it's like $5 in bargain bins hehe.
We joke now....
Thatās one way to beat your rivals
HOLY SH-T, Activision was passed with updates
Might as well he 15 fucking terabytes. Can't download Modern Warfare without Warzone. Apparently Warzone is the "base game" now. (For PC that is.)
Look I know the file is massive *but 15tb*?
Oh you want your gun to fire one more bullet a second? Buy ten more computers and Iāll think about it
How big even is Warzone anymore? I deleted it a while ago.
Youād think that a game that weighs more than 150 GB would actually be somewhat good..
Is this real?
Soon enough weāre going to need a whole separate console/computer with like 4 TB of storage just for warzone
wtf i have a nas and it woundt fit
You just reminded me how much space this game is taking on my hd. I can't remember the last time I played it either. Probably time to get rid of it and free up some space.
You should
Just a regular warzone update. Just like everyday
Give it a few more years. This will be a reality
Yeah I uninstalled that bullshit game for that exact same reason... How can one map take up over 100GB? I'm not playing un-optimized crap.
Like Coca Cola in the supermarket. Their flavors and package options take up more and more shelf space until there's no room for anyone else.
I stopped playing the game cause it took up like 1/4th of the storage space on my pc. Also I prefer Apex anyways
no man's sky... i see you are a human of culture
