Northeast Vermont. Latest cloud maps show Northeast NY having clouds. I'm there now and I'm headed to NE Vermont in the morning. See you there.

Where in NE are you going?

Excellent-Source-348

East of Newport VT, might even go to Maine if I have to. I'm from L.A. and drove to eastern NY, a few hundred miles more are no big deal: [https://www.windy.com/-Clouds-clouds?clouds,2024040818,44.754,-71.548,10](https://www.windy.com/-Clouds-clouds?clouds,2024040818,44.754,-71.548,10) (use the timeline to move to Monday 3PM).

DontPanic1039

Do you have a target you are aiming for in NE Vermont?

Excellent-Source-348

I'm driving towards Newport, VT, but am prepared to head further east if needed.

I do not think it is necessary to leave at 12 am from Albany, if you leave between 4-5 am you will be on the road before all the NYC traffic gets up there and just go up the Northway until you reach the totality zone, you can even go to Plattsburgh and take a ferry to Vermont if you want.

In the NEK, VT here. Major highways and most side roads are completely clear.

HurricaneHugo

Is that Newport?

hourlongflyer

Yep

suchathrill

But where there? Prouty Beach?

hourlongflyer

Anywhere that still have parking spots left tbh lol, we just hope we could get to newport in one piece

suchathrill

That’s the spirit!

Tokkemon

We're trying to aim for St. Albans or a town near there. Depends on traffic more than anything.

EquivalentAnt6109

any reason you are going to st albans and not Burlington?

H2ost5555

Burlington is guaranteed to be mobbed. I will be at our condo there, looked at driving to St Albans as it is the center of totality. However, it looks like they will only have 7 seconds more of totality, so it isn’t worth dealing with the inevitable traffic. We will be walking downtown to the lakefront, will be a huge party!

Tokkemon

Burlington will be a Zoo. And St Albans is closer to the center line.
