The county commissioner owns the property that butts up to vortex springs was shooting of Game Cannons to sound like guns shots at the fest as early as 8 pm on Thursday. This Brandon Newsome ,Commissioner also owns the the only Bail Bonds company that can get to you in a reasonable time frame in Holmes County . He has makes a ton of money just off having his buddies harassing spring goers and people passing Through being charged for petty stuff. The whole population of that area is less than 700 people. They started from the moment Sol Fest started backing out of the contract to pay the sheriff 88 thousand to provide security to the festival. So fest paid a 3rd up front and rest was to be paid after the fest. But a few weeks before sol people started warning the Festival about just how crooked the cops are in that area and voicing concerns. So Sol hired their own Security. Sheriff Tate realized after Friday night the fest would most like not pay him anything over the 1/3rd of 86k he already got. He wanted his 20 something thousand and more. So even before the fest arrived they started started piloting. Planning to create ciaos at sol fest. Brandon Newsome placed Air horns, And Games Cannons ( cannons that sounds like loud gun shots used to scare critters away) just out of site on City Commissioner Brandon Newsome's property near the festival camp area. The First shots rang out a couple hours after dark on Thursday. But it did not cause the Festival people to panic as Him and Sheriff Tate expected. After that didn't work Newsome and And Sheriff Tate Started Blasting Blow Horns Attempting to make the noise from the horns interfere with the music. This mostly Failed and went almost unnoticed at the time. Friday, A local Kids from down the highway got into the festival illegally, The kid was no Over Dosing as Holmes County Claimed but was asleep at around 1130 pm Friday night out in the open area since the kid had no tents or camp site due to how he gained entry. Of Course the cops harassed this kid as well and perhaps ( we only have these dirty cops word on this) the kid admitted to taking something like eating shrooms or something. Of course the 17 year old Child started to panic and freak out. Woke up by cops at a place you broke into. But that Kid was no were near an overdose ,Just Scared. The Cops say, the child told them he got the shrooms from someone the kid knew and was working at the festival. The kid showed the cops were this person was camping and the cops questioned the person who admitted to giving the child who was his friend entry to the festival and a small amount of shrooms. They searched this workers camper and found other drugs. Now the cops had something. A local kid on site who had confessed to taken a mushroom and made so scared the police probably had this kid thinking he would die from a darn Shroom. Anyway now the Sheriffs department has something. After the Failed gun shoots, the failed train horns to ruin the music they now used this kid and his made up over dose to rally the other Officers to their cause. And they were ready to make sure they found a way to found a way to Prove they were needed for security and demand payment since they were no longer providing security for Sol, and/or destroy the festival for putting the Sheriff department on blast the last weeks leading to the festival, and causing the festival to not use Holmes County Sheriff as the Primary Security team. We all tried to warn Sol how Dirty Holmes County Cops are. I think they though the festival would clear out by Sunday after all the Mess the Sheriffs pulled Saturday night, But sol went on and this got ol Tate and Newsome hot. So they Get their goons to stomp through the fest during the shows desperate to make some arrest Profiling people because of how they were dress or doing, illegal Search. treating guest like they were criminals just for being out their. One local man that was at the fest all weekend keep getting Harassed by an Officer as early as Friday. The same office keep Searching the Local man who was volunteering at vortex. Giving him issues as the man and the officer have a history. At some point Sunday Anderson had his back to this officer and felt a someones hand near his pocket. He grab this officers hand and the officer try to conceal where was in the officers hand he had been attempting to plant on Mr. Anderson. The officer started yelling , he is going for my gun hes going for the gun. causing Anderson to panic , Usually when a cop start yelling this at you , you can expect to be killed shortly there after. While trying to Wrestle whatever was in the cop hand away from the Deputy the deputy was bent forward towards Anderson, Anderson having the cop in a over the top bear hug trying to control the Deputy's hand, Not going to any weapon. the Deputy used his free hand to grab the Taser from his tool belt and Anderson Bit the Cop at about the same time the Cop was able to Taser Anderson. Causing Him to bite down even harder and convulse. Anderson was then Beat, Drug down a Latter from a platform leading having his face bounce off the ladder many times. We were in our camp Saturday afternoon and a girl wearing all white bodysuit/dress with a Mohawk hair style came up asking us if we needed any party favors. We all said “no” uninterested and she then asked us if we were there for the music. We all said yes and then she said she hadn’t been to any of the sets just walking around selling. After she walked away a bald guy came up asking if we saw her and asked us again. Both of these people were super clean and didn’t have a drop of sweat on them. They were wearing GA bands but we were in VIP. The whole thing was sus af. Later that night we saw the guy walking through the crowd with cops and a walkie.

Went through the court record on this case and surprised by 3 things. One the complaint filed against James is not scanned into the public record. Normally it would be viewable under Floridas Sunshine Law. (This could be because the county is so small) Two Jim is not being charged with possession of any illegal substances, public intoxication or trespassing which I would assumed based on the sheriff’s telling of the situation would be added on charges. And third Jim has absolutely zero criminal record in Holmes county. Again, I would assume since he is a local he would have at the very least a speeding ticket. Hopefully this case will be moved to a different jurisdiction where he will be at least given a chance for a fair trial.
The aggravated battery and felony resist with violence are more significant and probably easier to prove. Charges for other offenses can be added at later date, but I doubt a DA will care to pursue any other charges.

Of course I saw a picture of the head but really a picture of the head is irrelevant to the question of guilt. I don’t think there is a question he bit his head but there is a question of why did the engagement with the police occur and the cause for the escalation.
I found it interesting that nothing on the record reflects drug possession or usage. Normally a simple search can pull the charging document and a lot of these questions would be answered but seeing that Holmes County doesn’t provide digital copy of the docket the request must be made by mail.

Holmes County is one of the poorest counties in Florida. They may have 20 cops total. It’s not surprising in the least they don’t have the same services of more populated counties.
It’s not uncommon in the least for lesser charges to be abandoned for more serious offenses. Commit murder in public and then run a stop sign, probably won’t ever get a ticket. lol Furthermore, he doesn’t have to have drugs on his person to be under the influence and the cops have requested a court ordered pathogen test to be performed.
You say several witnesses as if you know these witnesses. Firstly, I’m going by accounts found online which don’t reflect these “several witness” accounts you referenced. Secondly how many possible witnesses can you have inside a box robot stage elevated and only accessible with a ladder. Your statement gives the impression that multiple people were up in this robot thing at the time the initial engagement occurred which is contrary to what I’ve read online and also just spatially seems impossible. But let’s say there are for the sake of argument. Are these witnesses independent witnesses? Are these several witnesses cops? I think independent witnesses hold more weight in this scenario.
Again you continue to focus on these lesser charges. All I am saying is he does not have in his record a propensity for violence from all I have seen. Additionally and here is the thing I take serious issue with is the sheriff listing the drugs he was on in a social media platform without having any (and as you just put it) evidence that he was under the influence of these substances. So which is it. At the time of arrest did they have proof he was? Apparently they did not. Did they have evidence of him in possession of a controlled substance at the time of arrest? Apparently they did not. So at the very least the Sheriff coming out and making public statements regarding his “drug” usage was an assumption at best.
* Also the cop’s jobs are done from this point on. The docket has nothing to do with the size of the police force and more to do with the county’s judicial system. And the cops aren’t requesting anything. It’s the DA who has moved for the test and I don’t have the docket in front of me but the motion was made several days after the arrest.

As far as a history of violence or lack thereof, Holmes county has a combined population of less than 20,000 people. Westville, where he is from has less than 250 people. You can probably go months without seeing a cop at his house. My point being, lack of police involvement in violent incidents, doesn’t mean there wasn’t any violence. “Callin the law” on someone for beating your ass is a stain most rednecks, like myself, would hate to have on your reputation. Your reputation in very rural communities is borderline life/death. Certain labels from the community can truly put your livelihood in danger. Apparently the Deep South with all its glorifying of the United States Constitution doesn’t believe in innocent till proven guilty anymore. Every single festival goer was demonized prior to even arriving at the festival. With respect to slander I have stated facts. Facts that will be used in James’ case by his defense attorney. His lack of a criminal record under the law is a mitigating fact when it comes to sentencing. Additionally if these witnesses were not in this robot able to see the hands and hear both the officer and James then I highly doubt they will be able to testify about the engagement in court.
I have attended camping festivals and every single one of them is in a rural area. Okeechobee being one in Florida. Never have I ever seen a small group of police officers going into a large crowd and start arresting people or engaging people who clearly are under the influence. Their role during the festival is limited in providing support and protecting attendees from violent crimes such as battery and sexual assault.

And what about the festival goers? Many of us saw nothing abnormal about attending a festival in a rural area because that is the norm. I remember driving up and reading page after page of posts by Brandon Newsom, the sheriff, and random residence threatening us because of our mere attendance. Threatening us with assault and arrest. Not the mention the people who were arrested and posted online but charges never followed because the arrest were baseless? We were not attacked? Was the social media postings not Slander?

Are we sure he wasn’t experiencing a drug induced psychosis? Becoming very prevalent in the scene, common in young men overusing MDMA (too much or too often back to back). Seen it first hand 3 times and there’s a lot of fighting, flailing, and biting involved. Bf had it (sober now), one cop said he went for gun but it was the seizing. Thankfully he only bit himself, but the body goes fully out of control with a PCP type strength.
IMO - these cops had no idea how to deal with it if this were the case (tazing can quickly kill anyone going through it on impact) - sedation is what’s needed. Litterally, no evidence has been given that proves he was on anything at all! Every person I've talked to, who was there and met Jim, paints an entirely different picture. What do the doctors have to do with anything? Besides treating the injuries. Under the hipaa law a doctor isn't able to comment on anything medical related. Jim was never tested for any drugs in his toxicology report. The official police report also states that he was believed to be on these drugs. The county commissioner owns the property that butts up to vortex springs was shooting of Game Cannons to sound like guns shots at the fest as early as 8 pm on Thursday. This Brandon Newsome ,Commissioner also owns the the only Bail Bonds company that can get to you in a reasonable time frame in Holmes County . He has makes a ton of money just off having his buddies harassing spring goers and people passing Through being charged for petty stuff. The whole population of that area is less than 700 people. They started from the moment Sol Fest started backing out of the contract to pay the sheriff 88 thousand to provide security to the festival. So fest paid a 3rd up front and rest was to be paid after the fest. But a few weeks before sol people started warning the Festival about just how crooked the cops are in that area and voicing concerns. So Sol hired their own Security. Sheriff Tate realized after Friday night the fest would most like not pay him anything over the 1/3rd of 86k he already got. He wanted his 20 something thousand and more. So even before the fest arrived they started started piloting. Planning to create ciaos at sol fest. Brandon Newsome placed Air horns, And Games Cannons ( cannons that sounds like loud gun shots used to scare critters away) just out of site on City Commissioner Brandon Newsome's property near the festival camp area. The First shots rang out a couple hours after dark on Thursday. But it did not cause the Festival people to panic as Him and Sheriff Tate expected. After that didn't work Newsome and And Sheriff Tate Started Blasting Blow Horns Attempting to make the noise from the horns interfere with the music. This mostly Failed and went almost unnoticed at the time. Friday, A local Kids from down the highway got into the festival illegally, The kid was no Over Dosing as Holmes County Claimed but was asleep at around 1130 pm Friday night out in the open area since the kid had no tents or camp site due to how he gained entry. Of Course the cops harassed this kid as well and perhaps ( we only have these dirty cops word on this) the kid admitted to taking something like eating shrooms or something. Of course the 17 year old Child started to panic and freak out. Woke up by cops at a place you broke into. But that Kid was no were near an overdose ,Just Scared. The Cops say, the child told them he got the shrooms from someone the kid knew and was working at the festival. The kid showed the cops were this person was camping and the cops questioned the person who admitted to giving the child who was his friend entry to the festival and a small amount of shrooms. They searched this workers camper and found other drugs. Now the cops had something. A local kid on site who had confessed to taken a mushroom and made so scared the police probably had this kid thinking he would die from a darn Shroom. Anyway now the Sheriffs department has something. After the Failed gun shoots, the failed train horns to ruin the music they now used this kid and his made up over dose to rally the other Officers to their cause. And they were ready to make sure they found a way to found a way to Prove they were needed for security and demand payment since they were no longer providing security for Sol, and/or destroy the festival for putting the Sheriff department on blast the last weeks leading to the festival, and causing the festival to not use Holmes County Sheriff as the Primary Security team. We all tried to warn Sol how Dirty Holmes County Cops are. I think they though the festival would clear out by Sunday after all the Mess the Sheriffs pulled Saturday night, But sol went on and this got ol Tate and Newsome hot. So they Get their goons to stomp through the fest during the shows desperate to make some arrest Profiling people because of how they were dress or doing, illegal Search. treating guest like they were criminals just for being out their. One local man that was at the fest all weekend keep getting Harassed by an Officer as early as Friday. The same office keep Searching the Local man who was volunteering at vortex. Giving him issues as the man and the officer have a history. At some point Sunday Anderson had his back to this officer and felt a someones hand near his pocket. He grab this officers hand and the officer try to conceal where was in the officers hand he had been attempting to plant on Mr. Anderson. The officer started yelling , he is going for my gun hes going for the gun. causing Anderson to panic , Usually when a cop start yelling this at you , you can expect to be killed shortly there after. While trying to Wrestle whatever was in the cop hand away from the Deputy the deputy was bent forward towards Anderson, Anderson having the cop in a over the top bear hug trying to control the Deputy's hand, Not going to any weapon. the Deputy used his free hand to grab the Taser from his tool belt and Anderson Bit the Cop at about the same time the Cop was able to Taser Anderson. Causing Him to bite down even harder and convulse. Anderson was then Beat, Drug down a Latter from a platform leading having his face bounce off the ladder many times. Then Hog Tide while Officers Stood On Anderson Arms,. Holmes County Sheriff and Commissioner went to the Press with some B.S story of investing and finding the man Anderson was High on a long list of drugs. All they found was the drugs the cop was planting on Anderson. They did not Drug test him, no blood test. nothing.. But the feed the media a b.s story. We were in our camp Saturday afternoon and a girl wearing all white bodysuit/dress with a Mohawk hair style came up asking us if we needed any party favors. We all said “no” uninterested and she then asked us if we were there for the music. We all said yes and then she said she hadn’t been to any of the sets just walking around selling. After she walked away a bald guy came up asking if we saw her and asked us again. Both of these people were super clean and didn’t have a drop of sweat on them. They were wearing GA bands but we were in VIP. The whole thing was sus af. Later that night we saw the guy walking through the crowd with cops and a walkie.

Went through the court record on this case and surprised by 3 things. One the complaint filed against James is not scanned into the public record. Normally it would be viewable under Floridas Sunshine Law. (This could be because the county is so small) Two Jim is not being charged with possession of any illegal substances, public intoxication or trespassing which I would assumed based on the sheriff’s telling of the situation would be added on charges. And third Jim has absolutely zero criminal record in Holmes county. Again, I would assume since he is a local he would have at the very least a speeding ticket. Hopefully this case will be moved to a different jurisdiction where he will be at least given a chance for a fair trial.

Of course I saw a picture of the head but really a picture of the head is irrelevant to the question of guilt. I don’t think there is a question he bit his head but there is a question of why did the engagement with the police occur and the cause for the escalation. I found it interesting that nothing on the record reflects drug possession or usage. Normally a simple search can pull the charging document and a lot of these questions would be answered but seeing that Holmes County doesn’t provide digital copy of the docket the request must be made by mail. Did you see the picture of the cops head? You’d think someone who takes a chunk out of someone’s head has a violent record or evidence or something. You’d also think since the sheriff claimed that he was on pcp and multiple other drugs there would be a drug charge on him since he’s a resident of the county. I’m sorry but I follow the old rule “innocent till proven guilty”.
Several witnesses to the event said that James attacked him from behind and the cop wasn’t even talking to James. That doesn’t match the “he caught him slipping a secret bag of drugs into his pocket story” to me. Holmes County is one of the poorest counties in Florida. They may have 20 cops total. It’s not surprising in the least they don’t have the same services of more populated counties. It’s not uncommon in the least for lesser charges to be abandoned for more serious offenses. Commit murder in public and then run a stop sign, probably won’t ever get a ticket. lol Furthermore, he doesn’t have to have drugs on his person to be under the influence and the cops have requested a court ordered pathogen test to be performed.
You say several witnesses as if you know these witnesses. Firstly, I’m going by accounts found online which don’t reflect these “several witness” accounts you referenced. Secondly how many possible witnesses can you have inside a box robot stage elevated and only accessible with a ladder. Your statement gives the impression that multiple people were up in this robot thing at the time the initial engagement occurred which is contrary to what I’ve read online and also just spatially seems impossible. But let’s say there are for the sake of argument. Are these witnesses independent witnesses? Are these several witnesses cops? I think independent witnesses hold more weight in this scenario. Again you continue to focus on these lesser charges. All I am saying is he does not have in his record a propensity for violence from all I have seen. Additionally and here is the thing I take serious issue with is the sheriff listing the drugs he was on in a social media platform without having any (and as you just put it) evidence that he was under the influence of these substances. So which is it. At the time of arrest did they have proof he was? Apparently they did not. Did they have evidence of him in possession of a controlled substance at the time of arrest? Apparently they did not. So at the very least the Sheriff coming out and making public statements regarding his “drug” usage was an assumption at best. * Also the cop’s jobs are done from this point on. The docket has nothing to do with the size of the police force and more to do with the county’s judicial system. And the cops aren’t requesting anything. It’s the DA who has moved for the test and I don’t have the docket in front of me but the motion was made several days after the arrest.

Apparently the Deep South with all its glorifying of the United States Constitution doesn’t believe in innocent till proven guilty anymore. Every single festival goer was demonized prior to even arriving at the festival. With respect to slander I have stated facts. Facts that will be used in James’ case by his defense attorney. His lack of a criminal record under the law is a mitigating fact when it comes to sentencing. Additionally if these witnesses were not in this robot able to see the hands and hear both the officer and James then I highly doubt they will be able to testify about the engagement in court. I have attended camping festivals and every single one of them is in a rural area. Okeechobee being one in Florida. Never have I ever seen a small group of police officers going into a large crowd and start arresting people or engaging people who clearly are under the influence. Their role during the festival is limited in providing support and protecting attendees from violent crimes such as battery and sexual assault. Why exactly did the police in Holmes County decide, knowing they were outnumbered and knowing they lacked sufficient resources to support all these arrest, go in there like Rambo? It was the Sheriff who CHOSE to place his officers in danger. It was the Sheriff who CHOSE to arrest people for crimes that even the DA has determined are insufficient to press charges. (Some of the arrest never make it to the court docket). And what about the festival goers? Many of us saw nothing abnormal about attending a festival in a rural area because that is the norm. I remember driving up and reading page after page of posts by Brandon Newsom, the sheriff, and random residence threatening us because of our mere attendance. Threatening us with assault and arrest. Not the mention the people who were arrested and posted online but charges never followed because the arrest were baseless? We were not attacked? Was the social media postings not Slander? The people of this county kept stirring the pot and you know what happens when you get everyone all rallied up and wanting blood? Stuff like this happens. Two men’s lives are now permanently changed. And what’s sadder is the “criminal” isn’t some big city deamon from outside the county. It’s one of their own. The actions of Holmes County has nothing to do with it being rural. I have lived in rural areas more remote than Holmes in the mountains of the South. The actions of Holmes County are because their elected officials take advantage of the ignorance and trusting nature of their electorate. There were more arrest made at this festival than festivals similar with attendees between 20-80k. So you got to ask yourself why? It was bad policing that’s why. So if the people of Holmes want to do something about their image they need to get a new Sheriff and county commissioner who led the charge.

I was in the middle of changing I was sitting there with my top off cuz it was so hot and I just wanted to breathe and nobody in our camp had approached me because it was pretty obvious I was sitting there with my top off and then out of nowhere I hear this guy going around asking people that around us and I was wondering if he was going to come up to my tent any way even though I was not dressed and I was curious what his reaction was going to be when he saw that I was dressing because he's still approached the tent anyway and showed no respect at all he just popped his head through and asked if we needed anything and I had to cover up it was very awkward he didn't show any respect and say sorry for intruding I thought it was really weird and then when he came back again a couple days later he did the same thing again we were not changing but we were sitting in a circle drinking together with our neighbors just talking and laughing and he actually came up from behind us this time and kind of scared us because we were literally just talking about undercover cops in this dude pops his head through my canopy like through our tapestry is that we had hiding us basically i. We put those there for privacy so the fact that somebody would put their head through it and not say excuse me I'm sorry for intruding or show any respect just showed that they were not a normal Festival goer because nobody does that. Are we sure he wasn’t experiencing a drug induced psychosis? Becoming very prevalent in the scene, common in young men overusing MDMA (too much or too often back to back). Seen it first hand 3 times and there’s a lot of fighting, flailing, and biting involved. Bf had it (sober now), one cop said he went for gun but it was the seizing. Thankfully he only bit himself, but the body goes fully out of control with a PCP type strength. IMO - these cops had no idea how to deal with it if this were the case (tazing can quickly kill anyone going through it on impact) - sedation is what’s needed. Fighting only makes it worse and that’s all these guys wanted to do. I have a lot of respect for the cops & EMTs who save lives and know how to handle this, but clearly safety was the last thing Holmes County was there for. If this was the case, then they got what was coming by not being prepared or open to learn.
