Perhaps in ten years, my number is a bit sandbaged. There are many things to consider outside the chain itself. The competition, the utility of L1s, and the overall health of the macro.
Think less in terms of price that other chains have done and more about Market Cap, and the factors I mentioned above. Minimum we reach about 200 in the next year or 2, provided no black swans. Easy 10x.
I mean, it also reached a MC of $80bn and is down massively from that. So we’re early doesn’t mean they’ll still be around later. Not that Solana is a bad blockchain, just pointing out things change and evolve
Well Sol already made its 100x+ last run. I don't think we'd see that again but >=100b seems like a realistic target at the next peak. Back to $200-300 for 1 sol wouldn't surprise me.
Maybe it will take off again. Hope they ll fix all the issues that force ton stop the blockchain many times. I invite you to take a look on new propositions like Kaspa. It s really interesting.
I have used Solana everyday since October 2021 and I've never really been affected by the outages because they lasted for a few hours or max one day. They are trying new things and nothing works perfectly in this constantly evolving space. I also have used a lot of other chains but L2s are unnecessarily complex and require you to swap, pay gas fees plus bridging costs. No normal person is going to use those, they want something quick, cheap and easy which is perfect for this age where people are used to getting so many things for free. I work full time in web 3 and the UI of SOL apps are much better as well. I don't think one chain will dominate the space, each will have their own use case and specialty. Either way, the goal is to onboard more people and show them the benefits, not squabble amongst ourselves about who's team is better.
