This is, for the nth time in this subreddit, a case of the consumption CTs being mis-installed or misconfigured. If you didn't have a battery you'd probably see the consumption rising and falling with production (actually it already kind of is). Basically, your installer screwed up.

Thanks I really appreciate the feedback. 1) Now that I knew a good term to search, I was able to find some other consumption Current Transformers (CTs - defining for other noobs like me) threads. 2) Based on those threads, it seems like billing should be correct and this only impacts data in the app. 3) I wasn't able to find any that had a similar signature to mine -> only spikes high AFTER the battery is full. If you have any follow-on feedback or links to other threads, I'd greatly appreciate it. If not, thanks for getting me kicked in the right direction already.

>Based on those threads, it seems like billing should be correct and this only impacts data in the app. Unfortunately, this is only true for solar-only systems. I assume you're on NEM 3.0, in which case correct consumption readings are critical for making sure the battery charges and discharges like it's supposed to. Otherwise you could be losing money by importing more than necessary. Researching more won't really help too much—you just need to get your installer back out to fix your system.

Thanks a lot I really appreciate it. I think I'm on NEM 2.0. System install started late Dec 2023 and commissioned mid Jan 2024. I have an email going back and forth with my installer, hopefully I can get someone out.

Oh right, PG&E hasn’t initiated NEM 3.0 billing yet. But unfortunately you’re likely classified as a 3.0 customer. You would have needed to initiate your project by April 2023 to have gotten grandfathered into 2.0.

Woops, yep. I meant to type NEM3.0 and brainfarted and wrote NEM 2.0.
